Valuetainment - “Oil Up 35% In DAYS” - Hormuz Crisis Sends Crude Prices EXPLODING Toward $100

00:00:00.000 getting ready for a game means being ready for anything like packing a spare stick i like to

00:00:09.580 be prepared that's why i remember 988 canada's suicide crisis helpline it's good to know just

00:00:15.760 in case anyone can call or text for free confidential support from a trained responder

00:00:20.540 anytime 988 suicide crisis helpline is funded by the government in canada

00:00:25.520 straight up hormones by the way gas prices rob if you want to go to oil prices

00:00:30.600 the one that tom sent early this morning here's what it's looking like the latest

00:00:36.140 five days oil prices crude oil prices are up 55 45 percent one month 60 percent where is it right

00:00:45.540 now rob if you can go look at prices right now what are prices looking like right now

00:00:50.740 crude oil if we can look up uh west texas intermediate 97 50 just under 100 okay 97 50

00:00:58.400 99 8 is where we are and by the way this is all caused because of strait of hormuz and it leads

00:01:04.640 to this story uh drone strike torches oil tanker in strait of hormuz as iran's blockade

00:01:11.580 halts global shipping and uh you know some are saying it could get higher much higher

00:01:19.140 uh the numbers let me read this to you a commercial oil tank was set ablaze in the

00:01:25.940 state of Hormuz after it was struck by an Iranian suicide drone the country's Islamic

00:01:29.840 Revolutionary Guard Corps set Saturday with a U.S. Navy mission to safeguard ships through the region

00:01:34.720 possibly still weeks away the IRGC claimed the tanker the Prima Salen under a Maltese flag

00:01:41.380 had ignored repeated warnings not to enter the strait.

00:01:43.880 According to Sanim Tasneem, a news agency, Iran's news media,

00:01:49.780 the flow of oil through strait, one of the world's most vital energy.

00:01:53.240 We already know the numbers.

00:01:54.300 We've talked about that.

00:01:55.520 As a result, the U.S. oil prices shot up $20 a barrel in a week.

00:01:59.060 Now it's $30, $40 a barrel.

00:02:00.700 Tom, what does this mean, and do you see it going any higher?

00:02:04.440 If yes, how much higher?

00:02:06.800 Well, this is getting a little nervous on an international scale

00:02:10.680 because this is taking time, and the longer time it takes,

00:02:14.840 the longer the straits are closed, the more you're going to have supply issues,

00:02:19.180 and supply issues drives price, and then fear drives price.

00:02:23.900 Can we go ahead and talk about the island?

00:02:27.040 Go for it, yes.

00:02:27.780 Yeah, so Kaharg Island, if I'm pronouncing this correctly,

00:02:30.900 there's a picture of it right there, and you can see the satellite picture there.

00:02:33.980 Zoom in a bit, Rob.

00:02:34.960 The only thing that's on this island is a little square.

00:02:37.720 You see on this on the right on the edges there, the island, you see those those lateral ports.

00:02:44.040 That's where giant tankers fuel. And then look what's on the island.

00:02:47.300 Tons and tons and tons of tanks, not military tanks, big round oil storage tanks.

00:02:53.400 This island has got tremendous pipelines that go under the sea.

00:02:57.940 And it is the island that refuels.

00:03:00.720 refuels, get this, as Pat said at the beginning, 90% of the exports from Iran go on that island.

00:03:08.360 If you were to hit this island and disable it, you will absolutely disable Iran's export 1.00

00:03:17.200 capabilities, number one. But number two, you're going to cause world oil prices to go up. Now,

00:03:25.020 some speculators in the U.S. aren't upset by this, Pat. They look at it this way.

00:03:30.120 In the oil industry, Vinny, if you and I were drilling oil in Permian Basin, West Texas Intermediate, now we're selling oil at $100.

00:03:39.620 A couple weeks ago, we were selling it at $68.50.

00:03:42.620 So one half of the energy infrastructure is not terribly upset.

00:03:47.740 These are the drillers and exporters of other regions.

00:03:51.040 The people that are going to be upset is the European economy and then specifically China.

00:03:56.560 The boots on the ground, there is speculation.

00:03:59.520 There is an article came out this morning that they said U.S. special forces rumored to be preparing to assault and take this island.

