00:00:00.000 Let me ask you a question. You think cops should be able to go up to anybody and ask them for their ID?
00:00:03.580 You think that's racial profiling or you think that's something that's okay?
00:00:06.520 If you say that's racist, you believe in sanctuary cities.
00:00:09.680 If you say that's why we have cops, I want you to check an ID with somebody and say,
00:00:13.680 hey, is this guy up to something good or bad?
00:00:15.580 You're somebody that doesn't believe in sanctuary cities.
00:00:17.780 In America, we have 11 sanctuary states.
00:00:19.920 California, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Massachusetts, Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Vermont, Washington State,
00:00:26.080 and Washington, D.C. These are sanctuary states.
00:00:28.940 Aside from the 11 states, we have 500 cities in America that are sanctuary cities,
00:00:32.920 a total of 20 million people living in those cities.
00:00:35.080 That's 6% of our population where they say we believe in sanctuary cities.
00:00:38.520 What is a sanctuary city?
00:00:39.900 The term was first used in 1980 to describe cities that refuse to cooperate with federal government's Immigration and Naturalization Service,
00:00:48.040 with federal government's Immigration and Naturalization Service, INS, in the enforcement of immigration laws,
00:00:53.660 meaning they defy the federal law.
00:00:55.780 For example, in D.C., a cop cannot ask somebody, hey, can I see your ID?
00:00:59.760 That can be seen as racial profiling.
00:01:01.660 The same applies in many different cities as Chicago and other places.
00:01:05.060 And the reason why we chose to do this video on sanctuary cities is because just over the weekend,
00:01:08.200 New York City, a video has been going viral,
00:01:09.940 showing 200 immigrants standing around saying, hey, New York City, hey, Mayor Adams,
00:01:14.760 you said you're a sanctuary city since spring of 2022.
00:01:18.620 You've attracted 93,000 people coming because you said, we'll take you.
00:01:22.520 As a matter of fact, 3% of all hotel rooms right now in New York City are being used for migrants.
00:01:27.660 That's 3,500 rooms out of 125,000 hotel rooms where the government's paying for it.
00:01:32.620 So, sanctuary cities, good idea, bad idea.
00:01:36.240 What's the solution?
00:01:37.180 We're going to talk about that today.
00:01:38.260 So, if you get value out of this video, give it a thumbs up, subscribe to the channel.
00:01:50.020 So, let's talk about sanctuary cities.
00:01:51.240 So, in America, when you get pulled over, they arrest you, they fingerprint you.
00:01:56.000 The police department is supposed to send that report to the FBI and then FBI to ICE.
00:02:00.940 ICE can come back to that police department, including sanctuary cities,
00:02:04.600 and say, we want you to hold them for 48 more hours because we're going to do our due diligence.
00:02:09.240 Sanctuary cities release the person and say, no, you can be left alone because we're worried
00:02:14.180 because if we don't do this, immigrants will no longer call the cops
00:02:17.280 because if immigrants don't want to call the cops because they're worried INS is going to show up
00:02:20.900 and if they don't call the cops, they're not helping local police officers
00:02:24.280 to make sure the criminals are being caught so we can't scare migrants.
00:02:27.800 So, that's why we don't check their IDs because we've got to kind of work together.
00:02:30.600 That's kind of how the sales pitch is, right?
00:02:32.320 So, now let's look at the pros and cons on how both sides sell the pros.
00:02:35.880 Those in favor of sanctuary cities.
00:02:37.460 Number one, protect undocumented immigrants from deportation.
00:02:40.540 It's kind of like the thing I was talking to you about.
00:02:42.380 Let's not scare these guys.
00:02:43.460 Number two, they promote community trust.
00:02:45.660 When undocumented immigrants feel like they can trust local law enforcement,
00:02:49.420 they are more likely to cooperate with law enforcement and report crimes.
00:02:52.960 Number three, they are good for the economy.
00:02:55.300 Undocumented immigrants often contribute to the economy by paying taxes
00:02:58.300 and starting businesses and spending money in local communities.
00:03:01.260 So, that's the pros.
00:03:02.400 Now, let's look at the cons.
00:03:03.620 They make it harder to enforce immigration laws.
00:03:06.240 Number two, they encourage illegal immigration.
00:03:08.900 Some people argue that sanctuary cities encourage illegal immigration
00:03:11.740 as they create a safe haven for undocumented immigrants.
00:03:15.240 Number three, they are a waste of taxpayers' money.
00:03:17.800 Some people argue that sanctuary cities are a waste of taxpayers' money
00:03:21.360 as they often require additional resources to implement and enforce their policies.
00:03:25.840 For example, Mayor Adams, with all the problems he's having,
00:03:28.020 guess who he's asking for money?
00:03:29.660 The federal government.
