I feel I'm so close I could take sweet victory.
00:00:10.760
Yeah, why would you bet on Goliath when we got Bet David?
00:00:16.440
This world of entrepreneurs, we get no value to haters.
00:00:22.480
I'm Patrick Bet, David, your host of Valuetainment.
00:00:24.200
Just a few months ago, I did a video on the history of U.S.-Iran Explained.
00:00:28.960
Then it was 30 minutes, and it got millions on top of millions of views.
00:00:32.040
And now, with the recent conflicts U.S. has been having with Iran,
00:00:34.920
everybody asks me, Pat, can you talk about what's going on today with Soleimani,
00:00:40.420
Should we be worried about how is U.S. going to respond?
00:00:45.980
I go into depth in this episode regarding what's going on with U.S. and Iran today.
00:00:52.400
The thing I want you to keep in mind is that I'm not going to cover everything,
00:00:54.920
although I'm going to leave the links for you to go out there and do your research.
00:00:57.140
But I'm going to give you the main things that took place leading up to the killing of Soleimani
00:01:03.460
April 8, 2019, Trump announced the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, IRGC,
00:01:12.700
So next, June 20th, U.S. drone shot down by Iranian forces.
00:01:16.440
U.S. claimed they were flying on international airspace.
00:01:20.200
Iran claims it was Iran's airspace, so they shot it down.
00:01:23.320
The next day on June 21st, Trump tweets, he stopped last-minute drone strike as retaliation.
00:01:30.720
The following day on June 22nd, Iran said they would respond firmly to U.S. if U.S. did anything.
00:01:37.460
On July 1st, Iran exceeds limited amount of enriched uranium,
00:01:40.780
which is what the most people are concerned about around the world.
00:01:45.420
Following, on September 10th, Bolton gets fired over Iran because Trump was a little bit too concerned.
00:01:51.320
A lot of people that know John Bolton, John Bolton really wants to go to war.
00:01:55.540
Some even call him a warmonger, so Trump fired him.
00:02:01.200
Aramco, that by the way just went public in September.
00:02:11.660
Houthis, which is a Yemen rebel group, took responsibility.
00:02:14.900
But pretty much everybody around the world knows this was Iran.
00:02:17.500
Next, on September 24th, Trump asks countries around the world to tighten economic tension towards Iran at U.N. General Assembly.
00:02:29.920
No responsible government should subsidize Iran's bloodlust.
00:02:35.540
This is very interesting because at this time, a month after that, I was at Monaco.
00:02:38.920
I went to Canada and I spoke to a very strong political figure out of Lebanon.
00:02:42.400
And he says, when this took place, they had to tighten all the banks, all the businesses with Iran.
00:02:47.860
This really hurt Iran's economy, but they were not feeling it yet.
00:02:56.680
They were furious because Iran, all of a sudden, with no warning, raised gas prices by 200 to 300%.
00:03:05.620
That was told by the opposition, but Amnesty International said it was around 300.
00:03:10.460
Iran denied it regardless that the event took place.
00:03:13.100
Next, on December 11th, sanctions on Iran now included shipping and airline industry,
00:03:19.840
which is obviously getting tighter and tighter and tighter with making money.
00:03:23.800
On December 27th, two days after Christmas, a U.S. contractor was killed in Iraq by Hezbollah,
00:03:31.100
And obviously, this infuriated a lot of people on Trump's administration.
00:03:35.320
A couple days later, U.S. targets militia sites as a retaliation for the attacks of the contractor that they killed.
00:03:42.680
On New Year's Eve, December 31st, a pro-Iranian paramilitary broke into a heavily fortified American embassy in Baghdad.
00:03:50.000
Now, obviously, this is like, wait a minute, are you wanting to push the envelope?
00:03:54.380
You're pushing yourself right now where the U.S. may retaliate.
00:03:59.600
Then comes January 2nd, U.S. Secretary of Defense, Mark Epser, warns Iran may be planning attacks.
00:04:07.180
So everybody's like, wait a minute, what do you mean Iran is planning attacks?
00:04:10.760
And this leads us to the big event, which is on January 3rd, okay?