00:04:11.040 If we, there it is, U.S. that was, and here's three hours ago, U.S. weighs special forces taking Gaharg Island.

00:04:20.160 This would mean that the U.S. would occupy and control 90% of Iran's exports.

00:04:26.760 This is huge.

00:04:27.480 This either brings them to their knees, Pat, and we can get some sort of a treaty.

00:04:31.200 As I said, I don't think it's going to be an unconditional surrender.

00:04:34.220 But this is huge.

00:04:35.940 The oil prices are up on demand and speculation and fear and uncertainty.

00:04:40.540 And then you've got U.S. special forces sinking here.

00:04:43.740 Just this headline, Pat, I think is good for $10 this morning.

00:04:49.680 Because if you think about that, what happens if U.S. special forces occupy that island?

00:04:55.560 It means, okay, you're not exporting anything.

00:04:58.240 We're going to control your exports.

00:05:00.280 And by getting the Navy, this is the one area that we have a defense expert that we spoke to this morning.

00:05:07.020 They have fast boats with specialized missiles that are on the back that defend this island because it's pretty close to Iran's coast.

00:05:15.340 So it is well defended, and it's up all the way up at the top of the Persian Gulf.

00:05:21.440 So the price of oil and all this, this is getting a little hairy, Pat.

00:05:25.560 I don't think this is going to affect America that much. And I'll tell you why. We don't get our oil from this region. I don't think this is where a region that we care all too much about from an American standpoint. Obviously, I think we're more in the Don Roe doctrine. I think Panama is a bigger deal. I think Greenland is a bigger deal. Look, there's always going to be flashpoints that come up.

00:05:46.340 tom brings up a good point with china i did some research on where china gets their oil and you

00:05:52.060 think oh china and iran they're in cahoots together i don't think china cares that much 0.94

00:05:57.440 about iran to be honest with you and i'll tell you why do you know the number of barrels of oil that

00:06:04.180 china gets from iran you think oh my god iran's selling all their oil to china but that's not

00:06:09.480 where china is getting their oil from they're actually number eight on the total list i don't

00:06:14.540 know if you knew that so china gets most of their oil from saudi after saudi to get their most oil

00:06:20.000 from russia then iraq then angola of all places then the uae then malaysia and then boom boom boom

00:06:27.540 down on the list is iran so china and iran don't have that tight of a relationship i think the real

00:06:33.620 relationship we got to look at is iran and russia now there's stories that russia is sort of helping

00:06:39.420 iran spy and obviously there's a drone situation there but china for the most part i know we're

00:06:45.160 talking about straight of hormuz i i think they're just my point is this i think they're gonna be

00:06:49.200 like hey ron listen guy you're screwing up all our other business with saudi with iraq with the uae

00:06:57.380 if you want us to help you at all you open up the straight of hormuz okay guy ni hao and then hangs

00:07:03.460 up i don't think they're that close with iran my opinion you agree well 10 what happens if we woke

00:07:09.960 up this morning and the s&p and the dow dropped 10 that's huge 10 to 12 of their oil and they

00:07:18.160 can't get it through the straight china right now i mean it's it's not you just pick up the phone

00:07:23.400 and say oh i i can't get uh okay well you know that restaurant closed i'll just call doordash

00:07:29.600 get the other one down the street it's not that simple so let's have let's have the conversation

00:07:33.940 i'm china you're iran ready hey buddy uh you messing up my straighter homos bigger time 1.00

00:07:42.120 open it up what do you say that conversation i think is happening but china doesn't worry about 0.97

00:07:47.360 it they're just going to get oil from somewhere else no but you're but you're iran we're playing

00:07:51.880 a role play i'm china i'm upset you closed this trade-off her moves you're iran open it up right

00:07:56.320 now buddy what do you say i'm busy tell the u.s to stop bombing me well you're gonna be way busier

00:08:02.780 big trade you're gonna be way busier if you don't if you don't want our help hey hey big brother

00:08:07.620 you're doing big trade with the u.s i need them to knock it off i need them to back out of this

00:08:12.800 and i'm not going to give them an unconditional surrender i'm busy so you think that iran's going

00:08:17.760 to talk tough to china that's basically that's fact fact as you probably notice i'm getting 0.93

00:08:24.020 bombed on four sides and my navy's been

00:08:26.040 sunk. I really appreciate what

00:08:28.040 you're saying here, but I need some help. You want to help me?

