00:00:00.000 This is an iHeart Podcast.
00:00:02.640 Guaranteed human.
00:00:04.920 We've had zero murders in the last week.
00:00:07.660 Washington was the most dangerous place in this country.
00:00:11.300 And now, you know what?
00:00:12.160 It's probably the safest place in our country.
00:00:14.300 Everyone's starting to come here.
00:00:15.680 The restaurants now, you can't get in.
00:00:17.260 Many of them closed because they couldn't open with crime.
00:00:21.080 Everybody before me is happy what I'm doing.
00:00:23.120 Most of you won't say that because you're radical left.
00:00:25.840 You're listening to the 47 Morning Update with Ben Ferguson.
00:00:29.640 Good Tuesday morning.
00:00:30.780 Nice to have you with us on the 47 Morning Update.
00:00:33.320 We've got two big stories for you coming out of the White House.
00:00:35.840 First up, the White House working now with the House GOP
00:00:39.940 that has just launched a probe into the alleged D.C. crime data manipulation lies
00:00:46.880 from the Democrats claiming that violent crime and crime in general
00:00:51.500 is actually down big time this year.
00:00:54.480 Well, there's now an official probe into it
00:00:57.580 and what they're finding is truly shocking.
00:01:00.760 Also, also, the president's signing an executive order.
00:01:05.240 This time, it deals with cashless bail.
00:01:08.460 It's something Democrats ran on.
00:01:10.800 It was a way to flood the city streets with extreme criminals,
00:01:15.680 not holding them accountable.
00:01:17.360 So what happens next?
00:01:19.000 I'll have that as well.
00:01:20.140 But first, I want to talk to you about my friends over at Patriot Mobile.
00:01:24.000 You've got a lot of choices for cell phone service
00:01:26.860 with new ones popping up all the time.
00:01:29.620 But if you want to make a difference
00:01:31.380 and you want to stop giving your money to liberal companies,
00:01:34.640 well, one way you can do that
00:01:36.340 is by getting rid of Liberal Mobile you probably have right now.
00:01:40.480 That is where hundreds of thousands of Americans
00:01:43.060 are now coming together
00:01:44.200 and have made Patriot Mobile what they are today.
00:01:46.700 They've been in service now for 13 years
00:01:50.220 and right now is the best time ever to switch
00:01:53.880 because it's never been easier.
00:01:55.760 Now, before I tell you about that,
00:01:57.480 I want you to know why switching is so important
00:02:00.040 because every time you make a call,
00:02:01.880 every time you send a text,
00:02:02.960 and every time that you pay your bill,
00:02:04.840 you're actually standing up for the values you believe in,
00:02:07.320 your First and your Second Amendment rights,
00:02:09.480 the rights of unborn children,
00:02:11.460 and you stand with our military,
00:02:13.120 our veterans, our wounded warriors,
00:02:14.960 and our fallen soldier families
00:02:16.680 because Patriot Mobile takes about 5% of your bill every month
00:02:20.020 at no extra cost to you,
00:02:22.360 and they give it back to these organizations
00:02:24.560 that fight for our values.
00:02:26.680 Now, let's talk about switching.
00:02:28.440 It has never been easier.
00:02:29.740 You can keep your same number,
00:02:31.200 keep your same phone, or upgrade.
00:02:33.600 Patriot Mobile's got a 100% U.S.-based customer service team,
00:02:36.920 and literally they can now, with technology,
00:02:39.540 get you activated in minutes
00:02:41.360 from the comfort of your home or your office.
00:02:43.340 If you're stuck in a contract or owe money on your phones,
00:02:46.480 no worries.
00:02:47.620 Patriot Mobile has a contract buyout program,
00:02:49.900 and this is how we win, folks.
00:02:52.120 By aligning our spending with our values,
00:02:55.300 every dollar we spend matters.
00:02:57.180 Now, let me also give you a free month of service.
00:02:59.580 Go to patriotmobile.com slash Ferguson.
00:03:03.800 That's patriotmobile.com slash Ferguson.
