00:00:30.000 I think it's fair to say the war in Iran affecting straight-up Hormuz is impacting everybody around the world financially.
00:00:35.540 But here's the one question that no one's talking about.
00:00:37.440 So this is one choke point that we have in the world, straight-up Hormuz.
00:00:41.080 And people are like, probably on a day-to-day stuff, you weren't thinking about how much power Iran had to say,
00:00:45.960 I'm not going to let anybody else in.
00:00:47.840 You guys are locked in.
00:00:48.940 We have minds.
00:00:49.780 Everyone learned about Carrick Island and how powerful it is and how much control Iran has.
00:00:54.440 Well, wait a minute.
00:00:55.680 I didn't know they were this strong.
00:00:56.900 Well, if that's the case, what are the other choke points in the world that if all of a sudden China's like, you want to put this much pain on me that I'm being cornered with oil prices?
00:01:06.520 Wait a minute.
00:01:07.240 Let me tell you what I can do to you and the rest of the world with Taiwan and the 90% of semiconductors that's coming there.
00:01:14.280 If they do that, there's one straight nobody is talking about.
00:01:19.420 It's so important, and China privately doesn't want you to know about this one strait that will impact them in a massive way.
00:01:28.580 Three and a half trillion dollars are your moves through this place.
00:01:32.260 We're going to talk about that place.
00:01:33.880 And an idea that Israel came up with in the 60s amongst each other became public in 1994 that could be a direct competitor to Suez Canal.
00:01:43.500 We're going to talk about all of that stuff today.
00:01:49.420 All right, so contrary to popular belief on X, I've been doing board videos since 2013.
00:01:59.180 I've been doing these for a long time, and if you're watching and saying, Pat, I love
00:02:01.960 the board videos you do, I have a favor to ask you.
00:02:05.480 51% of you watch our content, you've never subscribed to the channel, but you watch it
00:02:10.600 every single week.
00:02:11.240 If you're one of them and you like what we do, you want to help us out, we're at 7 million
00:02:15.120 subs, I'd like to get to 10 million subs, click on that subscribe button.
00:02:18.760 It helps us out with our algorithms and grows our audience.
00:02:22.100 Thank you for doing that.
00:02:22.860 Just click on our subscribe button right there.
00:02:24.440 Having said that, let's get right into another board video here.
00:02:26.720 So, Strait of Hormuz, okay, Persian Gulf, Gulf of Oman, 21 million barrels a day goes
00:02:34.380 through Strait of Hormuz.
00:02:35.260 We're seeing a pain for everybody.
00:02:36.460 Gas prices this morning, I'm talking to Rob, you know, on the podcast.
00:02:40.160 He says, Pat, gas prices, two weeks ago, he's paying $2.75.
00:02:42.900 This morning, $3.99.
00:02:44.540 If you're watching this, your gas prices have probably gone up 50 cents to $1.20 per gallon.
00:02:50.860 Whatever part of the country you live in, you're feeling it, right?
00:02:53.520 Now, why is that?
00:02:54.320 20% to 25% of all seaborne oil trade, 20% of global LNG goes through the Strait of Hormuz,
00:03:00.640 primarily oil from Saudi, UAE, Iraq, Kuwait, Qatar.
00:03:04.620 And a big chunk of the oil that China relies on comes from here.
00:03:09.980 So they felt the pain in a massive way.
00:03:12.460 So what does Iran do with Operation Epic Fury that started on February 28th?
00:03:17.340 Iran closed the strait March 2nd.
00:03:19.400 Now, they've done that to 21 different merchant ships.
00:03:21.420 Obviously, we've destroyed their navy.
00:03:22.640 We've killed 50 of their leaders.
00:03:24.420 Supreme leader, we just killed their chief intelligence officer.
00:03:26.940 So this is not a good situation.
00:03:28.800 But if you go right now to find out if Strait of Hormuz is open or closed, it'll say restricted.