00:04:13.860
U.S. kills Ghassam Soleimani at Baghdad airport at 1.20 a.m.
00:04:18.500
This is very important for you to know what 1.20 a.m. means.
00:04:21.920
Iran comes out and says there's going to be a harsh retaliation, okay?
00:04:29.380
On January 4th, Trump tweets and threatens Iran that if they do anything, we will hit 52 cultural sites of Iran,
00:04:37.100
A couple days later, he took that back and said we couldn't do it because they came back.
00:04:41.640
When it comes down to war, you cannot hit cultural sites.
00:04:45.820
But afterward, January 5th, Iraqi parliament calls for expulsion of foreign troops, meaning KUS, leave Iraq.
00:04:58.140
So Trump says if you want us to leave, we're going to put the war sanctions, worse than Iran, on Iraq.
00:05:03.440
And Iraq kind of came back and said, okay, okay, just stay.
00:05:05.820
But listen, stop kind of making our life a little bit tougher than what it is right now because Iran is trying to attack us.
00:05:10.760
January 6th, Rouhani tweets, those who refer to 52 should also remember the number 290.
00:05:21.940
In the tweet, he explains that 290 was the amount of civilians killed on an airline that was shot down under the Reagan administration back in the 80s.
00:05:33.720
January 7th, 56 people were killed in the stampede during the ceremony, during the funeral of Soleimani,
00:05:42.620
which they had to delay the funeral and actually change some of the times because of the 56 people that were killed.
00:05:50.200
Iran comes out and says on January 7th, look, we're willing to work with you.
00:05:54.560
We're willing to go peace and make this thing work.
00:05:56.820
And U.S. is like, oh, okay, Iran's willing to work with us.
00:05:59.340
So after Rouhani says that, watch what they do.
00:06:03.560
At 1.20 a.m. on January 8th, Iran shoots 12 missiles and hits Iraqi bases that houses U.S. military forces.
00:06:14.840
Then, few hours later, Khamenei comes out and talks to Iranians and says the following.
00:06:24.980
This is a way of saying we responded to what U.S. did to us.
00:06:37.820
This is the timeline we have so far on what's taking place with U.S. and Iran.
00:06:41.480
So now let's talk about who Ghassam Soleimani is.
00:06:47.400
Ghassam Soleimani was born in religious city of Rome.
00:06:49.740
He was raised in Khamenei, which Khamenei is very well known for politics that they teach and what Iran stands for and traditions.
00:06:57.500
And by the way, the funeral was held in Khamenei later on.
00:07:04.940
What I told you earlier on April 8th, Trump announced the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
00:07:12.380
At the beginning of the Iranian Revolution in 1979 and played many roles until he took over leadership of the Quds Force in 1997.
00:07:28.580
IRGC specializes in unconventional warfare and military operations that supports non-state actors.
00:07:35.560
These are rebels, militia rebels, in many countries, such as Lebanese Hezbollah, Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, in the Gaza Strip or West Bank, Yemeni, Houthis, Shia militias in Iraq, Syria and Afghanistan.
00:07:52.320
And he is the voice behind all of these guys, supporting them with strategies of what to do next.
00:07:57.040
And he is brilliant when it comes down to being strategic.
00:08:04.520
But when he passed away, it was said that 82% of Iranians supported him.
00:08:08.720
Now, part of this could be propaganda because a lot of times, you know, like there's a lot of Trump supporters that will never say they're Trump supporters until the day comes to go vote.
00:08:16.480
But they will never talk about it, never say anything.
00:08:18.460
And then, boom, 58 million people show up to go out there and vote from whatever the number is.
00:08:23.240
I don't know where you never talked about Trump because they're afraid because they know if you support Trump, maybe the media is going to say stuff to them.
00:08:29.860
There were also some people that opposed them but never wanted to say anything.
00:08:32.760
These are the people that voted to say we support him 82%.
00:08:39.660
He's seen as the potential next leader of Iran.
00:08:43.800
Not just a general military strategist, the commander of special forces.
00:08:50.980
I want to remind you, I did an interview with Sammy DeWil-Gravano.
