00:00:00.000 30 seconds, one time for the underdog, ignition sequence start, let me see you put em up, reach
00:00:09.240 the sky, touch the stars up above, cause it's one time for the underdog, one time for the
00:00:16.240 underdog.
00:00:17.340 I'm Patrick Beddivy, your host of Ayitem, and today we're going to talk about creating
00:00:20.760 content.
00:00:21.500 Yes, for you to create content and to brand yourself, there are different strategies that
00:00:26.940 work with different people.
00:00:28.140 I'm going to break it down in a way that applies to you.
00:00:31.660 Number one, why create content?
00:00:34.680 One of these is probably going to describe you.
00:00:37.140 Let's go through it.
00:00:37.720 First thing is influence.
00:00:38.940 You want more influence.
00:00:39.900 You want influence amongst your family, amongst your community, amongst your people you do
00:00:44.320 business with, your peers, it doesn't matter.
00:00:45.880 You're looking to have more influence.
00:00:47.380 Number two, SEO purposes.
00:00:49.520 Let me explain what I mean by this.
00:00:51.400 Before I started creating content on value attainment, I used to just create content on our company's
00:00:56.200 website to give it better SEO because an article would be shared, then they would go on the
00:01:01.320 company's website and they would say, oh my gosh, this is an interesting company.
00:01:03.840 What do you do?
00:01:04.320 Then I'd get a lead and somebody would contact me about wanting to do business with them.
00:01:07.920 That's another reason to create content or it's personal.
00:01:10.780 You have a website, you create content, it gets shared.
00:01:12.620 People say, wow, who is this guy?
00:01:13.780 Who is this gal?
00:01:14.740 I want to get to know more.
00:01:15.840 Then they go to the about you section.
00:01:17.920 They read up on you and then they follow you on Twitter, follow you on Instagram, see the pictures
00:01:21.100 you post.
00:01:21.480 They send you messages and say, when can we get on a call together?
00:01:24.300 That happens all the time.
00:01:26.200 Number three, targeting keywords.
00:01:27.940 You have certain set of keywords that have to do with your business on a daily basis.
00:01:32.360 Real estate, finance, pharmaceutical, doctor, soccer mom, parenting, whatever it is that's
00:01:39.600 the keywords you're specifically looking for, you want to target that.
00:01:42.680 Number four, positioning.
00:01:43.800 You want to be seen as an expert in your industry.
00:01:46.800 So they see the content by you, this guy may be an expert.
00:01:49.000 You want to have influence, you want to have a voice, you want to have credibility.
00:01:52.100 Your purpose to create content may be purely positioning within your own industry.
00:01:56.200 Five, fame.
00:01:56.960 Maybe you want to be famous.
00:01:58.100 Maybe for you it's like, look, honesty, I'll just be honest with you.
00:02:01.300 I want to walk in the streets and I want people to know who I am.
00:02:03.740 Cool, at least you're being honest about it.
00:02:05.560 You want fame, that's another reason.
00:02:06.840 Number six, money.
00:02:08.240 You kind of want to create content, have some influence where all of a sudden you're getting
00:02:12.060 sponsorships.
00:02:12.980 You know, we got a call from Amazon.
00:02:14.380 Amazon wants to do a sponsorship with Valuetainment.
00:02:16.880 We may or may not be interested in the sponsorship, but they contacted us.
00:02:20.480 This happens all the time.
00:02:21.580 This may be a route that you want to go yourself.
00:02:23.480 Next one.
00:02:24.420 Seven, selfish, fun, prank.
00:02:27.800 For you it's like, I just want to have fun.
00:02:30.060 That's why I want to create content.
00:02:31.200 I want you to see the fun side of me.
00:02:32.560 This is who I am and I don't care whether you like it or not.
00:02:34.860 This is kind of what I want to do.
00:02:36.440 I like creating content.
00:02:37.780 I'm having fun creating content.
00:02:39.680 Honestly, it's brought me and my sister closer.
00:02:41.580 It's brought me and my husband closer.