00:03:07.460 Or you can call them 972-PATRIOT.
00:03:11.240 Use the promo code FERGUSON,
00:03:13.520 and you're going to get one month free service
00:03:15.740 by switching today.
00:03:17.240 So again, patriotmobile.com slash Ferguson.
00:03:19.840 Use the promo code FERGUSON.
00:03:21.380 You'll get a free month of service today.
00:03:23.600 Patriotmobile.com slash Ferguson,
00:03:25.420 or 972-PATRIOT.
00:03:27.360 It's the 47 Morning Update,
00:03:29.140 and it starts right now.
00:03:30.960 Story number one.
00:03:32.040 There is a big story brewing,
00:03:34.020 and it involves the House GOP
00:03:35.860 launching a probe into alleged
00:03:38.580 D.C. crime data manipulation,
00:03:42.660 and it's happening right before our very eyes.
00:03:46.840 Yes, Democrats are now being accused
00:03:49.540 of covering and lying,
00:03:52.100 claiming that crime was dropping
00:03:53.620 when in reality it was still extremely high.
00:03:57.180 And that is where you insert
00:03:58.580 House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer.
00:04:01.080 He has launched an investigation
00:04:03.400 into President Trump's allegations
00:04:05.900 that D.C. crime data is being manipulated
00:04:08.740 by local police leadership.
00:04:12.020 Now, you may ask yourself this question like,
00:04:14.720 why do I care?
00:04:16.000 Well, let me explain.
00:04:17.980 The action actually comes less than a week
00:04:20.440 after the Justice Department
00:04:22.000 announced a federal probe into the statistics.
00:04:25.420 That's a big deal.
00:04:26.980 The Trump administration is facing
00:04:28.700 escalating pushback
00:04:30.580 over the president's decision
00:04:31.720 to frame federal agents involved in D.C.
00:04:35.440 as a public safety issue
00:04:36.820 when violent crime in the city
00:04:39.280 they're now claiming
00:04:40.140 is at a, quote, 30-year low.
00:04:42.900 The problem is,
00:04:44.180 the citizens are saying,
00:04:45.520 that's a lie,
00:04:46.560 and now whistleblowers are coming forward.
00:04:49.820 A whistleblower, quote,
00:04:51.280 with direct knowledge
00:04:52.240 of internal MPD operations
00:04:55.060 and crime data discussions
00:04:57.340 also informed the committee
00:04:59.180 that crime statistics
00:05:00.740 were allegedly manipulated on purpose
00:05:03.740 on a widespread basis
00:05:06.260 and at the direction
00:05:08.200 of senior MPD officials.
00:05:10.540 That is what Comer wrote
00:05:11.940 in a letter
00:05:12.360 to the Metropolitan Police Department's
00:05:14.480 chief,
00:05:15.640 Paulina Smith,
00:05:16.800 quote,
00:05:17.700 while MPD took action
00:05:19.600 against a single district commander,
00:05:21.820 the issue potentially affects
00:05:23.660 all seven patrol districts
00:05:26.620 as MPD leadership
00:05:28.080 allegedly instructed commanders
00:05:29.640 to routinely downgrade the charges
00:05:32.960 to, quote,
00:05:34.440 artificially label crime
00:05:37.540 at a lower statistic.
00:05:39.380 So you're going to artificially lower crime,
00:05:42.560 the District of Columbia's crime stats,
00:05:44.580 so then you can then say
00:05:46.220 it's safer
00:05:47.060 even though it is actually not
00:05:49.140 and it maybe is even more dangerous
00:05:51.620 than it was the last time you looked.
00:05:53.360 So if you know that,
00:05:55.260 you do what they're doing.
00:05:56.340 You just make it up as you go, right?
00:05:59.860 You say, no, no, no.
00:06:00.980 Everything's great.
00:06:02.320 Crime's down, right?
00:06:03.560 Crime's down.
00:06:04.480 Crime's down.
00:06:05.600 Who could be against
00:06:06.800 how great things are now,
00:06:08.400 a.k.a. Donald Trump?
