00:00:00.000 So look, just like in business or in life, you're one person away, one recruit away.
00:00:03.560 Either you're life changing or you're company changing.
00:00:06.020 In InterMiami, this is a soccer team that was worth $500 million just a year ago.
00:00:11.580 Today, they're guesstimating that the organization is now worth $1.5 billion.
00:00:15.660 After recruiting one guy named Messi, June 7th, InterMiami's Instagram account had 900,000 followers.
00:00:22.180 Today, two and a half months later, it went from 900,000 to 14.3 million.
00:00:27.740 And they just won the champ.
00:00:30.000 They went from the worst to the best.
00:00:32.340 A couple other people showed up.
00:00:33.740 Messi got 50, 60 million a year, plus bonuses, plus possible equity when he's done retiring,
00:00:38.580 playing with these guys after two and a half years.
00:00:40.240 Eventually, his career earnings are going to be around $1.6 billion.
00:00:43.140 So what can you and I learn as a business owner myself?
00:00:46.740 I made seven, eight, nine points how this applies to all of us.
00:00:50.140 How you are one recruit away from taking your life and your business to the next level.
00:01:00.000 All right, so if you give value out of this video, give it a thumbs up and subscribe to the channel.
00:01:07.940 Now, for those of you that know who Messi is, he's the GOAT.
00:01:09.860 He just won with Argentina.
00:01:10.920 There's no more argument.
00:01:11.820 It's a done-done.
00:01:12.480 The guys won seven Ballon d'Ors.
00:01:14.340 Won the Champions League four times in the Copa America with Argentina.
00:01:17.100 He scored 815 goals for the club and the country throughout his professional career.
00:01:21.480 I can go on and on.
00:01:22.380 The first and only player in the history to win five and six European Golden Boots.
00:01:26.340 He holds the record for the most goals in La Liga with 474.
00:01:29.540 The player with the most official recorded assists in football history with 357.
00:01:33.080 And he's the only player to have 300 club career assists to his name.
00:01:36.020 So, having said that, what are the points that we have when it comes down to business?
00:01:39.120 I got market, synergist, vision, proven concept, plant the seed, sell the dream, and follow-up challenge accepted.
00:01:46.220 So, let's go through the market.
00:01:47.460 First of all, to attract somebody as good as Messi to your company, you've got to have these eight things in place.
00:01:54.300 Number one, a market.
00:01:55.640 What is the market?
00:01:56.440 Miami, Gustavo Starlinkoff, the man who introduced Messi to his first Miami home, sold Messi a unit at Porsche Design Tower in Sunny Isles Beach.
00:02:04.240 In 2019, it was the star's first South Florida property he bought.
00:02:07.920 At the time, it was a $5 million deal handling both sides of transaction for a 4,400 square foot unit on the 47th floor of the 60-story luxury oceanfront tower.
00:02:17.840 Beautiful property.
00:02:19.140 So, comes in, looks at the place.
00:02:21.220 Wow, I'm kind of liking Miami.
00:02:22.540 He's seen the market.
00:02:23.460 He's excited about it.
00:02:24.680 Since then, Messi has invested heavily into Miami.
00:02:27.040 No wonder he's considering a two-and-a-half-year contract.
00:02:29.240 So, he's coming to Miami.
00:02:30.180 He's liking the market.
00:02:30.960 He's liking what it's looking like.
00:02:32.040 And then, all of a sudden, he sees, you know, market.
00:02:34.040 Miami is doing their part.
00:02:35.340 Dana White comes out and says, in an interview, well, Miami just broke the record for the biggest gate for UFC 281, beating God, Madison Square Garden.
00:02:43.020 He's given all these numbers.
00:02:43.780 11-and-a-half million.
00:02:44.580 It was the same as the main event.
00:02:45.700 And, ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba.
00:02:47.140 Miami is what L.A. was 10 years ago.
00:02:48.900 So, the market is ripe to recruit somebody like that.
00:02:52.380 So, look, one of the things that happens when you're running a business and you've got a big vision, many times you're going to be alone.
00:02:56.200 You don't have somebody to talk to.
00:02:57.160 You want to go to your wife, you can't talk to your wife. 0.98
00:02:58.640 You want to go to your family.
