00:00:00.000 To DMX, did you ever, did you and DMX do anything or no?
00:00:04.060 Yeah, we did.
00:00:05.980 We shared.
00:00:07.660 He was one of my favorites.
00:00:08.700 I mean, I can't.
00:00:09.180 He was one of my closest friends.
00:00:11.240 God rest his soul.
00:00:12.460 Earl.
00:00:14.020 I tried to save his life.
00:00:16.380 It was like the blind leading the blind, though.
00:00:19.440 Like he was on crack, I don't want cocaine.
00:00:22.600 Different things.
00:00:23.400 One of them was a faster suicide.
00:00:25.660 But there was a point.
00:00:27.700 I'm going to tell you two DMX stories.
00:00:30.000 Or three, actually.
00:00:33.340 DMX, I got him out of having to like go to prison.
00:00:38.460 And I told him to go to a rehab center.
00:00:42.280 And like, it's called Recovery First.
00:00:45.480 Right across the street from the Hard Rock.
00:00:49.280 He goes.
00:00:50.680 I get him in.
00:00:52.380 It was court ordered.
00:00:54.800 And calls me like three days later.
00:00:58.200 Yo, Scott, I'm at the Hard Rock. 1.00
00:01:00.360 I had to fuck the nurse. 1.00
00:01:01.720 I'm like, what the fuck, bro? 1.00
00:01:03.760 I was like, they're not going to take you back. 1.00
00:01:05.180 This is not like G&G holistic or some shit. 1.00
00:01:08.420 And he's like, oh, man, what the fuck? 0.99
00:01:10.480 I called the guy, the owner. 0.99
00:01:11.600 And I'm like, yo, can you please let him out?
00:01:12.840 Nope.
00:01:14.420 Three days later, I had him come back to my house.
00:01:16.280 Three days later, I went to Mondrian.
00:01:18.500 My security calls me and says, X has 50 federal agents surrounding your house right now.
00:01:25.580 They're handcuffing him. 0.99
00:01:26.840 And he's smoking crack while they're handcuffing him, like with the handcuffs on, getting his last hit in and shit. 1.00
00:01:33.000 Some crazy shit. 0.99
00:01:34.020 So before that, I remember him staying at my house. 1.00
00:01:39.640 One of the funniest stories is I had this fucking party. 0.98
00:01:42.380 Everybody was there from Snoop, this one, that one. 0.99
00:01:45.580 And at like 730 in the morning, the party's fizzled out.
00:01:49.680 It's like Mike Epps, me, Snoop, a couple other people were chilling in my house on Palm.
00:01:56.880 I get a knock at the door, and it was Pamela Anderson. 0.90
00:02:01.860 Legend.
00:02:02.340 And I was like, wow, this is cool.
00:02:04.320 Even though that was actually one of my friends, Rick Solomon's wife.
00:02:07.040 But I never met her.
00:02:07.880 I thought it was like so cool.
00:02:09.360 It was like 07, 08, whatever.
00:02:12.580 And it was like a, I think it was like a Super Bowl party I had.
00:02:15.780 It was just like 600 people or something in the party.
00:02:18.760 And to make a long story short, I was so geeked out in my mind.
00:02:26.740 X was upstairs in one of the bedrooms, and I was like, yo, X, yo, X.
00:02:31.140 Yo, you got to see this.
00:02:32.480 He comes out, and he looks over at the banister, and he says, Baywatch.
00:02:35.700 And he just walked back in.
00:02:39.580 Said one word, Baywatch.
00:02:41.340 Baywatch.
00:02:42.120 And just walked away.
00:02:43.300 But the last one is the saddest story that I have with X.
00:02:48.760 He and I made some great, we did a video at my Indian Creek, by the way.
00:02:52.720 It's called Give Them What They Want, at my Indian Creek property.
00:02:55.520 We did a video.
00:02:56.440 It was pretty cool.
00:02:58.220 But that is not the story.
00:02:59.460 The story is this.
00:03:01.940 You'll be able to see that as my brother after I tell you this story and watch that video.
00:03:06.140 But hold up.
00:03:06.840 Steve LaBelle, my manager, one of my most recent managers.
00:03:12.420 We working.
00:03:13.180 We working.
00:03:13.980 Yeah.
00:03:14.300 Very cool guy.
00:03:17.000 He and I owned a rehab center together in L.A., Studio City.
00:03:22.220 It's called the Heavenly Center, THC.
00:03:26.640 Get out of here.
00:03:27.420 Yeah, and we were, like, it was very difficult to be, like, able to get, like, insurance companies 0.91
00:03:35.840 to cover this shit because of the weed thing and this and that, whatever. 0.91
00:03:40.100 So we kind of, like, dumbed it down. 0.99
00:03:41.920 We were, like, we are weed tolerant.
00:03:44.360 We're not supplying the weed.
00:03:45.780 You know, that type of thing, whatever. 0.99
00:03:48.100 California sober, whatever the fuck it is. 0.98
00:03:51.800 X is now on his last legs with emphysema. 1.00
00:03:55.760 And he's one hit a crack away from dying.
00:04:01.420 So we put up the bread.
00:04:03.000 This guy Frank, Sid, me, and Steve.
00:04:05.360 We put him on a private jet to Washington to detox.
00:04:12.920 He goes.
00:04:13.960 We convinced him to do it.
00:04:15.840 He goes through the whole detox program.
00:04:17.600 And he's supposed to get on the runway and go back on that same plane and go inpatient at the Heavenly Center.
00:04:24.280 He never got on that plane.
00:04:27.540 And a few weeks later, he was dead.
00:04:29.360 Wow.
00:04:30.140 I really tried to save his life.
00:04:32.280 I really love that guy.
00:04:35.000 I had his whole family stay in my house. 0.98
00:04:38.340 It was kind of fucked up, though. 0.95
00:04:39.520 Like, you know, mind you, I'm a cocaine addict at the time. 0.99
00:04:42.120 And, like, he was in there, like, trying to, like, use my coke to make crack with and shit. 1.00
00:04:46.300 It was just fucking nuts. 1.00
00:04:47.160 Like, I don't give a fuck. 1.00
00:04:48.160 I don't know if I look like a maniac by telling these stories. 0.99
00:04:50.540 It's the truth.
00:04:51.440 It was like the blind leading the blind. 0.99
00:04:52.880 Can you imagine, like, man, you really need to get your shit together? 1.00
00:04:58.980 What the fuck? 1.00
00:04:59.860 Man, you got to clean that thing up. 1.00
00:05:01.380 Yeah, man. 1.00
00:05:02.040 You know, you got to stop getting rid of that shit. 1.00
00:05:03.980 What was he like off camera? 1.00
00:05:05.940 I mean, everyone says that if there's one performer that just has the grit, the grime, the hustle, the flow, like, he was that guy. 0.98
00:05:13.160 He was the fucking man's fucking debut platinum ten times in a row. 0.98
00:05:19.420 Yeah, rough ride. 1.00
00:05:19.820 He was shitting on the game. 1.00
00:05:21.560 Did you ever see that fucking one, I forget what festival it was. 1.00
00:05:25.180 It was, like, this massive, it was like Lollapalooza. 0.99
00:05:27.960 Lollapalooza in Chicago.
00:05:29.040 Bro, like, this dude was a beast.
00:05:31.600 He was, like, he was really everything that those records were exuding was him.
00:05:38.080 When you hear that dun-dun-dun-dun.
00:05:39.660 Yeah, it never gets old.
00:05:41.020 It's one of those, hey, what's going on?