00:02:43.400 It's brought me and my friends closer.
00:02:44.620 I kind of like what I'm doing and whether you like it or not, I really don't care.
00:02:48.280 This is really who I am.
00:02:49.220 I'm 17 years old.
00:02:50.500 I want to draw this and this is what we talk about.
00:02:52.720 No problem.
00:02:53.420 That's another one.
00:02:54.120 Next one.
00:02:55.020 Could be legacy.
00:02:55.980 You're documenting your content because one day you wish your parents recorded you when
00:03:01.340 you were four years old and there's no content of you when you were four years old and you're
00:03:05.260 creating content.
00:03:05.960 So one day when you're not around, your kids, your grandkids can sit there and say, that's
00:03:09.940 the grandpa.
00:03:10.720 That's my grandma.
00:03:11.980 What was she thinking about at this time?
00:03:13.920 What was he thinking about at this time?
00:03:15.600 How old was grandpa in here?
00:03:17.420 How old was grandma in here when she wrote this?
00:03:19.360 I wonder.
00:03:19.820 Let me see.
00:03:20.500 Wow, she was 32 years old.
00:03:22.080 What was she going through?
00:03:22.940 Was mom born yet?
00:03:24.340 That's the, by the way, we're not even experiencing that yet.
00:03:26.400 We're not going to experience this for another 20, 30, 40 years until people start dying off
00:03:29.940 and we're reading the content.
00:03:31.060 That is so still early on that part of legacy and documenting.
00:03:35.580 Next, it could be impact.
00:03:36.560 You want to make an impact around the world?
00:03:38.060 Next one is therapy.
00:03:39.080 Let me explain what I mean by therapy.
00:03:41.480 There are people that after creating content and they say, I'm a veteran.
00:03:46.780 I was in the military.
00:03:48.160 I got out.
00:03:49.020 I'm not going to lie to you and tell you everything was good.
00:03:51.140 I was going through PTSD because I went to Afghanistan and I saw people dying.
00:03:55.280 My friend died in my arms.
00:03:56.420 This was very difficult for me.
00:03:57.660 I started drinking and I'm just sharing with you my pain and this is therapeutic to
00:04:02.500 me.
00:04:02.640 And then all of a sudden, 80 other veterans say, I feel you.
00:04:05.620 Me too.
00:04:05.980 Then there's a community and that works for that community.
00:04:08.720 That could be the case for you.
00:04:10.140 Next one could be internal.
00:04:11.140 Let me explain to you what I mean by internal.
00:04:12.380 We use this a lot.
00:04:13.680 Internal could be you're creating content.
00:04:15.880 You had a family reunion, okay?
00:04:17.780 You put the video together.
00:04:18.920 You create a channel for the Johnson reunion.
00:04:22.020 And that channel creates content that's only for the Johnson family and all the videos
00:04:26.140 are unlisted.
00:04:27.200 It's only for the family to watch and you share with the family.
00:04:30.500 Or you're running a business.
00:04:32.280 You're running an office and you have people that are of other offices and you're trying
00:04:37.720 to get a message to your technology or engineers and you say, hey, this is what's on my mind
00:04:42.020 right now.
00:04:42.900 Here's what I'd like to see everybody doing the company.
00:04:45.160 And this goes to your 10 independent folks that are working for you, freelancers that's
00:04:49.820 working for you.
00:04:50.340 That's a completely different reason to create content.
00:04:52.940 That helps you increase the value of your company, your family, your relationship, your
00:04:56.080 friends.
00:04:56.800 You're doing a fantasy football.
00:04:58.440 So you have an internal channel for your 20 friends that are doing fantasy football.
00:05:02.120 You create content.
00:05:03.020 John, I'm going to kick your ass.
00:05:04.340 I'm going to do this.
00:05:05.320 That's still creating content.
00:05:06.560 Now, one of these you connect with.
00:05:09.760 If you're connecting with one of them, your next question is going to be, okay, now what
00:05:13.240 do I do?
00:05:13.620 Now let's talk about the types of content for you to create.
