00:16:44.960But when we get down to the people orchestrating these policies, not only the unimpressive, but they're completely low energy, and as we see with Adam Schiff here, they can't even make it through a hearing without falling asleep.
00:17:13.960It is an existential threat, Senator, and also, I have not seen it yet, but from what I've heard about former FBI director of Ray's comments on 60 Minutes regarding China, sleeper cells within our own country infiltrating our water systems,
00:17:30.960our natural gas lines, telecommunications.
00:17:46.960Senator, pardon me, Governor Ron DeSantis, I think we have a graphic on this.
00:17:51.960Senator Ron DeSantis, pardon me, Governor Ron DeSantis has announced that he will appoint Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody
00:17:59.960to appoint to the vacancy created in the Senate by the resignation of Marco Rubio to become Attorney General.
00:18:08.960Now, normally, Rubio's term would run until 2028.
00:18:14.960But under Florida law, since Rubio resigned early in the term, there will be a special election in November of 2026 to fill that seat.
00:18:27.960In the interim, Ashley Moody, the sitting Attorney General of Florida, has been appointed to the U.S. Senate.
00:18:36.960Whether she will run for reelection is unknown.
00:18:39.960What is known is that hard-charging Congressman Corey Mills has already announced that he will be a candidate for the seat in 2026.
00:18:50.960Now, Troy, I must tell you, to a certain extent, this could turn out to be a proxy war between Governor Ron DeSantis and President Donald Trump.
00:19:01.960I am somewhat mystified by the fact that after the beating that Trump administered to DeSantis for the Republican national presidential nomination,
00:19:16.960that DeSantis did not go out and mend fences by campaigning hard for Trump's election in the general election.
00:19:24.960I think that's what a smart politician would have done.
00:19:28.960It's interesting, historically, that Richard Nixon's hard stumping for Barry Goldwater, who lost, put him in excellent position to win the nomination four years later in 1968.
00:19:42.960In this case, for example, President Trump had a terrific, huge rally in Doral, Florida, and the nomination had been wrapped up by then.
00:19:54.960Governor DeSantis would have been extremely well received at that rally, but he chose not to come.
00:20:01.960If you will go back and examine the words surrounding his withdrawal from the presidential race, he never actually says he endorsed Trump or that he was supporting Trump.
00:20:13.960And I'm not aware of any speech or event that he attended to help the president over the 2024 finish line.
00:20:24.960So, first of all, there is the passing up of Lara Trump for this Senate seat.
00:20:30.960While I think she would be a great U.S. Senator, my greater hope is that she will return to her home state of North Carolina and challenge RINO Senator Tom Tillis in the Republican primary there for the Senate.
00:20:45.960She could win that primary. She also could be the only Republican who could win the seat after dispatching Tillis.
00:20:52.960And I still hope that she will do that.
00:20:55.960Those advocating for the appointment of Lara Trump, and I certainly would love to have seen that.
00:21:02.960I think that was the olive branch that was perhaps what could have been the opening to a rapprochement between Governor DeSantis and President Trump.
00:21:16.960So, whether the president will support Moody, and Moody will run for reelection, or whether the president will back the insurgent candidacy of Cory Mills, we're going to find out.
00:21:28.960We're going to try to get Cory Mills right here in the Stone Zone next week to talk about this.
00:21:33.960But he should not be underestimated as a candidate.
00:21:58.960It is possible, possible, that Moody is a placeholder.
00:22:04.960In other words, she will fill out the next two years of the term, but then not run, opening the door for DeSantis to run for the seat himself.
00:22:14.960I think that's a distinct possibility.
00:22:17.960It'll be interesting to see today how Attorney General Moody reacts to questions as to whether she's going to run for reelection.
00:22:26.960Well, Roger, I wanted to ask you about this, because in a 2022 investigation that I launched into Governor Ron DeSantis' reelection campaign, I found that a PAC called Florida Voters in Charge had dispersed hundreds of thousands of dollars to local election supervisors across the state of Florida.
00:22:47.960And when I traced the money from Florida Voters in Charge, nearly all of it came from the Sands Corporation, which is run by a formerly Sheldon Adelson, who has passed on, and Miriam Adelson currently chairs that.
