00:01:31.740 The Stone Zone.

00:01:33.240 Entertaining and informative.

00:01:35.380 On the Red Apple Podcast Network.

00:01:38.360 Welcome into the Stone Zone and Happy Thanksgiving. 0.51

00:01:43.560 Because I am half Italian and half Hungarian, I'm Italian from the waist down,

00:01:49.780 We celebrate Thanksgiving a little differently in our home because I'm proud of my Italian-American heritage.

00:01:57.440 Our first course is a hearty bolognese sauce, which we refer to as Sunday gravy.

00:02:05.220 One-third pork, one-third veal, one-third beef.

00:02:09.840 San Marzano tomatoes.

00:02:12.160 San Marzano is not a brand.

00:02:13.760 It is a type, a style of tomato that is grown in a certain valley in Italy.

00:02:19.960 You can find it at Gristini's or any fine supermarket.

00:02:27.040 But be very careful on the label.

00:02:29.040 If it says San Marzano style tomatoes, well, then that's a fugazi. 0.67

00:02:35.940 You want real San Marzano tomatoes.

00:02:38.560 Again, not a brand.

00:02:39.900 Several different brands do import them.

00:02:42.140 But, of course, we also have the Italian sausage, the meatballs, the brazole.

00:02:48.660 We're going to be serving it over rigatoni.

00:02:51.820 That's our first course.

00:02:53.100 And then we move on to the traditional turkey stuffing, bread stuffing.

00:03:00.540 My mother used to make this great French stuffing, which was done with potatoes, beef, onions, and garlic. 0.62

00:03:09.860 Unfortunately, it's a recipe that I've lost and that my sisters are also unable to find.

00:03:15.600 But we're still looking for it.

00:03:17.100 Of course, we have the mashed potatoes, the turnips, the green peas, all of the traditional fixings.

00:03:27.000 It's all making my wife water. 1.00

00:03:29.260 But, well, I don't get any dinner until after the show.

00:03:33.000 Thanksgiving is really the holiday that made other American holidays possible.

00:03:38.740 As you see, if it's not for the pilgrims having courage, absolute faith in their cause and calling,

00:03:44.460 and the willingness to sacrifice and risk everything,

00:03:47.900 they never would have attempted to cross a vast ocean on the 94-foot Mayflower,

00:03:54.680 a ship of questionable seaworthiness to begin with.

00:03:57.920 The Thanksgiving holiday, which commemorates one part of the pilgrim story,

00:04:03.080 remains the favorite holiday for many Americans like myself,

00:04:07.100 and for good reasons, beyond just enjoying the upcoming feast.

00:04:11.800 With our country passing through troubled times,

00:04:14.700 it's worth revisiting the pilgrims' five significant achievements,

00:04:19.040 which created the seminal story of America,

00:04:21.960 and reveal the remarkable insight into who we are

00:04:27.060 and the qualities of character we need to overcome our present challenges.

00:04:33.080 You see, first of many of the settlers who came to America,

00:04:36.840 only the pilgrims were singularly motivated by a spiritual quest for religious freedom,

00:04:44.060 one that had its origin in the Protestant Reformation a century before.

00:04:48.720 William Bradford, the longest-serving governor of Plymouth Colony

00:04:53.560 and author of Of Plymouth Plantation,

00:04:57.460 which was written between 1630 and 1651,

00:05:01.920 repeatedly framed the pilgrims' voyage and settlement

00:05:05.420 in explicably biblical terms,

00:05:09.140 drawing direct parallels to the Israelites' exodus from Egypt to the Promised Land.

00:05:15.440 Thus, both American Christians and Jews 1.00

00:05:19.200 find profound meaning in the pilgrims' Thanksgiving story.

00:05:24.720 After a harrowing passage across the Atlantic,

00:05:27.960 one that included wild pitching and broadside batterings

00:05:31.380 by gale-force winds and ferocious seas

00:05:34.460 that caused the splitting of the ship's main beam,

00:05:38.080 the Mayflower was blown off course

00:05:40.220 from arriving at the territory assigned by the London-based sponsoring Virginia Company

00:05:47.080 to a territory that is now northern New Jersey.

00:05:52.380 Making landfall on the barren shores of Cape Cod

00:05:55.820 rather than the plan for New Jersey,

00:05:58.260 the pilgrims knew not where they were nor how to proceed.

00:06:01.940 So, they prayed to the Lord for help to find more suitable land

00:06:07.060 with fresh water and fertile soil

00:06:09.280 to establish a new and independent settlement.

00:06:14.000 Now, after a frightening voyage

00:06:16.540 and facing hunger from spoiled and depleted provisions

00:06:20.120 and anxious about settling outside the purview

00:06:23.180 of the Virginia Company's known chartered territory,

00:06:26.600 the secular Mayflower passengers were restless

00:06:30.120 and some of them were insolent.

00:06:32.500 And this is where the pilgrims accomplished

00:06:34.180 their second major achievement

00:06:36.080 that would shape the future of America.

00:06:39.660 Pilgrim leaders John Carver, William Bradford,

00:06:43.040 and William Brewster recognized

00:06:44.620 that Mayflower's passengers, diverse as they were,

00:06:48.800 needed to maintain unities

00:06:50.880 to survive in a potentially in-hospital environment.

00:06:54.360 So, off the Cape Cod coast,

00:06:56.920 they drafted a governing agreement

00:06:58.920 that would be acceptable both to their Christian brethren

00:07:02.380 and also to the secular crew members

00:07:05.220 and merchant adventurers

00:07:06.600 who made up about half of the 102 people

00:07:10.280 aboard the Mayflower.

00:07:11.620 That governing document, known as the Mayflower Compact,

00:07:16.420 provided for peace, security, equality,

00:07:20.220 and democratic decision-making for everyone

00:07:23.080 in their new anticipated settlement.

00:07:26.900 With every man aboard signing the Mayflower Compact,

00:07:30.760 the pilgrims established the foundation

00:07:32.360 for democratic self-government

00:07:34.640 based on the will of the people

00:07:36.300 for the first time in this hemisphere.

00:07:40.080 And so it was that the Mayflower Compact

00:07:42.680 laid the cornerstone for the U.S. Constitution,

00:07:45.500 which would be drafted and adopted

00:07:47.140 some 170 years later.

00:07:50.960 Although the pilgrims all survived

00:07:53.840 the squalid and cramped ship quarters

00:07:56.060 during their dangerous crossing of a vast ocean,

00:07:59.340 their fate changed once they found suitable land

00:08:02.260 for settlement,

00:08:02.820 which they called, initially, New Plymouth.

00:08:06.860 That was in December of 1620.

00:08:10.460 The first winter was frigid and devastating,

00:08:13.020 with illness-afflicting most and over half.

00:08:15.300 The pilgrims actually died,

00:08:17.680 including the four entire families.

00:08:20.500 But it could actually have been worse.

