Summary

In this episode, Hilary Duff joins me to talk about the need for colonial reparations, and why they should go back to the beginning of the supply chain to find out who actually built the slave-holding system that led to the slave trade, and how much should be paid to the descendants of those who died on the high seas trying to stop the slavery trade. 00:00:00.000 We need more people pushing back with this kind of facts against the nonsense that's constantly delivered from some of these lunatics on CNN. Check it out.
00:00:09.000 You'll see for yourself. It's just epic.
00:00:12.000 Well, this is coming when all of this wealth, and you hear about it, comes as England is facing rising costs of living, a living crisis, austerity budget cuts, and so on.
00:00:23.000 And then you have those who are asking for reparations for colonialism, and they're wondering, you know, $100 billion, $24 billion here and there, $500 million there.
00:00:34.000 Some people want to be paid back, and members of the public are wondering, why are we suffering when you are...
00:00:40.000 You have all of this vast wealth.
00:00:41.000 Those are legitimate concerns.
00:00:44.000 Well, I think you're right about reparations in terms of if people want it, though, what they need to do is you always need to go back to the beginning of a supply chain.
00:00:51.000 Where was the beginning of the supply chain?
00:00:54.000 That was in Africa.
00:00:55.000 And when, across the entire world, when slavery was taking place, which was the first nation in the world that abolished slavery?
00:01:02.000 The first nation in the world to abolish it.
00:01:04.000 It was started by William Wilberforce, was the British.
00:01:07.000 In Great Britain, they abolished slavery.
00:01:10.000 2000... Naval men died on the high seas trying to stop slavery.
00:01:15.000 Why? Because the African kings were rounding up their own people.
00:01:19.000 They had them on cages waiting in the beaches.
00:01:21.000 No one was running into Africa to get them.
00:01:23.000 And I think you're totally right.
00:01:25.000 If reparations need to be paid, we need to go right back to the beginning of that supply chain and say who was rounding up their own people and having them handcuffing cages.
00:01:34.000 Absolutely, that's where they should start.
00:01:36.000 And maybe, I don't know, the descendants of those families where they died in the high seas trying to stop the slavery, that those families should receive something too, I think, at the same time.
00:01:47.000 It's an interesting discussion, Hilary.
00:01:49.000 Thank you very much. I appreciate it.
00:01:50.000 We'll continue to discuss in the future.
00:01:54.000 So remember the impact of the supply chain crisis on the economy during- Well, guys, what do you think?
00:02:00.000 It's certainly an interesting topic of conversation, huh, Don?
00:02:04.000 You got nothing, buddy.
00:02:05.000 Don Lemon somehow makes the death of the queen about reparations because everything's about reparations, but he does it to a historian.
00:02:13.000 Who actually knows what she's talking about and doesn't just prescribe to, like, CNN's history of the world, which is, like, probably like Monty Python's, but even dumber.
00:02:26.000 Watch this.
00:02:27.000 It's the best own I've seen in recent times.
00:02:31.000 It just got shut down amazingly.
00:02:34.000 And maybe that is a conversation we should have because, you know, clearly it doesn't serve their purposes, so that'll likely never happen, but...
00:02:41.000 You know, we all know a little bit more for having watched it.
