Valuetainment - ＂Murdered By His Own Son＂ - Rob Reiner's Death ROCKS Hollywood In SHOCKING Killing

00:00:00.000 We get the story.

00:00:00.940 All of us saw this yesterday, as if the weekend wasn't already crazy and tragic enough.

00:00:05.580 All of a sudden, you see the story.

00:00:07.800 In Rob Reiner's house, a 78-year-old man and a 68-year-old woman are found dead.

00:00:14.760 What do you mean?

00:00:15.600 How come you don't say it's them?

00:00:17.100 That's the first reporting where everybody's like, what are they talking about?

00:00:20.100 Rob is 78.

00:00:21.080 His wife, Michelle, I believe, is 68.

00:00:23.720 Yes.

00:00:24.020 No, no, no, no, no, no, no.

00:00:25.260 So, oh, it is them.

00:00:27.660 They were the one.

00:00:28.220 How?

00:00:29.580 Knife.

00:00:30.460 How?

00:00:31.000 Who?

00:00:31.620 Robbery homicide showed up.

00:00:33.000 Robbery homicide.

00:00:33.740 And it's like, no, their son, Nick.

00:00:36.860 Why?

00:00:38.100 Yeah, but the daughter went in and then called the cops and go find my brother. 1.00

00:00:41.420 Why the brother?

00:00:42.960 Well, he was a homeless. 0.82

00:00:44.000 You know, he was a drug abuser.

00:00:45.160 And they even did a documentary or whatever show that they did.

00:00:48.540 And wait a minute.

00:00:49.940 What are we talking about with all this stuff?

00:00:52.020 This is Rob Reiner, who was extremely critical of Trump, but the day Charlie Kirk died.

00:00:58.580 He was actually very, what do you call it, respectful about the whole of what happened.

00:01:05.080 And even though politically, he cannot stand what Charlie's all about.

00:01:08.240 This is Rob Reiner.

00:01:08.920 If you want to play this clip with him and Piers Morgan.

00:01:12.320 Go ahead, Rob.

00:01:13.100 You've heard about the murder of Charlie Kirk.

00:01:16.660 What was your immediate gut reaction to it?

00:01:20.660 Well, horror.

00:01:22.800 Absolute horror.

00:01:23.720 And I unfortunately saw the video of it and it's beyond belief what happened to him.

00:01:35.680 And that should never happen to anybody.

00:01:38.340 I don't care what your political beliefs are.

00:01:40.620 That's not acceptable.

00:01:42.460 That's not a solution to solving problems.

00:01:46.860 And I felt like what his wife said at the service, at the memorial they had, was exactly right.

00:01:55.760 And totally, I believe, you know, I'm Jewish, but I believe in the teachings of Jesus.

00:02:01.760 And I believe in doing to others.

00:02:04.320 And I believe in forgiveness.

00:02:05.560 And what she said to me was beautiful.

00:02:10.860 And absolutely, you know, she forgave his assassin.

00:02:17.700 So, Tom, thoughts on this story?

00:02:20.440 Well, when you hear, you know, Rob Reiner say that in an interview with Pierce, you say to yourself that below, and he had a lot of anger.

00:02:28.840 You see his tweets.

00:02:29.700 Some of his tweets were really intense.

00:02:31.780 But you see that underneath it, there's a human being.

00:02:34.300 And there's a human being that's speaking in very measured terms.

00:02:39.000 And you can hear his voice.

00:02:40.680 I don't think he's posturing there.

00:02:42.140 By the way, breaking news.

00:02:43.100 I don't mean to interrupt.

00:02:44.560 As of one hour ago, the son is officially arrested.

00:02:48.380 Okay?

00:02:48.920 So, the son, as of one hour ago.

00:02:50.940 Rob Reiner's son.

00:02:51.440 Which is bail patting.

00:02:53.340 It's like $4 million.

00:02:54.640 Yeah, Rob just sent this to me.

00:02:56.000 Rob Reiner's son was just arrested.

00:02:59.560 There it is.

00:03:00.040 32 years old.

00:03:01.780 Held at Parker Central Jail in downtown L.A.

00:03:04.580 With his bail set at $4 million.

00:03:07.180 A rep for the L.A. County reported.

00:03:10.900 Rep did not immediately respond to the questionnaire, but that's what was said.

00:03:15.720 And allegedly, he slit their throats, and they had multiple stab wounds on top of that.

00:03:20.240 So, it was bad.

00:03:23.360 It was really bad. 0.93

00:03:23.580 Having their throats slit during a heated argument with a family member.

00:03:26.580 The duo were declared dead at the scene over the weekend.

00:03:29.440 Nick is being...

00:03:32.560 What?

00:03:34.900 78 and 16.

