Verdict with Ted Cruz - BONUS： Daily Review with Clay and Buck - Jul 17 2025

00:00:00.000 This is an iHeart Podcast.

00:00:02.660 Guaranteed human.

00:00:04.180 Clay, have you heard of the Rio Reset?

00:00:06.400 Sounds like a trendy new workout, Buck.

00:00:08.660 It does, but it's actually a big summit going on in Brazil.

00:00:11.620 The formal name is BRICS, which stands for Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa.

00:00:16.500 But they've just added five new members.

00:00:18.680 Smart move to stick with BRICS. 1.00

00:00:20.540 We know what happens when acronyms don't end.

00:00:22.740 They confuse everyone.

00:00:23.940 Well, that's an understatement.

00:00:25.400 BRICS is a group of emerging economies

00:00:27.140 hoping to increase their sway in the global financial order.

00:00:30.640 Now that sounds like the plot line of a movie.

00:00:33.020 I'm listening.

00:00:34.000 Philip Patrick is our Bruce Wayne.

00:00:36.160 He's a precious metal specialist and a spokesman for the Birch Gold Group.

00:00:40.340 He's on the ground in Rio getting the whole lowdown on what's going on there.

00:00:44.580 Can he give us some inside intel?

00:00:46.360 Absolutely.

00:00:47.100 He's been there since day one.

00:00:48.680 In fact, a major theme at the summit is how BRICS nations aim to reduce reliance

00:00:53.100 on the U.S. dollar in global trade.

00:00:55.540 Yikes.

00:00:55.980 That doesn't sound good.

00:00:56.980 We got to get Philip on the line, stat.

00:00:59.220 Already did, and he left the Clay and Buck audience this message.

00:01:03.160 The world is moving on from the dollar, quietly but steadily.

00:01:08.140 These nations are making real progress towards reshaping global trade,

00:01:12.440 and the U.S. dollar is no longer the centerpiece.

00:01:15.840 That shift doesn't happen overnight.

00:01:18.740 But make no mistake, it's already begun.

00:01:21.380 Thank you, Philip.

00:01:22.420 Protect the value of your savings account, your 401k, your IRA,

00:01:25.440 all of them by purchasing gold and placing it into those accounts

00:01:28.880 and reducing your exposure to a declining dollar value.

00:01:32.100 Text my name, Buck, to 989898.

00:01:35.420 You get the free information you'll need to make the right decision.

00:01:38.480 You can rely on Birch Gold Group, as I do,

00:01:40.940 to give you the information you need to make an informed decision.

00:01:43.820 One more time, text my name, Buck, to 989898.

00:01:48.220 Welcome in Thursday edition, Clay Travis, Buck Sexton Show.

00:01:52.500 We appreciate all of you hanging out with us.

00:01:55.760 We've got an awesome show headed your way.

00:01:58.280 Some good news right off the top.

00:02:00.520 The Senate late, I guess it was early this morning or late last night,

00:02:04.420 depending on how you want to actually classify it,

00:02:06.700 but they have voted to take the taxpayer money from PBS and NPR.

00:02:12.240 This is something that's been talked about for generations.

00:02:15.420 They actually have done it.

00:02:16.840 The House has to officially approve it,

00:02:18.600 but I do think sometimes we can get lost in the generational change

00:02:24.180 that is occurring in front of us.

00:02:26.620 Sometimes you get lost in obsessing about smaller things

00:02:30.880 and missing the bigger picture.

00:02:32.360 So try to be cognizant of that on this program.

00:02:35.500 So let me give some good news right off the top.

00:02:37.440 They've been trying to do this.

00:02:38.520 Just a fun Google search.

00:02:40.180 July 1st, 2004.

00:02:42.240 The White House is one step closer to defunding public radio.

00:02:46.100 So upset.

00:02:46.800 That's 2004, everybody.

00:02:48.660 We've been trying to do this since I was in college

00:02:51.780 and Clay was working on his PhD.

00:02:54.460 I think this has actually been going on in the 70s and 80s.

00:02:59.200 I think Republicans have been saying,

00:03:00.920 why are we funding this since the 70s?

00:03:02.460 I think it's legitimately older than many of the people

00:03:05.740 who are listening to this program right now.

00:03:07.520 We are very close to that occurring.

00:03:09.300 Let me give you a little bit of a roadmap.

00:03:10.760 Marsha Blackburn, Senator from Tennessee,

00:03:12.660 our friend's going to join us next hour.

00:03:14.540 Also, Alan Dershowitz.

00:03:16.240 I read some of the excerpts of his Wall Street Journal editorial.

00:03:19.960 He represented Jeffrey Epstein in his criminal defense case

00:03:25.020 that started 20 years ago.

00:03:27.120 And he laid out a lot of what he knows to actually be

00:03:31.140 in the so-called Epstein files.

00:03:33.020 We will give you all of that.

00:03:35.160 But, Buck, this morning, I was getting ready

00:03:37.900 and I saw our good buddy Zoran Mamdami.

00:03:43.680 There continues to be more and more what I would say

00:03:47.540 are straight communist swill videos with him endorsing them.

00:03:53.100 I don't even think there's any way to tiptoe up to this.

00:03:56.040 It's no longer remotely socialism.

00:03:58.980 He is a committed communist.

00:04:00.660 And you say, okay, what does that sound like?

00:04:04.100 Well, it sounds like saying, hey, I think we might need to abolish

00:04:10.040 public private property.

00:04:12.960 And I'm going to play that for a minute.

00:04:14.000 Let me also tell you, fun coming.

00:04:16.640 Shane Gillis, the comedian, went on the ESPYs last night.

00:04:20.860 We've got some funny jokes that we will play for you later in the program.

00:04:23.920 And I promise you that they're going to make you laugh.

00:04:27.200 And I guarantee you that the DEI email and text chains inside of ESPN

00:04:33.640 are feverish right now over the jokes that he told.

00:04:38.100 And we'll play some of those for your enjoyment.

00:04:40.280 But this is Mamdami, the Democrat mayor for New York City,

00:04:45.100 saying, hey, maybe we just need to consider abolishing private property.

00:04:50.400 This is cut for my platform is that every single person should have housed.

00:04:54.880 And I think faced with these two options, the system, the system has hundreds of

00:04:59.740 thousands of people unhoused, right?

00:05:01.860 For for what?

00:05:03.520 And if there was any system that could guarantee each person housing, whether you

00:05:09.220 call it the abolition of private property or you call it, you know, just a

00:05:12.820 statewide housing guarantee.

00:05:13.960 It is preferable to what is going on right now.

00:05:17.100 And I think that people try and play like gotcha games about these kinds of

00:05:21.380 things.

00:05:21.620 And it's like, look, I care more about whether somebody has a home.

00:05:26.040 OK, let me ask you this, Buck, because this is where I went when I started to see

00:05:30.660 these videos.

00:05:31.240 And then Curtis Lee was on Fox News.

00:05:33.360 He's on Fox News all the time.

00:05:34.740 He's going to be the Republican nominee.

00:05:36.600 Andrew Cuomo and Eric Adams are both going to be independent.

00:05:39.900 And it looks like the split vote is going to put mom, Donnie in as mayor. 1.00

00:05:44.240 Am I being a total jerk? 0.99

00:05:47.220 The answer may very well be yes. 0.99

00:05:49.020 When I look at this strategically and say, I think Republicans are fighting too

00:05:54.040 hard to beat this guy.

00:05:55.320 I think we should let Democrats elect a communist mayor of New York City and let 0.88

00:06:01.420 mom, Donnie and all of the crazy things that he has said be the face of the

00:06:07.280 Democrat Party next year for the midterms.

00:06:10.520 We may have to sacrifice New York City in terms of having a competent mayor in order

00:06:15.860 to win a bigger prize, which is the House of Representatives.