00:06:09.500 We don't need you to send in
00:06:10.540 the National Guard.
00:06:12.560 Well, Comer noted in his letter
00:06:14.240 that the D.C. police
00:06:15.360 had suspended a commander,
00:06:17.860 Michael Pulliam,
00:06:19.220 for allegedly manipulating
00:06:20.820 crime statistics,
00:06:22.320 like I mentioned,
00:06:23.640 on purpose.
00:06:25.160 Media accounts of the incident
00:06:26.460 additionally note
00:06:27.660 that the police union claims
00:06:29.320 police supervisors
00:06:30.320 in the department,
00:06:31.660 in fact,
00:06:32.180 manipulated crime data
00:06:33.220 to make it appear
00:06:34.020 violent crime was fallen
00:06:35.380 considerably compared to last year.
00:06:38.400 Now, his committee
00:06:39.060 is requesting documents
00:06:40.780 and transcribed interviews
00:06:42.860 with the commanders
00:06:43.480 of each of the seven
00:06:44.580 patrol districts
00:06:45.420 in Washington, D.C.
00:06:47.360 And then you have Donald Trump.
00:06:49.940 He has called the statistics
00:06:51.280 released by the FBI,
00:06:52.840 quote,
00:06:52.960 fake
00:06:53.540 to justify federal intervention
00:06:55.720 in D.C.
00:06:56.360 and his plans
00:06:57.780 to intervene
00:06:58.400 in other cities.
00:07:00.280 The president has also said
00:07:01.900 that he's interested
00:07:02.740 in using D.C.
00:07:03.800 as a test
00:07:04.900 for operations
00:07:06.120 in other cities.
00:07:07.700 And on Sunday,
00:07:08.640 he even raised
00:07:09.620 the ear
00:07:10.200 of Maryland's governor,
00:07:11.440 Wes Moore,
00:07:12.440 when he threatened
00:07:13.120 to send troops
00:07:13.820 to Baltimore.
00:07:15.360 Now, Democratic leaders,
00:07:16.740 what did they do?
00:07:17.400 Well, they lost their minds.
00:07:18.960 They started picketing.
00:07:20.120 They started screaming.
00:07:21.200 They started yelling.
00:07:22.500 And what did they do?
00:07:23.980 Well, they were angry.
00:07:25.660 Yes, they were angry
00:07:27.180 that the president
00:07:28.340 of the United States of America
00:07:29.260 isn't buying into,
00:07:30.440 as many would describe it,
00:07:32.420 business as usual.
00:07:35.640 This is exactly why
00:07:36.840 Donald Trump
00:07:37.400 keeps winning on the issues
00:07:38.620 because he's not backing down.
00:07:41.080 Now, story number two.
00:07:42.420 So, Donald Trump
00:07:43.560 has come out
00:07:44.380 and he is seeking
00:07:45.340 to end
00:07:46.360 cashless bail
00:07:47.660 nationwide.
00:07:48.940 He's starting
00:07:49.920 with Washington, D.C.
00:07:51.340 And his order
00:07:52.480 directs federal law enforcement
00:07:54.220 to hold
00:07:54.920 arrestees
00:07:56.120 in custody
00:07:57.160 and prosecute them
00:07:58.880 on federal charges
00:08:00.800 when possible
00:08:01.880 to avoid
00:08:03.360 two things,
00:08:04.700 pretrial release
00:08:05.680 and pretrial release
00:08:07.320 with cash bail.
00:08:09.260 Now, the president
00:08:10.840 has made it clear
00:08:11.700 he's not messing around.
00:08:13.520 In fact,
00:08:14.080 Trump is threatening
00:08:14.980 to withhold
00:08:15.660 or revoke
00:08:16.320 federal funding
00:08:17.220 from states
00:08:18.420 and local jurisdictions
00:08:19.800 that have substantially
00:08:21.720 eliminated
00:08:22.660 cash bail
00:08:24.020 for offenses
00:08:25.240 deemed
00:08:25.800 a threat
00:08:26.340 to public safety,
00:08:28.300 violent,
00:08:28.880 or sexual crimes,
00:08:30.840 burglary,
00:08:31.780 looting,
00:08:32.480 vandalism,
00:08:33.100 and the attorney general
00:08:34.580 is ordered
00:08:35.180 to identify
00:08:35.880 those jurisdictions
00:08:37.000 within 30 days.
