00:00:00.000 I'm not saying that you're wrong. I'm just saying that there's no good extreme.
00:00:03.840 Socialism is a scam but sometimes it's really good but we need to use it in the
00:00:08.520 right places. I'll say that there's no good extreme not everything that is
00:00:16.680 extreme is probably 99% not good not perfect so to have a rules that are
00:00:23.000 socialist like I don't know like having a public health not in Canada and Canada
00:00:27.800 suck but uh in different places it's way better yes but they they manage it properly so where are
00:00:35.020 you from uh we're from israel so in israel we have a public health which we do pay for it it is 0.94
00:00:42.240 free for some of the things but it's way cheaper than the u.s you see in the u.s it's like you
00:00:48.100 have to pay thousands of dollars to have like a regular treatment like uh right like something
00:00:54.240 happened to your tooth a thousand check a thousand dollars yeah uh something happened to your food
00:00:59.000 you have not just wait not just pay you know just i don't know have you have to have connections to
00:01:04.760 the right doctors here it's easier because you can just go and you'll know someone will treat you
00:01:09.840 but you'll have to wait for like seven hours or longer yeah canada is amazing i love canada
00:01:16.380 But when I broke my clavicle, I stayed in the ER room for like seven hours.
00:01:27.840 And then I asked people that I know that work in the hospital if they can help.
00:01:32.520 But that's not okay, and that's not fair for the other people.
00:01:36.140 Because there's people with worse conditions than mine.
00:01:39.360 And it's not okay to have a free program for everyone.
00:01:45.200 and then you have to wait for, like, hours and hours and hours
00:01:47.620 with way worse people than me.
00:01:50.640 Like, there's people without legs and there's people with, I don't know,
00:01:53.960 someone stabbed them and they need to see an ER doctor.
00:01:56.380 I don't know.
00:01:56.700 Yeah, I know.
00:01:57.240 Like, in Canada, I think it was, like, 20,000 people died last year
00:02:01.480 waiting for health care.
00:02:02.280 Exactly.
00:02:02.740 Right?
00:02:03.160 And so I think a lot of people don't understand the United States system either.
00:02:06.980 Right.
00:02:07.200 Like, right across the river.
00:02:08.360 Exactly.
00:02:08.680 They have insurance.
00:02:10.080 They have actually a lot of up-and-coming insurance companies
00:02:13.520 that actually are fair and will actually help them pay for their health care so there are ways
00:02:18.640 to get around it for people especially lower income there's also there's also government
00:02:22.740 programs for people who are like the lowest income so it's not it's not necessarily like someone
00:02:28.260 can't really get the health care i mean i i haven't heard of that but
00:02:34.440 there's definitely people in canada who can't get health care it's it's it's crazy it's honestly
00:02:41.060 not okay yeah and like the rest of canada is great but uh like not everything is perfect but
00:02:46.580 it's like in everyone in the world in israel like my my like family they used to pay like around
00:02:52.360 like 100 shekels which is like 50 each each month and then i'm not waiting i can just book an
00:02:59.260 appointment i have way better conditions and i'm not paying thousand dollars like yeah across the
00:03:05.500 river but i'm i'm not waiting six hours yes so yeah there is there's a lot of solutions for it
00:03:13.540 and you just need to find it and to understand which one is right yeah but basically i'm not
00:03:20.000 saying that you're wrong i'm not i'm just saying that there's no good extreme so socialism is a
00:03:27.420 scam but sometimes it's really good but we need to use it in the right places i i think we're
00:03:35.220 conflating socialism with government intervention like if if your welfare say so if welfare like
00:03:43.460 say in sweden where they have one of the more fairer tax systems if their welfare is fair
00:03:51.540 if it's funded on capitalism right then it's not really socialism right because it relies entirely
00:03:59.020 on capitalism so i think i i am certainly not advocating that welfare is a scam i think it is
00:04:06.300 necessary and in some places it is i just don't think a vast welfare state i don't think that
00:04:11.500 works either because you want you want your economy to grow and you don't want people to
00:04:16.140 be dependent on the government right if they are then you're basically bribing them with free stuff
00:04:19.780 which is basically what every election in canada is you're bribing people with free stuff which is
00:04:23.660 actually every election
00:04:26.360 everything in the world
00:04:28.400 at the end
00:04:30.880 in the baseline, we're all humans 0.93
00:04:32.880 we're not Canadians 0.92
00:04:34.780 we're not indigenous, we're not
00:04:36.540 any other race, we're just humans
00:04:38.780 I identify as a human
00:04:41.020 and then as a Jew, and then as a religious
00:04:43.240 person, and then as Israeli
00:04:45.120 and whatever you want to do
00:04:47.320 you can be identified
00:04:48.980 as white, as
00:04:50.540 queer, or whatever you want
00:04:52.960 as a gender, but first of all, the base is being a human, and we are all humans, we all
00:04:59.820 want the same things, basically, but we're just sometimes against each other, and to
00:05:05.800 find the right way, with no extreme parts, I think it's, like, my biggest wish right
00:05:12.740 now, so, I'm wishing for you, like, to find it, and wishing Canada to have the best, the
00:05:20.000 Give us health care and proper ones.
00:05:22.540 Yeah.
00:05:22.760 Because the system itself is terrible,
00:05:26.160 but the care, like the health,
00:05:28.180 like the people who does that are incredible.
00:05:31.220 I know many, many doctors,
00:05:32.920 I know many, many people, Jews and non-Jews,
00:05:35.720 they work in the health care system
00:05:37.360 and they're doing an amazing job.
00:05:39.360 And it's just, like in Hebrew we say chaval.
00:05:42.420 It's like a shame to have such a good crew of doctors and nurses,
00:05:48.340 but with a really bad system so we just need to find a balance yeah so not to compromise about
00:05:55.440 the good doctors because we need them but find a balance with uh with the rest of the things yeah
00:05:59.700 and and i actually i look at sweden too because they they went through a crisis in the 70s where
00:06:06.480 they are in the 90s from 70s to 90s they tried socialism and they had like fully like socialized
00:06:12.360 health care full welfare stuff and it didn't work and their economy just totally tanked
00:06:17.160 and they privatize, like, a quarter of their welfare and their health cares.
00:06:21.760 So, and, like, a quarter of their hospitals are, like, privately run.
00:06:25.080 So that introduces some competition into the system, which I think is a good thing,
00:06:29.360 so that people who can't afford it can go to the public ones,
00:06:31.960 and people who can and who want to get faster care can go to the private ones,
00:06:35.940 and it speeds things up, right?
00:06:37.460 So I prefer that system.