00:05:17.420 Here it is.
00:05:18.180 Trending news.
00:05:18.940 What happened today?
00:05:20.740 Trump, business, sports, trending.
00:05:23.560 Something that just took place today.
00:05:25.400 Two, business, money, politics, education, philosophy, entertain, comedy, humor, technology,
00:05:33.920 product review.
00:05:34.980 Let me do a review on this new product.
00:05:37.040 There are people that do product reviews that are doing Lego reviews.
00:05:40.180 You know how I know that my kids watch those reviews on toys?
00:05:42.920 And they put them together, right?
00:05:44.760 There's so many different things with product review.
00:05:46.940 Vlog, family, how-to.
00:05:49.620 Those are some of the types of content that you can create.
00:05:52.360 Now A, tap.
00:05:53.240 Remember this acronym, tap.
00:05:54.680 Type, audience, platform.
00:05:56.460 A, who's your audience?
00:05:58.360 Niche.
00:05:59.020 Industry.
00:05:59.800 It's only real estate.
00:06:01.200 It's financial.
00:06:02.600 It's sports.
00:06:03.880 It's such and such.
00:06:04.960 It's a niche, right?
00:06:06.100 Who you're going to.
00:06:07.380 Age.
00:06:07.880 I'm looking for 16-year-olds.
00:06:09.580 25-year-olds.
00:06:10.680 40-year-olds married with kids.
00:06:12.880 55-year-olds getting closer to retirement.
00:06:15.200 Whatever it is.
00:06:15.920 Age.
00:06:17.040 Demographic.
00:06:18.020 Certain demographic you're looking for.
00:06:19.800 Women.
00:06:20.480 Men.
00:06:21.340 Single.
00:06:22.100 Married.
00:06:22.720 Divorced.
00:06:23.480 Widowed.
00:06:24.360 A wife of a veteran who's serving in the military and she's by herself for 18 months
00:06:28.960 while he's on whatever it is.
00:06:30.780 It's a specific targeted demographic that you want to touch.
00:06:34.420 Next, views.
00:06:35.360 Maybe they share the same views as you.
00:06:37.500 Politically.
00:06:38.320 Spiritually.
00:06:39.240 Philosophically.
00:06:39.760 That's the interest that they may have.
00:06:41.480 It's similar to yours.
00:06:42.520 I'm watching NBA.
00:06:43.680 Stephen A. Smith says something.
00:06:45.060 I respond to Stephen A.
00:06:46.160 Stephen A. Smith is wrong.
00:06:47.680 He has no clue what he's talking about.
00:06:49.060 Maybe it's hip-hop.
00:06:51.180 Maybe it's a music world or certain area that you're talking to that's interest.
00:06:55.840 Area.
00:06:56.420 Country.
00:06:56.900 I'm mainly targeting London.
00:06:58.760 UK.
00:06:59.600 But for me, it's San Francisco.
00:07:01.200 I'm out of the Houston area.
00:07:02.600 So, H-Town.
00:07:03.840 Right?
00:07:04.040 I'm going to go to specific areas that you're going for.
00:07:07.240 Right?
00:07:07.560 And last but not least, language.
00:07:08.600 You're doing these videos on Spanish.
00:07:10.420 Right now, there's a channel called Valuetainment Russia.
00:07:12.680 It's videos that are specifically for Russia.
00:07:15.300 They take our videos on what I'm doing, and a translator translates the whole thing.
00:07:19.940 If you were to go watch my interview with Michael Francisi on the channel in Russian,
00:07:23.960 it's an hour and seven minutes, all in Russian, going back and forth.
00:07:27.100 But it's a language.
00:07:28.160 And they decided to focus on Russia.
00:07:29.740 I think the Valuetainment Russia channel has like 40,000 subscribers as of today.
00:07:33.280 So, what is that language you want to focus on?
00:07:35.180 So, type, audience, platform.
00:07:37.580 Let's talk about platform.
00:07:38.480 You've got to realize that for everybody watching this, okay?
