00:07:10.000 Senate passes Trump's agenda bill after marathon voting session.

00:07:15.000 Check this out from the Washington Post, how every senator voted on the reconciliation bill.

00:07:19.000 And as you can see, it was 50-50.

00:07:22.000 J.D. Vance traveled down to cast the tiebreaking vote.

00:07:26.000 WAPO says Senate narrowly passed the budget reconciliation bill on Tuesday with J.D. Vance casting a tie-breaking vote.

00:07:33.000 Three Republicans, Rand Paul, Tom Tillis, and Susan Collins voted against the bill.

00:07:38.000 The measure passed after nearly 48 consecutive hours of reading, debating, and voting on the amendments.

00:07:43.000 The bill includes trillions in tax cuts from President Trump's first term, implements new promises from his campaign, and will spend billions on immigration.

00:07:51.000 I would appreciate it if they got a little specific and said it will spend billions on deporting illegal immigrants. 1.00

00:07:57.000 So what comes next in the Senate reconciliation process?

00:08:00.000 It's now going to go to the House.

00:08:02.000 The bill will return to the House where another majority vote for the full chamber is needed to approve the legislation with the Senate changes.

00:08:08.000 If it passes, the final version will be sent to Trump to sign and the bill will become law.

00:08:14.000 So we'll see.

00:08:15.000 The first thing is, obviously, we are not convinced it's going to make it through the House, but we can get to that in a second.

00:08:21.000 I'm curious if you guys are excited about the bill.

00:08:24.000 Are you happy for it?

00:08:25.000 I think it's generally good.

00:08:28.000 As good as you can expect with as slim of a majority as Republicans have in both chambers.

00:08:33.000 There's a lot to like on the immigration front.

00:08:35.000 You mentioned that.

00:08:36.000 $175 billion towards immigration enforcement and border security through 2029, which includes $29.85 billion for ICE to hire 8,500 new enforcement officers and expand deportation operations, along with $45 billion to increase ICE detention capacity with more adult and family residential center beds.

00:08:55.000 Also, $46.55 billion for border wall construction.

00:08:58.000 I think the immigration aspect is the strongest part of this bill.

00:09:02.000 The Medicaid for illegals thing is kind of tricky.

00:09:04.000 You have Senator Eric Schmidt claiming that they're kicking off 1.4 illegal immigrants.

00:09:09.000 It's a little bit more complicated than that.

00:09:11.000 Basically, how they structured it, because the complete removal was killed by the Senate parliamentarian under the Byrd rule.

00:09:18.000 What it does is it reduces the federal matching rate for states that provide Medicaid to illegal immigrants from 90% to 80%, and then also lowers the amount of federal emergency Medicaid spending on emergency room visits for illegal.

00:09:35.000 So it's not a full moratorium, and it doesn't kick in until October of 2026.

00:09:39.000 Interesting.

00:09:40.000 That's mediocre.

00:09:42.000 I agree with you about the immigration stuff.

00:09:45.000 I do think that making the tax cuts permanent are good.

00:09:49.000 I think that people haven't given enough thought or you don't hear people talking about enough how bad for the economy it would be if they didn't make the tax cut permanent.

00:10:00.000 You hear the left complaining about, oh, you know, rich don't pay their fair share, et cetera, et cetera. 0.99

00:10:04.000 Everyone knows that's bullshit. 0.97

00:10:05.000 Everyone knows that the rich pay all the taxes and that people, like 50% of the population, doesn't even contribute. 1.00

00:10:12.000 The NFA stuff is obviously bad.

00:10:15.000 It's cool that you don't have to pay $200 anymore for suppressors and for short barrel rifles and short barrel shotguns.

00:10:20.000 But the really onerous part of the NFA is still there.

00:10:24.000 You still have to provide fingerprints.

00:10:26.000 You still have to be on file with the ATF.

00:10:28.000 You still have to notify the ATF to travel across state lines with an SBR or an SBS.

00:10:36.000 I don't know everything that's in it, obviously.

00:10:39.000 But like I said, I think that the funding for the immigration stuff is the best thing about it.

00:10:44.000 The tax cuts are very good.

00:10:45.000 Then everything else, I'm still kind of wishy-washy on.

00:10:48.000 Did you guys hear that the Trump Bedman's already denaturalized at least one person, stripping their citizenship?

00:10:54.000 Love to hear it.

00:10:54.000 Yeah, it was a UK-born individual who came here and was distributing child sexual abuse materials.

