00:00:00.000 30 seconds. One time for the underdog. Ignition sequence start. Let me see you put them up. Reach the sky, touch the stars up above. Cause it's one time for the underdog. One time for the underdog.
00:00:17.300 I'm Patrick Baderi, host of ITM and today we're going to talk about 10 reasons why those who exercise make more money.
00:00:23.000 Point number one, what happens when you exercise? Your mind becomes sharper. Just think about it this way.
00:00:28.120 When you come to work and you haven't exercised, you're lethargic. Sometimes it takes an hour or two before you even get into the flow of doing things, right?
00:00:37.380 When you exercise prior to coming to work, your mind is sharper right off the bat. You just kind of want to get into it. You're in a flow of things.
00:00:44.140 You're going, you're moving, you're coming up with better ideas, better ways of having this thing advance to the next level.
00:00:49.400 What if we do this? What if we do that? What if we do this? Everything does better because your mind is sharper.
00:00:54.160 Point number two, which is an extension of point number one, problem solving. You become a better problem solver.
00:01:00.200 Problem solving requires point number three, which is energy. If you don't have energy, you can't solve problems.
00:01:07.560 Why? Because, so think about it this way. If you're in a room, in a boardroom, everybody's going back and forth trying to solve problems.
00:01:13.460 And you see everybody do this one signal. Let me tell you what the signal is. This is the signal. You ready?
00:01:17.160 This is the signal of somebody saying, we should just figure something out and leave the boardroom. This is how it looks like.
00:01:24.320 You know what the signal is? What is the signal? I want to go home, right?
00:01:28.300 The signal is, I want to finish this meeting here. We should already wrap up.
00:01:31.800 You could have been seven minutes away from solving this problem in a way so effective that would have helped you take your business to the next level.
00:01:40.020 But you were so tired because you're lethargic from not exercising, not having a proper diet, that you just made the good decision instead of the best decision.
00:01:47.540 So you don't advance to the next level. And by the way, this happens in sports. This happens in business.
00:01:52.540 This happens in everything you watch because you can tell when decisions are made and this is what happens.
00:01:58.020 The person goes like this. Ah, let's just do it. That's not the best decisions.
00:02:02.260 That's just a decision. It's not the best decision. The best decision is, um, if we do this, it does this.
00:02:07.840 If we do this, it does this. If we do this, it does this. Here, let's write this on, ta-ta-ta-ta-ta.
00:02:11.280 You know what? I think this is the best decision. We're moving with this.
00:02:13.780 What do you guys think? Great. Let's move forward, right? Because you need energy.
00:02:16.500 Point number four. You have better sex in life. Now, what do you mean by better sex in life?
00:02:20.180 Why is this so critical? I hate to say it to you. You know, when you do better in bed and you're having a better sex life, you just feel better.
00:02:26.660 I know this sounds crazy for some people, but it's a part of it.
00:02:28.900 You come to work and you had a good session in the morning, you feel like a freaking rock star, right?
00:02:33.600 Or you come to work, you had a good night the night before. You know, things were pretty exciting.
00:02:38.120 There's a lot of noise being made. Some, you know, intensive, you know, things are happening there.
00:02:42.920 Things are getting heated. The window's getting foggy. You know, you kind of come to work with a little pep in your step.
00:02:48.260 You know, your shoulders are back. Your chin is up. You're like, you have no idea who you're in business with, people.
00:02:53.460 You got a rock star in the house. Better sex life. Believe me.
00:02:57.280 You will feel better when the lights are on. You don't have to say, honey, can we turn the lights off, please?
00:03:02.700 You want to turn the lights off because you're not exercising. You don't mind leaving the lights on if you're exercising.
00:03:07.580 I know this stinks, but it's the reality part of things that we don't like to talk about.
00:03:11.500 Point number five. Less jealousy and envy. Why?
00:03:15.640 We become jealous and envious of other people because other people may be taking care of their lives, their shape, their bodies, and we're not.