00:08:39.340 Federal agencies
00:08:40.380 then determine
00:08:41.900 which funding
00:08:42.820 to, quote,
00:08:43.920 suspend.
00:08:44.980 Now, the framework
00:08:46.420 for all this
00:08:47.640 is going to be big.
00:08:48.880 You also have
00:08:49.720 a lot of people
00:08:50.080 that are frustrated
00:08:50.840 in and around
00:08:52.160 the president
00:08:53.120 of the United States
00:08:53.660 of America.
00:08:54.460 Why?
00:08:55.200 Well, because
00:08:55.980 he's not backing down
00:08:57.720 from what he promised
00:08:58.820 and they can't believe
00:09:00.280 that they can't get him
00:09:01.140 to just be quiet
00:09:02.000 on this issue
00:09:02.720 of cashless bail.
00:09:04.000 Take a listen
00:09:04.820 to how MSNBC
00:09:05.920 described the signing.
00:09:07.560 So first,
00:09:08.100 let's start
00:09:08.460 with the big topic,
00:09:09.640 cashless bail.
00:09:10.780 Cashless bail,
00:09:11.420 of course,
00:09:12.000 allows a defendant
00:09:12.760 to be released
00:09:13.540 from jail
00:09:14.100 while they're awaiting trial.
00:09:15.440 That's based on
00:09:16.060 their commitment
00:09:16.560 to appear in court
00:09:17.780 instead of paying
00:09:19.200 a specific cash amount.
00:09:20.800 I know some supporters
00:09:21.640 of cashless bail
00:09:22.500 says it avoids
00:09:23.500 penalizing low-income
00:09:24.740 defendants,
00:09:25.300 but Gabe,
00:09:25.840 what is the president
00:09:26.820 and White House
00:09:27.500 saying about this order
00:09:28.640 and their hopes
00:09:29.280 for what it will do
00:09:30.400 not just for Washington
00:09:31.500 but the rest of the country?
00:09:33.380 Well, you know,
00:09:33.680 I was saying, Clay,
00:09:34.160 the president
00:09:34.620 and his administration
00:09:35.700 have been railing
00:09:36.420 against cashless bail
00:09:37.380 for quite some time.
00:09:38.900 It's something
00:09:39.340 that Janine Pirro,
00:09:41.140 the U.S. attorney
00:09:42.040 here in D.C.,
00:09:42.940 has been talking about
00:09:43.760 a lot in the last
00:09:44.620 couple of days
00:09:45.180 in this executive order
00:09:46.200 that the president
00:09:46.720 just signed
00:09:47.240 aims to eliminate
00:09:48.380 cashless bail
00:09:49.280 here in D.C.
00:09:50.700 by potentially withholding
00:09:53.020 federal funds
00:09:54.160 from this jurisdiction
00:09:56.460 and also he ordered
00:09:58.380 his attorney general
00:09:59.280 to look at different
00:10:01.480 jurisdictions
00:10:01.920 across the country
00:10:02.740 and identify those
00:10:03.760 that have cashless bail
00:10:05.140 policies
00:10:05.640 and explore ways
00:10:06.600 to withhold
00:10:07.220 some federal funding.
00:10:08.960 Now, that is something
00:10:09.920 that the administration
00:10:10.600 has done for a variety
00:10:12.220 of issues,
00:10:13.260 trying to explore ways
00:10:14.820 to stop federal funding
00:10:16.940 or to the threat
00:10:18.140 of withholding federal funds
00:10:19.440 in order for those jurisdictions
00:10:21.760 to agree
00:10:23.680 or to go along
00:10:24.920 with their policy.