00:08:23.480 The fate of the pilgrim colonists

00:08:25.320 would surely not have been difficult

00:08:26.840 had they not settled where they did,

00:08:28.960 adjacent to friendly natives,

00:08:31.520 the Pocahontas Indians,

00:08:33.900 who were part of the Wampanoag tribe,

00:08:36.100 still in Massachusetts,

00:08:37.860 led by their chief, Massasoit.

00:08:40.500 And it seems providential

00:08:43.020 that there were two Indians

00:08:44.320 who could speak English

00:08:45.480 from prior interactions with the British.

00:08:48.260 They were Squanato and Samoset,

00:08:51.660 without who perhaps none of them

00:08:54.420 would have survived.

00:08:57.040 Squanto and his fellow native tribesmen

00:08:59.580 could teach the pilgrims' survival skills,

00:09:01.900 show them how to hunt, fish,

00:09:04.240 and plant various crops,

00:09:05.840 such as corn, squash,

00:09:07.740 and varieties of beans,

00:09:09.060 which were heretofore

00:09:11.080 completely unknown to the Englishmen.

00:09:13.780 Then there was the pilgrim's 0.88

00:09:15.240 third major achievement.

00:09:17.020 That was the pilgrim Wampanoag 0.93

00:09:19.280 peace treaty made possible

00:09:21.240 by Squanto, the Indian,

00:09:23.400 who played a crucial role

00:09:25.200 as translator in what was

00:09:26.480 the first successful negotiation

00:09:29.040 and maintenance of the peace.

00:09:31.640 The treaty was signed

00:09:33.420 on April 1st of 1621

00:09:35.840 by Massasoit

00:09:37.620 and leaders of the Plymouth Colony.

00:09:40.200 That treaty between Native Americans

00:09:42.160 and the settlers

00:09:42.940 would last more than 50 years,

00:09:45.220 longer than any peace treaty

00:09:47.380 between subsequent colonists

00:09:48.960 and Indian tribes

00:09:50.200 that inhabited other territories

00:09:51.980 that would only later

00:09:53.520 become part of the United States.

00:09:55.240 So despite learning

00:09:56.200 from the natives 1.00

00:09:57.380 how to plant,

00:09:58.320 cultivate,

00:09:58.860 and harvest new crops

00:09:59.960 in their first year,

00:10:01.140 the pilgrims complied

00:10:02.860 with their sponsoring

00:10:03.860 Virginia Company charter

00:10:05.260 that called for settlement farmland

00:10:07.460 to be owned

00:10:08.140 and worked communally

00:10:09.140 and for harvest

00:10:10.360 to be equally shared.

00:10:12.340 This socialist

00:10:13.600 common property approach

00:10:15.360 created disincentives

00:10:17.440 for some to work.

00:10:19.320 William Bradford

00:10:20.200 recorded in his memoirs

00:10:22.060 that while, quote,

00:10:23.460 slackers showed up late for work,

00:10:25.260 everybody was happy

00:10:26.660 to claim their fair share

00:10:28.900 and production

00:10:30.020 only therefore shrank.

00:10:32.400 Although no one is certain

00:10:33.760 of the exact date

00:10:34.800 of the first Thanksgiving,

00:10:36.440 we do know

00:10:37.340 it was a pilgrim initiative

00:10:38.880 celebrated in November of 1621

00:10:41.980 to give thanks to God

00:10:43.600 for their survival

00:10:44.520 and having lost so many

00:10:46.900 during the first winter in Plymouth

00:10:48.680 and for the first harvest,

00:10:51.040 meager though it was.

00:10:52.920 When Massasoit,

00:10:54.080 the Indian leader,

00:10:55.540 was invited to join the pilgrims,

00:10:57.000 it was assumed

00:10:57.440 he would not bring more guests

00:10:59.180 than the 50-odd

00:11:00.640 Mayflower survivor hosts,

00:11:02.720 but he arrived

00:11:03.420 with twice that number,

00:11:05.340 but they were also bringing food,

00:11:08.680 fowl, and game of all kinds,

00:11:10.520 including five deer

00:11:12.360 and, of course, turkeys.

00:11:14.420 There was more than enough

00:11:15.440 for everybody,

00:11:16.280 enabling the first

00:11:17.940 Thanksgiving celebration

00:11:19.140 to last three full days,

00:11:21.820 punctuated by Indian songs,

00:11:23.460 games, and dance,

00:11:25.120 pilgrim prayers,

00:11:26.040 and even a military-style parade

00:11:28.180 by Miles Standish.

00:11:30.920 The only thing missing

00:11:31.840 was the rigatoni bolognese.

00:11:35.340 The pilgrims' fourth major achievement

00:11:37.520 was the rejection of socialism

00:11:39.280 and the adoption

00:11:40.640 of private enterprise.

00:11:43.140 After the meager Thanksgiving harvest,

00:11:45.720 the second season

00:11:46.560 of collective farming

00:11:47.520 and distribution

00:11:48.740 proved equally disappointing.

00:11:50.440 You see, Governor Bradford

00:11:52.520 had seen enough

00:11:53.420 recording that the system

00:11:54.440 was found to breed

00:11:55.440 much confusion and discontent

00:11:57.640 and retard much employment 0.99

00:11:59.620 that would have been

00:12:00.360 of great benefit

00:12:01.560 and comfort to all.

00:12:03.480 So, before the 1623 season,

00:12:06.660 he scrapped socialism farming

00:12:08.740 and replaced it

00:12:09.540 with private ownership of land

00:12:11.140 for each of the families.

00:12:12.560 As a result of becoming

00:12:14.800 responsible for their own welfare

00:12:16.900 and gaining freedom

00:12:18.040 to choose what to grow

00:12:19.660 for consumption or trade,

00:12:21.680 the pilgrims' productivity

00:12:23.160 actually surged.

00:12:25.580 The fifth factor

00:12:26.400 distinguishing the pilgrims

00:12:27.580 was their model

00:12:28.460 relational behavior.

00:12:30.420 While tolerance enabled them

00:12:31.500 to keep relative harmony

00:12:32.620 within their diverse community,

00:12:34.640 they also looked outwardly

00:12:35.940 to serve and help others.

00:12:37.740 In the March of 1623,

00:12:38.560 it came to be known

00:12:40.840 that Massasoit

00:12:42.040 was on the brink of death

00:12:43.400 from an unknown illness.

00:12:45.260 Senior Pilgrim Elder

00:12:46.600 William Winslow

00:12:47.600 immediately set out on foot

00:12:48.880 for some 40 miles

00:12:50.400 to administer medicinal broth,

00:12:52.800 natural herbs,

00:12:53.660 and prayers

00:12:54.200 for the Indian leader.

00:12:56.460 Astonishingly,

00:12:57.180 upon making a full recovery

00:12:58.580 within three days,

00:13:00.320 Massasoit remarked,

00:13:02.520 Now I see the English

00:13:03.540 are my friends and love me,

00:13:04.920 and whilst I live,

00:13:06.100 I will never forget

00:13:07.060 this kindness

00:13:07.780 that they have shown me.

