00:00:00.000 30 seconds, one time for the underdog, ignition sequence start, let me see you put em up, reach
00:00:09.220 the sky, turn the stars up above, cause it's one time for the underdog, one time for the
00:00:16.220 underdog.
00:00:17.260 I'm Patrick Bedeby, host of Value Tainment, and today we're going to talk about four personality
00:00:21.060 types.
00:00:21.540 Yes, your personality, the person you're dating's personality, your employee's personality,
00:00:26.060 your boss's personality, your business partner's personality, and how do you go about working
00:00:30.800 with these different personalities?
00:00:32.420 One of the things most entrepreneurs forget about is the fact that the most important product
00:00:37.400 that we sell is not software, it's not technology, it's not real estate, insurance, pharmaceutical
00:00:43.060 says, the most important product that you and I sell are people.
00:00:46.940 And the people who study people and understand people the best typically end up excelling
00:00:52.080 to the highest level of any company they're a part of because they understand people.
00:00:56.060 So, when you look at people, there's typically four different types of people.
00:01:00.440 I call it star.
00:01:01.820 The challenge with most of us is most of us only view the world through our lens.
00:01:07.860 It's only our lens because we do have a personality type.
00:01:11.320 Now, let me explain to you the four different types of personalities.
00:01:14.320 S stands for structure.
00:01:16.760 Now, structured people, just so you know, extremely organized.
00:01:20.420 They're about systems.
00:01:22.040 They like to work with people who have won before so they're not coming from a place
00:01:26.280 that they're saying something and they don't have credibility.
00:01:28.920 You can work with an S.
00:01:30.360 Unless you say you sit in a car with an S, you're driving, they're the passenger side.
00:01:34.020 This is what they'll typically do.
00:01:35.660 They'll typically look at your car and see stains of a water bottle there and still see
00:01:40.880 tissues over here.
00:01:41.980 See a couple stains.
00:01:42.860 Your window's not clean.
00:01:43.820 Your car's not clean.
00:01:44.620 In their mind, they don't think you're sufficient, efficient enough because you are not at their
00:01:52.960 level of being organized.
00:01:55.020 S's typically tend to look at everybody else that they can't be as good as me and nobody
00:01:59.920 can do it as good as me.
00:02:01.420 Understanding how they think is very critical.
00:02:03.800 T's is for technical.
00:02:05.780 A technical person is typically someone who they're very analytical.
00:02:10.100 They want to know everything about the product you're selling.
00:02:12.740 They want to know all the details.
00:02:15.300 They want to know all the stuff that they look at you as, do you understand the concepts?
00:02:21.140 Are you very competent on what you're talking about?
00:02:23.440 If you're not, you lose them with T's.
00:02:26.080 A's are action oriented.
00:02:27.700 These are guys that are typically loud, life of the party.
00:02:30.840 You put them somewhere, they'll network with everybody.
00:02:32.580 They'll talk to people.
00:02:34.580 Very competitive.
00:02:35.580 They love sports.
00:02:38.100 Their energy typically is out there and people, sometimes they rub people the wrong way.
00:02:42.160 That's A's.
00:02:42.940 And then you have a relationship, which is R.
00:02:45.640 Relationship folks, they love listening.
00:02:48.000 They love hugging.
00:02:49.380 They love kisses.
00:02:51.060 They love gifts.
00:02:52.440 They love being nice to them.
00:02:54.840 They're great with relationships.
00:02:57.300 They're great with people.
00:02:58.220 Typically an R is very good if they're doing biz dev and building a relationship with somebody
00:03:02.760 in your company that they're dealing with.
00:03:04.660 But understanding these four personalities becomes this challenge.
00:03:08.740 The challenge is if you are an S, you need to know who you annoy and you need to know
00:03:13.180 how to communicate with those people.
00:03:15.220 If you're an R, you need to know your weaknesses and your strengths because the reality of it
00:03:18.980 is if you look at all four, R's get offended very easily, A's get very bored easily, T's
00:03:26.660 get annoyed easily, and S's just don't think anybody can be as good as them unless if they're
00:03:32.940 another S.
00:03:33.520 That's how they think.
00:03:35.440 So one, running a business, if let's just say you're one of them and you're not strong
00:03:40.880 on the R side, you can't necessarily go and become very good as an R. You can simply go
00:03:46.280 hire somebody who's an R to do that part for you.
00:03:49.280 If you're not very technical, you can hire a technical person.
00:03:52.580 If you're not very action-oriented, you can go hire somebody who's very competitive on
00:03:56.120 the sales side to do very well.
00:03:57.760 But regardless, a very strong company, a very strong team typically has somebody with all
00:04:03.260 of these personalities together to take the company to the next level.
00:04:07.000 And you want it to advance to the next level, it'll come down to you understanding yourself
00:04:11.240 and understanding the people that you work with, your customers who you work with.
00:04:15.820 Once you learn that, business, sales, leading becomes so easy because you understand people.
00:04:22.480 And I have on my website, I have this whole thing written out, typed out, you can go out
00:04:27.160 there and get the PDF.
00:04:28.500 It's called the Star Personality.
00:04:30.260 It tells you which one of these need what when they're being led and how they lead as
00:04:35.860 well as how to work with them.
00:04:37.220 Thanks everybody for listening.