00:03:33.280 Why? We'll get to that here in a minute as well.
00:03:35.080 Keep in mind, a lot of people think Strait of Hormuz.
00:03:37.160 It's 21 miles wide.
00:03:39.340 If it's 21 miles wide, you have to be able to get a bunch of ships that go through at the same time, right?
00:03:44.200 Nope.
00:03:44.900 Only two.
00:03:46.140 Only two?
00:03:47.040 Only two.
00:03:47.580 Why?
00:03:47.980 It's not, if you think it's a deep place and you can have 50 ships going through, that's not the case.
00:03:53.180 So, economical implications.
00:03:55.160 Largest oil supply disruption ever.
00:03:57.220 Brent crude went from 100 to 126.
00:03:59.720 Omani crude 150.
00:04:00.740 I think the record is 145.
00:04:02.360 I don't know if we're going to hit it or not.
00:04:03.520 Some massive thing needs to happen to hit the record.
00:04:05.980 oil prices could hit 200 if this continues. Some people say it's a little bit of fear porn,
00:04:11.320 but it's also a reality. If all of a sudden Charg Islands hit and Iran just says, forget about it,
00:04:17.540 and a couple ships are truly hit in a massive way, you can see that every day this thing stays. If
00:04:22.660 it stays closed for three weeks, we're dealing with a $200. It's never happened before. Could
00:04:27.340 get to that point. U.S. gas price is up nearly $5 in California. Global oil crisis losing 8 million
00:04:33.260 barrels a day. That's that part. Now, in the logistical problem side, limited mobility. We
00:04:38.420 talked about the U.S. military resources, seven to eight destroyers for just three to four tankers.
00:04:43.960 China, India, non-Western countries still allowed in the area. So Iran said, look, if you're China,
00:04:50.020 you're India, your partner go through. If you're friends with the Western side, you cannot come
00:04:55.000 through this year. There's a price for it. And if you notice NATO storm, you know, here from UK,
00:05:00.240 I don't know if we're with them.
00:05:01.460 You know, President Trump comes out.
00:05:02.940 I need you guys to be on ours.
00:05:04.120 Oh, we can't.
00:05:04.640 We want to kind of have a place because we got to get them.
00:05:06.580 So it's an interesting thing that's going on right now.
00:05:09.000 Who's going to be siding with them?
00:05:10.480 Who's not?
00:05:11.200 And this leads to the secondary consequences, which is port congestion, longer shipping
00:05:15.480 times, delays on sulfur and aluminum, crops, semiconductors, worldwide inflation, shipping
00:05:20.580 insurance costs.
00:05:21.600 Anyways, there's a bunch of things that can happen here, but that's one of the world's
00:05:25.240 choke points.
00:05:26.100 No one's talking about the other places.
00:05:27.900 Let's talk about the other places.
00:05:29.060 here's where the main global choke points are when you look at this you see obviously Panama
00:05:36.520 Canal Suez Canal you'll see the Turkish Strait you'll see all these other places but I'm going
00:05:41.620 to emphasize a couple this year number one Suez Canal 12% of global trade goes through their 30%
00:05:46.740 of container traffic 4.2 to 5.7 billion dollars in transit fees for Egypt so that means in this
00:05:54.540 area, who has a lot of control? Egypt. This is why Egypt's also got its own power. They influence
00:06:00.160 what happens in Suez Canal. So everybody's like, look, Egypt, just kind of be good. And Egypt's
00:06:04.240 like, look, you guys are giving us a lot of money. It's good revenue. Let's just kind of, you know,
00:06:07.900 freedom, peace, and prosperity. Let's do that together, right? Egypt. So that's that part. So
00:06:13.560 risk, Houthis, blockages. This has happened before. Houthis sees this and said, hey, we're going to
00:06:17.920 get them all scared of crap out of everybody. We've seen that happen before. The other block,
00:06:22.080 The other choke point is the Panama Canal, 13,404 transits, $5.7 billion in 2025 risk,
00:06:28.620 drought.
