00:00:00.000 And when you have a weak president who is not respected by other nations, you have a very chaotic world.
00:00:07.000 And the world hasn't been this chaotic since World War II. I think we can say that.
00:00:12.000 We can say that very strongly.
00:00:16.000 I have no doubt that President Putin made his decision to ruthlessly attack Ukraine only after watching the pathetic withdrawal from Afghanistan, where the military was taken out first, our soldiers were killed, and American hostages plus $85 billion worth of the finest equipment anywhere in the world were left behind.
00:00:41.000 Yesterday, reporters asked me if I thought President Putin was smart.
00:00:46.000 I said, of course he's smart, to which I was greeted with, oh, that's such a terrible thing to say.
00:00:52.000 I'd like to tell the truth, yes, he's smart.
00:00:56.000 The NATO nations, and indeed the world, as he looks over what's happening strategically with no repercussions or threats whatsoever, they're not so smart.
00:01:10.000 They're looking the opposite of smart.
00:01:13.000 If you take over Ukraine, We're going to sanction you, they say.
00:01:18.000 Sanction? Well, that's a pretty weak statement.
00:01:22.000 Putin is saying, oh, they're going to sanction me.
00:01:24.000 They've sanctioned me for the last 25 years.
00:01:27.000 You mean I can take over a whole country?
00:01:29.000 Are they going to sanction me? You mean they're not going to blow us to pieces, at least psychologically?
00:01:36.000 The problem is not that Putin is smart, which of course he's smart, but the real problem is that our leaders are dumb.
00:01:47.000 Dumb. So dumb.
00:01:51.000 And they so far allowed him to get away with this travesty and assault on humanity.
00:02:02.000 That's what it is. This is an assault on humanity.
00:02:05.000 So sad. Putin is playing Biden like a drum, and it's not a pretty thing, as somebody that loves our country, to watch.
00:02:14.000 Just not a pretty thing to watch.
00:02:18.000 You know, I was with Putin a lot.
00:02:21.000 I spent a lot of time with him.
00:02:22.000 I got along with him. I got along with President Xi.
00:02:24.000 I got along with Kim Jong-un.
00:02:26.000 Kim Jong-un has massive nuclear power.
00:02:29.000 It's a good thing to get along with people, not a bad thing.
00:02:32.000 You can be very tough and get along.
00:02:35.000 You know, I'm the one that ended his pipeline.
00:02:38.000 He said, you're killing me with the pipeline.
00:02:40.000 Nobody else ended his pipeline.
00:02:42.000 Biden came in. He approved it.
00:02:44.000 But I did a lot of things that were very tough on Russia.
00:02:47.000 Nobody, no president was ever as tough on Russia as I was.
00:02:50.000 And I'd come in, the fake news would say, Trump loves Russia.
00:02:54.000 He loves Russia. Then we had the Russia, Russia, Russia hoax, which is now with Durham and Mueller and all the rest, just a total hoax.
00:03:02.000 It was a made-up fictional story.
00:03:07.000 But with respect to what's going on now, it would have been so easy for me to stop this travesty from happening.
00:03:14.000 He understood me, and he understood that I didn't play games.
00:03:18.000 This would not have happened. Someday I'll tell you exactly what we talked about.
00:03:24.000 But we talked about it.
00:03:26.000 And he did have an affinity.
00:03:27.000 There's no question about it for Ukraine.
00:03:30.000 I said, never let it happen.
00:03:31.000 You better not let it happen.
00:03:33.000 This is the only attack in history where the further he goes and the bigger it gets and the worse it gets and the more death that's caused, the more money he makes because oil prices keep climbing higher and higher and higher.
00:03:47.000 There's never been anything like that where a warring nation The more he makes it difficult to get oil, the more expensive it gets, and the more money he makes.
00:03:56.000 And all those tanks roaming around are very expensive, but they're peanuts compared to the kind of money that he's making because of the tremendous increase in oil.
00:04:04.000 You know, when I left, and during my term, oil was at $36 a barrel.
00:04:11.000 Think of it, $36.
00:04:13.000 Now it hit $100, and they think it's going to $150.
00:04:16.000 So the Middle East And Saudi Arabia, a lot of countries.
00:04:20.000 But Russia, right now in particular, is making more money than they ever dreamt possible.
00:04:25.000 The cost of the war is very, very small compared to the kind of money they're taking in.
00:04:30.000 There's never been a situation like that.