00:08:55.240
He says, Patrick, never worry about the person that pulls the trigger.
00:08:58.680
Always worry about the person that's orchestrating in the back, behind the scenes and pulling the strings of what to do next.
00:09:20.360
A lot of times we can talk about it all from everybody's perspective on how glad they are that he's dead.
00:09:27.780
You don't mind having a guy like this on your side, if that makes any sense.
00:09:32.700
So, you know how everybody has that one friend that everybody fears?
00:09:35.880
You don't mind having that guy with you because everyone fears him.
00:09:40.560
And if he's your enemy, you've got to get rid of him because he wasn't a supporter of U.S.
00:09:54.620
Let's talk about the three reasons why there's always war and havoc in the Middle East.
00:10:01.520
Here's some basic things you've got to know about religion.
00:10:04.120
93% of the population in the Middle East, they're Muslims.
00:10:21.880
This is interesting to know what the breakdown of Muslim is.
00:10:24.040
Muslim has two different denominations, if you want to put it, right?
00:10:29.600
Now the Sunnis, of the 93% of Muslims in the Middle East, 85% are Sunnis, 15% are Shias.
00:10:39.380
In the world population, there's 1.6 billion Muslims worldwide.
00:10:44.240
Of the worldwide population, 1.4 billion is Sunnis, 200 million is Shias.
00:10:50.720
Now, how did the Sunnis and Shias controversy start?
00:10:54.040
When Prophet Muhammad died in 632, he had four followers.
00:10:57.580
One of them was Abu Bakr, which was a good friend of his.
00:11:00.780
Then it was Umar, Uthman, and then it was Ali, which was his son-in-law.
00:11:04.660
When that took place, he hadn't created a succession plan.
00:11:08.820
A lot of people said he would have chosen Abu Bakr as his successor,
00:11:13.160
because that was his best friend, and it was his number one follower.
00:11:17.560
But a lot of people said, no, it's got to be somebody part of his family, it's got to be Ali.
00:11:25.140
They voted, and they voted for Abu Bakr to be the leader and the successor of Prophet Muhammad and the Muslim religion.
00:11:33.900
They became Sunnis, and those who said Shia Ali, they became Shias.
00:11:40.240
To keep that part of mind, you have to know that Iran is mostly Shia.
00:11:43.400
90% of Iranian population, the Muslims are Shias, 10% Sunnis.
00:11:48.860
And Saudi Arabia is Sunni, so keep that in mind.
00:11:51.480
You have Iran is Shia, Iraq is in the middle, and in Saudi is Sunni.
00:11:58.160
Now, as we're looking at these things, this was religion.
00:12:02.860
Obviously, everyone knows what's going on with oil.
00:12:05.040
There's two numbers I want you to be thinking about with oil.
00:12:09.180
How many billions of barrels the top five biggest suppliers of oil are?
00:12:26.780
Three out of the five top suppliers of oil all live neighboring each other.
00:12:35.100
Three out of five are right next to each other.
00:12:36.760
Do you think there's a little bit of controversy and conflict going on there with competitiveness?
00:12:45.980
And this is a lot of the fracking that we're doing in the Dakotas.
00:12:49.060
It's not necessarily that we're bringing it in or we're selling it.
00:12:52.180
We're pretty much using everything that we need with the oil because we need it.
00:13:10.180
The reason why I put China here is for a point I'll make to you later on.
00:13:13.640
How this whole thing could hurt China, you'll see why in a minute.
00:13:32.140
By the way, 90% of all nuclear warheads are owned by two countries.
00:13:39.760
And there's only nine nations that have nuclear warheads.
00:13:43.040
Out of all the countries that we have, only nine have nuclear warheads.
00:14:12.680
You mean to tell me Germany has big of an empire that they had?
00:14:15.440
Yes, because they signed a treaty that they wouldn't.
00:14:19.820
Japan had to do some of the similar things after what happened with U.S.
00:14:22.700
Iran is not trusted to own nuclear warheads because people are afraid.
00:14:27.400
They could cause havoc here because the world is relying on the supply of oil here.
00:14:31.920
The world wants this place to be safe, not just the Middle East.