00:10:26.300 But that is just one
00:10:27.140 of the executive orders
00:10:28.740 that he signed
00:10:29.620 this morning, Sinclair.
00:10:30.840 Now, cashless bail
00:10:31.960 has been something
00:10:32.700 that the left
00:10:33.300 is absolutely obsessed with.
00:10:35.720 I'll give you a great example.
00:10:37.020 This Democratic representative,
00:10:39.420 Kelly,
00:10:40.320 saying this
00:10:41.140 about cashless bail.
00:10:42.480 Now, again,
00:10:42.960 Democrats have been
00:10:43.780 campaigning on it.
00:10:45.240 Black Lives Matter
00:10:46.160 was created around it.
00:10:47.360 George Soros
00:10:48.040 and the activist DAs
00:10:49.220 were the ones
00:10:49.700 that implemented it.
00:10:50.560 They wanted cashless bail.
00:10:52.320 They wanted prison reform,
00:10:53.920 which meant
00:10:54.240 get everybody out of jail.
00:10:56.540 These are the radical
00:10:57.880 left ideas
00:10:59.240 now destroying cities.
00:11:01.520 Yet,
00:11:02.160 you even look at Chicago
00:11:03.640 and Democratic
00:11:04.960 Representative Kelly,
00:11:06.280 again,
00:11:06.960 talking about Chicago,
00:11:09.000 saying this
00:11:09.640 about National Guard troops
00:11:11.100 and cashless bail.
00:11:12.760 I want to ask you,
00:11:13.960 we only have a minute
00:11:14.520 left Congresswoman
00:11:15.280 about no cash bail
00:11:16.360 because the president
00:11:17.020 signed an EO today
00:11:18.500 ending that practice
00:11:19.600 aimed to at least
00:11:20.600 your state of Illinois
00:11:21.380 was the first in the nation
00:11:22.500 to pass a cashless bail law.
00:11:25.000 What does Donald Trump
00:11:25.920 not understand?
00:11:27.100 He doesn't understand
00:11:27.960 that this gives judges
00:11:29.320 the discretion,
00:11:30.880 more discretion
00:11:32.040 to make that decision.
00:11:33.860 You know,
00:11:34.060 they can say no
00:11:35.060 if they think
00:11:35.740 it's someone
00:11:36.180 that will,
00:11:37.200 you know,
00:11:37.680 go out and be violent.
00:11:39.300 They're not,
00:11:40.340 they're too risky.
00:11:41.620 But if,
00:11:42.620 you know,
00:11:43.060 they have nothing
00:11:43.900 in their past
00:11:44.960 or the judge feels
00:11:45.880 that,
00:11:46.540 you know,
00:11:46.820 they'll be safe
00:11:48.100 and it's okay
00:11:48.760 to,
00:11:49.400 you know,
00:11:49.800 let them out,
00:11:50.380 they have that discretion.
00:11:51.800 So,
00:11:52.260 but Donald Trump
00:11:52.860 doesn't care.
00:11:53.640 Again,
00:11:53.900 this is part of his,
00:11:55.040 you know,
00:11:55.620 fear.
00:11:56.140 This is part of his
00:11:57.120 distraction
00:11:57.760 from other things
00:11:59.400 going on
00:12:00.120 in the world,
00:12:01.500 you know,
00:12:01.960 other things going on
00:12:03.300 in the United States.
00:12:04.180 Like he said,
00:12:04.800 he would lower prices.
00:12:06.000 That hasn't happened.
00:12:07.140 So these are all distractions.
00:12:09.440 All distractions,
00:12:10.680 she says.
00:12:11.500 Nothing good.
00:12:12.280 Donald Trump's done.
00:12:13.520 Prices,
00:12:14.060 she says,
00:12:14.480 aren't lower,
00:12:15.160 even though they actually are.
00:12:16.740 Gas prices is a perfect example
00:12:18.620 of that.
00:12:18.940 The price of eggs,
00:12:20.420 the price of butter,
00:12:21.420 the price of milk.
00:12:23.000 There's countless items
00:12:24.360 that are lower
00:12:25.320 since Donald Trump
00:12:26.360 got back into office.
