00:00:00.000 Scott Besson at a New York Times event, himself and Alex Karp from Palantir and Halle Berry.
00:00:08.560 But let's first start off with Scott Besson.
00:00:10.480 Scott Besson is being interviewed, and they're talking about a bunch of different things.
00:00:14.120 And then all of a sudden, he blasts New York Times at their own event over the coverage of Trump's health.
00:00:22.240 Go ahead, Rob.
00:00:22.840 You had what was one of the greatest scandals of all time, that the coverage of the Biden administration, Joe Biden's diminished capacity, and the cover-up.
00:00:34.960 And that's why it's probably fair to raise these questions.
00:00:37.200 Where was the New York Times?
00:00:38.480 We just had a three-hour cabinet meeting yesterday, Andrew.
00:00:41.640 For 10 months, the Biden administration did not have a cabinet meeting.
00:00:46.260 How are you going to invoke the 25th Amendment if the cabinet secretaries never see the president, which they didn't?
00:00:54.080 10 months.
00:00:54.620 And by the way, Rob, that's not even the best clip.
00:00:57.280 The clip is when he talks about, I mean, you can find another clip that he calls him out, because there's a couple clips with him in New York Times.
00:01:05.300 He just goes, boom, left, right.
00:01:07.220 And that's a fact, 10 months?
00:01:08.680 10 months. 0.72
00:01:09.240 They didn't have a freaking cabinet meeting?
00:01:11.140 Yeah. 1.00
00:01:11.300 Holy crap. 0.98
00:01:12.040 And to the point that even he doesn't have anything to say. 0.93
00:01:14.600 Tom, what was your reaction when you first saw this here with Besson?
00:01:17.640 Is this the one, Rob, that's a longer version of it?
00:01:19.480 That's a little bit of a shorter one.
00:01:21.180 Hang on.
00:01:21.680 Okay.
00:01:21.960 You keep looking at it.
00:01:23.060 I think there's one other clip there.
00:01:24.200 This is 134.
00:01:25.180 Okay.
00:01:25.780 Let's just see this one here.
00:01:27.700 Is this a new normal?
00:01:29.520 Andrew, there's no new normal.
00:01:31.200 And I can tell you that I actually don't read the New York Times anymore.
00:01:36.880 That sometimes, I do watch CNBC, but occasionally people send me articles, and there's just this fever swamp.
00:01:46.640 And you're now a pop historian with 1929.
00:01:50.240 There you go.
00:01:50.720 And in 20, 30, 40, 50 years, the New York Times is no longer the paper of record.
00:01:57.440 You can't go.
00:01:59.260 I read this article.
00:02:00.600 That's the clip.
00:02:01.160 President Trump is slowing down.
00:02:02.540 That's the clip.
00:02:03.340 President Trump's mineral capacity.
00:02:04.680 It is 100% fake.
00:02:07.100 That, like, he only called me twice at 2 in the morning last week instead of three times.
00:02:13.400 You're saying he called you?
00:02:14.100 I believe that he called you at 2 or 3 in the morning.
00:02:15.860 That whole narrative, you had what was the greatest, one of the greatest scandals.
00:02:21.000 There you go.
00:02:21.100 So we watched this here.
00:02:21.960 Tom, go ahead.
00:02:22.820 Well, what I think it just shows how prepared and the leadership of Scott Besson.
00:02:27.480 I'm just a big fan of Scott Besson.
00:02:28.700 I love him.
00:02:28.940 I am a big fan of Scott Besson.
00:02:30.520 I love his leadership.
00:02:31.260 I love the policy positions he's taken very much.
00:02:35.020 And what he does here is deal book as part of the L.A. Times, excuse me, L.A. Times, New York Times.
00:02:40.380 I've got to get my liberal fish wrap straight.
00:02:43.000 So he does this, and he tries to put these things out there, and he's just leading with his chin, unfortunately.
00:02:50.580 Andrew Ross Sorkin, in the mornings on CNBC, he's kind of the liberal voice that's there, and he gets pushed a lot on there.
00:02:56.320 But he's a knowledgeable guy and everything.
00:02:58.640 And then here he goes trying to put these common things up there in kind of not really a debate format, but in kind of a counter format.
00:03:06.340 And Scott Besson just says, you're going to throw an 80-mile-an-hour fastball at me.
00:03:10.680 There's a word for 85-mile-an-hour fastballs, souvenirs, because he's going to hit that.
00:03:15.520 And that's exactly what Scott Besson did.
00:03:16.780 And he hit it, and I very much liked it.
00:03:19.580 And it was a big day for people taking a stand and making statements that were a little embarrassing.
00:03:25.240 This was supposed to be a business conference talking about how politics and, you know, treasury policy, rates and everything, meet business.
00:03:33.180 And he had a lot of people on stage there, and it turned out that, you know, Andrew Ross Sorkin got slapped a couple times.
00:03:38.520 And by the way, I'm a fan of him.
00:03:40.700 I like him in the morning.
00:03:41.840 I think he's good at what he does, and I applaud New York Times for inviting the people that they did.
00:03:48.840 They invited Erica Kirk.
00:03:50.600 They invited Scott Besson.
00:03:52.260 They invited.
00:03:53.160 So good for them for doing that. 1.00