00:13:09.560 So in summary,

00:13:11.040 the pilgrims' five achievements

00:13:12.580 and the qualities of character

00:13:14.420 that make them exemplary

00:13:15.820 are needed now more

00:13:16.920 than ever today.

00:13:18.680 In addition to gratitude,

00:13:20.580 a contemporary Thanksgiving

00:13:21.840 makeover might include

00:13:23.480 rekindling a quest for adventure,

00:13:26.740 developing the faith

00:13:28.360 to hold on to a vision

00:13:29.820 of a promised land,

00:13:31.640 no matter what,

00:13:33.440 mustering the courage

00:13:34.460 to go against the crowd

00:13:35.720 and defend the truth,

00:13:37.720 being willing to endure hardship

00:13:39.440 and defer immediate gratification,

00:13:42.960 revitalizing respect for

00:13:44.880 and tolerance of people

00:13:46.160 of different beliefs,

00:13:48.860 and reviewing the disposition

00:13:50.920 to extend appreciation,

00:13:53.160 love, and assistance

00:13:54.520 at every appropriate opportunity.

00:13:58.440 I'm very thankful

00:14:00.300 this Thanksgiving

00:14:01.120 because, well,

00:14:02.100 my wife has survived

00:14:04.200 a very aggressive stage

00:14:06.280 for cancer.

00:14:07.420 I'm happy to tell you

00:14:08.700 that based on her

00:14:09.520 most recent tests,

00:14:11.020 she is four years

00:14:12.680 cancer-free.

00:14:14.280 Thank you, Jesus.

00:14:15.720 I'm also grateful

00:14:17.020 for my own freedom

00:14:18.420 because, of course,

00:14:19.160 I was targeted

00:14:19.980 in the Russian collusion hoax.

00:14:22.880 And thanks to my prayers,

00:14:25.120 my fervent prayers,

00:14:27.060 the Lord allowed

00:14:28.880 President Donald Trump

00:14:29.880 to see that I was a victim,

00:14:31.420 not the perpetrator

00:14:32.340 of a crime.

00:14:33.600 And that is why

00:14:34.460 I am free

00:14:35.020 to join you today.

00:14:36.940 I ask all of you

00:14:37.960 to join me

00:14:38.720 in praying

00:14:39.260 for those brave

00:14:40.720 Army National Guardsmen

00:14:42.580 shot yesterday

00:15:01.500 This shrimp and coconut sauce

00:15:03.100 is divine.

00:15:04.140 What's your secret?

00:15:05.120 Goya coconut milk.

00:15:06.260 How does it taste so good?

00:15:07.620 It's all in that

00:15:08.260 real coconut flavor

00:15:09.420 and that rich,

00:15:10.520 creamy texture.

00:15:11.700 What about thickeners 1.00

00:15:12.740 and added sugars?

00:15:13.940 None.

00:15:14.580 Just smooth,

00:15:15.680 coconutty goodness.

00:15:17.000 What can I make with it?

00:15:18.120 From curries

00:15:18.800 to sweet treats

00:15:19.640 like coconut flan?

00:15:21.040 The possibilities

00:15:21.960 are endless.

00:15:23.460 Goya coconut milk.

00:15:24.700 Take your cooking

00:15:25.280 to the next level.

00:15:26.320 No question about it.

00:15:27.400 Find it in the Goya section

00:15:28.340 of your local grocery store.

00:15:29.740 If it's Goya,

00:15:30.500 it has to be good.

00:15:42.460 Like tea time you.

00:17:04.380 Entertaining and informative.

00:17:06.540 On the Red Apple Podcast Network.

00:17:09.460 Welcome back.

00:17:10.680 I really appreciate

00:17:11.540 those kind words

00:17:12.700 from Vice President J.D. Vance.

00:17:15.280 And I thank you

00:17:15.920 for spending

00:17:17.140 your Thanksgiving holiday

00:17:18.700 with us here

00:17:19.660 in the Stone Zone.

00:17:21.040 As we celebrate

00:17:22.640 the quintessential

00:17:23.480 American holiday,

00:17:24.440 let's go back through time

00:17:25.420 and examine how former presidents

00:17:26.920 have commemorated this day,

00:17:28.640 going back to our nation's founding.

00:17:31.540 President George Washington,

00:17:33.320 a man who could have been king

00:17:34.480 but decided instead

00:17:35.460 to be president

00:17:36.280 and limit his own power,

00:17:38.280 issued the first

00:17:39.100 National Thanksgiving

00:17:40.060 Proclamation in 1789,

00:17:42.780 marking the holiday

00:17:43.800 with solemn gratitude

00:17:45.200 and civic reflection.

00:17:47.300 He celebrated quietly

00:17:48.580 with family

00:17:49.480 and religious observance.

00:17:50.980 Then there was

00:17:51.400 President John Adams.

00:17:52.440 He continued issuing

00:17:54.240 proclamations,

00:17:55.340 treating Thanksgiving

00:17:56.440 as a day of prayer

00:17:57.460 and humility.

00:17:59.220 Celebrations, however,

00:18:00.260 continued to remain private

00:18:01.780 and Puritan-influenced.

00:18:04.320 Thomas Jefferson

00:18:05.700 refused to issue

00:18:06.580 Thanksgiving proclamations,

00:18:08.000 viewing them as

00:18:08.540 an unconstitutional

00:18:10.160 fusion of church

00:18:11.280 and state.

00:18:12.560 Celebrated privately,

00:18:13.720 reflected early debates

00:18:15.120 about the holidays' form.

00:18:17.420 Then there was

00:18:18.100 President James Madison.

00:18:19.900 He occasionally issued

00:18:21.180 Thanksgiving proclamations

00:18:22.460 during wartime,

00:18:23.620 but he viewed them

00:18:24.740 very cautiously.

00:18:25.720 His observance,

00:18:26.800 again, remained

00:18:27.740 understated,

00:18:29.320 but still religious.

00:18:31.640 James Monroe

00:18:32.700 did not ever formally

00:18:34.340 proclaim Thanksgiving.

00:18:35.840 The holidays were still,

00:18:37.120 at that point,

00:18:37.860 regional and largely

00:18:39.440 inconsistent.

00:18:40.500 Celebrations were mostly

00:18:42.200 private family gatherings.

00:18:44.520 John Quincy Adams

00:18:46.200 supported New England's

00:18:48.000 Thanksgiving customs,

00:18:48.880 but never issued

00:18:49.880 any formal

00:18:51.480 national proclamation.

00:18:52.860 His family's dinners

00:18:53.780 reflected the

00:18:55.220 traditional

00:18:56.000 New England fare.

