In this episode, I talk about the new guidelines from the American Academy of Pediatrics regarding children struggling with obesity and how they should be treated early and aggressively, including meds for kids as young as 12, and surgery for those young as 13. I also talk about why we should encourage kids to get outside and get some exercise. We live in an instant gratification society. We want drugs and surgeries for every little thing we can get our hands on. Let s not just focus on those things, let s focus on the things that can help us solve the problem. Let s stop listening to the clowns and start doing something about it. I mean, why not encourage people to go outside and exercise more? Why not encourage more physical activity and less processed foods? What s the difference between obesity and asthma? Why is it so important for kids to be outside and active? And why is it more important than getting good at sports? I'll tell you why kids should be out in the outdoors and getting some exercise and playing in the dirt. I'll give you my thoughts on this. 00:00:00.000Wow. So, from the American Academy of Pediatrics.
00:00:06.000Children struggling with obesity should be evaluated and treated early and aggressively, including with medications for kids as young as 12 and surgery for those as young as 13, according to new guidelines from the American Academy of Pediatrics.
00:00:53.000Obesity, surgery for kids as young as 13, and medications?
00:01:00.000How about maybe we look at lifestyle choices?
00:01:04.000I mean, seriously, I don't see nearly the amount of kids exercising like they used to.
00:01:12.000I see kids on more processed foods than probably ever.
00:01:16.000I see kids sitting on couches playing video games all the time.
00:01:20.000That's why I've been such a big proponent of some of the stuff from the outdoors.
00:01:24.000Maybe, maybe folks, if we, like, Feed them healthy food and encourage them to be physically active and exercise rather than maybe just receive participation medals and then sending them off to surgery and throwing more poison and medications at them.
00:01:42.000Maybe We could solve some of that problem.
00:01:45.000That's not saying it's going to solve all of those problems, folks.
00:01:48.000There will be some kids who do have some sort of physical condition that probably makes it almost impossible to do that.
00:01:56.000These are guidelines from the American Academy of Pediatrics.
00:02:00.000I mean, can you trust doctors anymore?
00:02:03.000These are the same people that were shocked that maybe people who were physically fit and exercised did better under COVID. I know it's hard to believe that someone who's in good shape may have a better immune system but you know what why would we do that if we could just jack them up full of medications have some doctors perform some surgeries I mean that's much better for Pfizer I mean I don't even understand it again in the crazy you know 0.001% of people where there is actually a real problem.
00:02:40.000That's one thing. But when they talk about the numbers of obesity, like a lot of kids, a large percentage of these kids would meet obese or extremely obese standards in America right now.
00:02:49.000I guarantee you that number is probably higher than it's ever been in our history or close.
00:02:56.000But It's like, man, that tweet brought to you by Pfizer.
00:03:24.000Don't just take drugs or surgery for every little thing that's out there.
00:03:29.000Again, there's going to be exceptions.
00:03:31.000There's going to be times where it's required.
00:03:33.000But it seems like the notion of even encouraging a healthy diet is almost out the window as long as there's a drug that we can come up with.
00:03:40.000And if there isn't, we're going to spend billions in researching it.
00:03:43.000And then we're going to make sure we sell that for many more billions of dollars.
00:03:47.000I mean, get outside, play, And stop listening to these clowns, folks.
00:03:53.000Again, this is just my opinion because they'll get some doctor to fact check me to use it to ding my account or whatever it is.
00:03:59.000But like, I read the article looking at the numbers and they're like, I can't imagine that there were other times in our history where kids could qualify for that much.
00:04:07.000And guess what? It didn't happen magically.
00:04:10.000And it didn't happen because there's somehow kids are different today.
