Stephanie Kopis-campbell is Australia's new ambassador for gender equality, and I have a feeling it's not about equality, it's about biological men being allowed to compete in women's sports. And yet, does anyone actually believe that? It's always in the eyes, folks. The eyes give it away. No blinking, no blinking, the thousand-yard stare. It's probably not gonna be about equality. Something tells me it probably has to do with something else, but that's just me and we'll see how it pans out. If it doesn't, she can always go do some sort of horror movie, right? It's a little scary, but let's see what this gig produces for Australia's security and the economy, other than what they tell us it will do. I'll reserve judgment until we see what it actually does, but I think I know what I think it's going to do, and that's not a good one. I don't think this is going to be about anything other than a bunch of horror movies. I'll let you know how it pan out, folks! I mean, I'll give it a listen and see if it does what it says on the tin foil and it's actually about gender equality and women's equality and human rights, or if it's just about anything else, you know, or is it just about the other way of doing it right. . Thank you for listening and supporting the podcast and I'll see you in the next episode of "It's Always in the Eyes" - I'll be back next week! - Caitlin O'Brien (hint: it's all about the eyes. ) Caitie O'Kane Thanks for listening, Caitie, I love ya. - Joni, Joni and Joni Joni is not here for the podcasting <3 - Caitie is here to help us make sense of it all. (Thank you Joni & Joni's thoughts on it all, you're so much more than you can see it all? -Joni's not here to make it all make it work. Thank you, Jeeaaay Jeeeeeay! (Joni is here for all the love and support you're not here yet? ) Thank you so much Joni!
00:00:01.000This is Australia's new ambassador for gender equality, and we are all for gender equality, but I have a feeling, I have a feeling this is gonna be nothing about actual gender equality, but making sure that, like, biological men can compete in women's sports.
00:00:16.000And just listen to the words. This position is gonna be critical for their economic and security purposes.
00:00:46.000It's probably not gonna be about equality, folks.
00:00:48.000Something tells me it probably has to do with probably anything but, but that's just me and we'll see how it pans out.
00:00:54.000But see for yourself. Hello, I'm Stephanie Kopis-Campbell, Australia's new Ambassador for Gender Equality.
00:01:01.000I'm incredibly honoured to take on this role as the lead international advocate for Australia's commitment to gender equality and the human rights of women and girls and persons of diverse gender identities.
00:01:12.000In this role, I'm committed to listening to those who are dedicated to promoting gender equality and learning about the perspectives and priorities in communities and countries in our region and globally.
00:01:24.000Promoting gender equality is the right thing to do, but it's also the smart thing to do.
00:01:29.000It is central to Australia's diplomatic economic development and regional security as well as our international engagement.
00:01:36.000I look forward to working with partners in Australia, in the Pacific, in Southeast Asia and globally to progress the Australian government's priorities to increase women's economic empowerment, Again, no blinking. I don't like how she's looking at me.
00:02:01.000It's like the look of every mugshot of every serial killer ever captured.
00:02:33.000And if the gig doesn't pan out, she can always go do some sort of horror movie.
00:02:37.000It's just, you know what's going to happen.
00:02:40.000And I will reserve judgment, but let's see what this gig produces for Australia's security and for their economy, other than what they tell them it did.
00:02:48.000But like, let's think about this in real life.
00:02:51.000I don't think she wants to tilt the scale, you know, for equality for women.
00:02:54.000I have a feeling it's probably a little different than that, like the biological men competing in women's sports and all these sorts of things.