00:14:35.780
So, so far we've talked about the three reasons.
00:14:40.440
Let's talk about these countries here, this region.
00:14:43.060
They did a survey the other day saying, American voters, can you show on an unlabeled map where
00:14:50.720
And only 28% of voters could say, here's where Iran is.
00:14:55.900
Not because you wake up in the morning and go study geography.
00:14:58.420
You just have better things to do in life than want to study this map, which I understand.
00:15:07.640
Then you have Saudi Arabia, Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, and Israel is all the way on this
00:15:13.660
So, Saudi Arabia, there's a small country called Kuwait.
00:15:16.620
And then down here you got Dubai, Oman, Yemen, okay?
00:15:22.700
Iraq essentially plays the wall between Iran and Saudi Arabia.
00:15:26.600
This gives peace to Saudi Arabia because it is a cushion between them.
00:15:32.840
The weaker Iraq is, the more Iran can use their militia from here to come to Saudi.
00:15:38.380
So, to do that, I got an illustration here for you to give you an idea of who gets along
00:15:41.980
with who in this region of the Middle East, okay?
00:15:43.860
I have a Hezbollah, a lot of different things, but I'm just going to talk about three other
00:15:50.960
So, if you look at Iran, Iran gets along with Iraq, doesn't get along with Israel,
00:15:58.640
That should tell you the whole thing pretty much.
00:16:00.180
And if you look at Saudi, they don't get along with Iran or Iraq, especially today on what's
00:16:04.840
going on because Iran and Iraq have kind of joined forces a little bit today, right,
00:16:11.280
Let me bring you over here on the three countries, Iran, Saudi, and Iraq, okay?
00:16:18.020
Their size, land-wise, it's 636,000 square miles.
00:16:23.780
Saudi's only 33 million population, but they're 830,000 square miles, okay?
00:16:29.720
And then Iraq is only 38 million, but it only has 168,000 square miles.
00:16:36.180
If you combine a population of Iraq and Saudi Arabia together, it's still smaller than Iran.
00:16:41.080
And if you combine the size of land between Iran and Iraq, it's still smaller than Saudi Arabia.
00:16:47.860
So, the reason between this conflict between Iran and Saudi is because years ago, Saudi Arabia
00:16:55.660
And when the Ottoman Empire took over Iraq and then there was some conflicts, these guys
00:17:01.800
They won their land and they won this land over and they named it Saudi Arabia in 1932,
00:17:08.240
So, 1932 is the only timeline that Saudi Arabia has been around.
00:17:14.540
It hasn't been around for as long as Iran's been around.
00:17:17.000
So, up until this point, Iran was a superpower, oil, all of these things that they had.
00:17:21.880
They were still having a lot of conflict because Britain and Russia took over twice and they
00:17:29.760
Six years later, they strike oil and they realize they have more oil than anybody else
00:17:34.540
around the world at the time until they realized Venezuela's number one.
00:17:37.520
But at the time, it was Saudi Arabia has more oil than North America, Central and South
00:17:45.120
Everybody looked at Saudi Arabia as the superpower.
00:17:48.380
Now, Iran's not happy about it because Saudi's getting detention.
00:17:51.920
There's a reason why Iraq's playing a big role, right?
00:17:57.660
Iran says Persian Gulf, Saudi Arabia calls it Arabian Gulf.
00:18:01.980
Matter of fact, there was a time when Michael Wallace is interviewing the Shah and he says the
00:18:07.620
As you know, I have been across the Gulf, the Gulf that you call Persian and they call Arabian.
00:18:17.260
What was the name that you have read during your school days?
00:18:28.180
So, now, obviously, you can tell that, hey, what are you doing calling it Arabian?
00:18:32.380
What did they call you when you went to school?
00:18:38.220
There's already a little bit of competitiveness going there, right?
00:18:44.660
Because Iran and Saudi Arabia have never had a direct fight before, but there's two different
00:18:50.820
One is a cold war, which is pretty much everything except killing somebody.
00:18:57.620
Meaning threats, propaganda, rumors, anything you do.
00:19:05.160
It happened, obviously, between U.S. and Russia for a very, very long time.