00:07:43.700 I connect with a girl who is a professional bodybuilder.
00:07:48.000 She's got an eight-pack.
00:07:49.480 It doesn't even make any sense what she looks like.
00:07:51.340 When I go do my physical, she takes my blood, and it's all these people that are there,
00:07:55.480 and they're all fitness and shape, all these things.
00:07:58.240 I look at her.
00:07:58.960 Her content is purely about fitness, is what she's doing.
00:08:02.860 Here's the point.
00:08:03.960 If you've got a face, and you look incredibly good, you've got to use it, okay?
00:08:08.300 If you've got a voice, and you're a good communicator, you've got to use it.
00:08:12.460 If you've got a body, and you look good, maybe you use that because it's for fitness, right?
00:08:17.560 If you're a great writer, you're very good.
00:08:20.700 You've got to use it.
00:08:22.180 If you're good in front of the camera, you've got to use it.
00:08:24.380 But you've got to know which one works for you, right?
00:08:27.160 Now, watch this.
00:08:28.280 Name, face, body.
00:08:29.820 One of those three works for you.
00:08:31.240 You've got a last name.
00:08:32.600 Your last name, everybody knows.
00:08:34.200 Use it.
00:08:34.760 So now, platforms.
00:08:35.960 Written, write a blog.
00:08:37.660 LinkedIn, or another blog.
00:08:38.960 There's so many blogs for you to use.
00:08:40.260 Pick.
00:08:41.140 Insta.
00:08:41.960 So you want to put a picture, and you write something on Instagram.
00:08:45.760 Audio.
00:08:46.320 Podcasts.
00:08:46.840 There's so many places right now to use for podcasts, and your speaking, your thoughts,
00:08:51.000 any of these things you're talking about, right?
00:08:53.420 Podcasts.
00:08:53.860 By the way, many of you don't know that Valuetainment is on iTunes.
00:08:56.780 Just go to iTunes, type in Valuetainment.
00:08:58.640 And all our stuff, I think like 212 episodes as of today are on podcast.
00:09:03.180 So some of you are driving, you want to listen to it in your car.
00:09:05.600 Click on a Valuetainment channel.
00:09:06.800 You can subscribe, post some comments there, your reviews there, and actually listen to
00:09:10.780 this stuff while you're working.
00:09:11.840 We have a podcast as well.
00:09:13.580 Video.
00:09:14.380 YouTube.
00:09:15.140 Facebook.
00:09:15.680 Facebook wants to compete with YouTube.
00:09:17.360 So does LinkedIn.
00:09:18.420 Instagram.
00:09:19.940 Snapchat.
00:09:20.660 Twitch.
00:09:21.360 For some people that are gamers.
00:09:22.720 That's a completely different world.
00:09:23.980 That's a niche as well, by the way.
00:09:25.000 Gamer here.
00:09:26.000 The gamer world is Twitch.
00:09:27.680 By the way, we have a Twitch channel.
00:09:29.080 Every once in a while, I get on there.
00:09:31.360 I played Backgammon the other day with Victor Ashkenazi.
00:09:34.300 You would have watched me play the game with Backgammon with Victor Ashkenazi.
00:09:37.760 You would have watched a live on Twitch.
00:09:39.100 You can follow us on Twitch Valuetainment.
00:09:40.980 That's for gamers.
00:09:41.860 Our guys sometimes here at the home office, at the studio, they play FIFA.
00:09:45.820 The new FIFA.
00:09:46.540 And you're sitting there, listening to them talk smack.
00:09:48.620 That's a complete way to create content.
00:09:50.640 So now, we've covered why to create content.
00:09:53.860 Type, audience, platform.
00:09:55.600 Now let's talk about rules.
00:09:56.920 Okay?
00:09:57.480 And by the way, my rules are my rules.
00:10:00.960 It doesn't mean they're your rules.
00:10:02.800 I could be wrong.
00:10:03.820 There's a lot of people that disagree with my rules.
00:10:05.820 But these are my rules.