00:06:20.700 Tell me why this is not strategically the wrong.

00:06:22.940 Why should we fight as hard as we can to protect Democrats from the lunacy of their

00:06:28.820 choices?

00:06:29.800 Well, Mr. Nashville over here is very quick to feed New York City into the wood.

00:06:34.680 Let me say, let me say, let me say for our massive million of us, that'll be that'll

00:06:39.240 be fine.

00:06:40.120 I'm sorry.

00:06:41.280 For our massive tri-state audience, I'm not willing to just let let you be voted off the

00:06:46.800 island of sanity so quickly.

00:06:48.660 OK, I understand what Clay's saying.

00:06:51.220 It is that the left should get what they want and get it, you know, long and hard.

00:06:54.580 They should have to really deal with the reality of their choices and what the Democrat

00:06:59.580 Party has become.

00:07:00.660 I still have, as you know, family in Manhattan.

00:07:03.300 Half my family lives in Manhattan.

00:07:04.800 I'm going to see them next week.

00:07:06.540 I'll be in Manhattan next week.

00:07:08.540 So I'll be able to come back and report from the front lines for those who are concerned

00:07:13.620 about the trajectory of the city.

00:07:15.640 There are some decently positive things that are happening in New York right now.

00:07:20.440 NYPD is on a pretty good footing.

00:07:22.460 Commissioner Tish, whom I worked with briefly in the NYPD myself, she's doing a good job.

00:07:27.960 She's a good manager, understands the ins and outs of running a 40 something thousand 1.00

00:07:34.880 person department, which is how big the NYPD is.

00:07:37.400 It's the size of a lot of countries standing armies.

00:07:40.280 So it's a it's a big job.

00:07:42.280 She's doing a good job with it.

00:07:44.740 Will.

00:07:45.680 So here's the question, Clay.

00:07:47.440 Will it be a situation where the Democrats, if Mom Donnie wins, the Democrats will rally 0.97

00:07:56.480 behind him as a new standard bearer or will they be able to silo this off a bit and say

00:08:02.880 that's New York.

00:08:04.400 You know, he's he's the guy for them because not everybody in the Democrat Party is happy

00:08:09.300 about this guy becoming.

00:08:11.160 You know, it's it's let's be honest, this is male AOC as mayor of New York.

00:08:16.180 That's what this guy is is effectively politically.

00:08:18.380 It would be like AOC is a dude and is now running, which, you know, is running New York

00:08:24.560 City.

00:08:24.780 That would be the mayor Mom Donnie administration. 0.84

00:08:29.000 I'm not sure all the Democrats want that.

00:08:31.380 So there might be some political upside to it.

00:08:33.880 For I think that that, oh, I think this would win the house and I do feel sorry for all

00:08:40.740 of you that I am sacrificing in the W.O.R.

00:08:43.820 Sorry, as he as he pushes your head, he's in his rowboat, he's in the lifeboat and he's

00:08:48.540 pushing New York's head underwater.

00:08:50.060 I will not allow this New York.

00:08:51.380 I got a fellow New Yorkers.

00:08:52.860 It's a little bit like the Hunger Games where sometimes as a tribute, you have to sacrifice

00:08:58.220 yourself for the betterment of the of the betterment of the of the contest.

00:09:04.160 I think that Mom Donnie, here's why I think that this could be so effective as well, Buck.

00:09:09.320 This is where you take advantage of there being no real head of the Democrat Party, because 0.94

00:09:13.520 if we have a crazy governor on the Republican side or if we have a crazy senator or crazy 0.96

00:09:19.240 congressman and guess what? 0.94

00:09:20.760 We got all three, right?

00:09:22.740 Every party does.

00:09:24.520 Trump is the head of the party.

00:09:26.000 So you can't really say, oh, you know, the new head of the Republic.

00:09:29.900 Like, Trump has taken up all of the oxygen.

00:09:33.680 He is the face of the Republican Party.

00:09:36.500 You can't make someone else the face of the Republican Party.

00:09:40.400 Who's the face of the Democrat Party right now?

00:09:42.900 It's certainly not Hakeem Jeffries.

00:09:44.680 It's not Chuck Schumer.

00:09:46.980 It's not even Gavin Newsom's trying to fill that void.

00:09:49.820 I don't think it's him.

00:09:50.540 It's not J.B. Pritzker.

00:09:51.540 It's not Gretchen Whitmer.

00:09:52.500 It's not Josh Shapiro.

00:09:55.920 They're certainly not Mayor Pete.

00:09:57.940 It's not Joe Biden.

00:09:59.180 It's not even Kamala Harris.

00:10:00.380 I think Republicans can make Momdani the face of the Republican Party 0.53

00:10:06.360 and might, a Democrat Party, might well, Buck, be able to wed, 1.00

00:10:11.000 as you just said, Momdani and AOC.

00:10:14.200 We always talk about California liberals.

00:10:17.080 What about New York communists?

00:10:19.080 Instead of running against California liberals,

00:10:21.640 New York communists is a lot more of a negative associational value

00:10:25.920 for most people nationwide.

00:10:27.280 And so I'm sitting around, there's this obsession right now

00:10:31.520 with Republicans trying to save Democrats from the consequences

00:10:35.840 of their choice in the primary.

00:10:37.880 Why?

00:10:39.120 Why should we not just sit back and let them take themselves

00:10:44.020 over the woke waterfall?

00:10:46.200 It's a problem, I think, that you could look at through the prism

00:10:49.900 of Los Angeles and San Francisco and really all the Pacific Northwest cities,

00:10:56.060 Portland, Seattle, where they have really gone after less so in L.A.,

00:11:01.580 maybe, but in the other places for sure, San Fran for sure,

00:11:05.300 Momdani policies for many years.

00:11:08.520 And I don't think it's been a huge, the huge drag on the Democrat Party

00:11:13.700 that we would hope for.

00:11:15.500 I mean, even look at, look at who is, you ask who the standard bearer

00:11:18.340 is of the Democrat Party right now?

00:11:19.560 I think it's Gavin Newsom.

00:11:20.540 At this moment in time, I think he is right now.

00:11:25.200 I think he could get pushed off that pedestal pretty quickly,

00:11:29.720 but I think Gavin Newsom is the National Democrat of the moment.

00:11:34.760 The fact that he's willing to go on a big right-leaning podcast,

00:11:39.920 the fact that he's been willing to debate, he debated Hannity, right?

00:11:42.860 Well, he debated DeSantis on Hannity.

00:11:46.340 Yeah, yeah, so I was trying to remember.

00:11:48.180 He debated DeSantis on Hannity.

00:11:50.440 He loves the media.

00:11:52.420 He loves the attention, obviously.

00:11:55.060 So I think that he's the guy.

00:11:57.160 And so the mismanagement, here's my point,

00:12:00.260 the mismanagement of California has not delivered the wins

00:12:05.540 that we would want to see necessarily at the national level.

00:12:08.040 I'm not sure what happened in New York either.

00:12:09.980 To be honest with you, de Blasio was horrible,

00:12:13.940 and they went with only a slightly less horrible Eric Adams.

00:12:18.200 Yeah, is there a part of me that feels like the Democrat electorate of New York

00:12:21.280 hasn't suffered enough?

00:12:22.240 Sure.

00:12:22.780 But New York is a place with, if you win New York City,

00:12:26.980 or if you win it by enough, you're basically winning it at the state level too.

00:12:30.900 So I would rather Democrats have to play a little more defense in their home state

00:12:34.980 than just completely radicalize the whole thing

00:12:37.940 and turn it into fully East Coast California.

00:12:41.000 Because remember, we've got Long Island.

00:12:42.400 There are some places of sanity.

00:12:44.000 Our Long Island listeners are pumping their fists in the air.

00:12:46.100 They know what's up.