00:03:35.880 Nick and Romy, they also survived son Jake, as well as Rob's daughter, Tracy, from a previous marriage.

00:03:41.000 The couple's heartbroken.

00:03:42.960 Family members issued a touching statement in the wake of the sudden loss.

00:03:47.180 Wow.

00:03:47.760 Posted a picture of the entire family.

00:03:49.360 Oh, my goodness.

00:03:51.100 That is...

00:03:52.000 Tom, please continue.

00:03:55.140 This shows the importance of parenting, the importance of getting help for your kids when they're out there on the edge.

00:04:03.100 But for Rob, it was very, I thought, very appropriate the way he reacted when he talked to Pierce.

00:04:17.720 And I saw a human under there, underneath the angst and everything that he would show on Twitter and his opinions in very, very volatile times, aren't we all?

00:04:26.500 He was very, very measured, and I appreciated that.

00:04:29.860 And when I read this, I read about a family that's got a troubled kid.

00:04:33.840 And a troubled kid that struggled with mental illness.

00:04:38.360 And parts of the report coming out, and I hope these are correct, because we're repeating things that have been posted by a variety of usually reputable celebrity magazines,

00:04:50.120 that he was homeless, he was struggling emotionally, he had struggled with drugs,

00:04:55.440 and that the family did not reach out to rescue him by giving him money that would just, you know, continue it.

00:05:02.580 They were hoping he would get into treatment, and ultimately comes home, and there's some volatile argument here that leads to the most horrific—

00:05:11.300 I mean, I haven't read anything this horrific since the Menendez brothers killed their parents.

00:05:17.740 I mean, this is just horrifying.

00:05:20.620 That's how I feel about it.

00:05:21.840 If you've got kids, and you've got kids who are on the edge, you've got to get clergy, you've got to get a faith foundation,

00:05:26.660 you've got to get people in the room with you, because this is where it can end.

00:05:32.580 And this is just horrifying.

00:05:34.720 The president just tweeted a couple thoughts here, and to his same old way that the president has always been,

00:05:43.120 he didn't hold back, and he went straight to it.

00:05:45.760 Can I take a wild guess?

00:05:46.660 He did give his—

00:05:47.280 He loves him, and then he craps all over him?

00:05:49.180 Yeah, you should read this.

00:05:50.300 Okay, so a very sad thing happened last night in Hollywood.

00:05:53.320 Rob Reiner tortured and struggled him, but once a very talented movie director and comedy star has passed away together with his wife Michelle,

00:05:59.900 reportedly due to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction

00:06:06.080 with a mind-crippling disease known as the Trump Derangement Syndrome, sometimes referred to as TDS.

00:06:11.520 He was known to have driven people crazy by his raging obsession of Donald J. Trump,

00:06:16.420 with his obvious paranoia reaching new heights as Trump administration surpassed all goals and expectations of greatness,

00:06:22.240 and with the golden age of America upon us, perhaps like never before.

00:06:25.720 May Rob and Michelle rest in peace.

00:06:27.420 Not a fan of that.

00:06:28.760 I'm going to say that right now.

00:06:30.580 There's a better way to do that.

00:06:32.960 I remember speaking to Charlie Kirk at the memorial when he went on stage and said,

00:06:37.080 Charlie's cool with his enemies.

00:06:38.500 I'm not.

00:06:39.440 I'm not.

00:06:40.720 Meaning, Rob Reiner has called him a fascist, a Hitler. 0.92

00:06:44.100 Okay, the guy is dead, murdered by his son, slid him and his wife's throw over an argument during the holidays. 0.52

00:06:52.980 I do not like that at all.

00:06:55.060 Let me just say that.

00:06:56.580 In regard to Rob Reiner, God rest his soul, that guy gave me and my family so many moments of,

00:07:03.960 Pat, stand by me.

00:07:06.140 The spinal tap.

00:07:07.840 A few good men.

00:07:09.320 When Harry met Sally.

00:07:10.940 Misery.

00:07:11.460 If you really think about this guy's work, and he was one of the guys that I said years ago,

00:07:16.840 if I ever met him, because I saw him once passing in Hollywood,

00:07:20.100 I was going to say thank you.

00:07:22.060 Because of his brilliance, he gave us moments where I was in a household where my father drank,

00:07:26.620 and it was always pandemonium and crazy and yelling and arguing and drinking.

00:07:31.380 He gave me moments where we would sit and watch Stand By Me.

00:07:34.240 We would sit there and watch these movies, and it was an escape.

00:07:36.960 Stand By Me and a few good men are going down in the top 50.

00:07:43.840 So I want to say God rest his soul, and I want to thank him wherever he is in heaven

00:07:47.140 for giving me those moments where I got to unplug and not deal with the drama of our life.