00:22:59.960And, you know, moving forward, Roger, I just want to ask you, because you've seen this before with Ronald Reagan.
00:23:05.960In Ronald Reagan's second term, we saw the resurgence of the establishment Republicans you described on this show, how they used Reagan's second term to take over the conservative movement, to co-opt it, and to push us into this era of Bush Sr.
00:23:19.960And constant foreign wars led to Obama and all this horrible thing, all the horrible things that we saw, you know, even John McCain comes out of that.
00:23:30.460So I want to ask you, you know, what should we be prepared for as America First conservatives going into this next administration?
00:23:38.600People within the conservative movement that have, say, coalesced around the president, are they still going to have the knives out at the end of the day to shank those of us in the America First movement?
00:23:52.740How should we prepare for what's coming in this ultimate, what looks like it's going to shake out to be a turf war within the Republican Party, that President Trump has won without firing a shot?
00:24:02.220You know, Troy, this does not concern me in a very strange way.
00:24:09.560I think Donald Trump is going to be an even greater president in his new term than he would be if he had been rightfully seated as president in 2020.
00:24:19.520You can already see the Democrats continuing to use 2020 as a talking point because they think they have persuaded the American people that the 2020 election was not stolen.
00:24:32.080The polling by Rasmussen, and I would urge you over at Slingshot to take a look at this, shows overwhelmingly that the number of people who believe the 2020 election was stolen has continually increased to the point where it now is a majority.
00:24:50.660So the people who believe the 2020 election was not stolen tend to be Democrats who supported Joe Biden.
00:24:56.500I think that the president in this term or entering this term is far more knowledgeable, much wiser about, first of all, the dynamics within the Republican Party and the fact that there are some Republicans who never happy about his nomination, never happy about his election.
00:25:21.940They're forced to grimace and pretend they're forced to grimace and pretend they're for him because he's the most popular Republican president in history, surpassing even Reagan in terms of his approval ratings in that regard.
00:25:34.420And therefore, at the grassroots level of the party, it is deadly to be against Donald Trump.
00:25:41.560So they have to pretend to be for him, even when they are not.
00:25:44.900Where I think we're going to be in much better shape is in the appointments process.
00:25:52.400The president, I think, being not coming from the world of politics, not having any experience in this, when he formed his first administration, he was focused, I think, largely at the positions at the very top, the cabinet secretaries and so on.
00:26:07.340This time, I know for a fact that he's much more deeply involved, not just looking at who the secretaries of various departments are, but also the deputy assistant secretaries, the assistant secretaries, the general counsels of each department,
00:26:26.300and also looking at the heads and makeup of individual agencies like the Federal Election Commission, the FCC, the SEC, the Securities and Exchange Commission, and other crucial bodies.
00:26:42.360So I think you're far more likely to get a true America first administration.
00:26:50.320And believe me, prior support for Donald Trump is a major measure for appointment, which it should be.
00:26:59.040You need a homogenous team of people who understand that their job is to forward the president's agenda, not to forward the agenda of the rhino wing of the party or the individual agenda of the appointee.
00:27:19.780You had nominees like H.R. McMaster, who served as the National Security Advisor, or even worse, White House Chief of Staff John Kelly.
00:27:32.360These people, they've written this, they've said it after they were fired.
00:27:36.900They thought their job was to delay, delute and derail Trump's agenda rather than implement it.
00:27:43.460You're not going to see that this time, in my opinion.
00:27:46.000Well, Roger, there's another thing I want to get your opinion on, and that is something that's making the rounds right now.
00:27:51.600And that is the fact that House Speaker Mike Johnson has removed Representative Mike Turner as the House Intelligence Chair.
00:28:00.040Mike Turner had previously accused the GOP of being, quote, infected with Russian propaganda during a CNN appearance in July 2024.
00:28:23.600Let's turn to Ukraine, an issue that's important to you and your fellow Republican chairman, Michael McCaul, who runs the Foreign Affairs Committee.
00:28:32.140Congressman McCaul made a comment this week about what he says sounds like Russian propaganda from some conservative media
00:28:38.120and why it's so difficult to explain to Republican voters why supporting Ukraine is important.
00:28:43.340He told Julia Yaffe, quote, I think Russian propaganda has made its way into the United States, unfortunately, and it's infected a good chunk of my party's base.