00:19:07.680
But a form of war that they can go is a cold war.
00:19:11.520
What a proxy war is, when you use another nation to instigate them going against you.
00:19:17.480
So, for instance, when Iraq is going against Iran, when Saddam Hussein was running the nation,
00:19:22.880
Saudi Arabia is helping Iraq to go against Iran because that's a proxy war.
00:19:28.600
And when some of the militia is going against Saudi, they, Iran, support the militia to go
00:19:34.660
against whoever it is that they're going up against, right?
00:19:37.340
They support what militia, that's what you call a proxy war.
00:19:40.120
So, they've been going back and forth for a while.
00:19:45.640
The current situation, Iran lost their number one general.
00:19:51.380
Iran lost the person that was supposed to be the future leader of Iran.
00:19:55.020
Iran's regime, Khomeini, Ruola, these guys are excited that this man is a strategist's brain.
00:20:05.360
With our philosophies, with our belief system, with the things we believe in, the Shia, Khomeini
00:20:15.700
Think about if you lose your number one guy, okay?
00:20:23.880
It's on the list because Iran has some of the best hackers, but it's not number one on
00:20:28.300
The jugular of global economy called the Strait of Hormuz.
00:20:33.900
Okay, you see right here between Iraq and Iran and Saudi?
00:20:37.340
Right here is what's called the Strait of Hormuz.
00:20:42.820
Why is it called the jugular of global economy?
00:20:48.120
Dozens of oil tankers pass through this daily, carrying upwards of 84 million gallons of
00:20:56.060
Dozens a day each carrying 84 million gallons of oil.
00:21:07.420
20% of the flow of global supply goes through right here.
00:21:16.320
76% of the crude oil that moved through the choke point went to Asian market.
00:21:24.660
Remember how I said China has oil supply daily of 3.9 million barrels a day?
00:21:34.520
So if something happens here, a lot of the Asian market could take a hit.
00:21:40.640
If Iran really wanted to get ugly, they would do it right here and they would hurt the world
00:21:49.580
Another possibility of a 9-11 that could take place.
00:21:53.860
Let me continue on what I think could take place.
00:21:57.000
This is where we are weak as a country where U.S. is weak.
00:22:05.160
It's almost as if the Democrats and the Republicans, the Democrats would be okay for a war to start
00:22:18.120
There is such a major division that anything to get Trump out is a priority, not the protection
00:22:26.140
It's like when parents go at it, hardcore, and it's all about mom getting something from
00:22:31.620
You know, all this stuff that's taking place and they forget the kids are taking and paying
00:22:38.760
You know, he should have came and told Congress that they're going to take out Soleimani.
00:22:43.040
If he would have told Congress, Congress would have leaked it.
00:22:47.420
They would have never had a shot to killing Soleimani.
00:22:49.920
So if the intention was to kill Soleimani, they did the right thing.
00:22:53.540
If they would have told Congress, the way our setup is something would have leaked, that
00:22:57.560
We would have lost the opportunity of doing that.
00:23:01.780
And during election, Democrats and mainstream media is going to go hardcore like never before.
00:23:08.740
And the more they do, the more data they're giving to who?
00:23:19.460
This is what could be taking place right now because U.S. is weak.
00:23:24.940
Obviously, when you look at the whole timeline, Soleimani, three reasons, you know, the conditions
00:23:29.120
here between these three nations and then who has retaliation methods of Iran, what U.S.'s weaknesses
00:23:34.720
The last thing I want you to be thinking about is the following.
00:23:36.480
Obviously, if we play the game of chess, Iran took out a contractor, which many people
00:24:03.880
So it's not like it's pawn for pawn or queen for queen.
00:24:11.020
That's why Iran's foreign minister said Iran is a very patient nation.
00:24:16.200
Well, I mean that Iran is a very patient country.
00:24:21.480
We will take our action after necessary deliberation.
00:24:27.200
But I'm sure that it will be taken at the time of our choosing, not the time of the United
00:24:34.440
Before they made the attacks, is he talking patient like, hey, we send the 12 missiles?
00:24:39.620
I think the 12 missiles were simply to save face in front of Iranian people.