00:06:29.440 When there is a drought, there's water that they need coming in from lake.
00:06:32.360 Like there was an issue a couple of years ago with rain.
00:06:34.460 El Nino didn't really happen.
00:06:36.140 It was massively problematic.
00:06:37.980 They couldn't get as many ships to be going out as they did before.
00:06:41.540 The number, I think, got all the way down to 22 to 24.
00:06:44.300 They'll generally do a number that's a higher number.
00:06:46.400 I think the number is 36, give or take.
00:06:48.660 So that was a problem.
00:06:49.520 So this right here, Panama Canal, the fact that Panama's Supreme Court came and took it back from China, C.K. Hutchinson said, you don't have that much control over it, specifically the two areas, that's massive.
00:06:59.280 Now, of course, C.K.'s can come back and ask for money.
00:07:02.000 China's probably not happy about that.
00:07:03.800 This was one of the choke points I was very concerned about, if China could have a lot of control over.
00:07:08.980 This is a good thing.
00:07:10.120 Now, watch the next one, Taiwan.
00:07:12.080 Here's a concern with Taiwan.
00:07:13.840 At any given time, this is a picture from May 26th of 2024.
00:07:18.560 This is Taiwan. This is mainland China. Blue ships. That's Taiwan. That's U.S. Japan, U.S.,
00:07:25.560 U.S., Taiwan, U.S., Taiwan, all the blue. Everything you see with red is China. They all
00:07:32.020 need to protect this place. China says this is ours. Now, if China decides to go scorched earth
00:07:36.960 and say, you know what? Here's what we're going to do. We're going to go after Taiwan, and we're
00:07:40.100 going to do all this stuff to hurt you guys with the ships. There's one area no one's talking about,
00:07:43.140 the Strait of Malacca. And here's why this is important. 94,000 ships annually goes through
00:07:49.320 here. You don't hear a lot of talks about Strait of Malacca. 25% of all goods, we're talking about
00:07:55.040 three and a half trillion dollars of trade value that's moving through this place that we don't
00:07:58.600 talk about a lot. But this is a massive risk for China. Why? That's 80% of oil imports. So let's
00:08:04.200 take a look at this. When you look at this map, okay, this is China mainland. This is the Strait
00:08:09.540 of Malacca, okay, you may say, what's the big deal? For them to go through, they have to go
00:08:15.720 through here. This is Indonesia. By the way, it's interesting because Indonesia, you see how big it
00:08:21.120 is and how much of the size they have. I think that's 650 to 700 kilometers. Even though it's
00:08:26.520 that much, they're only making 3 billion a year off the Strait of Malacca. They don't charge any
00:08:30.240 tax, nothing like that. Malaysia, right on this side, they have 650 kilometers that comes through
00:08:36.600 right there. They make $7 billion a year. See Singapore, how small it is? That's smaller
00:08:41.440 the place. It's only 24 kilometers. They make the most money, $15 billion every year from the
00:08:47.120 Strait of Malacca. Why? Services. People stop by, get their things scored away. There's so many
00:08:52.480 different great experiences and services there. So they make that money for themselves. But the
00:08:57.620 point here is the fact that if anything happens here, like the Strait of Hormuz, they put a stop
00:09:03.280 to that, China's going to feel it. Now, of course, they have alternatives, but they don't want anybody
00:09:07.600 to be messing with the Strait of Malacca. Now, last but not least, I told you at the end that
00:09:11.500 Israel's sitting there saying, look, you know, our concern is with the Strait of Hormuz all the way
00:09:15.840 on the other side, like 193 kilometers. When you look at this one here, Israel back in the 60s came
00:09:22.020 up with an idea that they internally talked about, became public in the 1990s, I think 94. And they
00:09:28.240 He said, look, if we have to use Suez Kadan, what if all of a sudden one day they say,
00:09:33.180 Egypt says, hey, Israel, you better or else, guys, we got to think about ourselves long
00:09:38.200 term.