00:10:07.080 And these are some things I want you to be thinking about.
00:10:08.980 Number one, more content doesn't equal more influence.
00:10:13.580 Let me say it again.
00:10:14.060 More content doesn't necessarily equal more influence.
00:10:19.000 Some people just want to put so much content out there.
00:10:21.540 We were coming up.
00:10:22.980 And we were studying other channels.
00:10:24.880 And I thought this was the philosophy.
00:10:27.340 And one of the channels had 4,000 videos on their YouTube channel in the business world.
00:10:32.080 One of the biggest names.
00:10:33.740 And it's a content creator.
00:10:35.080 It's a brand.
00:10:35.840 It's not even an individual.
00:10:36.980 It's a company.
00:10:38.440 And they had been creating content since YouTube first got started.
00:10:40.960 I said, why do they only have 200,000, 300,000 subscribers?
00:10:44.060 They got 4,000 videos.
00:10:45.560 Then I went and watched the videos.
00:10:47.120 And I looked at it.
00:10:48.120 228 views.
00:10:49.800 193 views.
00:10:51.460 673 views.
00:10:52.780 498 views.
00:10:53.460 Their last 50 videos.
00:10:55.020 One of the videos had 10,000 views.
00:10:57.080 And then I went to the beginning and I saw they had three videos that had a couple million
00:11:01.660 views.
00:11:02.060 So those few videos that got a couple million views that they posted five years ago is the
00:11:07.560 reason why they have this many subscribers.
00:11:09.080 It's not because of what they're doing today.
00:11:10.200 So this whole strategy of let me just throw stuff up on the wall.
00:11:13.180 You can't be doing that.
00:11:13.860 Look, I, every single time we take more time to create content, it always shows on the
00:11:20.900 numbers and the results.
00:11:22.240 Every single time.
00:11:23.360 If we take more time to create content, it always shows on the results.
00:11:26.740 Every single time.
00:11:28.160 Just look at the different personalities on YouTube who get interviewed by different people.
00:11:32.100 And look at the viewership and the commentary below.
00:11:34.700 Read the comments below.
00:11:35.840 And you'll be able to say, this person interviews deeper.
00:11:40.440 This person's same subject rules for money.
00:11:43.700 This person's same subject, you know, mistakes I met as an entrepreneur.
00:11:47.260 This person's same subject, but their views are higher.
00:11:50.520 Why is it deeper?
00:11:52.200 What's going on here that's different?
00:11:54.000 Or is it just, let me share with you how to go become a millionaire?
00:11:56.620 Because guess what?
00:11:57.400 The word millionaire does very well when I put it on a title.
00:12:00.000 You've got to get deeper with the content you're creating.
00:12:01.960 So right there.
00:12:02.480 Number two.
00:12:03.400 Control the narrative.
00:12:04.660 If you don't talk about what you believe in, what your views are, who you are as an individual,
00:12:10.240 the world is going to control who you are.
00:12:12.300 Because they'll tell everybody who you are.
00:12:13.800 One of the biggest benefits today, I was watching an interview the other day, on when they asked
00:12:19.480 LeBron about him missing free throws.
00:12:21.700 Because LeBron's been missing a lot of free throws.
00:12:23.380 And Stephen A. Smith came and said, LeBron is a career 73% free throw shooter, right?
00:12:28.940 But 50% free throw shooter last five minutes of the game.
00:12:31.880 And when it comes down to the deciding game free throws, he's like 40%.
00:12:35.300 And he says, LeBron's never been a big free throw shooter.
00:12:39.320 Then, his partner comes out and says, in today's social media world, you can't hide.
00:12:45.920 You could in the 80s.
00:12:46.860 You can't today.
00:12:48.220 So when they asked LeBron, what do you think about your free throw shooting?
00:12:51.300 He says, it's horrible.
00:12:52.660 I've got to get back and practice.
00:12:54.520 I have to get back and get at these free throws.
00:12:56.660 Because I'm not good at it today.
00:12:58.740 30 years ago, he could get away with that.