00:03:24.620 And we're saying, well, you know, wow, what about with this guy?
00:03:27.340 Well, what are you so worried about this guy? Why are you so jealous of this guy?
00:03:29.680 You know, who is this guy? All he cares about is his body, and all she cares about is her body.
00:03:34.540 So why don't you take care of your body, and why don't you have better diet, and why don't you stop eating junk food, and why don't you drink some more water, and why don't you have some diet?
00:03:41.960 Right? Yeah, you know, but life is not all about being in shape, you know, all this other stuff.
00:03:45.960 When you age, your body does this, and it's because of my age, and it's because of this.
00:03:51.140 I'm sorry, but I've met 70-year-olds that are in better shape than 25-year-olds.
00:03:55.340 I've met people that are in shape at 70, 75 years old.
00:03:58.480 So when you exercise, and you're comfortable in your body, I'm not telling you to go out there and look like some of these models.
00:04:03.540 It's not the point.
00:04:04.180 But I'm telling you, when you work out, and your energy is good, you don't have a lot to be envious and jealous about,
00:04:09.720 because you know that you're putting the time in yourself to stay in shape.
00:04:12.660 Point number six, better memory.
00:04:14.120 When you have better memory, you have better relationships.
00:04:15.980 You know why?
00:04:16.420 Because people like you when you remember things.
00:04:19.100 People like you when you remember their names.
00:04:20.760 People like you when you remember conversations.
00:04:22.380 People like you when you remember something that happened two years ago, six years ago.
00:04:26.700 You're like, wow, he remembers this.
00:04:28.840 This is kind of cool.
00:04:29.780 And by the way, memory also benefits you in negotiation.
00:04:33.760 Memory helps you when you're selling.
00:04:35.660 Memory helps you when you're doing follow-up.
00:04:37.200 Memory helps you when you run into a customer at a networking event.
00:04:40.260 Say, Larry, good seeing you.
00:04:41.640 I remember, how's your family doing?
00:04:42.900 Your wife was going through some stuff because she was running the marathon at that time.
00:04:46.560 How did she do with the marathon?
00:04:47.540 Oh, you remember.
00:04:48.120 I was great.
00:04:49.260 All of these things help because you have a sharper memory.
00:04:53.180 Point number seven, stress relief.
00:04:55.380 You have a lot of stress.
00:04:56.300 If you're performing, if you're an executive, if you're a leader, if you're running a gun, you're
00:04:59.360 going after it.
00:04:59.900 I got a call earlier today.
00:05:01.220 Somebody told me, says, hey, Pat, how's everything with you?
00:05:03.560 This is an old friend from high school.
00:05:05.280 I'm talking years ago, 17, 18 years old.
00:05:08.140 We used to cause havoc in LA.
00:05:10.100 He called me, says, hey, man, you know, I'm just seeing you everywhere.
00:05:13.040 How are you feeling about all this hard work?
00:05:15.160 You know, aren't you under stress?
00:05:17.000 You know, the higher the decisions you make, the person that's got the most stress in their
00:05:21.120 lives right now is a guy that's called the President of the United States.
00:05:23.740 That guy's got stress.
00:05:25.520 Okay, because anything he does, 50 million publications about him that he's the worst president
00:05:30.760 of all time.
00:05:31.540 That stress.
00:05:32.480 What we do is we're running a business.
00:05:33.640 We have family.
00:05:34.200 This is not big stuff.
00:05:35.460 There's got to be a release, an exercise that helps you have a release of that stress.
00:05:40.280 You sleep better, which is the next point.
00:05:42.400 Sleeping better helps you perform better.
00:05:45.440 Meaning, when you go home at night, how do you sleep?
00:05:48.100 Do you ever complain about the fact that, you know, I just, I don't know why I have a hard
00:05:51.720 time sleeping at night.
00:05:52.700 I just don't sleep very good at night.