00:08:30.180 I get that you're busy, but if you want our help,

00:08:32.040 you keep the Strait of Hormuz open,

00:08:33.580 because we get our oil from 90%

00:08:35.680 from other countries in the region. Hey, G, all you got to do me, give me

00:08:37.880 advanced planes. Give me advanced armaments.

00:08:39.960 I know. Give it help. Well, let me read you what

00:08:41.960 Daily Caller says, okay? U.S. economy

00:08:44.100 could be in dire strait as Hormuz slams shut.

00:08:47.080 Brent crude oil,

00:08:48.140 they're talking about the prices, how much it's up.

00:08:50.020 Now it's 35%. At the time, it was 25%.

00:08:52.480 Despite the U.S.-backed war risk insurance that President Trump offered all maritime operations in the Strait of Hormuz,

00:08:58.300 traffic remains down 90% since Iranian retaliatory strikes began.

00:09:04.080 Refinery have no way to ship their oil, and some are halting extraction at storage facilities at capacity.

00:09:10.520 We know how much U.S. oils have been hit.

00:09:11.960 A sustained 25-cent-per-gas prices inflation by about 25 percentage points, according to the Federal Reserve.

00:09:19.660 If the Strait of Hormuz is reopened and oil exports resumed, prices could return to pre-war levels.

00:09:25.720 Very large crude oil carriers, ships capable of carrying roughly 2 million barrels of oil,

00:09:32.520 saw their daily rental prices skyrocket from $206,000 to over $480,000 since markets opened on Monday.

00:09:40.480 The rate doubling results from continued war risk insurance issued

00:09:44.220 and death of vessels willing to brave the increasingly dangerous strait.

00:09:49.620 I mean, that's a real threat right there.

00:09:51.620 It is.

00:09:52.220 And, Rob, here's the math, Pat.

00:09:53.980 This is very good.

00:09:55.200 Rob, will you roll back up the article a little bit?

00:09:57.940 Stop.

00:09:58.820 U.S. gas prices move in tandem with Brent crude.

00:10:01.800 For every $10 increase in crude, U.S. gas prices rise 24 cents a gallon.

00:10:09.040 So a 40, a sustained, takes about a month, a $40 increase in crude, and we've seen that.

00:10:16.900 We've gone from 67 now to, you know, 100.

00:10:20.000 So just under that, that's $1 a gallon at the pump within 30 days, Pat.

00:10:24.500 You see that?

00:10:25.580 24 cents for every $10 increase in crude.

00:10:28.460 So it's going to be $1 a gallon if this sustains for another three weeks.

00:10:36.040 What's the famous phrase that you've been saying for the past two hours?

00:10:40.680 Short-term pain for long-term gain.

00:10:42.840 Say it again now with me, brother.

00:10:44.120 Short-term pain for long-term gain.

00:10:46.040 Now make it rhyme again.

00:10:47.240 Short-term pain, long-term gain.

00:10:48.920 This is what happens.

00:10:50.200 Well, this is the talking point now that everybody on the Republic,

00:10:52.920 we always call out one side.

00:10:54.080 You got to call out our side as well.

00:10:55.900 The talking point was short-term pain for long-term gain

00:10:59.620 with what's happening right now, and it's in unison.

00:11:02.180 Rob, can you please play this?

00:11:03.080 It actually makes me laugh.

00:11:04.380 Disruption for the long-term gain.

00:11:06.660 Short-term pain for the long-term gain.

00:11:09.940 Short-term pain be for long-term gain.

00:11:11.680 We're going to have some short-term pain with long-term gain.

00:11:14.900 Short-term pay for a long-term gain.

00:11:18.240 Some short-term pain, yes, but we've got some long-term gain.

00:11:21.180 Short-term spike for a long-term gain.

00:11:23.800 Some short-term pain for American consumers.

00:11:26.360 We may have to deal with that in the short-term.

00:11:28.600 Short-term and temporary.

00:11:30.440 Temporary short-term pain.

00:11:32.140 It's going to suck in the short-term.

00:11:33.240 Some short-term pain. 0.93

00:11:34.600 Short-term pain.

00:11:35.820 We have to focus on short-term.

00:11:36.500 Even in English, English accent.

