00:00:00.000 So this last week I've been pretty MIA because we do our annual leadership retreat with the company.
00:00:28.160 I've been doing this now for five years and I rent out a crazy place and this time around, I rented out the BCBG founders place.
00:00:36.320 That's a $1.2 million chandelier behind me.
00:00:38.400 Just look at some of the stuff this guy did.
00:00:40.780 Creative, what a creative guy.
00:00:42.660 Okay, this house is right now on sale.
00:00:45.160 That's the ceiling.
00:00:46.160 Can you imagine that?
00:00:47.160 That's the ceiling.
00:00:48.160 One of the rooms here, it's 17 bedrooms, 30 plus thousand square feet.
00:00:51.160 I'll show you what the back looks like.
00:00:53.660 But we come here every year and it's three and a half days of me speaking and strategizing with these guys for 12 straight hours.
00:01:07.660 Probably spoken, I don't know, 40 hours in the last three and a half days with these guys.
00:01:13.660 And there's something I did very different this time around, okay, when we had this session.
00:01:18.660 Usually we'll go through a lot of data.
00:01:20.660 A lot of data.
00:01:21.660 And we did.
00:01:22.660 We spent about five hours, six hours going through data.
00:01:24.660 And specific data.
00:01:25.660 Very, very detailed data.
00:01:26.660 Not just regular kind of data that we're talking about.
00:01:28.660 Very detailed data.
00:01:29.660 But the one thing I did this year is I changed it up.
00:01:34.660 I sat there.
00:01:36.660 And by the way, that's a spa back there.
00:01:37.660 He has a spa.
00:01:38.660 He has a nice little garden back there.
00:01:41.660 Tennis court back there.
00:01:42.660 Movie theater and office right over there.
00:01:44.660 His office is like 4,000 square feet.
00:01:46.660 Really nice property.
00:01:48.660 Very, very modern on the inside.
00:01:49.660 Secret spots.
00:01:50.660 Anyways, you know, we started off.
00:01:53.660 250 people are in the room at Beverly Hills Hilton.
00:01:59.660 And I started off by asking 29 questions that we went through.
00:02:06.660 Question after question after question after question after question.
00:02:09.660 I think by the time it was done, at least 30% of the room had been in tears at one point or another.
00:02:14.660 Why?
00:02:15.660 Because in order to recreate yourself, we're too often liking way too many quotes on Instagram.
00:02:25.660 Way too many quotes we like.
00:02:27.660 Where for me, a question makes you move more than a quote makes you move.
00:02:33.660 So, and it's the season anyways.
00:02:35.660 It's the season where you got a lot of people wanting to change.
00:02:37.660 A lot of people want next to you to be a big year for them.
00:02:40.660 You got a lot of people that want to make some big decisions for themselves.
00:02:43.660 And they want to go out there and do something they've never done before.
00:02:46.660 The beginning stages of all of that, it's with you, is with you asking the right questions of yourself.
00:02:53.660 So, after four hours of us going through these questions with everybody.
00:02:57.660 By the time it was over with.
00:02:59.660 Everybody's sitting there saying, oh my gosh.
00:03:01.660 You know, I never thought about it this way before.
00:03:03.660 And then there's breakthroughs.
00:03:05.660 And the last time when we have a party here with two, three hundred people.
00:03:07.660 We're catering, we got food, we got all this other stuff that's hanging out, having a conversation.
00:03:12.660 Erica, say hello.
00:03:13.660 Good morning.
00:03:14.660 Hello, hello.
00:03:15.660 We're having all these conversations with all these folks.
00:03:19.660 Breakthroughs are taking place.
00:03:20.660 When I asked the question, I said, so tell me, what's the biggest takeaway from the event?
00:03:24.660 You know what everybody said?
00:03:25.660 Those questions.
00:03:26.660 I said, why?
00:03:27.660 He says, because the questions got me to get into a state that I hadn't been in before.
00:03:33.660 It made me think about things.
00:03:35.660 Ask myself stuff I hadn't done before.
00:03:38.660 And took me to a complete different state.
00:03:40.660 So, whatever you got going on right now.
00:03:42.660 Whatever you got your goals for 2020 right now.
00:03:45.660 If you really want things to change for you.
00:03:47.660 If you really want things to change for you in 2020.
00:03:50.660 Start by asking the right questions.
00:03:54.660 One right question can change anybody's life.
00:04:00.660 When I tell you anybody's, I mean anybody's life.
00:04:03.660 One right question.
00:04:04.660 If a guy can live in a $78 million house in Beverly Hills.
00:04:09.660 And there's a ton of these around here.
00:04:12.660 It tells you at one point, he dreamt about the possibilities of him building a big business for himself.
00:04:21.660 And he had three tiers of products.
00:04:23.660 If a guy, you go look him up, the founder of BCBG.
00:04:27.660 If he built a $1.5 billion business.
00:04:30.660 And it started off with him having a vision, a dream.
00:04:35.660 It probably started off with him asking questions.
00:04:38.660 Why not me?
00:04:39.660 Why can't I do it?
00:04:41.660 Why can't my last name experience something like this?
00:04:45.660 And there was probably a time where he did it.
00:04:47.660 Well, guess what?
00:04:49.660 Here's how he probably did it.
00:04:51.660 Who's around me?
00:04:52.660 You see anybody around me?
00:04:55.660 Nobody's around me.
00:04:58.660 Listen.
00:04:59.660 Listen to the noise.
00:05:00.660 You see the reflection?
00:05:01.660 What do you hear?
00:05:03.660 A pump?
00:05:06.660 Do you hear anybody?
00:05:08.660 No.
00:05:09.660 I guarantee you.
00:05:11.660 All of these guys that do something big by themselves.
00:05:14.660 Big with themselves in their lives.
00:05:16.660 At one point were by themselves.
00:05:19.660 Asking themselves defining moment type of questions.
00:05:23.660 That change their lives.
00:05:26.660 You may be by yourself right now.
00:05:29.660 Maybe it's time for you to kind of step away from everybody.
00:05:32.660 And start asking the right questions.
00:05:34.660 Of yourself.
00:05:36.660 In order for you to give birth to a new identity.
00:05:39.660 That the world's gonna look at you.
00:05:41.660 And say, I don't recognize the new you.
00:05:43.660 But it will start with you asking the right questions.