00:05:54.640 I wake up two or three, four different times.
00:05:57.060 Well, guess what?
00:05:57.640 Have you ever gone home because you had such a crazy hard working day that you would have
00:06:03.100 slept in your car?
00:06:04.240 Like, have you ever fallen asleep in your car going home?
00:06:07.520 Why is that?
00:06:08.400 You work your tail off, right?
00:06:10.060 When you get home.
00:06:11.080 So what if you exercise?
00:06:12.860 You really gave everything that day.
00:06:14.140 You go home, you spend a little bit of time with your kids, your family, whatever you're
00:06:16.880 doing.
00:06:17.680 And then you hit the sack.
00:06:18.880 Two minutes, you're gone.
00:06:20.060 Well, you sleep better.
00:06:21.220 Why do you sleep better?
00:06:22.120 You're heavier.
00:06:23.220 You sleep heavier.
00:06:24.300 You're deeper thoughts.
00:06:25.540 Why?
00:06:25.960 Because you worked out that.
00:06:27.420 Then your body needs rest.
00:06:28.660 So your body says, I've worked out today.
00:06:30.760 I have work today.
00:06:31.760 Guess what time it is, Pat?
00:06:32.900 What time?
00:06:33.580 We need to sleep.
00:06:34.440 Shut it down.
00:06:35.400 Boom, you go to sleep, right?
00:06:36.340 So you sleep better when you exercise.
00:06:38.440 Point number nine, longevity.
00:06:40.340 You last longer in business, which means your value in the marketplace is higher.
00:06:45.480 Let me explain to you what I mean by this.
00:06:47.660 This has got nothing to do with your age.
00:06:49.900 I see 27-year-olds that are 300 pounds, 5'10", that will have a shorter lifespan of effectiveness
00:07:00.260 in the corporate world or business than I see a guy that's 53 years old who runs 20 miles
00:07:06.840 every week.
00:07:07.960 He is 5'10", 160 pounds.
00:07:10.860 That person's longevity in business is higher than the 27-year-old because the 27-year-old
00:07:15.340 is walking around like this, and that is not good for your health, and it's not good for
00:07:21.140 valuation of your lifetime, of the amount of money you're going to be making.
00:07:24.100 So we've got to figure out a way to have your longevity and life be higher, and believe me,
00:07:28.640 this is not an easy conversation to have with anybody.
00:07:31.600 Some of you are watching this, right?
00:07:32.760 I probably lost a lot of viewers on today's episode, but if you're still here with us,
00:07:37.460 guess what?
00:07:37.920 More power to you for having the courage to listen to these types of difficult conversations
00:07:43.620 that none of us want to have.
00:07:45.720 Believe me, last year, year and a half ago, I was so casual with my body, I went to 257
00:07:51.780 pounds.
00:07:52.460 I dropped 27 pounds and I kept it.
00:07:54.920 I stayed at 230 because that's my body weight for being 6'4".
00:07:58.800 Longevity, your value goes higher the longer you can last.
00:08:02.620 Point number 10.
00:08:04.480 You become more attractive.
00:08:06.320 Now, what do I mean by more attractive?
00:08:08.240 Sometimes being more attractive is smiling.
00:08:10.500 You know, it's amazing.
00:08:12.100 A guy can go from looking like a 5 to a 7 the moment he smiles, right?
00:08:16.180 You've got a smile on your face.
00:08:17.280 You're just more attractive.
00:08:18.540 And you smile more the more you exercise because your body's moving, you feel better, right?
00:08:23.060 So you become more attractive.
00:08:24.560 People want to be around more attractive people.
00:08:26.840 People want to do business with more attractive people.
00:08:29.280 People want to refer more attractive people.
00:08:31.220 You become attractive.
00:08:32.460 It helps in your business.
00:08:33.680 And all of this here that we talked about, the 10 points, helps you make more money and
00:08:38.240 helps you advance in life to the next level.