00:12:47.300 No, look, Staten Island certainly is not voting for this insanity.

00:12:51.320 And New York was closer in the 2024 presidential election

00:12:55.920 than Florida or Texas were.

00:12:58.180 New York was closer to being a red state than Texas or Florida were to being blue states.

00:13:05.700 I think this would actually open the door for Elise Stefanik next year in the governor's race. 1.00

00:13:10.900 I think if you asked Elise Stefanik and you said,

00:13:13.420 hey, I get it, like Eric Adams or Cuomo would be a better choice for the city.

00:13:18.960 What motivates Republican turnout more?

00:13:21.780 For a communist New York City mayor upstate, do people show up and say,

00:13:26.640 oh my goodness, we can't have Kathy Hochul back again? 1.00

00:13:29.700 I think it might.

00:13:30.920 And I certainly think it would be impactful in the House of Representatives

00:13:33.960 to be able to run against him nationwide.

00:13:36.300 So a part of me, I'm sorry, New York.

00:13:38.360 A part of me is thinking, hey, maybe we keep the life vest inside of the boat

00:13:43.920 and you guys have to swim for sure.

00:13:46.540 When Clay was an undergrad at GW and all the New York, New Jersey,

00:13:50.780 and Connecticut GW folks were like,

00:13:54.140 Clay, did you grow up playing a banjo?

00:13:56.520 Clay, were you in Civil War reenactments?

00:13:58.940 Like they must have been fascinated because there were not a lot,

00:14:01.640 as we've discussed, not a lot of Tennesseans going to GW.

00:14:04.940 So I think Clay is having a little fun,

00:14:06.620 a little fun at the expense of our tri-state family here.

00:14:10.620 I'm just going to save the country,

00:14:12.340 but it might mean that some of you have to drown.

00:14:14.700 I'm just saying every now and then it's like,

00:14:16.960 what's the great debate that they have?

00:14:20.500 Would you shove one person in front of a train if it missed?

00:14:23.460 This is the ethics debate. 0.95

00:14:24.920 Would you kill one person to save a million

00:14:26.700 and the class gets all fired up about it? 0.99

00:14:29.040 Sure.

00:14:29.400 Yes.

00:14:30.140 Yeah.

00:14:30.440 Sorry, New York.

00:14:31.080 You're that person.

00:14:31.540 Maybe we could.

00:14:32.380 I think we could pull New York into the rowboat.

00:14:34.480 All right.

00:14:34.780 I'm not going to be Rose and let Jack go into the depths

00:14:39.800 with the Titanic freezing.

00:14:41.760 You know, I'm actually going to pull him up on the door with me.

00:14:45.480 You know, come on, Rose.

00:14:47.000 There was space on that door.

00:14:48.580 There was.

00:14:49.380 I'll tell you something.

00:14:50.000 Rose could have saved Jack.

00:14:51.440 Home invasions.

00:14:52.580 Everyone's worst nightmare.

00:14:53.820 How do you protect yourself and your family?

00:16:35.600 Welcome back in, Clay Travis, Buck Sexton Show.

00:16:40.480 All right, we got a bunch of reactions pouring in

00:16:43.060 to my suggestion that we should abandon New York City

00:16:45.480 and let them have to deal with their communist mayor 0.76

00:16:48.880 and that that will be actually beneficial for next year's midterms,

00:16:52.980 which are more substantial,

00:16:54.200 and also a lot of governor's races.

00:16:56.020 I think that Elise Stefanik would be far more likely 0.97

00:16:58.240 to win the governorship of New York State,

00:17:01.260 and I'm saying I believe she's officially announced.

00:17:03.240 Let me know if she is not.

00:17:04.300 I know she's the most prominent candidate 0.93

00:17:05.680 that has been much talked about.

00:17:07.900 Buck, a lot of people weighing in.

00:17:09.460 Bob says, sorry, Buck, I'm with Clay on this one.

00:17:12.980 New York had a nice run, but enough already.

00:17:16.200 Damon says, if Mom Donnie becomes mayor of New York City,

00:17:20.220 Clay should be forced to live in the Bronx 0.92

00:17:22.040 for the duration of Mom Donnie's term in office.

00:17:24.320 Hey, maybe I could be neighbors with AOC.

00:17:29.200 Did it AOC?

00:17:30.060 I mean, I'll go out to Westchester.

00:17:32.340 AOC, if AOC could be a Bronx girl and grow up in Westchester, 1.00

00:17:36.580 there's a lot of really nice places in West Scarsdale.

00:17:39.480 Very nice.

00:17:40.460 From Franklin to Westchester is actually pretty easy transition.

00:17:45.620 You wouldn't feel that different.

00:17:46.740 I mean, different politics.

00:17:47.780 Maybe I could live next to the Clintons in Chappaqua?

00:17:51.920 Chappaqua.

00:17:53.020 Chappaqua.

00:17:53.700 It's different because Chappaquiddick is where Kennedy killed the girl, right?

00:17:56.820 Chappaqua is where the Clintons live right now.

00:17:59.640 Bill says, for decades,

00:18:01.360 communists have been joining the Democrat Party,

00:18:03.740 watching Mom Donnie's warm welcome by mainstream Dems

00:18:07.080 and their failure to condemn his most radical positions.

00:18:10.180 Now apparent party is joining the communists.

00:18:13.260 Here's Don as well.

00:18:14.900 I live in all three New York, state, city, and county.

00:18:17.320 I very much enjoyed listening to Buck at the New York City Republican Club

00:18:21.320 last November.

00:18:22.040 By the way, I may not get an invite to the New York City Republican Club

00:18:24.800 like Buck did after this take.

00:18:26.680 I don't know.

00:18:26.880 I could probably sneak you in.

00:18:28.300 I know some people, but they're not loving what you're saying right now,

00:18:31.380 pushing them underwater.

00:18:32.880 But Don says, but, always a but here, I'm with Clay on this.

00:18:38.240 I've been saying this since the primary.

00:18:40.340 I want Mom Donnie to be the next mayor 0.99

00:18:42.320 and watch all those people who hate me, 0.95

00:18:44.460 the guilt-ridden, self-righteously arrogant, over-educated, 0.93

00:18:48.500 snot-nosed elites of the liberal intelligentsia, 0.94

00:18:51.560 foam at the mouth, and total apoplexy.

00:18:54.920 Almost as much fun as watching The View.

00:18:57.660 Also, remember, the mayor of New York City can't do all that he suggests.

00:19:00.660 New York State legislature must pass many of these bills.

00:19:04.140 So, guys, what do you think?

00:19:06.480 Now, we also have a couple of callers that want to weigh in

00:19:09.840 that might, or talkbacks.

00:19:11.260 Let's take, let's do the talkbacks.

00:19:13.240 Yeah, let's do some talkbacks.

00:19:14.160 Bill in New Jersey, E-E-W-O-R listener, what do you got?

00:19:18.120 Clay Buck, Bill in New Jersey.

00:19:19.960 I am here in the Metro New York area.

00:19:22.540 I look out the window, and there is the skyline.

00:19:25.480 New York deserves whatever it votes for.

00:19:27.800 Clearly, they did not learn the lessons of de Blasio.

00:19:31.240 If they put in this guy, Mom Donnie, they deserve whatever they get.

00:19:36.460 I personally have not gone into the city in years, and I refuse to.

00:19:40.880 I will not spend my hard-earned money in a communist hole.

00:19:45.880 Wow, Nat from New York City, also one of our great WOR listeners.

00:19:51.340 He's not so happy with me.

00:19:52.780 I am so disappointed in the man from Franklin, Tennessee, 1.00

00:19:57.760 making this stupid argument. 1.00

00:20:01.440 Once New York City goes communist, it is done. 1.00

00:20:06.800 It is a ridiculous argument.

