The mayor wants to mandate that all children be vaccinated, but the FOP doesn't want to go that route. The two sides disagree, and now the mayor is suing CPS to force them to allow their children to get them. Will CPS agree to a vaccine mandate? Or will they continue to refuse to do so? Will the mayor get what she wants, or will the cops walk off the job? Is it the mayor or the police union that is the problem, or is it the vaccine mandate issue? 00:04:16.000 CEO Martinez has indicated that, and again, in agreement with the union, so that is one circumstantial difference, that every adult in the system has to be vaccinated.

00:04:26.000 And that agreement was reached months ago, and they've been working very hard to execute on that agreement, a reach with all the collective bargaining agencies that employ folks at CPS. So it's a very different set of circumstances, and I think he believes it's going to be a very small group that remains either unvaccinated or not signing up.

00:04:53.000 So you asked the question of why the lawsuit.

00:04:57.000 Because we believe that the FOP leadership is trying to foment an illegal workstopic to strike, pure and simple.

00:05:13.000 It's in their collective bargaining agreement, and it's a matter of state law.

00:05:16.000 What we've seen from the Fraternal Order of Police, and particularly the leadership, is a lot of misinformation, a lot of half-truths, and frankly flat-out lies, in order to induce An insurrection.

00:05:29.000 And so we want to make it very, very clear that the law is on our side.

00:05:36.000 And what he said even after what I heard that he said even after the lawsuit was filed and we notified them.