00:18:58.340 Andrew Jackson,

00:18:59.480 one of my favorite

00:19:00.060 presidents,

00:19:00.600 took no federal action

00:19:01.640 on Thanksgiving,

00:19:02.920 but endured

00:19:03.620 large private feasts

00:19:05.380 typical of

00:19:06.620 Southern households.

00:19:07.680 The holidays were

00:19:08.400 still not standardized

00:19:10.140 nationally.

00:19:11.940 Then President

00:19:12.680 Martin Van Buren,

00:19:14.160 he didn't formalize

00:19:15.260 the holiday either,

00:19:16.380 but joined

00:19:17.220 regional celebrations

00:19:17.880 as they spread.

00:19:20.000 He marked the day

00:19:20.840 informally with his family.

00:19:23.140 William Henry Harrison

00:19:24.340 left no

00:19:24.980 Thanksgiving levacy

00:19:26.040 to speak of,

00:19:27.160 well, because he

00:19:27.980 just wasn't

00:19:28.660 president very long.

00:19:30.440 And then President

00:19:31.140 John Tyler

00:19:32.040 celebrated Thanksgiving

00:19:33.280 privately,

00:19:33.860 while some states

00:19:34.740 adopted it

00:19:35.500 unofficially.

00:19:37.100 President James K. Polk

00:19:39.160 observed Thanksgiving

00:19:40.240 as it grew

00:19:41.140 in northern states,

00:19:42.720 but still no

00:19:43.420 national proclamations.

00:19:44.780 His successor,

00:19:46.640 President Zachary

00:19:47.460 Taylor,

00:19:48.040 a military man,

00:19:49.460 was known for

00:19:50.180 military style,

00:19:51.040 simplicity,

00:19:51.640 and private

00:19:52.100 observance.

00:19:52.680 The company still

00:19:53.380 remained regional

00:19:54.180 during his presidency.

00:19:56.280 Then, of course,

00:19:57.080 there was

00:19:57.560 Millard Fillmore.

00:19:58.700 He supported

00:19:59.280 state-level

00:19:59.980 Thanksgiving

00:20:00.500 proclamations.

00:20:01.880 Family celebrations

00:20:02.660 aligned with rising

00:20:03.960 Victoria-area

00:20:05.240 domestic traditions.

00:20:07.680 Franklin Pierce,

00:20:08.600 our only bachelor

00:20:09.600 president,

00:20:10.100 also kept

00:20:10.660 Thanksgiving

00:20:11.220 largely private

00:20:12.160 and personal,

00:20:13.080 but he still

00:20:13.880 didn't push

00:20:14.520 for national

00:20:15.200 recognition.

00:20:16.300 When we come

00:20:16.740 back to the

00:20:17.240 Stone Zone,

00:20:17.780 we'll continue

00:20:18.400 with this rundown

00:20:19.320 of how American

00:20:20.640 presidents have

00:20:21.440 treated Thanksgiving,

00:20:22.800 which we celebrate

00:20:23.660 today.

00:20:25.020 If you're listening

00:20:25.840 to the Stone Zone,

00:20:26.660 and I'm Roger Stone,

00:20:27.920 stay with us.

00:20:28.720 We'll be right back.

00:20:33.740 The Stone Zone,

00:20:35.580 entertaining and

00:20:36.840 informative.

00:20:37.740 On the Red Apple

00:20:38.520 Podcast Network.

00:20:39.800 Welcome back

00:20:41.780 into the Stone Zone

00:20:43.080 as we continue

00:20:43.800 our rundown

00:20:44.780 of how American

00:20:46.020 presidents have

00:20:47.020 treated Thanksgiving.

00:20:49.580 We left off

00:20:50.560 with President

00:20:51.200 Franklin Pierce,

00:20:52.280 but he was followed

00:20:52.960 by President

00:20:53.560 James Buchanan.

00:20:55.280 He celebrated

00:20:56.120 modestly as the

00:20:57.120 northern states

00:20:57.800 expanded formal

00:20:58.860 recognition of the

00:21:00.340 holiday, but there 0.97

00:21:01.080 was still no

00:21:02.060 federal proclamation.

00:21:04.140 And then finally,

00:21:05.740 Abraham Lincoln

00:21:06.640 established Thanksgiving

00:21:08.280 as an annual national

00:21:10.100 holiday in 1863

00:21:11.740 to foster unity

00:21:13.480 in the country

00:21:14.240 during the Civil War.

00:21:15.980 This marked the day,

00:21:17.360 the day was marked,

00:21:19.020 I should say,

00:21:19.540 with reflection,

00:21:20.720 charity,

00:21:21.200 and public purpose.

00:21:23.740 Andrew Johnson,

00:21:25.220 who continued

00:21:26.320 Lincoln's national

00:21:27.240 tradition and framed

00:21:28.160 Thanksgiving as a

00:21:29.080 symbol of national

00:21:30.460 healing,

00:21:30.840 his proclamations

00:21:31.780 were cemented

00:21:33.380 its annual status.

00:21:35.120 He was followed

00:21:36.640 by General

00:21:37.740 Ulysses S. Grant,

00:21:39.460 who reinforced

00:21:40.140 Thanksgiving as a

00:21:41.400 stable national

00:21:42.700 observant,

00:21:43.680 once again celebrated

00:21:44.780 with formal dinners

00:21:45.780 and public messaging

00:21:47.280 on reconciliation

00:21:48.400 after the Civil War.

00:21:51.260 President

00:21:51.740 Ruthford B.

00:21:52.740 Hayes held

00:21:53.480 family-centered

00:21:54.220 celebrations

00:21:54.860 and emphasized

00:21:56.120 gratitude

00:21:56.940 with Reconstruction.

00:21:59.020 He helped

00:21:59.720 normalize

00:22:00.640 the holiday

00:22:01.540 nationally,

00:22:02.640 finally,

00:22:03.000 thanks to Lincoln,

00:22:04.260 a federal holiday.

00:22:06.180 James Garfield

00:22:07.100 had a short

00:22:08.060 presidency,

00:22:08.900 but issued

00:22:09.720 a proclamation

00:22:11.020 highlighting peace

00:22:11.980 and prosperity,

00:22:13.340 continuing the new

00:22:14.360 national custom

00:22:15.260 of Thanksgiving.

00:22:16.960 It was followed

00:22:17.700 by President

00:22:18.900 Chester A.

00:22:20.000 Arthur,

00:22:20.560 who had been

00:22:21.100 the receiver

00:22:23.480 of the Port

00:22:24.040 of New York,

00:22:24.840 rising to the

00:22:26.820 presidency

00:22:27.700 only after the

00:22:28.600 assassination

00:22:29.040 of James Garfield.

00:22:30.820 He issued

00:22:31.340 a Thanksgiving

00:22:31.980 proclamation-encouraging

00:22:33.280 charity.

00:22:34.440 He celebrated

00:22:35.200 with an elegant

00:22:36.140 White House dinner

00:22:37.020 that were more

00:22:38.280 typical of the

00:22:39.200 Gilded Age.