00:11:03.000 Citizenship gone.

00:11:05.000 It was funny.

00:11:05.000 I was talking to Carl Benjamin earlier and he was like, we don't want him back.

00:11:08.000 And I was like, well, he's yours.

00:11:15.000 But so the immigration stuff, I think it's so overwhelmingly good.

00:11:21.000 I really don't care all that much about the rest, to be honest.

00:11:25.000 They already took our, they're already over-regulating our firearm suppressors.

00:11:30.000 And that's so sure I could want more.

00:11:34.000 But these things are already happening.

00:11:35.000 So if really what this bill is, the next move we're going to make is get Trump his funding for controlling immigration, then I just say, okay.

00:11:43.000 You know, I saw a post from Mike Cernovich.

00:11:45.000 He's completely correct.

00:11:45.000 He said the debt is not our most immediate problem right now.

00:11:49.000 The mass migration is our major concern, is our major problem. 1.00

00:11:54.000 And the crazy thing is, too, on top of this, the obvious thing, if Democrats win, they're going to spend $10 trillion in the deficit.

00:12:00.000 It's going to be substantially worse.

00:12:02.000 So, you know, with respect to Massey, Paul, and even Elon Musk saying this debt stuff is destroying us, it is.

00:12:11.000 It is.

00:12:12.000 But we've got more pressing issues in the short term.

00:12:16.000 If we can solve these short-term issues, we can pull out of the tailspin and start correcting these in the long term.

00:12:20.000 So this one big, beautiful bill is the Trump agenda manifested into a bill.

00:12:26.000 So if you trust what Trump has to say in this bill and you believe that he had a, what was it, when he won the election with a pot and he had a mandate when he won the election, then I think you should be supporting this bill.

00:12:37.000 It came down to a 50-51 vote.

00:12:39.000 The three holdouts was one, Susan Collins from Maine. 0.98

00:12:43.000 She likes to vote as a centrist because it plays well to her audience over there.

00:12:46.000 Then also Republican Senator Tom Tillis from North Carolina, one of the guys who voted no, is more of a moderate in his speech complaining about why he didn't vote for the bill.

00:12:55.000 He was really upset about the Medicare cuts and he said it would end up knocking something like 600,000 People in his state off Medicare, off of Medicare as a result of these cuts.

00:13:04.000 I think they put in some necessary work provisions and that Medicare needs to have some changes made to it, some reforms made to it, if we want to see it as a long-term program that the government is going to be able to maintain, that's going to be able to stay tenable.

00:13:19.000 And then, of course, there is the Libertarian grandstanders who voted against the bill, and that is Senator Rand Paul.

00:13:25.000 I think that we need to have a serious conversation about what the goals of these libertarians really are.

00:13:30.000 They need to swallow their pride and vote for Trump's one big, beautiful bill.

00:13:34.000 As you guys were saying, the debt is an issue in our country, but it is far from the number one issue.

00:13:39.000 As far as it goes for me, I believe immigration tops that issue by leaps and bounds. 0.94

00:13:44.000 So that's very important.

00:13:46.000 And then they had to give Lisa Murkowski a bunch of sweeteners to get her to vote yes from Alaska. 1.00

00:13:50.000 So if Rand Paul wanted to be able to influence this bill and cut $100 billion from it, which they increased to give to Lisa Murkowski, maybe he should have voted to support Trump's bill.

00:13:59.000 Do you hate Democrats more or libertarians?

00:14:03.000 That's a tough one.

00:14:04.000 I don't know.

00:14:04.000 And I'll give you an honest libertarian a lot.

00:14:06.000 It's hard to give you a definitive answer there because as far as I'm concerned, the Libertarians are voting with the Democrats here.

00:14:12.000 Massey is voting against the Trump agenda.

00:14:14.000 Rand Paul is voting against the Trump agenda. 0.80

00:14:16.000 These are loser grand standards, according to Donald Trump.

00:14:19.000 Okay, well, let me actually half agree with a lot on this one.

00:14:23.000 I actually think Massey is great.

00:14:24.000 I think Rand Paul is great.

00:14:25.000 Rand Paul said he would not kill the bill.

00:14:27.000 If it came down to it and he had to vote for it, he would.

00:14:29.000 He didn't because J.D. Vance broke the tie.

00:14:31.000 So Rand Paul said this to me.

00:14:33.000 I don't believe he would have let it tank.

00:14:36.000 So I think he's publicly saying, I don't need to vote for it.