00:13:00.580 Today, he has to explain it.
00:13:02.500 Because we're living in a world that if you don't control the narrative,
00:13:06.160 and talk about the things you're dealing with,
00:13:08.260 somebody else is going to control the narrative,
00:13:10.320 and talk about what you're dealing with.
00:13:11.980 So you've got to share your views on what you're thinking about.
00:13:13.540 One of the reasons why you ought to create content.
00:13:14.900 Number three, find your one word that works for you,
00:13:17.320 and the words that don't work for you.
00:13:19.160 Let me explain.
00:13:19.820 Get a sheet of paper.
00:13:21.240 Ask people who know you very well.
00:13:22.940 Boyfriend, girlfriend, husband, wife, mom, dad, brother, sister.
00:13:25.860 Anyone that knows you very, very well.
00:13:28.040 Your best friend who you hang out with knows you very well,
00:13:30.700 who's not afraid of telling you the truth.
00:13:32.180 And you ask them, when you think about me, what word comes to mind?
00:13:35.280 What do you mean?
00:13:36.000 What do I know a lot about?
00:13:37.100 What am I passionate about?
00:13:38.800 Movies, business, money, finance, skateboarding, sports.
00:13:43.000 Tell me what it is.
00:13:45.200 What can I go really deep in?
00:13:46.720 And then see a trend.
00:13:47.900 And then see if that word matches your passion as well.
00:13:50.320 If the word matches your passion, you go for it.
00:13:52.100 For us, the one word was entrepreneur.
00:13:54.220 Very simple.
00:13:55.320 We went after that word,
00:13:57.100 and we became who we are today on Valuetainment.
00:13:59.460 You go on YouTube, you type in the word entrepreneur,
00:14:01.180 you'll see Valuetainment all over the place.
00:14:02.640 Why?
00:14:03.300 Because we wanted that as our word.
00:14:04.800 And we learned what, believe it or not, we have a list.
00:14:09.360 Just two days ago, I sat with these guys, and I'm saying, listen.
00:14:12.180 He says, oh, look at this word here.
00:14:13.500 I said, this word on titles has never served us.
00:14:18.180 We have a handful of words that have never served us when we create content.
00:14:23.120 The excitement, the enthusiasm, the enthusiasm from the audience, it's never worked.
00:14:26.980 Why?
00:14:27.780 You have to know those words.
00:14:28.780 We know both words on what works and what doesn't work.
00:14:30.720 Number four, collaborate accordingly.
00:14:32.660 Sometimes we get people that say things like,
00:14:35.000 well, why don't you collaborate with this guy?
00:14:36.480 Why don't you collaborate with this guy?
00:14:37.620 A lot of people we've spoken to, just so you know this.
00:14:40.000 So it's not like we're, you know, are not reaching out, are not having conversations.
00:14:44.260 Some of the ones we talk to, and it's just,
00:14:46.060 maybe it's not the time right now to collaborate together.
00:14:48.020 Maybe let's try to work on a bigger project together.
00:14:49.820 So when it does happen, it's bigger.
00:14:52.520 There are some people that I listen and I talk,
00:14:54.260 that's value attainment.
00:14:55.020 We get along no problem.
00:14:55.960 And there are some people that say,
00:14:56.980 I just don't know if we have similar philosophies and beliefs.
00:15:00.340 Point.
00:15:02.080 If you get too early and you start collaborating with anybody and everybody
00:15:07.020 and you're part of a clique, you're officially part of that clique.
00:15:10.000 Everybody sees you as being part of that clique.
00:15:12.380 You have to know exactly what community you're okay being labeled with
00:15:17.060 because once you collaborate, that's what happens, right?
00:15:19.820 But once you realize, you know, I've tested, I've done some other stuff here,
00:15:23.440 I kind of feel like this is the direction we're going to be going to
00:15:25.620 and this is who we want to collaborate with.
00:15:27.240 Stay through that.
00:15:28.680 And that leads me to the next point.
00:15:29.940 Do not prostitute your brand.