00:11:37.900 Short-term.

00:11:38.500 Short-term.

00:11:39.180 Short-term.

00:11:39.780 Short-term and long-term.

00:11:40.880 Short-term.

00:11:42.520 Even CNN is saying it.

00:11:43.880 All of them.

00:11:44.660 So everybody's lock and step.

00:11:46.320 We'll see how short it's going to be.

00:11:48.100 But the pain's there.

00:11:49.440 The pain's going to be there.

00:11:49.860 Just because it's a talking point doesn't mean it's true.

00:11:52.000 It's like, I put it like this.

00:11:53.180 It doesn't mean it's wrong.

00:11:54.520 It doesn't mean it's not wrong. 1.00

00:11:55.540 Sorry.

00:11:55.880 So just because they're saying it's a talking point doesn't mean it's wrong.

00:11:58.780 They're saying that because it actually has validity.

00:12:01.820 You know, you compare this to ripping out cancer.

00:12:05.580 You know, I had a very close person in my life that had to go through cancer

00:12:09.520 who had to go through short-term pain for long-term gain.

00:12:13.120 Now she's doing great.

00:12:14.060 but for there was two years of her life that she was in a very tough spot so that's what's

00:12:19.160 happening here look the irgc the ayatollah is the cancer of the middle east and we've been at war 0.88

00:12:25.340 with them since 1979 since they held how many people hostage in iran 400 people 400 americans

00:12:33.180 so this cancer needed to be ripped out one way or another so yes there's going to be some short

00:12:38.780 darn pain, but in the end, there's 0.74

00:12:40.720 going to be some long-term gains. So, listen, 0.98

00:12:42.740 I mean, as you're going through this, and Tom,

00:12:44.860 you briefly talked about the

00:12:46.240 Kadega, the island,

00:12:48.920 the Gadega island, however way you pronounce

00:12:50.720 it, that island, that was 90%

00:12:53.220 of the exporting. Here's

00:12:54.780 the part. I think the part that you didn't cover,

00:12:56.780 Tom, that I think it's worth us putting

00:12:58.720 a couple minutes into. When they

00:13:00.760 say, you know, troops on the ground,

00:13:03.120 here's what I want you to think about.

00:13:05.040 Imagine if the U.S. 0.70

00:13:06.940 all of a sudden

00:13:08.020 send some Navy SEALs, SEAL Team 6, Delta 4s, to go and take over that island.

00:13:16.660 Okay, now that thing is protected.

00:13:18.060 We're talking to one of our guys that used to work IED for many, many years,

00:13:21.080 and he's in the back with us, and he's been at that property himself.

00:13:26.080 And he says they're constantly monitoring the area.

00:13:30.140 But I said, is it easy to get on if you're – he says, yes, of course.

00:13:34.380 Rob, if you can go to the island, if you go back to the picture of the island,

00:13:38.020 So if all of a sudden they go in and they take that over, go through the scenarios.

00:13:44.200 Number one, scenario is what?

00:13:46.400 U.S. and Israel attack this place. 1.00

00:13:48.640 Why is that dumb? 0.97

00:13:49.960 Because if you later on want to get business out of it, you got an issue there. 0.95

00:13:54.540 Number two, if the Samson's option is what? 0.88

00:13:58.480 Destroy it at all.

00:13:59.780 For who to destroy it? 0.99

00:14:00.880 Iran. 0.96

00:14:01.180 For Iran to destroy it. 0.55

00:14:02.760 To say, oh, really?

00:14:03.660 Like when Saddam Hussein lit his own oil wells on fire.

00:14:06.960 Exactly.

00:14:07.360 I want to talk to Sam.

00:14:08.480 We'll do it ourselves.

00:14:09.500 Don't worry about it.

00:14:10.380 We'll take it down, right, if they take it down.

00:14:12.700 So that's the part.

00:14:14.180 All of a sudden, what if we take over?

00:14:16.560 What if you get some special forces comes in and takes over?

00:14:19.400 Listen, guys, we got this under control.

00:14:21.720 We're here now.

00:14:22.880 This is going to be a player here that you talk about straight of Hormuz,

00:14:27.060 the more and more, everybody's getting smarter as we're learning

00:14:29.260 about everything that's going on.

00:14:30.760 But if there is a way that they can get control of this,