00:02:59.560 They're like, nobody told you to start a business or anything big you're trying to do with your life.
00:03:03.240 There's going to be moments where you're going to be by yourself.
00:03:05.460 And, you're afraid to go talk to somebody, maybe a therapist.
00:03:08.280 Don't use that word to go see a therapist.
00:03:10.000 Guess what?
00:03:10.480 I did.
00:03:11.080 Many times when I was starting my business, I didn't have anybody to talk to.
00:03:13.700 Sometimes, you go to a place and you're sitting down and you're like, wait a minute, a co-worker is there.
00:03:17.560 What are you doing here?
00:03:18.380 There's a company called BetterHelp where you get to go and talk to a therapist on your phone.
00:03:23.060 You can have the camera on if you want to.
00:03:24.600 And, if you don't want to have the camera on, you don't want to, no problem.
00:03:26.840 You can do it with an audio to speak to somebody.
00:03:28.780 And, if it doesn't work yet, you'll change it up.
00:03:30.480 BetterHelp offers 30,000 licensed and experienced therapists who can help you with a wide range of issues.
00:03:36.100 To get started, all you have to do is answer a few questions about your needs and preferences in therapy.
00:03:40.240 That way, BetterHelp can match you better with the right therapist from their network.
00:03:43.460 Then, you can talk to your therapist however you feel comfortable, whether it's via text, chat, phone, or video call.
00:03:48.160 And, you can message your therapist at any time and schedule live sessions when it's convenient for you.
00:03:52.820 You get 10% off your first month's order if you go to BetterHelp.com forward slash Valuetainment.
00:03:57.000 And, I've also linked them below as well.
00:03:58.760 Again, go to BetterHelp.com forward slash Valuetainment or click on the link below and you get 10% off your first month.
00:04:04.600 Number two, you need a synergist.
00:04:06.140 The synergist is Beckham.
00:04:07.200 On February 5th of 2014, MLS announced that Beckham had exercised his option to buy MLS expansion team for $25 million,
00:04:14.300 which he had received as part of the contract he signed with the LA Galaxy in 2007.
00:04:19.420 The ownership group led by Beckham originally hoped the Miami-based team would begin play in 2016-2017 after delays in getting a stadium deal completed.
00:04:27.140 MLS announced in January of 2018 that the team had been approved and will likely begin play in 2020.
00:04:32.840 So, Beckham, the synergist, is like, look, this place is great.
00:04:36.000 You may want to come here.
00:04:37.000 What if we do something together?
00:04:38.160 You should come take a look at us.
00:04:39.280 So, Beckham's kind of doing his part as a synergist, telling Messi, yeah, you ought to come to MLS.
00:04:43.960 I know we're like better than this, but trust me, we can make this work.
00:04:46.420 We can be heroes in America.
00:04:47.580 Messi is thinking about it.
00:04:48.720 Okay, so now we have the market.
00:04:50.100 We have the synergist, which is kind of like Beckham.
00:04:51.940 He relates to Beckham.
00:04:52.780 Beckham was one of the best players to ever play.
00:04:54.300 You're willing to go to MLS and LA Galaxy.
00:04:56.180 Maybe I ought to consider this.
00:04:57.360 But then there was somebody that was planning to see it, and that's Jorge Mas, the owner.
00:05:00.860 In 2019, Inter-Miami started talking about getting Messi.
00:05:04.320 I think he comes with a desire to leave his mark, and he will be able to do so beyond football.
00:05:09.080 When he retires, he will have a stake in the club.
00:05:11.140 I imagine a life after football for Messi very similar to David Beckham or Michael Jordan.
00:05:16.700 He's recruiting now.
00:05:17.880 Hey, you may want to come to, and this is 2019.
00:05:20.520 Think about from 2019, four years ago, till June 7th of 2023, after he wins the World Cup.
00:05:27.820 You're willing to get a guy like that to come to you?
00:05:29.720 You've got to respect Jorge Mas.
00:05:31.060 They also discussed surrounding Messi with players of his level.
00:05:34.620 So at the same time, while they're talking to Messi, they're like, look, who are these
00:05:37.400 guys' best friends?
00:05:38.320 Who do you want to play with? 1.00
00:05:39.960 And they knew Jordi Alba was one of his best friends.
