TRIGGERnometry - The Extraordinary Silence...And What It Tells Us - Konstantin Kisin

00:00:00.000 As regular viewers will know, Israel is not one of my issues.

00:00:08.180 It's not a country I've been to, and until recently, not one I've commented on.

00:00:12.280 When the terrorist attack happened on October the 7th, 2023,

00:00:16.020 my reaction was a combination of horror and, strange as it may sound, curiosity.

00:00:21.900 Whenever something happens in the world that I do not understand,

00:00:24.560 my instinct is to try to learn as much as I can before forming an opinion.

00:00:29.200 That's why I said little for a year after October the 7th,

00:00:32.860 instead engaging with people on all sides of the argument.

00:00:36.180 On Trigonometry, we interviewed pro-Israel voices like Ben Shapiro, Natasha Hausdorff,

00:00:40.660 and eventually Benjamin Netanyahu himself, as well as those on the other side,

00:00:44.940 like Norman Finkelstein, Bassem Youssef, and Ahmed Ford Al-Khatib.

00:00:49.180 Eventually, having listened to the different arguments,

00:00:51.600 I published what became my most viral article and video on the first anniversary of October the 7th,

00:00:57.660 entitled Why I'm Off The Fence About Israel's War.

00:01:01.160 In it, I attempted to logically analyze the arguments and reach a conclusion.

00:01:05.520 In short, my view was, and remains, that many of the anti-Israel arguments are at best driven by emotions

00:01:11.760 which are understandable but irreconcilable with the facts,

00:01:15.500 and at worst, deliberate manipulations designed to weaponize our natural horror at seeing the realities of war.

00:01:21.480 Now, as the second anniversary of October the 7th approaches,

00:01:25.500 we are witnessing a spectacular cascade of events that reveal the unvarnished truth of this entire debate.

00:01:31.360 And no, I'm not talking about President Trump's 21-point Gaza peace plan.

00:01:35.880 I'm talking about the reaction to it, which reveals what this is actually about.

00:01:40.980 The Trump plan is a roadmap to peace which delivers every single anti-war and pro-peace objective,

00:01:47.240 an immediate end to the war,

00:01:48.960 Israeli withdrawal,

00:01:50.080 the release of over 2,000 Palestinian detainees in exchange for just 20 remaining living Israeli hostages,

00:01:57.100 delivery of aid,

00:01:58.260 reopening of the Rafah crossing with Egypt,

00:02:00.660 a non-Israeli, non-Hamas administration of Gaza,

00:02:04.040 an economic development package,

00:02:05.940 a commitment against the displacement of Palestinians,

00:02:08.520 no annexation, no occupation,

00:02:11.560 and U.S.-mediated talks between Israel and the Palestinians

00:02:14.260 to achieve a, quote,

00:02:15.760 peaceful and prosperous coexistence.

00:02:18.280 To my complete lack of surprise, however,

00:02:20.740 many of the most prominent campaigners against genocide,

00:02:24.240 who have graced our airwaves for the last two years,

00:02:26.940 have either stayed silent or openly called for Hamas to reject the deal.

00:02:31.340 Crystal Ball of Breaking Points,

00:02:32.920 who once published an extraordinary critique of our interview with Netanyahu,

00:02:36.200 which she began by admitting she hadn't actually watched it,

00:02:39.840 spent 20 minutes on her show,

00:02:41.700 insinuating that Hamas should not take the deal.

00:02:44.680 Her social media is a continuous stream of virtue signaling,

00:02:47.900 with no mention of the fact that if you want to stop the genocide,

00:02:51.480 an offer to do so is on the table.

00:02:54.020 Candace Owens, another peace enthusiast,

00:02:56.460 hasn't even bothered to comment on President Trump's peace proposal at all.

00:03:00.260 She's too busy making money from Charlie Kirk's murder 1.00

00:03:02.840 by conducting her own investigation into his assassination

00:03:06.020 from the comfort of her own studio. 0.87

00:03:08.700 Hint, Jews are involved. 0.99

00:03:10.640 Here in Britain,

00:03:11.360 Owen Jones has not only failed to urge Hamas to accept the deal,

00:03:14.580 but on the contrary,

00:03:15.680 has shared tweets and videos portraying it as unacceptable,

00:03:18.920 effectively suggesting that it should be rejected.

00:03:21.380 Meanwhile, Jeremy Corbyn dismissed the deal

00:03:23.480 as yet another colonial endeavor.

00:03:25.680 It's important to say,

00:03:26.580 I don't believe it's in Hamas' interest to accept the Trump peace plan.

00:03:30.540 After all,

00:03:31.180 it requires them to disarm and relinquish any role in the future governance of Gaza.

00:03:35.540 Hamas is perfectly entitled to reject a deal it dislikes, 1.00

00:03:40.180 in exactly the same way Ukraine won't accept peace terms with Russia

00:03:43.600 that it feels would damage its long-term interests.

00:03:46.580 But Hamas' ability and willingness to reject the deal 0.73

00:03:49.800 is a clear indicator of what the conflict in Gaza actually is.

00:03:53.580 Far from being genocide,

00:03:55.780 it's a war.

00:03:56.800 A war that Hamas started and is losing very badly.

00:04:00.180 You cannot simultaneously cling to a bunch of war goals

00:04:03.420 in order to retain power and continue terrorism,

00:04:06.340 and at the same time claim to be a poor, hapless victim of genocide.

00:04:10.340 The Tutsi in Rwanda,

00:04:11.900 Armenians in the Ottoman Empire,

00:04:13.980 Jews in the Warsaw Ghetto,

00:04:15.500 were not slaughtered because they were offered peace terms they then rejected.

00:04:19.800 They were killed for being Tutsis, 1.00

00:04:21.880 Armenians,

00:04:22.500 and Jews.

00:04:23.580 That's what genocide actually means. 0.94

00:04:26.220 One of the oldest tricks used by liars throughout the ages

00:04:28.760 is what I call sleight of mouth,

00:04:30.580 where definitions are stretched beyond their remit

00:04:32.900 to get people to believe lies.

00:04:35.240 This is a powerful technique,

00:04:36.620 because if I can get you to misapply the term genocide

00:04:39.340 to the conflict in Gaza,

00:04:40.960 I can get you to stop seeing it as a battle between two belligerents,

00:04:44.500 and instead treat Israel as the criminal, 0.76

00:04:46.960 and Hamas as the victim. 0.79

00:04:48.540 What the last few days have shown

00:04:50.000 is that the overwhelming majority of those demanding an end to the so-called genocide in Gaza

00:04:54.560 do not believe it is one themselves,

00:04:57.280 as demonstrated by their unwillingness to pressure Hamas to accept a deal that would end it.

00:05:01.800 This is a war.

00:05:03.760 Their side is losing,

00:05:05.240 and they're using the suffering of Palestinian civilians,

00:05:08.180 human shields placed in harm's way by Hamas,

00:05:10.800 to generate clicks, likes, and views.

00:05:13.300 If you enjoy my videos,

00:05:15.220 you should know that they're available on my Substackers articles,