00:22:41.060 Grover Cleveland,

00:22:42.360 the only president

00:22:43.520 to serve a term,

00:22:45.820 lose a disputed

00:22:46.980 re-election,

00:22:47.660 and return as president,

00:22:49.600 other than

00:22:50.060 Donald J.

00:22:50.720 Trump,

00:22:51.480 promoted the holidays

00:22:52.440 as a time for

00:22:53.540 national gratitude

00:22:54.420 and family.

00:22:55.840 His two

00:22:56.520 non-consecutive terms

00:22:58.040 helped solidify

00:22:59.060 Thanksgiving

00:22:59.660 cultural place

00:23:01.100 in our history,

00:23:02.480 followed by

00:23:03.020 President Benjamin

00:23:03.980 Harrison,

00:23:04.480 who encouraged

00:23:05.480 Americans to

00:23:06.160 consider the

00:23:06.660 less fortunate,

00:23:08.100 reflecting the

00:23:09.320 rising social

00:23:10.820 gospel themes.

00:23:12.400 He observed

00:23:12.880 Thanksgiving again

00:23:14.140 with a formal

00:23:15.380 White House dinner,

00:23:17.320 followed by

00:23:18.360 President William

00:23:19.320 McKinley,

00:23:19.980 who celebrated

00:23:20.700 with patriotic

00:23:21.800 overtones during

00:23:22.680 America's imperial 0.63

00:23:24.100 area.

00:23:25.620 The Thanksgiving

00:23:26.440 proclamation stressed

00:23:27.680 national strength

00:23:29.100 and purpose.

00:23:30.560 Then, of course,

00:23:31.620 Theodore Roosevelt

00:23:32.480 held large

00:23:33.740 family feasts

00:23:34.660 and emphasized

00:23:36.080 outdoor recreation

00:23:37.260 as well as

00:23:37.980 civic virtue.

00:23:38.980 Thanksgiving became

00:23:39.820 more public

00:23:40.820 and more spirited

00:23:41.820 during his

00:23:42.880 presidency.

00:23:44.480 William Howard

00:23:45.240 Taft enjoyed

00:23:46.460 robust family

00:23:47.400 dinners and

00:23:48.200 humorously spoke

00:23:49.580 publicly about

00:23:50.620 overeating.

00:23:52.140 He was, of course,

00:23:53.040 our largest and

00:23:54.240 fattest president.

00:23:55.480 Woodrow Wilson,

00:23:57.720 perhaps our worst

00:23:58.880 president, celebrated

00:23:59.800 quietly, especially

00:24:00.960 during World War I,

00:24:02.500 when he emphasized

00:24:03.340 sacrifice and

00:24:04.820 service.

00:24:05.780 It was at this

00:24:06.460 time when Thanksgiving

00:24:07.280 began adopting

00:24:08.180 themes of wartime

00:24:10.040 unity.

00:24:11.720 President Warren

00:24:12.780 Harding used the

00:24:13.740 day to encourage

00:24:14.460 national recovery

00:24:15.420 after World War I.

00:24:17.360 He once again

00:24:18.120 observed additional

00:24:19.140 meals in a more

00:24:20.240 modest ceremony.

00:24:22.820 Calvin Coolidge,

00:24:24.180 Silent Cal, as he

00:24:25.460 was known, celebrated

00:24:27.160 simply, reflecting his

00:24:28.580 frugal nature.

00:24:30.220 He was the first to

00:24:31.260 accept a live turkey

00:24:32.440 sent to the White 0.71

00:24:33.220 House, an early

00:24:34.980 precursor to the

00:24:36.340 turkey pardon

00:24:37.960 custom.

00:24:38.500 My favorite story

00:24:39.160 about Calvin Coolidge

00:24:40.220 is a woman came up

00:24:42.220 to Calvin Coolidge

00:24:44.100 and said, I bet my

00:24:44.980 girlfriend that I

00:24:46.420 could get you to say

00:24:47.420 more than three

00:24:48.060 words.

00:24:49.200 And Silent Cal said,

00:24:50.440 you lose.

00:24:51.460 Herbert Hoover

00:24:53.660 marked Thanksgiving

00:24:54.700 during the Great

00:24:55.380 Depression with

00:24:56.080 messages of

00:24:56.880 resilience.

00:24:57.820 His dinners were

00:24:58.480 modest, given the

00:24:59.660 fact that we were

00:25:00.240 in the middle of a

00:25:00.940 national depression

00:25:02.220 and hardship.

00:25:03.680 It was President

00:25:04.520 Franklin D.

00:25:05.600 Roosevelt who moved

00:25:06.640 Thanksgiving earlier

00:25:07.820 to lengthen the

00:25:09.120 Christmas shopping

00:25:10.180 season.

00:25:11.180 At the Torum, they

00:25:11.800 called it Frank's

00:25:13.160 Giving after

00:25:14.320 President FDR.

00:25:16.100 He expanded the

00:25:17.520 holidays' commercial

00:25:18.460 and public

00:25:19.220 role.

00:25:20.620 A peppery Harry

00:25:21.700 S. Truman

00:25:22.480 formalized receiving

00:25:23.760 a Christmas turkey

00:25:24.760 and occasionally

00:25:25.500 hinting at sparing

00:25:27.060 it, laying the

00:25:27.760 groundwork for the

00:25:28.860 modern pardon of

00:25:30.820 the turkey.

00:25:32.320 President Truman

00:25:33.360 celebrated with

00:25:34.240 patriotic messages

00:25:35.320 during post-war

00:25:36.220 recovery.

00:25:37.880 Dwight D.

00:25:39.020 Eisenhower, very

00:25:40.820 underrated, perhaps

00:25:41.820 one of the greatest

00:25:42.640 presidents in

00:25:43.420 American history,

00:25:44.320 but so low-key that

00:25:46.380 people didn't

00:25:46.960 recognize the peace

00:25:48.840 and prosperity that

00:25:50.120 we had under

00:25:50.920 Ike.

00:25:51.280 He emphasized

00:25:52.280 family unity

00:25:53.980 and Cold War

00:25:54.880 optimism.

00:25:56.340 Thanksgiving became

00:25:57.360 firmly part of

00:25:58.260 televised American

00:25:59.720 culture.

00:26:00.980 It was, of course,

00:26:01.740 President Dwight D.

00:26:02.900 Eisenhower who, as

00:26:04.140 he was leaving,

00:26:05.400 warned us about the

00:26:06.420 encroaching party

00:26:07.620 of power of the

00:26:08.900 military-industrial

00:26:10.220 complex that we

00:26:12.100 would later know

00:26:12.880 as the deep

00:26:13.760 state.

00:26:14.140 Then, President

00:26:16.200 John F.

