00:00:00.000 All right, guys, we had a very interesting experience at the University of Guelph. It was
00:00:05.260 by far the most interesting university experience that we've had so far, and it was probably because
00:00:12.100 someone was triggered by my sign. If you have watched any of the recent videos, we've started
00:00:18.940 a new method on university campuses where I set up a table and I invite students to come and talk
00:00:25.260 to me and debate me on like the sign. So the last couple of times it was socialism is a scam.
00:00:32.720 And towards the end of our time at the University of Guelph this week, a woman came up,
00:00:39.180 obviously very triggered by the sign and quite in a huff. She was in a huff when she came up to me
00:00:45.300 and she made it very clear that she did not want to be recorded, which I mean, all right,
00:00:51.620 at that moment, you're already going like, okay, what's up? And she's like, you are putting the
00:00:58.740 students and people that come up to you at a disadvantage. That is a really bad sign. You
00:01:04.480 cannot say that. You cannot. And basically, it took a while to even get out what she was trying
00:01:11.500 to say. But in the end, it came out that, okay, she actually didn't think that I could make a
00:01:17.700 statement like that, that socialism is a scam. And she thought that I was being too aggressive
00:01:23.420 and too triggering with the sign. I did, I tried my best to explain to her the purpose of the sign
00:01:29.460 and the purpose of a debate, and she didn't want to listen to it. And eventually it came out that
00:01:35.100 the reason that she didn't want me to be there and to say it like that was because she believes
00:01:39.620 in subjective truth, or like, you probably heard it more as my truth, your truth. And she didn't
00:01:46.200 like that. And she basically said in the course of the conversation, uh, that science is the only
00:01:53.160 thing that we can know for sure. And everything else is subjective. And that therefore I was in
00:01:57.960 the wrong for trying to argue for objective truth. And I did my very best to be as respectful as I
00:02:05.760 could, but it was hilarious because she was arguing from authority, which was also funny
00:02:13.500 that she was arguing the fundamental truth, that there is no fundamental truth. I mean,
00:02:21.700 you got to think about that for a second. When someone says that there is no objective truth,
00:02:27.520 with that statement, they have just stated an objective truth. If there is nothing true in
00:02:34.300 the world and everything is just personal and relative, then the only truth, that there still
00:02:40.060 has to be one truth that there is no objective truth. So I found that so funny because I have
00:02:47.720 had this debate with people before and I found it so funny. And I do have to apologize to her
00:02:56.600 if she watches this video. I did laugh and I'm sorry that I laughed even that one time, but it
00:03:03.140 was really, it was quite funny. So it was a definitely an interesting experience, but I was
00:03:08.860 thinking about it afterwards. And that whole subjective truth, my truth, your truth,
00:03:15.480 it really shuts down debate. Like, you probably don't realize it. But when you say that there is
00:03:23.520 no objective truth, then you really can't have a debate over what's right or what's wrong.
00:03:29.460 Because if it's all subjective, then there's no reason to debate because everybody's right.
00:03:34.560 and that goes totally against what we're trying to do here and having conversations with students.
00:03:41.320 The whole idea that there is no objective truth and that everything is relative is probably one
00:03:47.580 of the main reasons that debate was shut down in the first place and that is one of the things that
00:03:52.320 Charlie Kirk was trying to fight against and that's like it was a fundamental thing for him
00:03:58.060 and I don't know if he said it out loud very often, but he was arguing for objective truth
00:04:04.960 in every single one of his debates. That is like the underlying thing. If you do not recognize
00:04:10.000 that you are trying to approach and find truth through your debate, then you're not going to
00:04:16.640 find truth and there's no reason to debate. So I found it quite funny, but that is what we're
00:04:22.820 fighting against. Anyway, so that whole idea has shut down debate in this country. And then another
00:04:30.180 thing that she said really stuck with me was that science is the only thing that we can know that
00:04:36.020 is true, and then everything else is relative. If you truly believe that, then eventually you're
00:04:41.300 going to start worshiping science as the only foundational truth, that everything is relative.
00:04:45.460 and when you take the everything is relative doctrine to its conclusion, then you really
00:04:53.260 can't say that anything is wrong. You can't say that the government stealing your money and
00:04:57.760 taxing everybody to oblivion, you can't say that that is wrong. And you can't say that
00:05:03.140 honor killing is wrong. You can't say that stealing is wrong. You can't say that terrorism
00:05:08.240 is wrong if you have that fundamental belief that everything is relative. It was, it was
00:05:15.340 interesting that she came up like that. I don't blame this lady for that doctrine of relative
00:05:22.480 truth. Obviously, she was taught that from somewhere else and that she truly believed it.
00:05:26.460 Anyway, that is what ended our experience at Guelph. And it was definitely interesting.
00:05:31.280 And I probably can say, having experienced that, that more exciting things will come in the future
00:05:36.820 with setting up a table and triggering people with really fun and true statements. If you like
00:05:43.780 that content, then feel free to like, subscribe, and comment. It really helps the channel out.
00:05:49.120 And if you have any ideas of things that we can bring up with students and really fun sign ideas,
00:05:54.640 then you can write that down in the comments. All right, thanks. Bye!