00:28:51.280He singled out primetime shows on conservative channels.
00:29:00.200We see directly coming from Russia attempts to mask communications that are anti-Ukraine and pro-Russia messages, some of which we even hear being uttered on the House floor.
00:29:10.360I mean, there are members of Congress today who still incorrectly say that this conflict between Russia and Ukraine is over NATO, which, of course, it is not.
00:29:16.960Vladimir Putin, having made it very clear, both publicly and to his own population, that his view is that this is a conflict of a much broader claim of Russia to Eastern Europe,
00:29:29.360including claiming all of Ukraine territory as Russia's.
00:29:32.860Now, to the extent that this propaganda takes hold, it makes it more difficult for us to really see this as an authoritarian versus democracy battle, which is what it is.
00:29:42.600President Xi of China, Vladimir Putin himself, have identified it as such.
00:30:47.180It is an indisputable fact that the United States reached an agreement, the Budapest Memorandum, signed for the United States by James A. Baker, Secretary of State, in which we specifically agreed not to push Ukraine into NATO.
00:31:06.960Which is really defined as not putting NATO missiles, funded by the United States, on the ground in Ukraine, pointed at Russia.
00:31:19.140The silos into which those missiles are to be dropped are already actually built.
00:31:27.220Obviously, the bioweapons labs that Victoria Nuland blurted out in a Senate hearing actually exist is also a violation of that agreement.
00:31:39.660We yet again agree in the Minsk Accords not to push Ukraine into NATO, which, of course, is on Russia's border.
00:31:50.760This idea that the war in Ukraine is about the territorial ambitions of Vladimir Putin, that he's going to swallow up all of Ukraine, then he's going to take Poland, then he's going to take France, then he's going to take Germany.
00:32:08.660So it seems to me that the person who has kind of bought into the propaganda regarding this war is former Chairman McCall, who's bought Russian propaganda as to what this war is really about.
00:32:24.740Now, I understand, having said all those things I just said, that people will say, oh, Stone is a, he's a, he's a rollover for the Russians.
00:32:33.600Look, I had relatives in my family mowed down by Russian tanks in Budapest in 1956.
00:32:41.740I have no great love for the Russians.
00:32:44.060Yes, Vladimir Putin is an authoritarian thug.
00:32:48.060How did that make him different than Volodymyr Zelensky?
00:32:54.200Most importantly, the killing and the mass murder has to end.
00:32:58.860I think the highlight of the campaign was the town meeting with Caitlin Collins when she tried to corner Donald Trump into, well, who do you want to win?
00:33:09.640Do you want the Russians to win or do you want the Ukrainians to win?
00:33:14.040And he said, I want to stop the dying, I want to stop the killing.
00:33:18.060It was one of the high points of the campaign.
00:33:20.960So, look, this is Donald Trump's Republican Party.
00:33:24.120And those who want to ship billions more to Ukraine, which this current administration is trying to get as much out the door as they can before they lose the keys to the cash box, as it were, they have to recognize that this war is going to draw to a close.
00:33:43.760And my guess is that Donald Trump, the consummate dealmaker, is going to end this conflict relatively quickly with some negotiated settlement.
00:33:58.420We already see a situation in the Middle East.
00:34:01.260You may be more up on this than I do, but yesterday there was an announcement of a ceasefire between Israel and their enemies and that the hostages being held by Hamas would be released.
00:34:15.700So Trump is not even president yet, and good things are happening for the country.
00:34:23.400And yet, last night, you know, when President Biden took the stage, you know, his State Department, we covered this on my show yesterday, and we've covered it on Slingshot News as well.
00:34:34.240The State Department came out with a video, and we're running short on time here, so we're not going to play the full thing.
00:34:39.980But the State Department essentially said that the Trump administration coming in had a huge part to deal with this.
00:34:46.480Trump vowed just days ago, Roger, that there would be hell to pay for Hamas if they did not release these hostages.
00:34:52.820All of a sudden, we see movement, yet last night in his farewell address, President Biden took credit for what happened in Israel, and he's taking credit for the ceasefire.
00:35:03.260Now, I think it's important to highlight that this is an opportunity for Americans to come together of Democrat and Republican persuasion.