00:07:53.860 And I want to say God rest his soul.

00:07:56.240 Adam.

00:07:56.400 So I've actually dealt with a situation like this before, which is crazy.

00:08:02.760 I had a very good friend, and there was a brother and a sister,

00:08:07.180 and the brother had a massive, massive, massive drug problem,

00:08:11.440 and they were trying to help the guy, and they were accommodating him,

00:08:18.080 and eventually, in a fit of rage, wanting money and drugs, and the mother wouldn't help him,

00:08:25.000 he took a baseball bat and murdered his mom.

00:08:29.060 Jeez. 0.89

00:08:29.920 Straight up.

00:08:31.120 This was in Miami.

00:08:32.180 You told me this story once.

00:08:33.080 Yeah.

00:08:33.440 Yeah.

00:08:34.160 And obviously, just the most tragic, disgusting thing you can think about,

00:08:41.360 but it goes further.

00:08:43.320 It's like, all right, so he's still in jail.

00:08:46.160 What does he think about every single day? 0.68

00:08:47.940 I murdered my mom with a baseball bat.

00:08:50.340 His sister, who I was friends with back in the day, she has kids.

00:08:54.700 What does she say to her kids? 0.93

00:08:57.260 You know?

00:08:57.680 Not to bring Charlie Kirk or Erica Kirk in there.

00:09:00.300 What does Erica Kirk say to her kids? 0.96

00:09:02.560 So, you know, a theme of the show today is this suicidal empathy and being too tolerant.

00:09:11.060 I don't know what happened with Rob Reiner.

00:09:12.480 I'm not questioning his life at this point, but at some point, you know,

00:09:17.220 this suicidal empathy turned into homicidal empathy,

00:09:20.660 and the kid that he brought into the world took him and his wife out.

00:09:29.200 So the son murdered his parents on some Menendez-type stuff?

00:09:34.280 Allegedly.

00:09:34.720 Over an argument.

00:09:35.220 Over an argument.

00:09:36.100 Allegedly.

00:09:36.640 He's been charged with them.

00:09:37.600 And he's been a drug addict and homeless and the whole deal.

00:09:40.440 And I'm not blaming the parents, but at what point, like,

00:09:43.540 did you allow this kid to get this bat?

00:09:45.480 Well, a lot of drugs do, like, I don't know what he was on at the moment.

00:09:49.120 We're not, we have to find out a bunch of stuff with all the,

00:09:51.260 they're probably going to drug test them and all that stuff, 0.51

00:09:53.060 but drugs will ruin whatever he was on your brain and make you crazy.

00:09:57.600 Maybe he was asking for money or something.

00:09:59.460 And then in the heat of the moment, who knows?

00:10:01.860 In and out of rehab since 15th birthday.

00:10:04.340 This is an article that people did with him in 2016 where Nick Reiner talks about

00:10:09.300 being homeless and living on the streets of L.A.,

00:10:11.540 but also being taken to his first rehab facility around his 15th birthday.

00:10:15.500 That's it.

00:10:15.920 That's wild.

00:10:16.800 Horrible.

00:10:17.220 You know what that means?

00:10:17.820 You've been going at it for a couple of years.

00:10:19.700 Yeah, I mean, that's, unfortunately, this is par for the course in Hollywood.

00:10:23.360 I don't know if you remember this, PBD, when we were at Mar-a-Lago maybe two months ago,

00:10:27.660 you were filming for that movie.

00:10:30.100 Yeah.

00:10:30.260 You were sitting there.

00:10:30.920 Yeah.

00:10:31.480 And then we ended up talking to the director afterwards.

00:10:33.440 And I want to say he was friends or business partners with Rob Reiner.

00:10:37.880 And he was basically saying, what a great guy, but just completely has TDS.

00:10:42.520 And there's no coming back from it.

00:10:44.660 That's a separate note from what happened to him, tragedy.

00:10:48.160 But when it comes to Hollywood, when it comes to movies, he's one of the few good men

00:10:54.020 that's made some of the greatest movies of our generation.

00:10:56.680 And rest in peace.

00:10:57.720 It's absolute tragedy what happened to the guy.

00:11:00.140 Yeah.

00:11:00.440 There's no question about it.

00:11:01.660 You hear stories like this.

00:11:02.860 You're thinking you're, like I said, this weekend was three movies, four movies.

00:11:07.540 Like, it was a fictional weekend.

00:11:10.420 Like, it didn't feel like it's a real thing happening.

00:11:14.940 It was a fictional weekend where, you know, go to some, yeah, it's probably out of a movie

00:11:19.820 you watch.

00:11:20.900 Yeah.

00:11:21.100 So, you know, that's a pretty bad movie. 0.75

00:11:23.120 That sucks for some.