00:26:16.880 Kennedy, our

00:26:17.320 first Catholic

00:26:17.980 president, made

00:26:18.740 the first modern

00:26:19.700 non-pardon statement

00:26:21.540 noting Americans

00:26:22.460 shouldn't be hard-hearted

00:26:24.100 to their turkey.

00:26:25.720 His style modernized

00:26:27.360 the holiday's

00:26:28.080 tone, followed by

00:26:29.900 President Lyndon

00:26:31.060 Baines Johnson,

00:26:32.100 perhaps the most 0.98

00:26:32.700 corrupt president 0.62

00:26:33.540 in American history.

00:26:35.440 And given recent

00:26:36.220 years, that says a

00:26:37.140 lot.

00:26:38.060 He used Thanksgiving

00:26:39.060 proclamations to

00:26:40.080 discuss poverty and

00:26:41.160 civil rights, which 0.85

00:26:42.500 was ironic in view of

00:26:43.440 the fact that in the

00:26:44.200 Senate he'd been a

00:26:44.960 lifelong segregationist,

00:26:46.800 but he celebrated

00:26:47.720 with large Texas-style

00:26:49.560 meals.

00:26:51.060 President Richard

00:26:51.840 Nixon, the

00:26:52.500 president I knew

00:26:53.280 best, often spent

00:26:54.320 Thanksgiving at

00:26:55.060 Thanks David.

00:26:56.300 Observances were

00:26:57.200 much quieter and

00:26:58.180 low-key due to the

00:26:59.100 Vietnam War and

00:27:00.540 because of the

00:27:02.020 political tension in

00:27:03.220 the country.

00:27:04.460 And then, of course,

00:27:05.100 his successor,

00:27:05.940 President Gerald

00:27:06.660 Ford, promoted

00:27:07.520 national healing

00:27:08.460 after Watergate in

00:27:10.140 his Thanksgiving

00:27:11.180 proclamations.

00:27:12.800 He once again

00:27:13.620 hosted traditional

00:27:14.560 family dinners and

00:27:15.680 charity-focused

00:27:17.100 events.

00:27:18.560 Jimmy Carter

00:27:19.380 celebrated modestly

00:27:20.980 and highlighted

00:27:22.080 humanitarian themes.

00:27:23.560 Thanksgiving began to

00:27:24.480 include more public

00:27:25.860 volunteerism.

00:27:28.100 Ronald Reagan

00:27:29.060 popularized the

00:27:30.600 cheerful, photo-friendly

00:27:32.140 turkey event,

00:27:33.540 although it was

00:27:34.160 still not yet

00:27:35.060 called a pardon,

00:27:36.780 but Thanksgiving

00:27:37.500 finally became a

00:27:38.860 major media moment.

00:27:40.520 It was George H.W.

00:27:43.440 Bush who built on

00:27:44.380 the efforts of

00:27:45.240 Reagan, Coolidge,

00:27:46.960 and Kennedy to

00:27:47.700 establish the

00:27:48.460 former presidential

00:27:50.020 turkey pardon in

00:27:52.260 1989, celebrated

00:27:54.500 with messages of

00:27:55.700 global peace after

00:27:56.880 the Cold War.

00:27:58.880 President Bill

00:27:59.700 Clinton emphasized

00:28:00.800 community service and

00:28:02.460 held public

00:28:03.480 volunteer events.

00:28:04.660 The turkey pardon

00:28:05.400 now became annual and

00:28:07.720 nationally televised.

00:28:10.040 George W. Bush

00:28:11.320 used Thanksgiving to

00:28:12.540 honor troops, often

00:28:13.560 visiting military bases.

00:28:15.780 The holiday took on a

00:28:17.680 strong post-11

00:28:18.980 patriotic tone under

00:28:21.380 George W.

00:28:22.940 Barack Obama

00:28:23.820 expanded service

00:28:25.340 themes and began to

00:28:26.340 make a mockery of the

00:28:27.560 turkey pardon ceremony,

00:28:29.180 which was part of his

00:28:30.180 overall agenda, in my

00:28:31.400 opinion, to cheapen and

00:28:33.120 demean all American 0.97

00:28:34.260 culture as a

00:28:35.280 foreign usurper. 0.59

00:28:36.880 President Donald Trump

00:28:38.980 made the turkey pardon a

00:28:40.420 major media event and

00:28:41.740 highlighted economic

00:28:43.100 accomplishments in his

00:28:44.400 proclamations.

00:28:46.120 Thanksgivings remained

00:28:47.080 highly publicized with

00:28:48.500 zero reservations about

00:28:50.880 celebrating our colonial

00:28:52.280 past under Donald Trump

00:28:53.760 in his first term.

00:28:55.700 Joe Biden centered the

00:28:57.120 holiday on unity and

00:28:58.260 healing, at least that's

00:28:59.180 what we think he was

00:29:00.560 trying to say, although

00:29:01.740 if you go back at the

00:29:03.280 word salad, it's a little

00:29:04.560 hard to tell.

00:29:05.300 And of course, earlier

00:29:07.440 today, President Donald

00:29:09.180 Trump called on all

00:29:10.580 Americans to pray for our

00:29:12.760 nation on this

00:29:14.120 Thanksgiving holiday.

00:29:15.700 So as we referenced

00:29:17.420 briefly while giving you

00:29:18.900 this rundown of the

00:29:20.000 various presidents and

00:29:21.180 their Thanksgiving

00:29:22.220 celebrations, the

00:29:23.400 pardoning of the turkey

00:29:24.900 has become a part of

00:29:26.500 American lore.

00:29:27.840 Oftentimes, it's

00:29:29.120 attributed to President

00:29:30.160 George H.W. Bush, but

00:29:31.820 that is somewhat

00:29:33.240 incorrect.

00:29:34.760 Bush actually simply

00:29:35.820 built on a longstanding

00:29:37.080 tradition, you see.

00:29:38.140 The original turkey

00:29:39.280 pardon was done by

00:29:40.200 President Abraham

00:29:41.000 Lincoln.

00:29:42.040 Honest Abe had declared

00:29:43.540 Thanksgiving a national

00:29:45.360 holiday amidst the

00:29:46.300 Civil War and in the

00:29:47.760 spirit of bringing the

00:29:48.640 nation together during

00:29:49.660 its darkest hours.

00:29:50.880 So further demonstrate

00:29:52.540 mercy to a still

00:29:53.600 fragile republic, Honest

00:29:54.860 Abe spared a turkey who

00:29:56.820 his son, Tad, had

00:29:57.920 reportedly grown

00:29:59.080 attached to.

00:29:59.820 And thus, the lore of

00:30:01.620 the presidential turkey

00:30:02.940 pardon began there.

00:30:05.280 Then, in 1932, President

00:30:07.240 Franklin D. Roosevelt

00:30:08.260 received a turkey from

00:30:09.500 the Institute of Poultry

00:30:11.300 Industries, which he

00:30:12.360 opted not to take.