00:12:27.720 But you can hear
00:12:28.740 this representative
00:12:29.520 straight up lying about it.
00:12:31.560 I also want you to hear
00:12:32.560 from the Miami mayor
00:12:33.740 about what he had to say
00:12:35.120 about cashless bail
00:12:36.300 and what happens
00:12:37.620 when you have it.
00:12:39.240 Yeah,
00:12:39.340 and when you were
00:12:40.240 at the White House,
00:12:41.060 you spoke about this.
00:12:42.300 You went to the White House
00:12:43.300 for that summit
00:12:44.040 and you talked about
00:12:45.140 cashless bail
00:12:46.060 contributing to the nation's
00:12:47.720 crime spike.
00:12:48.640 Tell us more about that
00:12:49.880 and why you don't see
00:12:52.380 more cities and states
00:12:54.540 turning over a page
00:12:56.900 from cashless bail.
00:13:00.100 Well,
00:13:00.560 as president
00:13:01.000 of the U.S.
00:13:01.560 Conference of Mayors,
00:13:02.340 it's my responsibility
00:13:03.420 to lead
00:13:04.260 and to put forth
00:13:05.620 an agenda
00:13:06.060 based on policies
00:13:07.280 that have worked
00:13:08.520 in my city
00:13:09.420 and that can work
00:13:10.420 across America.
00:13:11.960 And, you know,
00:13:12.460 this cashless bail
00:13:13.320 is another example
00:13:14.240 of a failed liberal policy
00:13:15.740 where you create
00:13:17.580 a revolving door
00:13:18.400 of people
00:13:19.100 who commit crimes
00:13:19.920 and are back out
00:13:20.620 on the streets
00:13:21.160 immediately.
00:13:21.920 It makes it impossible
00:13:22.940 for law enforcement
00:13:23.680 to do their job.
00:13:24.880 It puts an incredible
00:13:26.000 burden on cities
00:13:26.940 and on law-abiding residents
00:13:28.660 that have to deal
00:13:29.700 with people
00:13:30.340 who are habitual criminals.
00:13:32.320 And it just doesn't work.
00:13:33.900 And so, you know,
00:13:34.620 we have to get away
00:13:35.320 from politicizing,
00:13:36.180 again, law enforcement
00:13:37.000 and get to things
00:13:38.220 that work,
00:13:38.720 policies that work
00:13:39.400 that make our cities safer
00:13:40.520 because safety
00:13:41.160 is the number one concern.
00:13:42.660 Whenever you've done a poll,
00:13:43.380 I've been around
00:13:44.100 a public service
00:13:45.440 for 13 years, okay?
00:13:46.920 They're like dog years.
00:13:48.940 And I'll tell you,
00:13:50.240 whenever you do a poll,
00:13:52.080 the number one issue
00:13:53.020 is always crime
00:13:54.260 and the economy.
00:13:55.240 You know,
00:13:55.640 one and two
00:13:56.180 and they vacillate
00:13:57.620 between one and the other.
00:13:58.720 So, safety
00:13:59.840 is the biggest concern
00:14:00.880 for citizens
00:14:01.760 across the world.
00:14:03.600 So, it just,
00:14:04.280 it's something that
00:14:04.820 we cannot afford
00:14:05.640 to politicize.
00:14:06.360 We've got to do things
00:14:07.360 that keep our citizens safe.
00:14:10.040 By the way,
00:14:10.500 the Miami mayor,
00:14:11.560 absolutely right.
00:14:12.700 Cashless bail
00:14:13.400 is another example
00:14:14.320 of a failed liberal policy.
00:14:17.040 Something that's been implemented
00:14:18.360 and the data shows
00:14:20.000 overwhelming.
00:14:20.980 The majority of Americans
00:14:22.040 are in favor
00:14:22.900 of what Donald Trump's doing,
00:14:24.580 not allowing
00:14:25.420 those that are committing
00:14:26.620 heinous crimes
00:14:27.480 to walk among us.