00:20:10.180 You gain nothing by giving in territory to the enemy. 0.97

00:20:14.880 You have to attack.

00:20:17.580 I love that caller.

00:20:19.480 I love that caller.

00:20:20.840 That's the spirit of New York right there.

00:20:23.360 That's calling in, I guarantee you, Brooklyn.

00:20:26.160 He's calling in from Brooklyn, and he loves it.

00:20:28.980 He loves New York City, and he's not going down without a fight.

00:20:32.500 I got to say, is that Bernie Sanders?

00:20:34.620 Is he a secret listener?

00:20:35.880 Is that Bernie playing both sides of the equation here?

00:20:39.440 That sounds a little bit like Bernie.

00:20:40.720 That's not a Bernie.

00:20:41.380 That's not a Bernie Sanders.

00:20:42.140 Oh, that sounded Bernie to me.

00:20:43.440 That's not Bernie.

00:20:44.400 A little bit Mark Levin.

00:20:45.820 A little bit Mark Levin there.

00:20:47.320 More Mr. Esteemed Levin, yes, but definitely not.

00:20:53.160 Bernie's down here.

00:20:56.080 He's got this sort of low.

00:20:57.660 He's got the Brooklyn, but he talks down in this register, and he will really lean in

00:21:05.640 on certain words like the oligarchs.

00:21:09.560 You know what I mean?

00:21:10.440 You got to just get that beat going.

00:21:12.500 Bernie might be your best, I have to say.

00:21:15.020 Fauci is good.

00:21:15.800 Bernie might be the best.

00:21:16.620 If you're out there and you're saying, okay, yes, Mom Donnie might be an issue, but how

00:21:21.700 much panic is there?

00:21:23.720 Elizabeth Warren is now saying, yeah, Mom Donnie, he's a little too far for me.

00:21:29.680 This is not the way we should talk.

00:21:31.960 Cut five.

00:21:32.820 Again, make him the face of the Democrat Party for the midterms.

00:21:37.500 Here's Elizabeth Warren, Pocahontas herself, trying to distance herself from some of the 1.00

00:21:43.000 arguments Mom Donnie has made because they're too far left wing and crazy. 1.00

00:21:47.020 Cut five.

00:21:47.520 This is not the way we should talk.

00:21:51.640 If this encourages violence in any way, then I am opposed to it.

00:21:56.740 I am a no violence person.

00:21:59.240 I think it's a very, very bad idea.

00:22:01.300 But let's be clear.

00:22:03.020 Mom Donnie ran this race because he said, I can make government work for better for families

00:22:09.560 on the ground, I'm willing to try new ideas to bring down costs for people who live in

00:22:16.180 New York City.

00:22:16.800 And I understand that big time investors are freaking out about that because they can't

00:22:24.340 quite understand how somebody is going to maybe make it to be mayor without having come

00:22:31.140 and bent a knee to them.

00:22:33.360 Okay.

00:22:34.920 First of all, I love that she said I'm opposed.

00:22:37.800 Is there anybody who's ever said, hey, you know what we need?

00:22:40.780 More death and destruction.

00:22:42.400 I love that she starts off by saying I'm a no violence person.

00:22:45.460 Yes.

00:22:45.800 Oh, congratulations.

00:22:46.960 Yes.

00:22:47.200 We also are very opposed to murder.

00:22:49.480 She's very quick led with that. 0.98

00:22:51.680 She's very quick to bury the hatchet and stay off the war path, which we appreciate here. 0.99

00:22:55.940 But I will say that I think she has to distance herself from Mom Donnie the commie because otherwise

00:23:04.860 the two race hoaxters would be lumped together. 0.93

00:23:10.680 Remember, he pretended to be black. 0.96

00:23:13.240 Yeah.

00:23:13.480 She pretended to be Native American and it worked for her. 0.98

00:23:17.120 So she can't be too closely associated with this Mom Donnie guy because all of a sudden

00:23:21.620 it's going to be Elizabeth Warren posing as a Pocahontas. 1.00

00:23:26.160 And mom, it did was his middle name was always Kwame or did he change his name to Kwame for

00:23:32.620 the purposes of admission? 0.98

00:23:33.620 But my understanding, having I legitimately researched this moron's name, Kwame is not 0.98

00:23:39.780 a South Indian South South Asian rather name. 0.96

00:23:42.940 So I know how the dad named him after the leader of Uganda who was named Kwame.

00:23:49.720 So his name is Zoran Kwame Mom Donnie, which is why I think no what nobody else is that I've

00:23:57.040 heard has pointed this out.

00:23:58.100 This is clearly why he put black African-American on the Columbia application because he thought

00:24:06.120 they would see, oh, how many Indian, maybe there's one listening right now.

00:24:10.900 Are there any white, Asian, or Hispanic men listening right now who are named Kwame?

00:24:18.760 I would submit that that is like, if you see the name Kwame, you're like, that's a black 1.00

00:24:23.100 guy's name.

00:24:23.820 He knew what he was trying to do.

00:24:25.640 He was trying to pretend to be black to get into Columbia because he thought it helped 0.97

00:24:30.420 him.

00:24:31.060 His middle name, a team in New York, you can look this up.

00:24:33.780 My reading on this was that his dad named him after the leader, middle named him after

00:24:39.320 the leader of Uganda at the time.

00:24:42.660 And so the Kwame is in honor of whoever the Ugandan leader was because the guy's only Kwame, Mom 0.61

00:24:49.880 Donnie's only like 33 years old, right?

00:24:52.000 I mean, he's super young on top of all these other things.

00:24:54.700 He's never, well, so is it Kwame Nkrumah, who was the president of Ghana, but the prominent

00:25:04.940 figure in the first Pan-African movement?

00:25:09.040 So not specific to Uganda, but I believe we can track this one down.

00:25:13.680 It will be Kwame Nkrumah, who was a Pan-African nationalist, if you will, that, yeah, because

00:25:23.180 that when you think Uganda, the leaders of Uganda have been, it's been a pretty, you know,

00:25:28.100 Idi Amin is the most famous, which is not a good thing.

00:25:30.680 It's been a rough, it's been a rough go with the Uganda leader specifically.

00:25:33.420 Yeah, I will readily acknowledge that my knowledge of African leadership is not at a high level.

00:25:38.960 Have you seen Last King of Scotland, by the way?

00:25:40.760 It's a great movie.

00:25:41.740 Great, okay.

00:25:42.280 I was going to say, you and Laura, top of the list.

00:25:44.160 I keep giving you guys great records.

00:25:45.700 You never watch them, but that's okay.

00:25:47.040 I'm glad you've really started seeing that.

00:25:48.620 I don't watch anything except what my kids put on, which is why I've only been watching

00:25:53.340 Outer Banks of late, which is a great, fun, ridiculous show to watch with your teenagers,

00:26:00.000 if you've got 13, 14, 15-year-olds.

00:26:02.700 I bet producer Ali has watched Outer Banks.

00:26:05.500 I would bet that she has.

00:26:06.780 I bet nobody else.

00:26:07.460 It is Kwame Nkrumah, the Ghanaian pan-Africanist leader, which reflects his father's, I mean,

00:26:17.840 this guy is really, it's like if you were creating a sort of multiculturalist and globalist

00:26:26.820 resume for somebody, this guy, the communist mom, Donnie, has it.

00:26:31.900 I mean, this is what you're, is definitely similar to what you saw with the construction

00:26:36.700 of Obama.

00:26:38.140 I'm sure, I'm sure that, sorry, Zoran, I don't think anyone calls him Kwame, Zoran is looking

00:26:48.500 at the Obama playbook on a lot of this stuff with the way that he's positioning himself

00:26:52.320 politically.

00:26:52.780 Let me ask you this as we go to break, and you guys out there listening may be able to

00:26:57.100 come up with some examples.