00:15:31.520 A lot of people prostitute their brand.
00:15:33.320 You know, we got so many offers from people that said,
00:15:36.140 we'll pay you $100,000, we want you to say this.
00:15:38.660 We'll pay you $200,000, we want you to say this.
00:15:41.040 And we always said no because it just didn't make sense.
00:15:43.300 We get numbers of offers of people wanting to do stuff on valutainment
00:15:47.760 as sponsorship that we say no to because it doesn't match what we stand for
00:15:52.880 and so we stay true to the audience because the audience comes and says,
00:15:55.500 if we ever do any kind of sponsorships, you'll know,
00:15:59.260 I support what that brand is.
00:16:00.920 I'm going to say, I support this brand.
00:16:02.260 Here's what I think we ought to do with this brand.
00:16:03.940 And you'll say, wow, Pat's actually sponsoring somebody right now
00:16:06.220 because we use that product or we believe in that product.
00:16:08.600 Don't prostitute your brand.
00:16:09.760 Your followers will appreciate you if you don't prostitute your brand.
00:16:12.600 Number six, study your data and test.
00:16:14.880 Actually look at the numbers.
00:16:16.080 How many minutes do people stay on with you?
00:16:17.620 When you're writing an article, how many views have you got?
00:16:19.320 How many people stayed on?
00:16:20.200 Did they get off?
00:16:21.420 You know, did they comment?
00:16:22.320 Did they not comment?
00:16:23.120 What's going on good on what time?
00:16:24.460 What time when you post it?
00:16:25.860 This time works for you.
00:16:26.780 Maybe 9 o'clock isn't a good time because we're Eastern, Central, Pacific.
00:16:30.980 You've got to look at all that stuff with your data.
00:16:32.980 When you look at the data and you say, wow, this is actually good for us to start posting like this.
00:16:37.300 And I like this.
00:16:37.960 By the way, when we first started, it was about creating one content per month.
00:16:42.600 That's what I committed to.
00:16:43.540 One blog I wrote per month.
00:16:45.040 Then I went to writing once a week.
00:16:47.340 It was on a Sunday night.
00:16:48.620 That's how we started.
00:16:49.740 And then it was one video a week.
00:16:52.120 For a year and a half was one video a week.
00:16:54.820 Then two videos a week.
00:16:56.480 And then we got specific.
00:16:58.120 But we tested a lot until we got to where we're at today.
00:17:00.520 Next, show your mistakes and be vulnerable.
00:17:02.340 My gosh, I cannot tell you how many mistakes we've made.
00:17:05.240 One of the favorite videos of Itainer is the video I made 12 mistakes I made as an entrepreneur.
00:17:10.380 If you haven't watched it, I think it's like a blue thumbnail.
00:17:14.160 You can go watch it.
00:17:14.960 It talks about the mistakes I made.
00:17:16.620 If you only talk about everything you do right, it's a turn off.
00:17:20.440 You've got to talk about a lot of the mistakes you made.
00:17:22.380 Because there's no way in the world anybody makes it to the top of their game or does good at anything without having made a lot of mistakes.
00:17:29.340 People, believe it or not, want to know more about the things you did wrong and the things you did right.
00:17:34.000 Believe it or not, people want to hear your mistakes more than the things you did right.
00:17:37.940 Next, focus and stay consistent.
00:17:39.980 If you say once a month, commit to once a month and stay focused.
00:17:43.880 If you say once a week, do it once a week.
00:17:46.280 Can you imagine if the news was supposed to report every night at 8 o'clock, one day they say,
00:17:51.360 Oh, we were late today, 9.30.
00:17:53.100 Oh, we're not going to do it today.
00:17:54.180 We're going to go tomorrow.
00:17:55.160 You know, it's okay.
00:17:56.100 They can't do that.
00:17:56.880 Because then you wouldn't take them seriously.
00:17:59.220 Your audience wants to see a trend with you.
00:18:01.320 The more focused you are and consistent you are, they know every Monday more like this.