00:24:44.360
And I think they knew that nobody was going to get killed.
00:24:46.580
Here's what I think they knew nobody was going to get killed.
00:24:48.440
Because the current administration in U.S. is ran by a man who is very proud.
00:24:55.920
Who in the history of U.S. has had a bigger ego than President Donald Trump?
00:24:59.980
Actually, think about who is more proud of his accomplishments.
00:25:06.100
If you actually think about it, maybe Lyndon Johnson?
00:25:17.260
Barack Obama, I'm so proud of what I've done, right?
00:25:20.720
And what happens with people that are very proud of their accomplishments?
00:25:23.200
Whether you put a Brady, Kobe, Jordan, any of these guys that were the best of the
00:25:26.700
best, in their eyes, what do you not do to them?
00:25:30.860
You don't publicly humiliate somebody with an ego.
00:25:33.480
And if you do, they are willing to go to measures that maybe others are not willing to go to.
00:25:40.200
That's why they didn't retaliate, but they just kind of shot the 12 missiles to places
00:25:45.680
But I also think the foreign minister says Iran is a patient nation, which means we got time.
00:25:54.040
Six months, 12 months, 24 months, post-Trump being gone.
00:25:57.660
Maybe when Jimmy Carter was presidency, Iran had the 52 hostages.
00:26:01.600
When Reagan was getting elected that day, here's your 52 hostages back because Reagan said,
00:26:05.640
we're going to retaliate and get those people back.
00:26:07.460
And Iran knew they would retaliate and they don't want to go to war with Reagan.
00:26:11.360
Maybe they don't want to go to war with Trump, but maybe they will go to war with the next
00:26:16.680
Maybe it's going to be a democratic president that doesn't want to go to war with them.
00:26:26.300
We have to make up for it and then blame somebody else and let it kind of slide.
00:26:29.980
They're not somebody that's going to forget about this.
00:26:34.060
Just listen to what his daughter said and what a lot of the leaders said.
00:26:37.840
Now, having said that, in U.S., there is one thing that hasn't happened in this entire
00:26:44.860
Neither U.S. nor Iran has touched the other nation's soil.
00:26:50.320
Meaning, U.S. hasn't done anything to Iran's soil.
00:27:02.940
So, if Iran was to do something to U.S. soil during Trump administration, how far do you
00:27:19.760
That he may go places that were as bad as some of the wars in the past.
00:27:25.400
That if you remember Japan, he can go places that maybe others don't want to go to.
00:27:30.860
Because he's got control at the top as a president.
00:27:33.780
This is going to be bad for everybody around the world.
00:27:43.560
But let me tell you why Iran definitely doesn't want to go right now.
00:27:45.260
Because the current conditions in Iran remind me of what happened in 1978.
00:28:12.900
If the current regime, Khomeini and the rest, don't want to see Iran go through another
00:28:19.320
revolution, if they don't figure out a way to become better with U.S., and they keep playing
00:28:27.320
And if they lose their people and there's a coup, Iranian people is in their blood.
00:28:32.300
If they wanted to do a coup, they could do a coup.
00:28:34.900
This is probably the best time to do a coup if you're Iranian people wanting to see the
00:28:39.340
And go back to more of a friendly environment where somebody like me can go and vacay, go
00:28:44.640
And other people, like back in the days when Elizabeth Taylor was dating Zahedi and, you
00:28:48.540
know, all these singers and performers, Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra would go to Iran and
00:28:53.840
You know, all these vacation rich people would go to Iran.
00:28:57.380
There are many people that would like to go back to those days of Kabbalah Tehran days.
00:29:00.580
But the current regime doesn't want it to go there.
00:29:04.040
If they push a little too hard, the Iranian people have a good memory.
00:29:10.500
Because if you touch my pocket, as a populist, I can't feed my kids.
00:29:16.220
I'm in shambles with fights because you want to make up the money of your loss with the
00:29:19.580
sanctions of Iran by raising the price of gas with me.
00:29:24.020
And we, the people, historically, has always won.
00:29:25.800
And if that happens, things could get very, very ugly.
00:29:31.220