00:26:58.940 How many times has Elizabeth Warren, not when she was running for president, right?

00:27:03.500 Because when you're running for president, you have to attack the other people running

00:27:06.560 for president.

00:27:07.320 How many times has she attacked a Democrat publicly when she wasn't running for the office and

00:27:13.880 competing with them?

00:27:15.080 This is kind of unheard of for Democrat to turn on another Democrat.

00:27:18.660 This is how nervous I think they are.

00:27:20.820 Because you can say a lot about Elizabeth Warren, but she has a lot of connections to Wall

00:27:25.400 Street big investors.

00:27:26.940 I know she tries to pretend that she cares about the little person and everything else.

00:27:30.640 She's actually very plugged in with elite left-wing Wall Street donors. 0.98

00:27:35.860 And I think that's where this pressure is coming from, because the guy's a communist.

00:27:39.520 And we need to have some fun with his plan on the grocery stores.

00:27:43.440 His plan to save everybody money on the grocery stores, it reads like your kid's plan, except

00:27:51.400 less logical when it comes to selling lemonade out on the corner in the neighborhood.

00:27:55.780 I mean, this is...

00:27:56.560 Elizabeth Warren, the progressive leftist, all that stuff. 0.87

00:28:03.400 She's worth $12 million, personally. 0.60

00:28:07.580 Yeah.

00:28:08.000 So, that's the thing.

00:28:09.000 She's not struggling.

00:28:10.100 It turns out, it's really easy to be all about collectivism and the government taking from

00:28:16.580 other people when you've already amassed the $12 million fortune, which you could easily

00:28:21.100 live a very comfortable life just off of the annualized interest of that in a high-yield

00:28:27.680 interest account or a standard mutual fund.

00:28:30.740 I'm not giving financial advice here, but this is not a $12 million in the bank.

00:28:34.960 And I know they'd say, oh, well, that's probably real estate and stuff, too.

00:28:37.480 But the point is, she's rich. 0.96

00:28:39.320 Elizabeth Warren's rich, going around talking about the... 1.00

00:28:41.980 But there's...

00:28:42.960 I made my money by getting overpaid for books that nobody read and doing consulting that

00:28:48.920 nobody needed because I'm a Democrat professor rich.

00:28:53.440 And then there's starting a company and selling it for a billion dollars rich.

00:28:57.500 So, even somebody who's worth $10 million, one can exploit class envy, which Elizabeth Warren 1.00

00:29:03.480 has built her entire career on, and two, have some of their own class envy, truly. 1.00

00:29:08.340 You know, Bernie Sanders, a socialist with three houses.

00:29:13.140 It's amazing how that works, isn't it?

00:29:14.660 Isn't that...

00:29:15.480 I don't have...

00:29:16.080 I have one house, and I'm not a socialist.

00:29:18.000 How do I get to be a socialist with three houses?

00:29:20.140 That sounds like fun.

00:29:21.640 All right.

00:29:22.000 Save yourself money.

00:29:23.160 Speaking of money, on a service that you have to use every day, your cell phone.

00:29:27.240 When you switch your cell phone service from AT&T, Verizon, or T-Mobile to PureTalk, you're

00:29:32.500 immediately saving hundreds of dollars a year without sacrificing quality.

00:29:36.180 I switched from one of those companies to PureTalk myself several years ago and can tell

00:29:39.660 you firsthand the service is top quality.

00:29:42.500 $25 a month for unlimited talk, text, and plenty of data is a great price point.

00:29:47.380 Little known secret in the cell phone industry, but I want to tell it to you.

00:29:50.280 PureTalk uses the same 5G network, same 5G towers as one of those three companies I mentioned.

00:29:55.260 You get the same quality of service at a fraction of the price.

00:29:58.720 With PureTalk, you can keep your phone and your number from your cell phone, dial pound

00:30:37.360 He's a busy man.

00:30:38.400 We'll be calling him in the meantime.

00:30:41.100 But we had President Trump just now.

00:30:44.660 Let's not play the audio.

00:30:45.960 Apparently, the audio is so low quality that for all of you listening all across this country

00:30:49.720 of ours, it'd be tough to make it out.

00:30:51.340 I'll just tell you, he was asked about, by a reporter, would you consider appointing a

00:30:58.520 special counsel to investigate the Epstein investigation that just happened?

00:31:04.360 And President Trump responded, I have nothing to do with it.

00:31:07.880 So, I think it is very, very unlikely that that will happen.

00:31:13.480 I've heard some people saying that that's what they would like to happen here.

00:31:17.240 Some commentators out there.

00:31:19.440 Clay, as far as I can see it, there would have to be some reason for a special counsel,

00:31:26.680 and the reason is generally that there's a conflict of interest.

00:31:30.140 And so, now you would be appointing a special counsel because you'd be saying, I can't be

00:31:39.440 trusted, my administration can't be trusted, the DOJ, to handle this internally.

00:31:44.760 To me, you're just creating more problems.

00:31:47.120 I don't see why that would be helpful at all.

00:31:50.280 And I think Trump is, there's almost no chance in my mind he's going to go through with something

00:31:54.460 like that.

00:31:55.460 Well, I think you can just go to the precedent of the first Trump administration.

00:31:58.600 I think a lot of people would say they got knocked off their feet by his frustration

00:32:04.500 with his first attorney general, Sessions.

00:32:08.560 I think I'm remembering that correctly, right?

00:32:10.400 The former Alabama senator who was Trump's first attorney general, not being willing to

00:32:16.500 just say, hey, there's nothing to this Russia collusion allegation.

00:32:20.320 Instead, you had the step back, hey, I've got a conflict, I can't look at this.

00:32:26.200 Here's the other challenge that I would say.

00:32:28.720 So, I tweet about this a little bit.

00:32:30.440 To me, the solution is pretty simple.

00:32:33.900 You need to have AG, Pam Bondi, and Kash Patel have a joint press conference, answer every

00:32:38.820 question that you possibly can on it.

00:32:41.680 And by the way, we're waiting on Alan Dershowitz.

00:32:45.180 But I thought, and so then, you kind of draw the line there.

00:32:49.380 I think the challenge is how many people out there are going to say, hey, I now trust the

00:32:59.440 decision that was rendered by the independent counsel if it endorses the decisions made before

00:33:06.320 by Pam Bondi and Kash Patel.

00:33:09.340 And by the way, I do think the political aspect of this, okay, we've got Alan Dershowitz with

00:33:14.660 us now.

00:33:16.040 And Professor Dershowitz, we appreciate you joining us.

00:33:19.200 We read some of your editorial yesterday in the Wall Street Journal.

00:33:23.840 And I just want to start with this question, because probably the number one question that

00:33:28.160 this audience has before we dive into a few others.

00:33:30.940 You wrote about it in the editorial.

00:33:32.900 Elon Musk said Trump is in the Epstein files, this larger Epstein universe of investigation.

00:33:39.740 You say that is not true, based on what you know as the defense attorney for Jeffrey Epstein

00:33:46.760 for many years.

00:33:48.740 What is Trump's role or involvement in any way in this larger context?

00:33:54.240 There's no evidence that Trump is accused of having done anything improper, wrong, sexual.

00:34:00.880 Donald Trump knew Jeffrey Epstein in Palm Beach.

00:34:05.560 They hung out together.

00:34:06.420 He said some nice things about him in an article for Vanity Fair.

00:34:11.540 And then they got into a fight, either over a real estate matter or about an impropriety

00:34:17.320 of Epstein in relation to the daughter of one of the guests at Mar-a-Lago.

00:34:22.020 And their relationship terminated.

00:34:23.980 Of course, he's in the files.

00:34:26.080 Half the people in Palm Beach are in the files.

00:34:29.260 I'm in the files.

00:34:30.440 Of course, I flew on his airplane.