00:14:38.000 I don't like it.

00:14:39.000 I'm not going to.

00:14:40.000 Massey's staunchly like, nah.

00:14:42.000 I jokingly, half jokingly asked him, what if they slipped and repealed the entire NFA in there?

00:14:46.000 And then he started laughing.

00:14:47.000 Like, how are you going to not vote for it then?

00:14:49.000 He told me that he would vote for the bill if they split it into two bills, where one of them was Trump's priorities in the tax cuts, and the other bill was everything else.

00:15:01.000 He said he might support that.

00:15:04.000 So here's the issue I take.

00:15:06.000 I don't take issue largely with Messie and Rand Paul, but the general libertarian, I mean, y'all hear me argue with some of these libertarians.

00:15:16.000 Their attitude, we had one just recently with Billy Binion.

00:15:20.000 And with all due respect, it was nice.

00:15:23.000 I appreciate the conversation.

00:15:25.000 My takeaway view from the libertarians were Democrats have done illegal things for a long time.

00:15:31.000 You cannot rectify or get accountability for those things because we don't want to go that far.

00:15:38.000 So the bad things are currently happening.

00:15:39.000 They already happened.

00:15:40.000 They're going to happen again.

00:15:41.000 But don't you dare do anything because that means you're going to add to the happenings.

00:15:43.000 That's the problem with libertarians is they're like, well, you know, we shouldn't do this and we're so principled and et cetera, which is, it's fine to be like, you know, to have those opinions.

00:15:52.000 But when it comes down to it, at the end of the day, power is a zero-sum game.

00:15:57.000 If you do not exercise power when you have it, when your opponents have power, they will exercise it and they're going to do things that you hate.

00:16:05.000 So to say, well, you know, it's better to be principled and not do things that violate my principles, that's important to me.

00:16:13.000 Well, it's cool, but you shouldn't be in a position to be making decisions about how power is used because you're not going to use power.

00:16:20.000 And the libertarians being 3% at the highest point they've ever been, at the highest point they've ever been, they were like 3%.

00:16:27.000 That's being significant influence.

00:16:31.000 So they shouldn't be like, oh, no, we're not going to, we're not going to, we're going to be principled and we're not going to exercise power.

00:16:36.000 While you have the opportunity to make things better, you need to make things better if you can.

00:16:41.000 I think they often look at the world as it should be and not as it is, i.e.

00:16:44.000 they don't live in reality.

00:16:45.000 But I will say that Kentucky's a very interesting state electorally.

00:16:51.000 They are a longtime Democratic stronghold who kind of flipped to Trump in 2016, but still voted Democrat multiple times for the governorship.

00:17:01.000 The last, I think, three governors were all Democrats in Kentucky.

00:17:05.000 They're kind of Maverick voters and they like Thomas Massey.

00:17:09.000 So even though this MAGAPAC and APAC are going after him hard, unless they find truly the perfect candidate, he's not going anywhere.

00:17:18.000 APAC's been going after Thomas Massey since 2012.

00:17:22.000 I like Massey.

00:17:22.000 Kentucky's producing some crazy politicians between Senator McConnell, between Rand Paul, between Thomas Massey.

00:17:30.000 I don't know if they're sending their best.

00:17:31.000 The important thing to understand about Mitch McConnell in Kentucky is that he was like the Murkowski for Kentucky, meaning he brought home the bacon, right?

00:17:39.000 Like he was in Congress, in the Senate, always making sure that Kentucky got its share of federal dollars.

00:17:48.000 And so they'll always love him for that, even if they kind of don't like him personally.

00:17:53.000 If every member of Congress was Thomas Massey, the Trump agenda would be complete.

00:17:58.000 It would be finger snapped and we're good to go.

00:17:59.000 It is all of these politicians that demand special deals.

00:18:06.000 You've got Susan Collins right here, and her opposition says, I'm pleased the bill contains a special fund that I propose to provide some assistance to our rural hospitals, but it's not sufficient to offset the other changes in the Medicaid system.

00:18:16.000 Let me just simplify what she's saying.

00:18:18.000 My state deserves special sweetheart provisions if I'm going to agree to what you want.

00:18:24.000 If every politician just said we shouldn't be spending this money, we should focus on the agenda to make America better, then let's roll.

00:18:30.000 Fine, we'd be good.

00:18:31.000 But then they'd lose to the politicians who would say that I will get our state better deals. 0.54

00:18:35.000 Yes, my point is quite literally, if politicians had integrity and actually were standing on principle, like Thomas Massey does and ran Paul, Trump would get everything he wants without issue.