00:30:14.300 It instead went to a

00:30:15.800 children's hospital in

00:30:16.920 Georgia, not quite giving

00:30:18.120 it a pardon, but sparing

00:30:19.960 it.

00:30:20.800 President John F.

00:30:21.740 Kennedy, three days

00:30:22.560 before his assassination,

00:30:24.600 spared a turkey by saying,

00:30:26.620 let's keep him going, and

00:30:28.320 sending a 55-pound bird

00:30:30.320 back to the farm instead

00:30:32.440 of slaughtering it for

00:30:34.020 dinner.

00:30:35.160 Presidents Jimmy Carter

00:30:36.380 and Ronald Reagan both

00:30:37.760 spared turkeys as well

00:30:39.060 as during their tenures

00:30:40.800 of office, although it had

00:30:42.300 not become a formalized

00:30:43.960 tradition quite yet.

00:30:45.760 Reagan was the first 0.98

00:30:46.640 president to coin the

00:30:47.920 term pardon when

00:30:49.460 referencing the turkey

00:30:50.920 vernacular, which

00:30:52.280 therefore stuck.

00:30:53.940 Then George H.W.

00:30:55.780 Bush, that's Bush

00:30:57.300 senior, hoping to cling to

00:30:58.580 the likelihood factor of

00:30:59.920 Reagan, made the turkey

00:31:01.580 pardon an official

00:31:02.580 ceremony as he hoped to

00:31:04.540 endear himself to the

00:31:05.560 American people.

00:31:06.760 That was not incredibly

00:31:08.540 successful for President

00:31:09.780 Bush as the new world 0.57

00:31:10.880 order proponents was the

00:31:13.420 rare one-term president

00:31:15.180 failing to win re-election,

00:31:17.620 something I predicted at

00:31:18.680 the time.

00:31:19.740 I was admonished by many

00:31:21.440 Republicans about it, but

00:31:22.800 he did formalize the turkey

00:31:24.720 pardon and the annual

00:31:26.000 tradition that will live

00:31:27.120 on throughout the

00:31:28.480 annals of time.

00:31:30.060 But Bush senior should

00:31:31.480 never be credited as its

00:31:33.020 creator, as better

00:31:34.200 presidents through our

00:31:34.980 history, actually are the

00:31:36.300 ones who deserve that

00:31:38.080 honor.

00:31:39.580 And then, of course, in

00:31:40.600 his classic trolling

00:31:41.880 style, President Donald

00:31:43.060 Trump re-pardoned the

00:31:44.740 turkeys who were pardoned

00:31:45.820 by President Joe Biden

00:31:46.920 last year, saying earlier

00:31:48.640 today that the auto pen

00:31:50.460 may have been used by Biden

00:31:52.720 to pardon those turkeys 1.00

00:31:53.980 and President Trump

00:31:55.160 wanted to make sure that

00:31:56.780 those pardons were valid.

00:31:59.080 President Trump said,

00:32:00.280 so I have the official

00:32:01.100 duty to determine and I

00:32:02.480 have determined that last

00:32:03.980 year's turkey pardons were

00:32:05.320 totally invalid as the

00:32:07.480 turkeys of about every

00:32:09.340 other person that was

00:32:10.440 pardoned were signed with

00:32:11.860 an auto pen.

00:32:13.440 The turkeys, known as

00:32:14.560 Peach and Blossom last

00:32:15.820 year, have there before

00:32:16.960 been located and they were

00:32:18.580 actually on their way to

00:32:19.460 be processed, in other 0.99

00:32:20.520 words, to be killed. 0.99

00:32:21.360 But I have stopped that 0.93

00:32:23.260 journey and I am

00:32:24.840 officially pardoning them

00:32:27.180 and they will not be

00:32:29.160 served this Thanksgiving.

00:32:31.680 Gotta love Donald Trump,

00:32:32.820 the guy's sense of humor

00:32:33.760 is beyond belief.

00:32:35.300 Additionally, the turkey

00:32:36.420 pardoning this year was

00:32:37.720 named Gobble and Waddle

00:32:39.600 and President Trump said

00:32:41.140 he wanted to name them

00:32:42.200 after Chuck Schumer and

00:32:44.000 Nancy Pelosi, but then 0.90

00:32:46.500 quickly reconsidered for

00:32:48.140 the understandable reasons.

00:32:50.120 President Trump said the

00:32:51.180 turkeys being pardoned

00:32:52.160 today go by the names

00:32:53.800 Gobble and Waddle.

00:32:54.980 When I first saw their

00:32:56.020 pictures, I was going to

00:32:56.980 call them Chuck and

00:32:57.760 Nancy, but then I realized

00:32:59.480 I wouldn't be pardoning

00:33:00.500 them as I would never

00:33:01.760 pardon those two.

00:33:03.800 Donald Trump always tells

00:33:04.960 you what he really thinks.

00:33:08.660 We should give thanks to a

00:33:10.220 president who's adept at

00:33:11.440 kind of trolling the media

00:33:14.140 and the political elites and

00:33:15.360 making a mockery of those

00:33:16.540 two globalists who wish to

00:33:18.160 be taken serious as our

00:33:19.720 overlords.

00:33:21.500 But one of the things

00:33:22.580 that I'm thankful for are

00:33:24.180 the lower prices during

00:33:26.160 this Thanksgiving.

00:33:27.060 Another sign that

00:33:28.020 President Trump's economic

00:33:29.400 claims are actually working

00:33:30.620 the price for a

00:33:31.600 Thanksgiving meal today is

00:33:33.740 lower than it has been in

00:33:34.840 the last four years.

00:33:36.860 And gas prices are also

00:33:38.460 nearing four-year lows.

00:33:40.900 The American Farm Bureau

00:33:42.200 found that the classic

00:33:43.660 American Thanksgiving dinner

00:33:45.040 for 10 people will now

00:33:46.800 cost an average of $55.18,

00:33:49.820 which is down 5% from one

00:33:52.380 year ago.

00:33:53.840 Throughout the Biden

00:33:54.740 presidency, the cost of a

00:33:56.300 Thanksgiving meal surged 14%

00:33:58.940 in the first year of 2021,

00:34:01.180 up to $53.31, which was a

00:34:06.100 record high for Thanksgiving

00:34:07.940 dinner.

00:34:08.920 The price then jumped

00:34:09.920 another 20% the following

00:34:12.080 year of Biden's presidency to

00:34:14.540 $64.05, but by the time

00:34:17.840 Biden left office, prices

00:34:19.320 for Thanksgiving had risen by

00:34:21.020 24% overall.

00:34:24.100 Additionally, the national

00:34:25.540 gas average was $3.05 as of

00:34:28.680 Tuesday, the lowest number

00:34:29.960 recorded since the COVID-19

00:34:32.160 pandemic put a majority of

00:34:33.760 drivers off the road.

00:34:36.020 This has come as a result of

00:34:37.440 the precipitous drop in the

00:34:38.880 cost of crude oil, which

00:34:40.380 has become 17% cheaper

00:34:42.300 since August of last year.