00:35:10.900I have not seen the Trump administration, the coming in Trump administration, I haven't seen them disparaging the Biden administration, but what I have seen is the Biden administration last night openly disparaging the Trump administration and attempting to shove them out of the way on what could be a bipartisan accomplishment to move the country forward.
00:35:30.240It's just disgusting. One of the worst instances we saw last night in Biden's speech of really breaking the mold and destroying standards in the United States was once again attacking the Supreme Court, calling for term limits for our justices and other attacks, also attacking President Trump over the issue of immunity.
00:35:49.200I want to roll this, Roger, and then get your thoughts on this continued attack.
00:35:53.180We also pulled the clip of Chuck Schumer just a few years ago attacking Supreme Court justices.
00:35:58.680This is a trend, and it's going in a terrible direction.

00:39:01.760I'm seeing with all of Trump's nominees this time, they are prepared in a way that I've never seen nominees prepared to take these hearings on.
00:39:10.260And I know that you can't reveal anything that you talk about with the president or anything like that.
00:39:14.680But what can you tell us about the process that goes into preparing for these people?
00:39:22.540Is this just a result of picking people who are more prepared for the job?
00:39:25.860Did President Trump factor in their appearance on television or their general appearance while while doing this?
00:39:32.440Because these people are coming off as some of the most prepared nominees I've ever seen.
00:39:36.440I've watched a lot of these hearings over the years and these people are really standing out.
00:39:40.120Well, the greatest single quality that I've seen is the one of restraint, how Pete Hegseth, how Pam Bondi keep their cool while these Democrats act like lunatics and accuse them of everything under the sun is really extraordinary.
00:40:01.120I thought Hegseth's performance in his hearings was exemplary.
00:40:06.540He didn't take the bait, although they tried to bait him repeatedly.
00:40:10.760The idea of Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut, a man who lied about serving in Vietnam, did not ever go to Vietnam, did not serve in Vietnam, but ran for the Senate, claiming otherwise.
00:40:24.440Him questioning the military service of Pete Hegseth is an insult to the American people.
00:40:31.260Da Nang Dick, as they call him back in Connecticut, is truly a disgrace.
00:40:37.040How Hegseth kept his cool without pointing out the lies by Senator Blumenthal about his own service record, I give him enormous credit for that.
00:40:50.660I believe Hegseth will be confirmed by the Senate, and that is a big win for Donald Trump.
00:40:59.220The Senate Majority Leader John Thune says he has the votes.
00:41:06.500Therefore, I have some confidence that that's about to happen.
00:41:09.500In the meantime, however, disappointing, very disappointing to see Senator Lindsey Graham announce that he will not support Robert F. Kennedy for the position of Secretary of HHS.
00:41:24.380While this doesn't surprise me, I think the good news is that Kennedy is well positioned to pick up a few Democrats, such as John Fetterman of Pennsylvania, to offset the loss of the king of the rhinos, Lindsey Graham.
00:41:39.620But very disappointing news from Senator Graham.
00:41:43.420But then there's an old saying, what do you expect from a pig but a grunt?
00:41:47.280Well, and Roger, I think that a lot of people in the Republican circles, and particularly the media as well, are looking at the defiance of Lindsey Graham and other senators, particularly Lisa Murkowski and others.
00:42:02.960And they're wondering if Trump will follow through on his promise to primary challenge, basically all of these people.
00:42:11.140I wanted to ask you about Lindsey Graham in particular.
00:42:13.700What's the relationship like there with the president?
00:42:16.400You know, I've seen Lindsey Graham at rallies with the president of South Carolina.
00:42:21.340It doesn't seem that there's any kind of overlap between their supporters.
00:42:24.900What can you tell us about the idea of these people being challenged in primaries going forward?
00:42:29.840Is the president going to follow through on that?
00:42:32.680Well, I do think that there'll be grassroots, indigenous beginnings of challenges to various senators who oppose Trump nominees.
00:42:43.080South Carolina, however, is a very unique situation.
00:42:45.620South Carolina has what is known as an open primary.

00:53:55.580But historically, we're going to look back at the last four years and say, what an unbelievable time in our country that so many people stood up when we had COVID lockdowns, that so many people stood up when we had the theft of our 2020 election.