00:09:38.860 What if we do that?
00:09:39.640 And they suggested the Ben-Gurion Canal.
00:09:42.420 And you know, if you hear straight, it's God-made, it's natural canal, it's man-made.
00:09:46.420 They said, we should build a canal, calling it the Ben-Gurion Canal, 250 to 300 kilometers.
00:09:54.360 Some say a part of the Gaza war that took place is to open it up to build the canal there.
00:10:00.140 And the ideas are pretty outlandish ideas.
00:10:02.340 To build this, they need 300,000 men to help them out.
00:10:05.960 $55 billion budget, I believe, to build this property out.
00:10:10.000 And again, this was an idea that came about a long time that was discussed, proposed in
00:10:14.980 the 60s, named first for their first prime minister to be able to build this.
00:10:19.700 They have to dig the place, bunch of nuclear bombs, blow the whole place up to open it
00:10:24.000 up and, you know, alternative to Suez, West-friendly government, two shifts at a time that they
00:10:29.660 could pull off.
00:10:30.140 And this is what they're proposing.
00:10:31.680 Nothing's happened yet.
00:10:32.640 People are saying this is something that we may want to entertain in case Egypt all of
00:10:36.920 a sudden does something.
00:10:37.660 Again, everyone's now thinking, choke point, right?
00:10:40.440 And by the way, this whole thing that's going on, everyone's like, hey, man, we got to be
00:10:43.420 careful.
00:10:43.760 The street of Hormuz is scaring the crap out of me.
00:10:45.200 What if somebody else laid on?
00:10:46.100 We can't be controlled by anybody, right?
00:10:47.400 Watch what Saudi all of a sudden came out and said, but by the way, all this time, we've
00:10:52.200 been building something no one knows about. There's an alternative that we have. You know,
00:10:56.860 we don't have to go through the Strait of Hormuz. We have been working on the Saudi Arabia's East-West
00:11:02.880 patrolling pipeline since the late 70s. And we put about $10 or $20 billion into this. And it's sweet.
00:11:09.720 It just goes right through. And we have it available. And it's five to seven million
00:11:15.120 barrels a day instead of, you know, maybe not 20 million. But still, we're building this. So now,
00:11:19.560 And suddenly, out of nowhere, I think it was a few days ago, we're ready to be in business.
00:11:24.720 We're available.
00:11:25.820 This quickly?
00:11:26.500 Yeah, we've been building it for all this year.
00:11:28.180 Think about this.
00:11:29.260 On how long they've been.
00:11:30.180 So this is why it's important as you're going through this, and Trump all of a sudden used
00:11:34.160 the DPA, the Defense Protection Act, to restart Santinette's unit for oil in California,
00:11:40.720 50,000 barrels a day.
00:11:42.200 It's not a lot, but it's still enough to kind of help out with some of the gas.
00:11:44.660 When Newsom's like, no, no, you can't come and deal with the state, you know, climate,
00:11:47.800 all this stuff.
00:11:48.240 You can't, federal government can't come and deal with it.
00:11:50.660 They're trying to lower your gas prices for you is the highest.
00:11:53.500 And he's trying to make a deal, $300 billion with India's reliance industries for new oil refinery in Texas, a first in 50 years.
00:11:59.840 And all this other conversations are happening because everyone's realizing, hey, long-term thinking, guys, yes, time out.
00:12:09.280 What are we doing to protect ourselves and hedge ourselves against a massive crisis that could happen?
00:12:14.740 that somebody wakes up, the China, you know, the US and Iran and all the Russia and Israel and all
00:12:21.580 these guys all of a sudden decide to do something. We have to be ready for it. It's all long-term
00:12:26.140 thinking and you better believe these conversations are being had right now as we speak. So if you got