00:03:30.480 So, let me get this straight.
00:03:31.740 Do you live in New York City?
00:03:32.980 Maybe you're in L.A.
00:03:33.840 Maybe you're in Miami.
00:03:35.020 Maybe you're in Fort Lauderdale.
00:03:36.180 Maybe you're in Dallas.
00:03:36.980 It doesn't matter.
00:03:37.900 You are now responsible to help support what's going on in New York City,
00:03:41.940 even though that's not where you live.
00:03:43.480 Do you see what happens with taxes?
00:03:44.640 So, they eventually go to the federal government to say we need money.
00:03:47.660 Matter of fact, the top 10 sanctuary cities, federal funding,
00:03:50.560 you know how much they've been asking for?
00:03:51.860 $2.27 billion.
00:03:53.520 Who pays for that?
00:03:54.580 You and I do.
00:03:55.400 Let me just give you an idea about what some people have said about sanctuary cities on both sides,
00:03:58.660 and I'll give you some testimonies of what's happened with some criminals in sanctuary cities.
00:04:02.500 President Biden has supported sanctuary cities and has called on Congress to pass legislation to protect them.
00:04:07.980 Mayor Garcetti of L.A. has said that sanctuary cities are a matter of life and death for undocumented immigrants.
00:04:13.420 Senator Bernie Sanders has said that sanctuary cities are moral imperative
00:04:17.340 and has called on Congress to pass legislation as well to protect them.
00:04:20.680 Now, against sanctuary cities, President Trump has said sanctuary cities are an affront to the rule of law
00:04:26.380 and has threatened to withhold federal funding from cities that do not cooperate with ICE.
00:04:31.060 Attorney General Jeff Sessions has said sanctuary cities are a threat to public safety
00:04:35.440 and has urged the Justice Department to take action against them.
00:04:38.560 And Senator Ted Cruz has said sanctuary cities are a haven for criminals
00:04:42.160 and has called on Congress to pass legislation that would defund them.
00:04:45.540 Now, what kind of crime has been done in these sanctuary cities?
00:04:48.460 Let me give you a couple stories.
00:04:49.720 Juan Francisco Lopez Sanchez, undocumented immigrant from Mexico who was convicted of killing a woman in San Francisco, California in 2015.
00:04:57.020 He was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
00:05:00.240 Luis Barcamontes is an undocumented immigrant from Mexico who was convicted of murdering two police officers in Sacramento, California in 2014.
00:05:07.720 He was sentenced to death and is currently awaiting execution.
00:05:10.160 On March 2022, a man named John Massin, a citizen of Haiti, an illegal immigrant,
00:05:15.620 was taken into custody for the murder of Terry and Brenda Altman and charged with two counts of first-degree murder.
00:05:21.960 Antonio Ulysses Perez, a 38-year-old illegal alien from El Salvador accused of rape,
00:05:26.760 after the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office failed to honor an ICE detainer and released him from custody.
00:05:32.500 So some of you may be watching this and you're for sanctuary cities.
00:05:35.080 You may say, that's unfair, Pat.
00:05:36.180 You're doing exactly what these guys are doing.
00:05:38.240 Well, look at the names you're reading.
00:05:39.660 You know, that's racial profiling.
00:05:41.020 That's not fair.
00:05:41.720 Well, we have to look at stats.
00:05:43.200 And sometimes these stories are not easy stories to look at.
00:05:46.620 So then the next conversation becomes, do illegal immigrants commit more crimes than legal immigrants?
00:05:51.700 And this is what Cato Institute tells us.
00:05:53.640 In 2018, the illegal immigrant criminal conviction rate was 782 per 100,000 versus legal immigrants was 535 per 100,000.
00:06:04.140 Meanwhile, it's 1422 per 100,000 native-born Americans.
00:06:08.960 So, legal immigrants commit the fewest crimes in America, people who came here illegally, okay?
00:06:16.320 Then it's illegal immigrants.
00:06:19.240 Then it's native-born people that were born here, right?
00:06:21.460 Those are the ratios you're looking at now.
00:06:22.880 Some people will say, well, it's not correct because illegal immigrants, you know, how do you track them?
00:06:27.180 They're not documented, so you can't really, the numbers will be higher.
00:06:29.820 It's skewed.
00:06:30.440 You can't really do this.
00:06:31.320 Fine.
00:06:31.660 All I'm telling you is the numbers.
00:06:32.940 So if we ask the question, there's four of us here.
00:06:34.860 We're talking about this stuff.
00:06:36.160 If we ask the question, Mike says, I agree that illegal immigrants would commit fewer crimes than Native Americans
00:06:41.740 because they're afraid of being sent back to their country, so they're more careful to not do anything.
00:06:46.080 That is an argument that can be made.