00:34:31.760 I was his lawyer.

00:34:32.460 All of his lawyers flew on the airplane, but I never flew with anybody who was young

00:34:38.060 or underage or anything like that.

00:34:40.120 So there's a big confusion about the file.

00:34:43.480 The file contains so many people, thousands and thousands and thousands of innocent people.

00:34:51.060 And then there's the accusation.

00:34:53.160 So there are two issues as to the accusation.

00:34:55.880 There is no client list.

00:34:58.060 Let's be very clear.

00:34:59.960 Jeffrey Epstein never compiled a list of people to whom he allegedly trafficked any young woman.

00:35:07.060 It just doesn't exist.

00:35:08.220 It never existed.

00:35:09.620 And I've never said it existed.

00:35:12.280 Nobody I know has ever said it existed.

00:35:14.240 Nobody has ever seen it.

00:35:15.580 What there is is this.

00:35:16.960 The FBI interviewed some of the alleged victims.

00:35:20.200 And the alleged victims named some people.

00:35:23.720 And those names have been redacted.

00:35:25.600 I know who those people are.

00:35:26.980 There's nobody in current government.

00:35:29.680 There's no Donald Trump.

00:35:31.020 There's no Bill Clinton.

00:35:33.060 I'll give you an example.

00:35:34.660 A woman named Sarah Ransom wrote a series of emails to the New York Post, to Maureen Callahan

00:35:43.180 and the New York Post. 0.85

00:35:44.520 In it, she accused Hillary Clinton, Bill Clinton, and Richard Branson of having underage sex with

00:35:51.680 minors and said she had videos of them.

00:35:53.420 This was in the run-up to the election of 2016.

00:35:56.880 Wow, wow, wow.

00:35:57.680 Big news.

00:35:58.820 So they did an investigation.

00:36:01.240 And this woman, Sarah Ransom, admitted to the New Yorker that she made up the whole story.

00:36:07.540 The whole cloth.

00:36:08.640 She didn't know anybody.

00:36:09.620 She just made up the story because she wanted to have something on Jeffrey Epstein.

00:36:12.800 So that's the kind of thing.

00:36:14.580 You get these kinds of fake accusations.

00:36:18.100 And, of course, the courts don't reveal the fake accusations because they want to protect

00:36:23.200 the so-called victims.

00:36:25.360 Now, Sarah Ransom was not a victim.

00:36:27.120 She's a perpetrator. 0.99

00:36:27.960 She falsely accused people and admitted.

00:36:31.440 But she is being protected.

00:36:34.800 And the people that she accused are not being protected.

00:36:39.000 So that's what is going on here.

00:36:41.560 And that's why some of the courts have been so concerned about revealing half-truths accusations

00:36:48.880 without going and looking at who the accusers are.

00:36:53.060 Professor Dershowitz, on the issue of the allegations, conspiracy, however one wants to frame it,

00:37:00.900 of foreign intelligence contacts, specifically the allegation has been leveled by some pretty big voices out there.

00:37:10.220 You mentioned, I think, in your editorial that this has happened, that they're saying it's Israel,

00:37:16.600 that there's Mossad connection here, and you address that.

00:37:19.860 Could you lay out your case here as a former lawyer for Jeffrey Epstein,

00:37:24.980 why you say the foreign intel thing just doesn't hold water?

00:37:29.680 Well, first, I was also a former lawyer for the Mossad.

00:37:32.460 I represented the Mossad back in the day when five of their agents were arrested in Cyprus.

00:37:38.880 And the Mossad retained me pro bono to represent these five people, and I got them out.

00:37:44.160 I have good sources in Israeli intelligence, and I can tell you with 100% assurance,

00:37:52.560 there's never been any contact between Israeli intelligence or Israel in general and Jeffrey Epstein.

00:38:00.940 He became friendly after all this happened with Ehud Barak, the former prime minister.

00:38:06.100 They did business dealings together.

00:38:07.540 But there's never been any contact with intelligence, and the former prime minister of Israel, Bennett,

00:38:15.300 looked into it again and stated on behalf of Israel, basically, that there's no truth to it at all.

00:38:21.520 And this is logical.

00:38:22.700 It would be impossible.

00:38:23.780 If he had worked for any intelligence agency, Mossad, CIA, any agency, who's the first person he would have told?

00:38:31.540 His lawyers, me.

00:38:32.580 And the other lawyers, when we were trying to get a good deal for him, the best thing we could have had going for us is,

00:38:38.660 oh, my God, the guy worked for an intelligence agency.

00:38:40.880 Leave him alone.

00:38:42.040 He never told us that, and quite the opposite.

00:38:44.520 He denied any information that would be helpful to him along those lines.

00:38:49.780 So it's a completely made-up story.

00:38:51.760 Now, I know the reason for the made-up story.

00:38:53.860 The made-up story had the following basis.

00:38:56.200 His former girlfriend, Ghislaine Maxwell, is now in prison's father, Robert Maxwell, who was a publisher in England,

00:39:03.300 may well have had some connections to the Mossad.

00:39:06.600 And so Tucker Carlson probably said, oh, my God, if his girlfriend's father had connections, he probably did too.

00:39:14.280 But then Tucker Carlson goes further and says, everybody in Washington knows, everybody in Washington knows that he worked for the Mossad.

00:39:22.520 That's just blatant bigotry.

00:39:24.280 And it's just wrong, and it's just not credible, and he ought to take that back.

00:39:30.580 Nobody in Washington knows that.

00:39:32.500 The CIA doesn't know it.

00:39:33.780 The White House doesn't know it.

00:39:35.240 I don't know anybody credible who believes that Jeffrey Epstein would have been hired by the Mossad or by the CIA.

00:39:44.740 It's absurd.

00:39:45.880 A lot of people point to the initial prosecution.

00:39:48.640 You were the defense attorney for Jeffrey Epstein that was called a, quote, sweetheart deal.

00:39:54.740 You say Epstein was actually upset with the deal that he got.

00:39:58.580 How does that deal compare to you, to other criminal defendants?

00:40:03.140 Was it a sweetheart deal that he got initially?

00:40:06.120 No.

00:40:06.280 In fact, it was a worse deal.

00:40:07.740 What we did is we did a complete analysis of every single case that was comparable.

00:40:13.060 And remember, the only thing he was charged with, the only thing he was charged with, was having sexual contact, not sexual intercourse, sexual contact massages with two women.

00:40:24.000 One way above the age of consent, but for money, so it was a crime.

00:40:30.420 And the other, I think three or four months below the age of consent, 17 and a half years old.

00:40:36.660 That's it.

00:40:37.380 We did a thorough analysis.

00:40:39.160 I did that analysis personally of every case in Broward County and Palm Beach County and Miami and Dade County of people who were charged with that kind of thing.

00:40:49.640 Not a single one of them got any prison time.

00:40:52.420 So we went to the people in charge and we said, you know, fair is fair.

00:40:59.720 Let's give him a sentence that corresponds to pre-pass sentences.

00:41:03.880 Ultimately, we worked out a deal where he'd be sentenced to 18 months in jail and he'd have to register as a sex offender.

00:41:12.940 Epstein was furious at that.

00:41:14.740 He fired me, wouldn't pay my legal fee, thought I was a terrible lawyer because I got him such a bad deal.

00:41:21.100 So, you know, I thought it was a pretty good deal.

00:41:24.200 And as a result of that deal, by the way, that's how the feds got involved because the police officials in Palm Beach County thought they could do better.

00:41:34.380 So they went to the.

00:41:35.060 Well, they thought Professor Dershowitz, they thought there was a lot of others.

00:41:38.020 I mean, there were a lot of other allegations of more serious stuff that were out there.

00:41:42.160 That certainly came to light later.

00:41:44.060 That's right.

00:41:44.680 But he was not charged with any of that.