00:18:48.000 The problem is most politicians are going to pander, lie, cheat, and steal.

00:18:51.000 They're to some degree going to be commies.

00:18:53.000 Zoran Mamdani is just, he's Susan Collins times 10.

00:18:57.000 Susan Collins is going to say, give my district special privileges, give me free stuff, and I'll vote for your bill. 1.00

00:19:04.000 And then when they say no, she goes, fine, I won't vote for it.

00:19:30.000 Speaking of extra pork in the bills, the Republicans, because they couldn't lose another vote, had to get Lisa Markowski in from Alaska, who got a ton of extra pork in the bill. 1.00

00:19:42.000 He said the bill includes over $500 billion in new spending, and at the end, they get in the end, to get the vote of the Alaska Senator, billions and billions more were added, said Rand Paul of Kentucky.

00:19:52.000 It really kind of begs the question, though, why wouldn't he try to leverage his vote instead of Lisa's to try to help reduce the extra pork in this bill by some $500 billion or whatnot?

00:20:02.000 Because it's easier to spend money than to cut money politically.

00:20:06.000 Well, I'm not saying that's a good answer or it's the morally right answer.

00:20:11.000 But he would have been able to leverage, instead of getting the sweetheart deals for Alaska, she could have voted against it. 0.95

00:20:20.000 I mean, I guess I don't understand why he doesn't leverage his vote more, but maybe I'm missing something.

00:20:28.000 Marjorie Taylor Green trashes drama over Trump's big beautiful bill, says she can't imagine it will pass the House.

00:20:34.000 So big news that Trump's agenda has succeeded in the House only because of J.D. Vance's tiebreaker.

00:20:40.000 Now we're hearing from Marjorie Taylor Green, as well as the obvious components here.

00:20:44.000 It's not going to make it to the House.

00:20:46.000 So you were mentioning before the show, Chip Roy says no.

00:20:48.000 Thomas Massey is an obvious no.

00:20:50.000 He's been saying no nonstop.

00:20:51.000 So they're already at a tied vote.

00:20:54.000 So what happens then?

00:20:54.000 Marjorie won't be the vote that kills the bill.

00:20:57.000 But there's probably pro Trump.

00:20:59.000 She won't do it.

00:21:01.000 But all you need is one more defector, and it's not going to do it.

00:21:03.000 But who would that be?

00:21:04.000 So I'm reading Chip Roy and Massey are both the Digit Hawks.

00:21:08.000 Ralph Northam from South Carolina told reporters he currently opposes advancing the bill out of rules committee after the Senate's changes.

00:21:15.000 I don't know if they're going to massage him too.

00:21:17.000 They could lose up to three.

00:21:19.000 Yeah, I mean, they'll massage, they'll give kickbacks, and there's probably Norman.

00:21:23.000 Norman, I was like, yeah, no, Norman.

00:21:25.000 And there will probably be amendments in the House version as well.

00:21:29.000 I mean, just a couple of the things in the Senate version that are kind of disturbing.

00:21:34.000 The provision that prevents Medicaid funding for Planned Parenthood only lasts for one year.

00:21:41.000 And also the no tax on tips and no tax on overtime only lasts for three years.

00:21:45.000 So the way that the OMB director Rust vote is able to say that the bill is deficit neutral is because the CBO scores over a period of 10 years.

00:21:54.000 They did this exact same accounting trick with the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, which is where they made the corporate tax cuts permanent and they made the middle class tax cuts temporary because they knew that would be politically easier to pass an extension on.

00:22:08.000 But when they passed it the first time, making that part temporary made the 10-year scoring window look deficit neutral.

00:22:15.000 So they're doing the same thing with this three-year provision on no tax on tips and no tax on overtime.

00:22:19.000 Because if you scored the bill over those first three years, it would increase the deficit significantly.

00:22:24.000 But because it's scored over 10, assuming those things expire, which they won't, Congress will obviously vote to extend them.

00:22:30.000 It is, of course, a huge budget buster.

00:22:33.000 So that's like the huge rub here that I think the Trump administration is not being super honest about.

00:22:38.000 And they keep claiming that they are doing no tax on Social Security, which isn't true.

00:22:42.000 It's only under certain conditions, which they're like, oh, well, it's 88% of seniors covered under Social Security.

00:22:48.000 But what about people who take their Social Security before the age of 65?