00:06:48.320 However, these are the numbers.
00:06:50.160 When Trump was president, he made November 1st a National Day of Remembrance
00:06:53.600 for Americans killed by illegal immigrants.
00:06:55.580 He put the number 63,000.
00:06:57.280 This is something that is concerning to a lot of people in America in different places to live.
00:07:01.940 So now, I got some thoughts on this that I want you to be thinking about.
00:07:04.460 Point number one, let's just say you're a sanctuary city and you're defying government law.
00:07:07.660 Government, I'm not going to follow your guidelines.
00:07:09.160 With ICE, all this stuff, we're not going to do it
00:07:10.680 because we're a sanctuary city.
00:07:12.100 We want to make these immigrants feel uncomfortable when they come here.
00:07:15.180 But, hey, you know, we're going to need like $2.27 billion.
00:07:18.700 Can you please send us some money because we kind of need your help to defy your laws.
00:07:23.980 But can you please, because we care about immigrants more than our locals.
00:07:29.520 I mean, I know it kind of sounds contradictory, but send us some money, please.
00:07:32.940 We need your help, right?
00:07:34.260 And we're not going to follow your rules.
00:07:35.660 Do you see how stupid that sounds, right?
00:07:37.420 Here's the next part to you.
00:07:38.480 Immigration.
00:07:38.840 America's got 51 million people that are immigrants here.
00:07:42.100 Give or take the number, we're number one.
00:07:43.480 And you got some of the other countries in Russia, I think, Saudi Arabia.
00:07:46.820 You got some of these other countries that are there.
00:07:48.560 Great.
00:07:49.020 I'm an immigrant.
00:07:49.860 I came here legally.
00:07:51.140 I lived in Germany at a refugee camp for 18 months.
00:07:53.440 I remember living there.
00:07:54.740 Local Germans didn't like us because we kind of did cause havoc.
00:07:58.660 And we messed up their culture a little bit.
00:08:00.820 They didn't like us.
00:08:01.600 It wasn't like, well, we're Germans.
00:08:03.540 I'm like, well, I'm from Pakistan.
00:08:04.780 I'm from Afghanistan.
00:08:05.460 I'm from Czech.
00:08:06.260 I'm from Yugoslavia.
00:08:07.140 I'm from Albania.
00:08:08.100 I'm from Poland.
00:08:08.800 Well, you know, this is, you know, you come here and mess our stuff up and you're getting
00:08:11.900 together with our daughters and messing up our cultures.
00:08:14.380 That was a little bit uncomfortable for them, right?
00:08:16.260 Finally, I came to the States and I'm grateful to be here.
00:08:18.480 There's a couple of things we have to be thinking about.
00:08:20.740 What's more important to protect?
00:08:22.720 People that are here or people that want to come here?
00:08:25.360 It's a valid question, right?
00:08:27.100 Who's more important?
00:08:28.220 Well, of course it's Americans.
00:08:29.620 Do our policies protect more Americans or do they protect more people coming here?
00:08:34.280 Well, Pat, you know, you're not being empathetic.
00:08:36.840 You don't understand?
00:08:37.220 These people have a very tough life.
00:08:38.640 Totally get it.
00:08:39.480 I understand, right?
00:08:40.620 But you can't say that and then you say, wow, why are we involved in all these wars?
00:08:44.840 Well, these guys have tough lives, but let them solve their own problems.
00:08:48.140 Exactly.
00:08:48.960 So you can't say that, yet you say, let's do this, yet your city's a mess.
00:08:53.660 And Mayor Adams is here talking about how they're in a conflict in New York because the citizens
00:08:57.680 of New York are not happy because of what's going on in the city, but he still wants to
00:09:00.880 be a sanctuary city because you understand how complicated this is.
00:09:03.380 Let me give you another conversation here to be thinking about.
00:09:05.340 Do you know what percentage Americans adopt?
00:09:07.180 Two to four percent of American parents adopt.
00:09:10.420 Now, would you adopt?
00:09:12.460 I got a question for you.
00:09:13.720 Would you adopt?
00:09:15.300 You may say, I think so.
00:09:17.660 Okay, fair.
00:09:18.720 You know what percentage Americans support adopting?
00:09:21.960 33%.
00:09:22.400 But only two to four percent do.
00:09:24.520 You know what percentage Americans are like, well, sanctuary city is great.
00:09:27.140 You support it?
00:09:27.980 I do.
00:09:28.580 Give us that one bedroom you're not using.
00:09:30.420 Well, no, no, no, no, no.
00:09:32.480 Let them go to somebody else's house, but not my house.
00:09:35.360 What happened?
00:09:36.020 Do you see the leak and the contradiction and the hypocrisy and these arguments that
00:09:40.120 eventually when it comes down to the individual, they say no?