00:11:23.940 No, no, these are all true stories of what happened this weekend. 0.88

00:11:26.720 With that being said, guys, exciting news here on what happened.

00:11:30.340 I got a report this morning.

00:11:31.420 Let me tell you what this report is.

00:11:33.180 Do you not got the report this morning because of Christmas shopping?

00:11:35.480 We've been doing a lot of Christmas shopping ourselves.

00:11:37.480 My son's got the longest Christmas shopping list he's ever had.

00:11:41.760 Dylan?

00:11:42.060 Oh, my God.

00:11:42.880 And by the way, so many of the items are old dinosaur, what do you call it?

00:11:48.040 Legos.

00:11:48.100 He's all into dinosaur.

00:11:49.200 Dinosaur Legos that we got to go try to find.

00:11:51.880 Oh, my God.

00:11:52.400 We got to go find.

00:11:53.060 We got to tell Santa to go find.

00:11:54.240 Of course.

00:11:54.680 And he's been doing a lot of stuff.

00:11:55.580 So, Christmas shopping.

00:11:57.280 You know what this is?

00:11:58.540 Since the vault till today, I've only not worn these three days.

00:12:03.500 Every day I've worn these.

00:12:04.660 And you know why this is a special week?

00:12:06.160 Because the white and the Navy are officially here being shipped out this week.

00:12:11.580 They're being shipped out this week.

00:12:13.440 So, I want to give you a report that I got this morning on how many countries have ordered these shoes.

00:12:21.460 You ready?

00:12:22.340 In order, okay, of orders.

00:12:24.880 Of who's ordered the most.

00:12:26.000 Obviously, U.S. is number one.

00:12:27.800 Number two is Canada.

00:12:28.840 Surprisingly, Canada's number two.

00:12:30.560 I have to look to see if Pierre won it or not because I don't know if he believes he looks right.

00:12:33.900 I hope he did.

00:12:34.420 But Australia, 23.

00:12:36.940 Interesting.

00:12:37.760 Australia's diehard fans of the podcast, by the way.

00:12:40.420 Australia, 3X UK.

00:12:43.020 Okay? 1.00

00:12:43.400 Damn. 1.00

00:12:43.820 Then you got Slovenia. 1.00

00:12:44.920 Then you got UAE. 0.88

00:12:46.720 UAE makes it in the top six of people wearing the shoe.

00:12:49.800 Do you know who's next?

00:12:50.900 Saudi Arabia.

00:12:52.400 Then it's Malaysia, Poland, Croatia, Bulgaria.

00:12:55.460 Then it's Switzerland, Ireland, Czech, Oman, Norway.

00:12:58.480 And guess who's last?

00:12:59.320 Oman.

00:12:59.840 Little old Oman. 0.64

00:13:00.680 Israel is last. 1.00

00:13:01.500 They did buy though, but they're last.

00:13:04.500 But they get a good discount, yes.

00:13:06.500 No, no discount for the shoes.

00:13:07.740 But guess what?

00:13:08.700 To everybody that's watching this, I love the amount of people that are ordering the shoes.

00:13:12.280 Some interesting people are ordering their shoes and wearing them.

00:13:14.560 I'm in love with them.

00:13:15.580 But for Christmas, folks, Rob, if you can go on a VT merch, I want to show you guys a shirt for Christmas,

00:13:19.900 especially those of you guys that watch it.

00:13:21.520 Whatever you do, stay up a little bit, Rob.

00:13:23.940 Get yours.

00:13:24.520 You're going to fall in love with these Christmas hats.

00:13:26.280 I'm personally giving these Christmas hats away as gifts to some of the folks that I have.

00:13:31.640 These may be the sickest red Christmas hats in the world ever, especially at a time that

00:13:36.960 some people are playing the game, Christmas, what it's all about, celebrating it.

00:13:43.100 Whether it's the green, this is a hot item.

00:13:45.440 Buy five, buy 10, buy 20.

00:13:47.320 Gift them to others.

00:13:48.460 You will not be disappointed.

00:13:49.640 On the right, it says Future Looks Bright.

00:13:51.240 But on the side, it says VTN.

00:13:52.820 When you flip it, I don't even know if it shows the bottom.

00:13:54.620 Future Looks Bright. 0.93

00:13:55.380 It's a sick hat, Rob.

00:13:56.320 If you can go back.

00:13:57.020 Sold out last year.

00:13:57.480 Yeah, I know it did.

00:13:58.280 But we got a few left.

00:13:59.360 If you go back to that page, go a little bit lower.

00:14:02.540 I want to show you that shirt.

00:14:03.720 Do you see that shirt right there?

00:14:04.720 Those of you guys are the one to the left.