00:05:42.520 Then they knew Sergio Busquets, which is another teammate that he had in the past.
00:05:45.740 And then a coach who he had played with before from 2014 to 2016, Tata Martino.
00:05:50.720 And they said, hey, if you come here, what if we go get these guys?
00:05:53.040 And I'm like, you can't get them.
00:05:53.860 If you get them, I'd be interested.
00:05:54.880 Again, this whole thing is the offer being put together and planting the seed.
00:05:59.140 Eventually, that little vision became a reality.
00:06:02.540 So now you have to realize, while this is happening, Saudi Arabia is offering this guy $400 million.
00:06:07.940 Come and play with us.
00:06:08.820 Oh my gosh, this guy's going to go over there and play.
00:06:10.960 But does he really want to go over there?
00:06:12.240 Someone is selling him the dream this entire time.
00:06:14.600 And it's not one person.
00:06:15.440 It's not two.
00:06:15.980 It's the collective group now.
00:06:17.680 Celebrities from Miami are selling them the dream.
00:06:19.480 You should come here.
00:06:20.560 This is the place to be.
00:06:21.900 This is the place where your kids can be raised.
00:06:24.240 A lot of like-minded people, they'll love you in here.
00:06:26.820 You know, you're from Argentina.
00:06:27.840 He wanted to get the love.
00:06:29.480 It wasn't just about money for him.
00:06:30.920 There's some players that when they get to a point to retire, the only thing that matters to them is,
00:06:34.140 I'm old, let me get my money.
00:06:35.380 Messi, it was much more than money for him.
00:06:37.180 He wanted to be the greatest of all time.
00:06:38.500 He went for his country.
00:06:39.300 He did a check.
00:06:40.000 Number two, he wanted to be in a place to raise his family around people that he's loved and he's accepted.
00:06:44.740 And that dream was sold properly to him by everybody in Miami.
00:06:48.780 So a guy like this needs a proven concept to say, well, why would I do this if there's a proven concept?
00:06:53.960 Remember the sinner just earlier, David Beckham?
00:06:55.980 Massive role.
00:06:56.580 Look at the relationship and the bond between them.
00:06:59.000 He was the one that was the first that took the risk.
00:07:01.720 $25 million, MLS.
00:07:03.040 Who watched MLS back in the days?
00:07:04.420 15 years, nobody.
00:07:05.340 Now, today, nobody would.
00:07:07.320 I remember I went and sat down with the owner of Houston Dynamo.
00:07:10.680 He picked up that organization for $40 million.
00:07:13.380 I've been to that game.
00:07:14.400 I know the owner.
00:07:15.080 He was one of my investors in the past with the company, with De La Hoya.
00:07:18.320 MLS, no one believed it.
00:07:20.160 But the proven concept and showing that this is possible eventually got Messi to say, I'm coming.
00:07:26.000 So imagine you're Beckham this entire time.
00:07:27.980 You're like, dude, I'd love to get Messi.
00:07:29.160 I'd love to get Messi.
00:07:29.900 I'd love to get Messi.
00:07:30.660 It's on him to prove to the market that this is the place to be.
00:07:34.360 The more he proved working behind closed doors constantly, eventually he earned the right.
00:07:39.880 He had the moral authority to say, Messi, come take a look at this.
00:07:42.880 This could be a real thing for you.
00:07:43.980 And eventually, obviously, it happened.
00:07:45.800 And by the way, the last one I'll tell you, this isn't just one person or two people.
00:07:48.940 This is a lot of people constantly following up.
00:07:51.860 Hey, have you seen what happened here?
00:07:53.520 Did you see what happened to Miami?
00:07:54.740 Did you see during COVID?
00:07:55.800 Did you see what Florida did?
00:07:56.960 Did you see what's going on in Florida?
00:07:58.320 Have you seen the schools?
00:07:59.240 Have you seen what's going on here?
00:08:00.480 What about if you come here?
00:08:01.420 They love you here.
00:08:02.500 It's constant follow-up, follow-up, follow-up, follow-up, follow-up until eventually he came here.
00:08:08.400 Let me tell you when I knew he was moving to Miami.
00:08:10.160 I got an email one day from his realtor.