00:41:46.520 Right.

00:41:46.680 So he pleaded guilty.

00:41:47.940 The only things he's ever pleaded guilty to are these two charges involving a 17-year-old and I don't remember, 21 or 22-year-old, something like that.

00:41:56.660 But those are the only things he was ever charged with until later.

00:42:00.820 And then years later, I was not his lawyer.

00:42:04.040 After that, I stopped being his lawyer once this was over.

00:42:06.980 The first case was over.

00:42:08.380 He was charged with a lot, lot, lot more.

00:42:10.860 By the way, the reason that he was charged with a state case, not a federal case, back in 2006, because they had no proof that he had ever taken women across state lines.

00:42:20.480 All the young people that he had any contact with were from Palm Beach.

00:42:24.520 These were mostly teenagers who worked in what were called, I had never heard this term before, but I learned it when I was doing the investigation, whack shacks.

00:42:36.920 They were places in the West Palm Beach where you'd go and pay $100 and you'd get a happy ending massage.

00:42:46.300 And so Epstein would go and his people would go and they'd go to these young girls who were making $100 and said, you know, we know a guy who'll give you $200 if you do the same thing.

00:43:00.180 And that's how it started.

00:43:01.880 So it was all local and they couldn't get him on federal charge because it's not a crime to pay for sex locally.

00:43:09.740 It's not a federal crime.

00:43:11.020 It's a state crime.

00:43:11.800 So we pleaded to that state crime.

00:43:13.560 We're talking to Professor Alan Dershowitz.

00:43:15.380 I put up a poll, 70% of people who responded to that poll said they believe that Kash Patel, Pam Bondi, Donald Trump are lying about what's in the Epstein case in front of them right now.

00:43:30.440 I imagine that those same 70% are going to say, well, of course, Alan Dershowitz is going to lie now, too.

00:43:37.940 What should happen?

00:43:39.160 What interest would I have in lying?

00:43:42.160 I have no interest in the case at this point.

00:43:44.280 I've been completely cleared and vindicated of anything improper or wrong.

00:43:49.340 I'm just there to try to straighten out the record.

00:43:52.740 I know the facts.

00:43:53.640 I looked at the investigation.

00:43:55.720 What should happen is what I said should have happened from day one.

00:43:59.160 Everything should be revealed.

00:44:00.780 But by everything, I mean not only the accusations, some of which are false.

00:44:04.900 We know that the Sarah Ransom accusations were false.

00:44:07.700 Everything should be revealed, including the negative information about the accusers.

00:44:12.420 And there's lots of negative information about the accusers.

00:44:16.140 Some of the accusers ultimately helped Epstein recruit young women.

00:44:21.500 And so everything should come out.

00:44:24.040 But what shouldn't happen is selective release.

00:44:26.480 That is just the accusations without the negative information about the accusers.

00:44:31.840 That would be unfair.

00:44:33.240 What's fair is to reproduce everything so that the court of public opinion, people can make fair judgment as to who's guilty and who's not.

00:44:41.640 Look, we know the names of people who have been accused.

00:44:45.080 They are some of the most distinguished people.

00:44:47.480 These are public records.

00:44:49.960 George Mitchell, the man who brought about peace in Ireland and peace in the former Yugoslavia, he was accused of having unprotected sex on a half a dozen occasions.

00:45:03.340 Another person was Bill Richardson.

00:45:05.500 That's been made public.

00:45:06.680 He was the former ambassador to the U.N.

00:45:09.160 Another person was Ehud Barak.

00:45:12.200 And so we don't know whether there's any truth to any of these accusations.

00:45:18.380 We know they're out there.

00:45:19.560 And, you know, they've been covered widely in the press.

00:45:22.320 The Miami Herald wrote article after article after article by a totally one-sided and biased journalist who was trying to get the Pulitzer Prize and didn't because her reporting was not accurate. 0.94

00:45:37.360 Last question for you here, and we appreciate the time.

00:45:41.780 Has President Trump asked your advice about what he should do?

00:45:45.200 And just to reiterate, he is not named accused, anything like that, based on everything you've seen?

00:45:51.000 No, no, not at all.

00:45:52.200 I can tell you categorically he's not accused.

00:45:55.300 And, no, he's not sought my advice.

00:45:57.500 I have written my op-ed in the Wall Street Journal.

00:46:00.300 I've talked about it in shows like yours.

00:46:02.700 I'm, you know, right now on a book tour promoting my book, The Preventive State.

00:46:07.860 And so I'm anxious to have television and radio interviews.

00:46:12.060 And while I was on my book tour for The Preventive State, this story broke.

00:46:16.380 And so I've been talking about the story more than I've been talking about my book.

00:46:20.600 Thank you, sir.

00:46:21.300 Chris Gershwitz.

00:46:22.640 Thank you so much.

00:46:23.840 Sure.

00:46:24.940 We'll be right back.

00:47:09.960 Senator Marsha Blackburn of the great state of Tennessee joins us.

00:47:15.100 Senator Blackburn, always good to chat with you.

00:47:17.940 Well, it is so good to chat with you.

00:47:20.580 And of course, we've been a little bit busy here in D.C.

00:47:23.980 Yes, and some good things happening.

00:47:27.300 I think so often in the world of commentary and talk radio, we have to not only point out the serial failings of the Democrats,

00:47:35.740 but try to prod the Republicans to move a little faster or a little further on something.

00:47:40.160 But in this case, I think a little bit of a golf clap may be necessary.

00:47:44.060 A little bit of a high five.

00:47:45.360 The Senate has pushed forward this rescission package.

00:47:49.160 Tell us a bit about what's contained and how does it feel to be able to be a part of the Senate, Senator,

00:47:56.740 as they do something that Republicans have wanted to do for pretty much my entire adult life?

00:48:02.340 Well, you're right about that.

00:48:04.480 And I was looking at something this week.

00:48:07.220 Ronald Reagan started to push to try to defund NPR and the Corporation for Public Broadcast.

00:48:15.360 And, of course, we know that many times they have a very biased view.

00:48:22.240 They are anti-conservative.

00:48:25.640 And you can see it when you go through and look at how they covered the Democrat Convention and the Republican Convention.

00:48:33.180 The Democrat Convention was nearly all positive coverage and the Republican nearly all negative.

00:48:39.040 Taxpayers do not want their funds to be used for the Corporation for Public Broadcast.

00:48:46.200 Addressing that, addressing some of this wasteful spending that has taken place through USAID and the State Department.

00:48:55.760 When you look at vegan food for Zambia, or electric buses in Rwanda, or voter ID programs in Haiti, and the list goes on and on.

00:49:08.080 We could talk for hours of things that we were able to uncover that these agencies were taking their appropriated funds for and spending them on.

00:49:19.040 And taxpayers don't want their hard-earned dollars going for that.

00:49:23.420 So $9 billion out of this year's budget drawing a red line through those discretionary spending items, which is what rescissions are for.

00:49:34.920 And then if you say out of a 10-year budget window, all of that is gone.

00:49:39.260 And that's about $90 billion in savings.

00:49:44.220 We're talking to Senator Marsha Blackburn about all of the successes that are taking place.

00:49:49.780 Trump basically ran on economy, border, crime.

00:49:55.320 It seems like he is delivering on all three of those fronts.

00:49:58.640 And I know sometimes they overlap.

00:50:00.440 So, for instance, the border and crime, we certainly know they're illegal, violent perpetrators of crimes that should be removed from this country.

00:50:07.700 Can you remember – you've been in politics for a little while now.

00:50:12.060 Can you remember a more consequential in terms of delivering results on what someone ran on first six months for a president than what we have seen so far from Trump?

00:50:22.960 Because I can't.

00:50:24.420 I cannot.

00:50:25.880 The way he has really buckled down – and, you know, Clay, we've talked about this a lot in the last week.