00:09:43.000 Now, why do some people adopt?
00:09:44.880 Some people adopt because they can't have kids.
00:09:46.780 Some people adopt because they want to give back to the community.
00:09:49.040 They want to give back and contribute.
00:09:50.580 Some people adopt because they go to church and a church is doing a sermon and a message saying,
00:09:54.600 hey, there's a lot of kids that need help.
00:09:56.260 Here's some stories and somebody prays.
00:09:58.140 They say, I want to go give back and I want to adopt.
00:10:00.980 Stuck in that winter slump?
00:10:02.760 Try Dove Men plus Care Aluminum Free Deodorant.
00:10:05.900 All it takes is a small change to your routine to lift your mood.
00:10:09.220 And it can be as simple as starting your day with the mood boosting sense of Dove Men plus
00:10:13.100 Care Aluminum Free Deodorant.
00:10:14.840 It'll keep you feeling fresh for up to 72 hours.
00:10:18.240 And when you smell good, you feel good.
00:10:21.200 Visit Dove.com to learn more.
00:10:22.880 And some people say, I will only adopt children that are under the age of two because I don't
00:10:27.760 want to adopt older kids because they're going to affect my kids.
00:10:30.140 There's a lot of different ways to adopt.
00:10:31.760 Now, ask the question why some people don't want to adopt.
00:10:33.520 Well, I can't afford it.
00:10:34.500 Fine.
00:10:35.060 Number two, I think it's going to mess up our culture if they come into our house.
00:10:38.400 It's just going to really mess it up.
00:10:39.640 And my kids are doing good.
00:10:40.820 I don't want to confuse them.
00:10:41.600 What if this kid that I'm adopting has drug issues and has seen stuff and they're going
00:10:45.220 to tell my other kids and my kids start picking up the habit?
00:10:47.360 I'm a little bit worried.
00:10:48.100 These are all valid conversations that people have, okay?
00:10:51.380 Very valid conversations.
00:10:52.760 But the idea of us, the way we sell America, I want me as an immigrant, I owe to America.
00:11:04.020 I owe to the founding fathers.
00:11:06.340 I am grateful to America.
00:11:08.580 I don't look at it and say, what can America give me?
00:11:10.800 I look at what can I give back to this country?
00:11:12.840 Because I owe America.
00:11:14.360 Some politicians want to say, no, no, America owes these guys.
00:11:18.140 I think we're not making our priorities in the right place.
00:11:21.760 There's many problems in the world.
00:11:23.940 Many of them.
00:11:24.660 If we want to solve every single one of them, it'll come at a cost of us going bankrupt.
00:11:29.500 You saw what happened to our rating.
00:11:30.940 Fitch just downgraded us from a AAA to AA+.
00:11:34.520 This is the first time since 2011.
00:11:36.400 So we're spending so much money, we're in so much debt helping everybody else's problems
00:11:40.520 that our credit cards are maxed out and we're being downgraded.
00:11:43.180 Yeah, but what are you saying?
00:11:44.880 We shouldn't send that money to Ukraine?
00:11:46.240 We sent more money to Ukraine last year than Russia has in their military budget every year.
00:11:50.040 We could have spent that $70 to $100 billion in America.
00:11:52.900 And how many problems we could have solved?
00:11:54.160 So many of them.
00:11:55.040 Cops in schools, protection for our kids.
00:11:57.780 There's so many.
00:11:59.120 Veterans.
00:11:59.620 There's so many things we could have done.
00:12:01.520 So many things we could have done.
00:12:02.920 But no, we're spending money because we want to solve everyone's problems.
00:12:05.720 So what's the message here?
00:12:06.780 Don't do immigration.
00:12:07.780 This is the melting pot, Pat.
00:12:09.360 We shouldn't do that.
00:12:10.140 No, I'm grateful that they allowed me to come to America.
00:12:13.540 But to just keep the door open and say anybody and everybody forget about the border, you
00:12:17.800 know you don't believe in that.
00:12:19.240 You know you don't live that way.
00:12:20.920 You know you don't live your door open for anybody to come in.
00:12:24.320 Why should America do that?
00:12:25.620 Do you see how that sounds ridiculous?
00:12:28.680 That's why Sanctuary City doesn't make sense to tens of millions of people in America.
00:12:34.520 If you got value out of this video, give it a thumbs up and subscribe to the channel.
00:12:37.280 If you've not seen my video I did on the D.C. disaster, D.C. is the city that you can't
00:12:41.860 ask people for ID because it's royshire profiling.
00:12:44.320 Wait till you see the stats on D.C., how much of a mess it is.
00:12:46.720 If you've never seen that, click here to watch.
00:12:48.920 I'll take care, everybody.
00:12:49.800 Bye-bye, bye-bye.
