00:02:30.700 This is a conversation between Cliff Carter, who was then the executive director of the Democrat National Committee, longtime political operative for Lyndon Johnson, and Billy Sal Estes.
00:02:45.640 Billy Sal Estes was a flamboyant Texas Wheeler dealer who had been kicking back to Johnson for enormous federal agricultural contracts he had received.
00:03:00.320 When Kennedy was killed, Johnson and Sal Estes were under investigation for that very corruption.

00:03:11.380 He would subsequently write in his book that the killer of John F. Kennedy, at least one of them, was Malcolm Wallace.

00:07:57.860 Well, and Roger, it was an eventful day yesterday on Capitol Hill.
00:08:01.280 And one of our favorites here on the Stones, and somebody that we've covered an awful lot, Adam Schiff, really had the guts.

00:08:09.460 He had the guts to interject and to attack Bondi during her hearings.
00:08:13.500 And made for TV, you know, Pam Bondi, she decided that she wasn't going to allow that to happen.

00:11:39.660 What Adam Schiff is concerned about is himself.
00:11:42.260 Only two weeks ago, the Department of Justice of the Biden administration, Inspector General's
00:11:51.540 report, says that both Adam Schiff and Congressman Eric Swalwell leaked classified information to
00:12:02.100 various media sources, reporters, in violation of the law.
00:12:06.860 And they said the FBI was aware of that.
00:12:10.240 Now, that is a prosecutable crime.
00:12:13.800 Whether they're going to choose to prosecute that, I have no idea.
00:12:17.840 But what Adam Schiff really is concerned about is himself.
00:12:22.460 This is a man who, as you know, said that he had seen, quote, more than circumstantial evidence
00:12:29.080 of Russian collusion with the Trump campaign, yet he produced none whatsoever, none.
00:12:36.500 He knew that the Steele dossier, which was the underlying premise for the appointment of
00:12:43.620 Robert Mueller and the entire Russian collusion hoax, was a fraud.
00:12:48.040 He probably also knew that the government has no evidence whatsoever, none whatsoever, that
00:12:57.060 there was an online hack of the Democrat National Committee by Russian intelligence.
00:13:03.380 Sure, the New York Times continues to repeat this over and over again as if it is a fact.
00:13:08.600 But of course, it isn't a fact.
00:13:10.840 In fact, all of the forensic evidence and expert analysis would indicate that to the extent
00:13:17.360 that data was clearly stolen from the Democrat National Committee, it was downloaded to some
00:13:24.000 kind of a portable drive and taken out the back door.
00:13:27.880 So what is Adam Schiff's real, what's he really trying to do here?

00:13:36.120 What he really wants to know is whether Pam Bondi is going to pursue those who broke the

