00:01:08.100 and a lot of it has to do with what's transpiring with organized crime.

00:01:37.500 63-year-old Brampton resident Guramrit King Sidhu

00:01:41.960 has been sentenced to 20 years

00:01:43.940 in a U.S. federal prison this week.

00:01:45.720 He pled guilty to operating

00:01:47.100 a sophisticated cross-border trafficking network.

00:01:50.160 Authorities say SUDU coordinated Canadian long-haul truck drivers

00:01:53.360 to transport large quantities of cocaine and methamphetamine

00:01:57.300 from Los Angeles, supplied from Mexico into Canada,

00:02:00.960 using major commercial border crossings.

00:02:04.000 He got 20 years, that's 240 months, in federal prison,

00:02:07.800 and he was extradited from Toronto to California in October of 2024,

00:02:13.040 and he's likely going to be deported to Canada

00:02:16.480 after serving a sentence.

00:02:18.000 He is eligible to request a transfer to a Canadian prison

00:02:21.260 after serving 10 years in the U.S.

00:02:23.280 Let me give you the scale of this operation.

00:02:25.580 In just one month during 2022, investigators say

00:02:28.420 SEDU coordinated 523 kilograms of methamphetamine,

00:02:32.780 347 kilograms of cocaine on eight separate cross-border shipments.

00:02:38.140 Now, that was estimated at about 15 to 17 million,

00:02:42.660 and authorities intercepted all of the shipments

00:02:45.160 before they reached their destination.

00:02:46.480 One incident involved an 80-kilogram shipment of cocaine that he actually handled himself out of a trucking yard in Brampton.

00:02:55.500 Now, by the way, here's how the drugs entered Canada through the Detroit-Windsor Tunnel, Peace Bridge,

00:03:01.680 and Blue Water Bridge in Port Huron and Point Edward there, Mexico, Los Angeles, and then Canadian Trucking Network into Ontario.

00:03:10.800 once you owe a cartel 15 to 17 million dollars on lost shipments of drugs you need to catch up

00:03:20.520 and you need to catch up quickly or your life has ended and the life of many of your friends

00:03:26.360 and family likely i think what happened here and i would be very interested to find out if this was

00:03:32.160 the case i think that this is one of those things where he could not stop and would not stop the

00:03:39.700 Drugs were coming into Canada no matter what.

00:04:01.740 when we heard about the tariffs being launched from the U.S. to Canada

00:04:06.220 and when Donald Trump ended up taking his second term

00:04:11.420 we heard a lot about conversations about the U.S. and Canada.

00:04:14.660 One, Canada's taking advantage of us, et cetera, et cetera,

00:04:17.340 but also the one thing that we did really hear about

00:04:19.520 is that Canada's supplying the U.S. with drugs.

00:04:22.240 Yeah, this doesn't sound like that,

00:04:26.720 In Montreal, you pointed out another port bust.

00:04:30.300 Yeah, the Montreal Gazette reported that in St. Sevier,

00:04:33.620 I could be burying that, but hopefully I'm not,

00:04:35.640 There was three arrested, 67 kilos of cocaine, $115,000 worth of cash.

00:04:40.400 There was firearms and cell phones also confiscated.

00:04:43.240 The ages of these people, 72, 42, and 50.

00:04:46.340 Wow, that's quite a range, actually.

00:04:47.740 Yeah, that's a pretty big range.

00:04:49.620 So that's between that and this, that's almost 1,000 kilos.

00:04:54.220 And they've already said neither of those.

00:04:56.620 Well, I mean, admittedly, these are all in the past mostly,

00:05:01.020 but the charges on this guy, yeah.

00:05:03.000 We're looking at over 1,000 kilos of drugs in just these two cases.

00:05:08.700 This week it has been reported that there's 1,000 kilos that have been busted

00:05:11.900 of different drugs inside of this country.

00:05:14.560 So if that's just in one week with two separate instances over different times,

00:05:22.780 What stands out to me is not only that comment about the U.S.

00:08:03.040 Now we're also seeing people shooting at each other at the highest levels as a competitor to GFL here in Canada was identified and jailed for shooting at his competitor's door, for goodness sake.

00:08:15.800 Yeah. And it seems like in Calgary, they've published an extensive list of people charged in investigations involving alleged extortion, shootings, arson, and planned kidnapping. The RCMP is still targeting networks this week to try and find these widespread cases. This isn't just something that's being honed in on in a certain area. This is going on everywhere.

00:08:37.800 So this extortion is a new means of crime revenue generation.

00:08:42.440 And at this point, the extortion, because everybody hears about it,