00:50:32.880 As we remembered a year ago on Sunday, that assassination attempt, he has been very intentional, very purposeful.

00:50:42.600 He made promises.

00:50:43.960 He has kept those promises.

00:50:46.160 He's dealing with inflation.

00:50:48.000 He is dealing with tariffs.

00:50:49.520 He's dealing with our standing in the world.

00:50:52.300 He has secured that southern border.

00:50:54.800 It is the lowest illegal entry into this country we have ever seen.

00:50:59.560 And we know that he is making certain that things get done.

00:51:06.820 We're rebuilding the military.

00:51:09.680 We are addressing waste, fraud, and abuse in government programs.

00:51:14.520 That is what people voted for.

00:51:16.920 He is delivering, and it is a joy to work with him.

00:51:21.760 And when you see every single day how he is sending power and authority and money back to the states, getting it out of D.C., draining the swamp, which he said he would do, and sending power back to the people, whether it's education or energy or regulations or health care or benefits, and saying, here, let's get it out of D.C.

00:51:47.580 Let's get this money back where it belongs.

00:51:49.900 I think I know I did.

00:51:53.360 When you put out, I think it was a 20-point plan for President Trump as basically the Republican platform for 2024.

00:52:01.280 Correct.

00:52:01.620 It was super succinct.

00:52:03.840 It was very understandable.

00:52:06.340 If you go back and look at that, I think it's very worthwhile maybe to bring that back around to circulate so people can see it.

00:52:12.800 It is one of the most remarkably, hey, I'm going to do this, and then he's delivered on it.

00:52:20.300 And I get sometimes why he's a little bit frustrated because I don't know that we've ever seen anything like that.

00:52:24.920 Lots of politicians say they're going to do things, and then they don't deliver.

00:52:28.060 That's a very transactional document, and he's delivered on virtually every point on that document that you guys put out.

00:52:35.360 You're right about that, and it was a joy to chair that platform committee for him.

00:52:40.200 And he was very much engaged with that and is delivering.

00:52:46.840 And as we did the big, beautiful bill, no tax on tips or overtime, and a provision I have worked on for years, no tax on Social Security.

00:52:56.640 And, of course, we do that by a $6,000 bonus deduction per senior per year.

00:53:04.320 So a couple married filing jointly that are 65 and over, that's $12,000 in bonus income tax deductions for that couple.

00:53:15.300 And that allows them to utilize those funds basically tax-free.

00:53:21.840 But President Trump made these promises.

00:53:24.640 He said this is what we're going to do, and he is delivering on every point.

00:53:30.520 And the American people are responding.

00:53:34.140 You see his polling numbers are better than they have ever been.

00:53:39.460 The Democrats, our friends on the left, have gone so far off the cliff on the left that many of my friends who are independents and Democrats are going,

00:53:49.820 Oh, my goodness, I can't go there with them because of how radical they have become and some of the socialist ideas that they have truly embraced and are promoting.

00:54:06.600 Senator Blackburn, I know you're on the Judiciary Committee, and a very interesting and certainly very qualified nominee just got put through the Senate panel, right?

00:54:18.220 Emile Bove, who had defended President Trump in the past, a former federal prosecutor.

00:54:22.880 I was wondering if you could speak to the level of opposition to somebody who seems to be so eminently qualified for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit from Democrats.

00:54:35.240 That's is, well, why are they so opposed to this one?

00:54:39.600 And then also, just give us a sense as to how the judge confirmation machinery in the Senate is working under Trump's terms so far.

00:54:48.540 Are you getting through the nominees you want to, you need to?

00:54:52.080 How's that all going?

00:54:53.680 Well, we are working on some more today.

00:54:55.860 And earlier this week, we did the first circuit court appointee, and that is Whitney Hermandaufer out of Tennessee.

00:55:06.620 She'll be on the Sixth Circuit.

00:55:08.420 And you're referencing Emile Bovee.

00:55:12.400 And Emile had represented President Trump at one point and had worked with Todd Blanche, and we got him out of committee today.

00:55:21.560 The Democrats were so upset about this, they did not want to approve him because they felt like he had done this, that, or the other wrong.

00:55:31.320 But what they're going to do is nitpick.

00:55:34.720 They're going to try to find something, and something's wrong with everybody and everything that's related to President Donald Trump because they have Trump derangement syndrome.

00:55:46.660 It is alive.

00:55:47.900 It is out there.

00:55:48.920 They are living it, and what we did as the Democrats got up and walked out after the vote had started, we continued the vote, and he was approved, and he has now, he will move to the floor for his confirmation vote.

00:56:08.860 And I hope we vote him very swiftly.

00:56:11.420 Now, the Democrats are trying to hold up every U.S. attorney, every U.S. marshal, every judicial appointment that we have because they want to impair the ability of President Trump's administration to carry out their agenda.

00:56:29.420 So, we are encouraging Senator Grassley to force the issue of moving forward with these nominees.

00:56:43.280 Don't hold them over.

00:56:45.180 Let's just, as we do the hearings, let's move them to the floor so we can get them up for the vote.

00:56:52.420 Vote because the Democrats are calling cloture on every single nominee, which for your circuit judges is 30 hours on the clock, and for the others, and for your U.S. attorneys, it's two hours.

00:57:08.040 So, if they're not going to work with us, we should be working all night, every night, and every weekend until we get people confirmed.

00:57:15.420 We're talking to Marsha Blackburn.

00:57:17.920 I want to finish, Senator from Tennessee.

00:57:20.020 I want to finish with this, and I'm going to be hammering it home because I think there's a lot of New Yorkers listening right now, and I know there's a lot of Californians.

00:57:27.280 Senator Blackburn is the primary reason why there is no state income tax in the state of Tennessee.

00:57:33.040 And for people out there who are looking at Kami Momdami that's coming in in New York City, we've got a pretty good economic environment in the state of Tennessee, wouldn't you suggest?

00:57:41.780 I think we have a great economic environment.

00:57:45.700 You know, Clay, we talk a lot about how leading that fight against the state income tax in Tennessee and killing that thing, that required our state to go through a reset and look at the programs where we were spending money

00:58:01.600 and to actually reduce what we were spending because we didn't have the funds and we have a balanced budget amendment for our state.

00:58:11.400 And I think that the reason you see Tennessee regularly as the number one or two or three or four state for business and relocations and business growth and GDP growth, it is because we are a well-managed state and we have made certain that we will never have a state income tax.

00:58:40.140 We actually now have it as a part of our state constitution.

00:58:45.640 Amen.

00:58:46.280 We'll talk to you again soon.

00:58:47.640 Senator Blackburn, appreciate the work.

00:58:49.620 And we look forward to chatting again soon, maybe about a big announcement.

00:58:53.920 Wouldn't you be amazed by what people can find when it's time to move out of the family home?

00:58:58.440 Going through the process right now here in the Travis House, I don't know when our house is going to be finished,

00:59:03.360 but I do know we have so many different memories stacked up right now, ready to move.

00:59:09.440 And a lot of those are old school, right?

00:59:12.280 Photographs, not digital because we got married right before everything went digital.

00:59:16.840 So we still have some old school.

00:59:18.440 First son was born before everything went fully digital.

00:59:21.660 But how many of you out there have great, incredible family memories that might be generations old?

00:59:27.580 Heck, they might be 100 years old or more that have never been digitized.

00:59:31.620 Maybe they're in grandma's house.

00:59:32.980 Maybe they're in grandpa's house.

00:59:34.160 Maybe there is a keeper of the family history and lore.

00:59:37.060 What would happen if they passed or that just got lost or God forbid you had some sort of fire or a flood or a natural disaster that might destroy some of those family memories?

00:59:47.700 Why not preserve them forever, right now, digitally, with our friends at Legacy Box?