00:34:47.720 The national average reached an

00:34:49.340 insane $5.16 per gallon of gas

00:34:53.140 in June of 20 of 22.

00:34:55.480 So it's clear, despite the media

00:34:57.120 noise and Democrats' spin,

00:34:58.680 President Trump's policies are

00:34:59.960 helping the American families and

00:35:01.960 the masses see how much they're

00:35:03.400 saving during this Thanksgiving

00:35:05.240 holiday.

00:35:06.520 I'm Roger Stone.

00:35:07.540 You're listening to The Stone

00:35:08.480 Zone.

00:35:08.900 We've got more on this

00:35:09.920 Thanksgiving, so please don't

00:35:11.660 touch that dial.

00:35:16.320 The Stone Zone.

00:35:18.200 Entertaining and informative.

00:35:20.360 On the Red Apple Podcast Network.

00:35:23.200 Welcome back to The Stone Zone.

00:35:25.140 I so give thanks for those words of

00:35:27.640 praise from Vice President J.D.

00:35:29.940 Vance.

00:35:30.320 Well, the Thanksgiving holiday

00:35:32.520 travel this year shattered all

00:35:34.660 previous records.

00:35:36.380 In 2025 was the previous record,

00:35:38.660 with estimates this year of some

00:35:40.100 81.8 million Americans leaving

00:35:42.980 home to travel over 50 miles as part

00:35:45.260 of their festivities.

00:35:46.740 According to predictions from the

00:35:49.080 American Auto Association, 73.3

00:35:51.780 million Americans will travel more

00:35:53.620 than 50 miles on the roads, while

00:35:56.120 another 6.6 million will take

00:35:58.480 domestic flights, and another 2.5

00:36:01.160 million will travel by train or

00:36:02.740 other means, such as bus, to spend

00:36:05.120 time with friends or family over the

00:36:07.600 Thanksgiving season.

00:36:09.080 This is an increase of 2% from last

00:36:11.820 year and a 5.2% increase from 2019.

00:36:16.560 The Vice President of the AAA Travel,

00:36:19.680 Stacey Barber, said Thanksgiving

00:36:21.800 travel numbers are always impressive

00:36:24.060 because this holiday has become

00:36:25.660 synonymous with heading out of town

00:36:27.660 to spend time with loved ones.

00:36:29.340 People are willing to brave crowds

00:36:30.960 and make last-minute adjustments to

00:36:32.760 their plans to make lifelong memories,

00:36:35.180 whether it's visiting extended family

00:36:36.740 or meeting up with friends.

00:36:39.460 The numbers show that the globalist

00:36:42.040 plan to break our spirits, divide our

00:36:44.220 communities, and atomize and isolate

00:36:46.800 us from others have been largely

00:36:48.620 unsuccessful.

00:36:50.520 They put us through psychological terror

00:36:52.440 through the COVID pandemic, and it worked

00:36:54.140 for a while, but the public has snapped

00:36:56.900 out of it.

00:36:58.360 I sense a new desire to communicate and

00:37:01.480 contact their loved ones and bridge

00:37:03.320 potential divides to be as near as other

00:37:06.280 Americans as possible.

00:37:07.880 To me, that's what Thanksgiving is all

00:37:09.680 about, and we hope that you enjoyed this

00:37:12.220 holiday as we did.

00:37:14.920 We hope your travel plans are not thwarted

00:37:17.900 due to Thanksgiving snowfall.

00:37:19.340 This year's Thanksgiving demonstrated

00:37:20.800 unreasonably frigid weather in the

00:37:23.320 northeastern United States.

00:37:25.460 Meteorologist Ben Knoll wrote earlier

00:37:27.620 today, for parts of the Dakotas,

00:37:29.700 Minnesota, and Michigan, Thanksgiving snow

00:37:31.480 depth this year could be greater than more

00:37:34.060 than a decade.

00:37:35.580 Up to two feet of snow could fall today in

00:37:39.260 the upper peninsula of Michigan and

00:37:40.940 northern Wisconsin as strong winds cause

00:37:43.800 blizzard-like conditions.

00:37:46.340 Thanksgiving was anticipated to be the

00:37:48.360 snowiest in more than 25 years by

00:37:50.360 meteorologists.

00:37:51.760 So much for the global warming, huh?

00:37:55.180 Nevertheless, there was never a better

00:37:56.740 time to be inside, watch football,

00:37:59.540 eat delicious food, including some nice

00:38:02.640 rigato, and joining precious times with

00:38:05.540 friends and family than today's frigid

00:38:07.960 Thanksgiving.

00:38:08.760 Make sure to drive home safely today and

00:38:10.900 stay secure as we love all of you Stone

00:38:14.680 Zone listeners.

00:38:15.640 We're here five days a week in the fight

00:38:18.820 to save America, and, well, we'll be with

00:38:22.340 you tomorrow as always.

00:38:24.440 I do have to question whether AI is

00:38:26.880 ruining Thanksgiving.

00:38:28.640 Does something seem a bit off during your

00:38:30.880 Thanksgiving dinner today or tonight?

00:38:33.640 Were the dishes not as cohesive as usual?

00:38:36.180 Did you find some bizarre taste notes in some

00:38:39.080 otherwise holiday classics?

00:38:41.060 If you answered yes to any of this, the

00:38:43.100 culprit could be AI.

00:38:44.480 There's an influx of AI-generated content in

00:38:48.920 the food-blocking community with fake

00:38:50.960 images designed to make people feel that

00:38:52.900 they are, what they're reading is

00:38:54.760 authentic.

00:38:55.960 Much of this content has been geared around

00:38:58.120 providing the greatest and tastiest

00:38:59.740 Thanksgiving dinners in recent weeks.

00:39:02.940 So, on this Thanksgiving, we have much to be

00:39:06.260 thankful for.

00:39:07.020 In my case, as I said earlier, I am thankful for my

00:39:11.120 wife's full and complete recovery from aggressive

00:39:13.660 stage 4 cancer.

00:39:14.820 But I'm particularly thankful to the Lord for my

00:39:18.340 freedom, for the pardon that President Trump gave

00:39:21.500 me when he recognized that I was targeted in the

00:39:24.380 Russian collusion hoax.

00:39:26.100 And now I pray that those who tried to destroy

00:39:29.140 President Donald Trump, great patriots like General

00:39:32.720 Michael Flynn and myself and our families, are held

00:39:35.940 accountable and that they see justice.

00:39:38.180 That's what I pray for on this Thanksgiving.

00:39:40.820 Thank you for joining us in the Stone Zone until

00:39:42.960 tomorrow.

00:39:43.880 God bless you and Godspeed.

00:40:19.780 The Black Friday BOGO sale is here at All Family Pharmacy.

00:40:23.820 And let me tell you, this is the kind of deal that actually

00:40:26.600 matters.