00:17:46.960 Senator, pardon me, Governor Ron DeSantis, I think we have a graphic on this.
00:17:51.960 Senator Ron DeSantis, pardon me, Governor Ron DeSantis has announced that he will appoint Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody
00:17:59.960 to appoint to the vacancy created in the Senate by the resignation of Marco Rubio to become Attorney General.
00:18:08.960 Now, normally, Rubio's term would run until 2028.
00:18:14.960 But under Florida law, since Rubio resigned early in the term, there will be a special election in November of 2026 to fill that seat.
00:18:27.960 In the interim, Ashley Moody, the sitting Attorney General of Florida, has been appointed to the U.S. Senate.
00:18:36.960 Whether she will run for reelection is unknown.
00:18:39.960 What is known is that hard-charging Congressman Corey Mills has already announced that he will be a candidate for the seat in 2026.
00:18:50.960 Now, Troy, I must tell you, to a certain extent, this could turn out to be a proxy war between Governor Ron DeSantis and President Donald Trump.
00:19:01.960 I am somewhat mystified by the fact that after the beating that Trump administered to DeSantis for the Republican national presidential nomination,
00:19:16.960 that DeSantis did not go out and mend fences by campaigning hard for Trump's election in the general election.
00:19:24.960 I think that's what a smart politician would have done.
00:19:28.960 It's interesting, historically, that Richard Nixon's hard stumping for Barry Goldwater, who lost, put him in excellent position to win the nomination four years later in 1968.
00:19:42.960 In this case, for example, President Trump had a terrific, huge rally in Doral, Florida, and the nomination had been wrapped up by then.
00:19:54.960 Governor DeSantis would have been extremely well received at that rally, but he chose not to come.
00:20:01.960 If you will go back and examine the words surrounding his withdrawal from the presidential race, he never actually says he endorsed Trump or that he was supporting Trump.
00:20:13.960 And I'm not aware of any speech or event that he attended to help the president over the 2024 finish line.
00:20:24.960 So, first of all, there is the passing up of Lara Trump for this Senate seat.
00:20:30.960 While I think she would be a great U.S. Senator, my greater hope is that she will return to her home state of North Carolina and challenge RINO Senator Tom Tillis in the Republican primary there for the Senate.
00:20:45.960 She could win that primary. She also could be the only Republican who could win the seat after dispatching Tillis.
00:20:52.960 And I still hope that she will do that.
00:20:55.960 Those advocating for the appointment of Lara Trump, and I certainly would love to have seen that.
00:21:02.960 I think that was the olive branch that was perhaps what could have been the opening to a rapprochement between Governor DeSantis and President Trump.
00:21:14.960 That still has not happened.
00:21:16.960 So, whether the president will support Moody, and Moody will run for reelection, or whether the president will back the insurgent candidacy of Cory Mills, we're going to find out.
00:21:28.960 We're going to try to get Cory Mills right here in the Stone Zone next week to talk about this.
00:21:33.960 But he should not be underestimated as a candidate.
00:21:36.960 He's a prodigious fundraiser.
00:21:40.960 He is an indefatigable candidate.
00:21:44.960 This could be setting up, as I say, a proxy contest.
00:21:49.960 Remember, DeSantis cannot run for reelection as governor.
00:21:53.960 He, his term ends in 2026.
00:21:58.960 It is possible, possible, that Moody is a placeholder.
00:22:04.960 In other words, she will fill out the next two years of the term, but then not run, opening the door for DeSantis to run for the seat himself.
00:22:14.960 I think that's a distinct possibility.
00:22:17.960 It'll be interesting to see today how Attorney General Moody reacts to questions as to whether she's going to run for reelection.
00:22:26.960 Well, Roger, I wanted to ask you about this, because in a 2022 investigation that I launched into Governor Ron DeSantis' reelection campaign, I found that a PAC called Florida Voters in Charge had dispersed hundreds of thousands of dollars to local election supervisors across the state of Florida.
00:22:47.960 And when I traced the money from Florida Voters in Charge, nearly all of it came from the Sands Corporation, which is run by a formerly Sheldon Adelson, who has passed on, and Miriam Adelson currently chairs that.
00:22:59.960 And, you know, moving forward, Roger, I just want to ask you, because you've seen this before with Ronald Reagan.
00:23:05.960 In Ronald Reagan's second term, we saw the resurgence of the establishment Republicans you described on this show, how they used Reagan's second term to take over the conservative movement, to co-opt it, and to push us into this era of Bush Sr.
00:23:19.960 And constant foreign wars led to Obama and all this horrible thing, all the horrible things that we saw, you know, even John McCain comes out of that.
00:23:30.460 So I want to ask you, you know, what should we be prepared for as America First conservatives going into this next administration?
00:23:38.600 People within the conservative movement that have, say, coalesced around the president, are they still going to have the knives out at the end of the day to shank those of us in the America First movement?
00:23:51.260 Should we let our guard down?
00:23:52.740 How should we prepare for what's coming in this ultimate, what looks like it's going to shake out to be a turf war within the Republican Party, that President Trump has won without firing a shot?
00:24:02.220 You know, Troy, this does not concern me in a very strange way.
00:24:09.560 I think Donald Trump is going to be an even greater president in his new term than he would be if he had been rightfully seated as president in 2020.
00:24:19.520 You can already see the Democrats continuing to use 2020 as a talking point because they think they have persuaded the American people that the 2020 election was not stolen.
00:24:32.080 The polling by Rasmussen, and I would urge you over at Slingshot to take a look at this, shows overwhelmingly that the number of people who believe the 2020 election was stolen has continually increased to the point where it now is a majority.
00:24:50.660 So the people who believe the 2020 election was not stolen tend to be Democrats who supported Joe Biden.
00:24:56.500 I think that the president in this term or entering this term is far more knowledgeable, much wiser about, first of all, the dynamics within the Republican Party and the fact that there are some Republicans who never happy about his nomination, never happy about his election.
00:25:21.940 They're forced to grimace and pretend they're forced to grimace and pretend they're for him because he's the most popular Republican president in history, surpassing even Reagan in terms of his approval ratings in that regard.
00:25:34.420 And therefore, at the grassroots level of the party, it is deadly to be against Donald Trump.
00:25:41.560 So they have to pretend to be for him, even when they are not.
00:25:44.900 Where I think we're going to be in much better shape is in the appointments process.
00:25:52.400 The president, I think, being not coming from the world of politics, not having any experience in this, when he formed his first administration, he was focused, I think, largely at the positions at the very top, the cabinet secretaries and so on.
00:26:07.340 This time, I know for a fact that he's much more deeply involved, not just looking at who the secretaries of various departments are, but also the deputy assistant secretaries, the assistant secretaries, the general counsels of each department,
00:26:26.300 and also looking at the heads and makeup of individual agencies like the Federal Election Commission, the FCC, the SEC, the Securities and Exchange Commission, and other crucial bodies.
00:26:42.360 So I think you're far more likely to get a true America first administration.
00:26:50.320 And believe me, prior support for Donald Trump is a major measure for appointment, which it should be.
00:26:59.040 You need a homogenous team of people who understand that their job is to forward the president's agenda, not to forward the agenda of the rhino wing of the party or the individual agenda of the appointee.
00:27:19.780 You had nominees like H.R. McMaster, who served as the National Security Advisor, or even worse, White House Chief of Staff John Kelly.

00:42:32.680 Well, I do think that there'll be grassroots, indigenous beginnings of challenges to various senators who oppose Trump nominees.
00:42:43.080 South Carolina, however, is a very unique situation.
00:42:45.620 South Carolina has what is known as an open primary.
00:42:49.000 That means Democrats and independents, or people in no party, can vote in the Republican primary.
00:42:55.380 That's the only reason Lindsey Graham is still in the U.S. Senate.
00:42:58.340 If South Carolina closed its primary to Republicans only, which is the norm in most states, I don't think Lindsey Graham would win a Republican primary.
00:43:09.720 But he's very popular among liberal Democrats in that state for reasons you can understand.
00:43:16.720 And therefore, I would suggest to you that he may not be able to be defeated in a open Republican primary.
