00:04:05.260 You look at gas prices, for example, and let's talk about that for a moment.
00:04:08.700 The president has said, and many that are analysts, military and say, look, if this is a short-term thing, this is going to be a short-term pain.
00:04:16.300 And what you gain is massive compared to that in the future because this is how much Iran could hold the world hostage.
00:04:23.500 Look at this, what has happened here recently.
00:04:25.280 And these prices have obviously jumped significantly.
00:04:28.320 The president has made it clear he thinks this is going to be a short-term event, and we're not invading.
00:04:33.360 We are going after regime change, and then things will go back to normal.

00:04:46.880 We have seen an energy spike, and any time there's a conflict in the Middle East, you typically see oil prices spike and gasoline prices spike.

00:04:57.800 I don't expect this conflict to last more than a couple of weeks, and I think you'll see gasoline prices drop back down.
00:05:05.020 And I will note President Trump has a lot of credibility on this.

00:05:11.120 In some places, $6, $7 a gallon, and those prices have dropped all but in half.
00:05:17.120 In Texas, you could routinely buy a gallon of gas for between $2 and $3 a gallon.

00:05:25.880 I also want to make a broader point about analyzing the energy component of what's going on.
00:05:32.360 And there was a Twitter thread by this analyst named Guy Lahren, who is not a fan of Trump's,
00:05:39.900 but I think actually his analysis of the energy policy in the Middle East was very insightful, so I want to share it with you.

00:10:19.220 and the principal reason for going in is to keep Americans safe
00:10:22.120 from Iranian terrorism and aggression.
00:10:25.080 But it is also a very, very powerful China play,
00:10:29.920 enhancing U.S. economic security and national security.
00:10:33.520 You know, one of the things you mentioned there is what Americans worry about,
00:10:37.440 and you go back to just some of the headlines that we're seeing right now.
00:10:41.520 One of them out of New York,
00:10:43.040 there was an arrest made after a homemade explosive caused terror scare in New York City.
00:10:46.920 This device that was hurled at Gracie,
00:10:51.300 I mean, it's a protest determined to be highly dangerous IED capable of serious injury or death.
00:10:56.800 People see this like, well, maybe, and again, I think it's important that we deal with this.
00:11:01.060 They say, well, this is why maybe we shouldn't have gone after Iran.
00:11:04.700 I think that's flawed logic to think that way.
00:11:07.260 These threats are threats whether we got there or not,
00:11:09.680 and I don't think there's a direct cause and effect.
00:11:12.420 I think there are bad people in the world that want to commit heinous crimes,
00:11:15.580 and their timing may change because of what we did in Iran.

00:12:24.520 wearing a t-shirt with an Iranian flag,
00:12:27.240 attacked a bar on 6th Street in Austin.
00:12:30.080 And again, this is the terrorism,
00:12:32.760 the vulnerability that President Trump is acting to protect against.
00:12:36.920 But I've got to tell you, in the midst of this,
00:12:39.640 look, we have an enhanced risk for terrorism right now.
00:12:42.860 It is obvious.
00:12:45.020 Jihadist clerics have put out a fatwa calling on terrorists to try to kill Americans.
00:12:51.500 And in the middle of this, do you know what we did this week?
00:12:53.880 We voted again to fund the Department of Homeland Security.
00:12:56.280 And every Democrat except John Fetterman said,
00:12:59.420 no, we will not fund DHS.
00:13:02.700 The department literally created to defend us against terrorist attacks.
00:13:07.000 You mentioned that, and let's go into that a little bit more.