00:18:04.420 Last week, we were late on Motivation Monday by four hours.
00:18:08.320 You know how many messages we got?
00:18:10.080 If there's anything I can't stand when we do is when we're late on an episode.
00:18:14.140 Why did we go late?
00:18:15.380 It was an issue that I made a decision to go late on a video that we already had prepared.
00:18:19.380 It was already edited.
00:18:20.260 It wasn't a mistake on our team.
00:18:21.980 Myself, I woke up at 5 o'clock.
00:18:23.400 I said, this video is not going live.
00:18:24.540 I came back, I told the guys, we're reshooting.
00:18:27.080 I shot a video early in the morning after I did my cardio and then we put it up.
00:18:30.720 Four hours later, I said, we're late.
00:18:32.080 But this is the video going out.
00:18:33.460 But you got to know that your audience, how many people told us, Pat, you guys are late.
00:18:36.860 Where's it at?
00:18:37.300 Where's it at?
00:18:37.740 Where's it at?
00:18:38.520 And then we went live with them.
00:18:39.540 We apologize for being late with them.
00:18:40.840 Number nine, challenge them to question your views.
00:18:43.780 For instance, here's what I think LeBron should be doing.
00:18:46.420 Do you agree with me?
00:18:47.280 Do you not agree with me?
00:18:47.840 Tell me your thoughts.
00:18:49.200 Here's what I think needs to happen with business.
00:18:51.080 What do you think about it?
00:18:51.860 Put your thoughts below.
00:18:52.660 So, here's what I think I need to be doing with this.
00:18:55.460 Ask for people's thoughts whether they agree with your views or not because you're going
00:18:59.080 to find some stuff that's going to help you out as well.
00:19:01.900 Especially as you're coming up first and you're not an influencer yet and you want to get a
00:19:06.660 lot of dialogue, that is a good way to get participation.
00:19:08.920 And last but not least, content you create that's for today versus evergreen.
00:19:13.900 Meaning, if I talk about stuff that's relative only for today's news, it's only for today's
00:19:20.080 news.
00:19:20.620 You ain't going to watch it two years from now.
00:19:22.640 But if it's content I create that is evergreen, it's going to last a long time.
00:19:27.620 What is the pro-con of both?
00:19:29.020 Here's all it is.
00:19:30.320 If you create a content that has to do about today, it immediately gets a lot of hits.
00:19:36.440 Immediately.
00:19:37.500 But it only lasts for one day or two days.
00:19:40.220 Okay?
00:19:40.880 So, it goes like this.
00:19:41.920 Boom!
00:19:42.500 And then it's flatline.
00:19:43.660 Okay?
00:19:44.500 That's still a benefit because people want to know your views.
00:19:47.340 But if you create an evergreen content, it may go like this, but it'll last forever.
00:19:52.400 Five, ten, twenty years from now, they're still going to be watching it.
00:19:55.060 Think about How to Win Friends and Influence People, the book that was written many, many years
00:19:58.260 ago.
00:19:59.100 Eighty, nine years later, people are still reading that book because it's evergreen.
00:20:03.300 A thousand years from now, people are going to want to learn how to win friends and influence
00:20:06.840 people.
00:20:07.280 So, evergreen versus trendy today.
00:20:08.780 You can pick and choose which way you want to go.
00:20:10.420 Those are some of the rules when it comes down to creating content.
00:20:12.820 Thanks, everybody, for listening.
00:20:14.080 And by the way, if you haven't already subscribed to Valuetainment on iTunes, please do so.
00:20:18.620 Give us a five-star.
00:20:20.000 Write a review if you haven't already.
00:20:21.440 And if you have any questions for me that you may have, you can always find me on Snapchat,
00:20:25.680 Instagram, Facebook, or YouTube.
00:20:27.640 Just search my name, Patrick David.
00:20:29.180 And I actually do respond back when you snap me or send me a message on Instagram.
00:20:34.520 With that being said, have a great day today.
00:20:36.260 Take care, everybody.
00:20:36.980 Bye-bye.
