Summary

In this episode, I talk about the teachers union and how they are holding our kids back from going back to school, and how we need to crack down on them if we want our kids' education to actually function decently. I also talk about how much better our education is than other countries, and why we should be doing what's best for our kids, not what s best for the rest of the world. I think we all agree that our education system needs to be better, and that we should all be doing our part to make sure that our kids are getting the education they need to learn and that they are being educated in a safe and effective way. I hope you enjoy this impromptu episode, and if you do, please leave us a rating and review on Apple Podcasts, and share it with a friend who needs to know what's going on in the world of education. 00:00:00.000 Guys, whatever happened to follow the science?
00:00:02.000 Follow the science!
00:00:04.000 That's what we're going to do.
00:00:06.000 It seems that the Biden administration only follows the science when it actually suits them.
00:00:14.000 One of the things I want to talk about that I've been reading a lot about lately is sort of the stuff as it relates to the teachers' union.
00:00:21.000 You've seen what they've done over the last couple of months, the way they've basically held up progress, prevented schools from opening.
00:00:30.000 The teachers' union and those representing them have definitely failed our children in terms of education and everything else.
00:00:38.000 I mean, the teachers' union has certainly failed the science they're supposed to be teaching us because, again, It's all political.
00:00:45.000 You've seen it from Joe Biden.
00:00:47.000 No, no, no, we're going to reopen schools.
00:00:49.000 We're going to, they're going to be, wait, I only meant maybe one day a week, maybe at best.
00:00:55.000 You saw the teachers union saying, hey, we'll only return after vaccinations.
00:01:00.000 Okay, here are the vaccines. We can't return.
00:01:02.000 We can't return now.
00:01:06.000 Guys, what's going on?
00:01:07.000 It's as though they'll do whatever they can to avoid going back.
00:01:10.000 We saw this back in the day when they said, you know, and held up similar sort of progress to get our kids back to schools.
00:01:20.000 You know, they don't want to be in person.
00:01:24.000 This is early on in the outbreak.
00:01:25.000 They don't want to be in person. And assuming you understand that and say, okay, fine.
00:01:29.000 You don't want to be in person. I get it. Initially.
00:01:31.000 Now we have a vaccine. That shouldn't be a problem, but you don't want to be in person.
00:01:34.000 Then they said, Well, guys, we also don't want to do online learning.
00:01:39.000 It's not really convenient for us.
00:01:42.000 It's wonderful. Okay.
00:01:44.000 Do you want to get paid?
00:01:46.000 Of course we want to get paid.
00:01:48.000 That's ridiculous. We're teachers' unions.
00:01:52.000 We're teachers. We're not teaching, but we want to get paid.
00:01:55.000 They can't have it both ways, and this lobby has gotten so powerful.
00:02:00.000 Have you ever noticed that in any article that you see about what they're asking for, It actually has nothing to do with educating your kids.
00:02:07.000 It has nothing to do with benefiting the next generation.
00:02:13.000 It's just piling on entitlement after entitlement after entitlement, racking up millions, spending millions to prevent real progress that could be good for your kids' educations.
00:02:25.000 It never ends. I was literally just scrolling through social, seeing some of the demands just now.
00:02:32.000 And I had to do this sort of impromptu from the man cave.
00:02:36.000 Because it's getting ridiculous.
00:02:39.000 These guys at the teachers' union have so much power over Washington.
00:02:42.000 That's not to say there's not good teachers out there that want to do well, but the unions representing the vast majority of these people don't have the students' interests at heart.
00:02:51.000 I believe one of the former teachers' unions heads, I saw a quote somewhere in there, I'll start doing what's right for students when they start paying union dues.
00:03:03.000 That's the mentality. It's clear that that is what they've been pushing all along.
00:03:09.000 We've got to crack down on this nonsense if we ever want our kids' educational system to actually function decently.
00:03:15.000 It's not like we're dominating.
00:03:16.000 It's not like we do well relative to the rest of the world.
00:03:19.000 I think we're 28 or 29 out of all of the countries.
00:03:23.000 I mean, think about that. But we also spend more per capita, more per student than any country in the world by far.
00:03:31.000 And by any standard, we're a total failure.
00:03:33.000 There's probably third world countries that are doing significantly better than us in education.