00:08:12.480 Hey, Patrick, Messi really likes your house.
00:08:16.280 He saw your video.
00:08:17.320 He saw the house.
00:08:18.500 He wants to come and tour the house.
00:08:19.820 And this is the amount.
00:08:20.900 It was a very friendly, generous, monthly amount.
00:08:24.540 Do you realize when I had to send that email back, my nine-year-old was so upset at me that
00:08:30.240 I didn't say yes.
00:08:31.260 My nine-year-old was saying, we'll share the house with him.
00:08:34.280 I said, buddy, this guy's not sharing the house with us.
00:08:36.520 And we can't.
00:08:37.300 We got a lot of stuff going on.
00:08:38.420 We have to say, thank you.
00:08:39.720 Appreciate the fact that you like the house.
00:08:41.180 But we cannot do it.
00:08:42.020 That's when I knew he was coming here because we got that email.
00:08:45.060 He came to our community.
00:08:46.120 He looked at the houses.
00:08:47.160 Craziness.
00:08:47.700 And by the way, I sent a couple of our guys to go watch his game in Argentina when they
00:08:53.440 won the finals with Mbappe, France, when Mbappe had three goals.
00:08:57.420 And they come back just to craziness.
00:08:58.920 Because that sporting event, the game, may go down as the most incredible sporting game
00:09:05.240 of any sport, of all time.
00:09:07.140 Messi was a part of it because he carried so much of a burden.
00:09:10.480 Because if he didn't win that day, he can't go down as the greatest of all time.
00:09:14.320 Because he doesn't have a World Cup.
00:09:16.380 And he pulled it off.
00:09:17.200 So for Miami to have picked up a guy like him, who seems like a family guy, a loving
00:09:22.420 guy, a guy that matches the audience that's here in South Florida.
00:09:26.540 Florida loves him.
00:09:27.700 He loves Florida.
00:09:28.420 It's been such a great partnership.
00:09:29.980 Him winning the championship, he takes the captain off.
00:09:32.540 He gives it to the older captain.
00:09:33.960 And he says, no, let's lift it up together.
00:09:35.860 You ought to do it.
00:09:36.600 Because you were the captain before me.
00:09:37.900 The greatest of all time to do that.
00:09:39.260 It's the kind of stuff that you look at and you say, there's a reason why this guy's
00:09:41.640 a builder.
00:09:42.100 He's a leader amongst leaders.
00:09:43.400 You got to love Messi on what he's done.
00:09:45.820 So when you get a chance to recruit a guy like Messi within your business, you may not
00:09:50.220 get him right off the bat.
00:09:51.180 It may take you six months, 12 months, 24 months.
00:09:54.200 It may take you three, five.
00:09:55.660 Sometimes it may even take you 10 years like it did with Beckham.
00:09:58.420 But if you do pick him up, that team...
00:10:00.080 A Tim's donut and coffee is the original collab.
00:10:02.560 And now, any classic donut is a dollar when you buy any size original or dark roast coffee.
00:10:06.740 Get a deal on the iconic duo with a Tim's dollar donut.
00:10:09.780 Plus tax at participating restaurants for a limited time.
00:10:11.760 Terms apply.
00:10:12.300 See app for details.
00:10:12.940 That Beckham bought for $25 million is not today worth about a billion and a half.
00:10:19.980 One guy took the valuation from $500 million to a billion and a half.
00:10:23.380 So if you got those guys you want to recruit, be patient with them.
00:10:25.980 You recruit them.
00:10:26.980 Life changing.
00:10:28.020 And also your business is going to change.
00:10:29.320 If you got value out of this video, give it a thumbs up.
00:10:31.320 Subscribe to the channel.
00:10:32.120 And if you're wondering why so many guys are looking at sports, I just became recently
00:10:35.620 a minority owner of the Yankees.
00:10:36.960 Why are people...
00:10:37.960 Is alternative investments in sports teams and art something you ought to look at?
00:10:41.740 You may want to click here to watch that video because some of the data is absolutely crazy
00:10:45.860 with what country in the world is so interested in sports in America.
00:10:51.300 Take care, everybody.
00:10:52.080 Bye-bye, bye-bye.
00:10:52.520 Bye-bye.
