30 seconds. One time for the underdog. Ignition sequence start.
00:00:06.980
Let me see you put them up. Reach the sky, touch the stars up above.
00:00:11.100
Cause it's one time for the underdog. One time for the underdog.
00:00:17.320
I'm Patrick Bedevi, your host of AITM. And today I'm going to talk to you about how to plan your week as an entrepreneur.
00:00:22.600
Number one. So first thing I do is I grab a blank sheet of paper and I categorize it in five different categories.
00:00:27.860
Business, finance, health, spiritual, family, right?
00:00:31.320
And every time I fill this out, by the time I'm done with my strategy session, those to-do lists end up on my phone.
00:00:37.380
So it's a reminder throughout the week on what I need to do next.
00:00:40.340
Number two. So once I have my to-do list sheet of paper right next to me on the table,
00:00:44.180
the following thing I do is I go to my calendar and I go back 90 days.
00:00:48.100
This is why I go back 90 days. A couple of reasons.
00:00:50.580
One, I'm going back to find any leaks of people I need to follow up on.
00:00:55.820
When I do that, I write the name here. I need to follow up with John.
00:00:59.460
Family. I need to follow up with Bob. Business. I need to follow up with such and such.
00:01:03.200
Personal trainer, health. I make my notes here.
00:01:05.600
The next thing I do is accountability. I look at my daily monitoring activity.
00:01:10.640
Let me explain to you what I mean by daily monitoring activity.
00:01:13.220
Every single day I have a certain set of activity I need to be doing.
00:01:16.780
So I score my week. Was this a 7? Was this a 9? Was this a perfect week? A 10?
00:01:22.300
Whatever your numbers are for your business, I don't know what it is, you've got to have certain
00:01:25.840
criterias to make it a 10. When you have a 10, you green it out. This week was a 10.
00:01:30.120
This week was a 9. But I gauge my week after week after week.
00:01:33.740
So once I have this set up, then I look at my following week that's coming up for my schedule.
00:01:39.060
So one is 90 days. The other one is the next week coming up.
00:01:42.120
This prepares me mentally on what's coming up the next week.
00:01:45.040
Number three. So look, no matter who it is, whatever kind of a business you're on,
00:01:48.160
everybody typically has a handful of people they can contact on Sunday night or Saturday.
00:01:55.320
So I'll ask them, I'll say, listen, this week we have this project coming up.
00:01:57.920
What's going on with this? And this week we've got this going on.
00:02:01.160
Are we fully prepared for this one thing that's coming up tomorrow?
00:02:05.200
I'm going to communicate typically on Sunday night with five to seven of my direct people
00:02:09.460
that I'm working with so they are also prepared for the week.
00:02:12.420
Because if I wait until Monday, we're already behind the eight ball.
00:02:15.780
So the next thing I do is I make a list of people that need to hear from me this week.
00:02:19.260
Meaning vendors, partners, executives, sales clients.
00:02:22.600
Who needs to hear from me and what kind of message is it?
00:02:24.700
Is it an encouraging message? Is it an accountability?
00:02:32.900
I make that as a list of people I need to follow up with and I add that to my to-do list.
00:02:38.520
So now that I've done that, my to-do list is going to tell me any big meetings I have coming up.
00:02:45.560
I'm having a meeting with certain carriers, insurance companies.
00:02:48.480
And what do I have to prepare for this meeting, right?
00:02:51.100
So stuff that I need to prepare, data, quote, if it's a sales training, whatever it is I need to prepare for that.
00:02:57.360
And others, if it's investors, what other deck do I need to have a presentation, a PowerPoint?
00:03:04.160
If it is a lot, I'll make sure the people that are helping me with this start putting it together as well.
00:03:09.780
So one of the things I like to do is I like to send gifts, cards, any kind of certain things, flowers, edible arrangement.
00:03:17.060
Who is supposed to be getting something from me this week?
00:03:22.560
By the way, this is family, business, finance, every one of them.
00:03:25.560
Who needs to hear from me as far as a gift goes?
00:03:29.980
So depending if you're married, you have kids, you're single, family, mom, dad, brother, sister, boyfriend, girlfriend, whatever it may be.
00:03:41.600
I need to know what is needed from me this week.
00:03:43.740
Especially if you have kids, it's very critical for you to know, hey, we have a family thing going on with the teacher here on such and such date.
00:03:57.640
I'm reading industry stuff that's taking place.
00:04:01.360
I got to get my mind mentally prepared for the crazy week that's about to come up.
00:04:05.400
And I feed myself for about an hour reading on Sunday night.
00:04:10.500
So right after that, what I like to do is study numbers.
00:04:12.500
I mean, I love studying numbers because it tells a story, right?
00:04:15.660
So yes, I track my activity on 90 days and what I got coming up this week.
00:04:20.480
But what I do next is study numbers, actual numbers.
00:04:23.720
If you're doing real estate, how many homes did you sell last month, the month prior to that?
00:04:28.500
I sit there and I look at how many people did we sell a policy to?
00:04:39.020
I'm looking at all of those numbers together to prepare me and know exactly where my business
00:04:45.000
Because I don't want to be caught with a surprise when I go and knowing, wait a minute, this
00:04:50.720
I want to know all of it before I start my week.
00:04:53.400
So this last one may sound weird to you, but I prepare my clothes for the following
00:04:56.460
day because I don't like to wake up in the morning looking at my closet saying, what am
00:05:00.860
If I had a mightwear, I'd wear a white shirt every single day with blue jeans and flip
00:05:07.540
So I put my suits up to tie all this other stuff.
00:05:10.260
I work at clothes night before so in the morning I don't need to do any thinking about clothes.
00:05:15.180
So listen, the whole purpose of doing this is for two reasons.
00:05:17.540
One, for you to be prepared for your week so you're not really stressed out going to sleep
00:05:20.580
at night, and two, to actually have a strategy going into your week.
00:05:24.680
By the way, think about what a small percentage of people actually spend a couple hours on
00:05:31.640
You're beating 90% of your competition if you do this.
00:05:34.280
So here's what I'm going to start doing on a weekly basis.
00:05:36.060
And by the way, for some of you that are saying, man, I found so many leaks in my business
00:05:42.360
This video itself for consulting could be $100,000 for me to spend time breaking down the leaks
00:05:47.560
people have in their businesses, but this video is also on Valuetainment.
00:05:50.740
The title of this video is, How to Find Leaks in Your Business.
00:05:53.860

00:05:57.960
other leaks in your business that you currently have.
