00:02:51.580They refuse to smile. There's something wrong with them.
00:02:54.520The only thing standing between us and our country and the wide open border is a Republican Congress and a certain president named President Donald J. Trump.
00:03:05.420It's the only thing you're listening to the 47 Morning Update with Ben Ferguson.
00:03:10.720Good Tuesday morning. Nice to have you with us on the 47 Morning Update.
00:03:13.780And we've got a very big story for you.
00:03:15.500A shocking Inspector General report is out saying that Joe Biden's Department of Homeland Security knowingly and willfully allowed millions of visa overstays for illegal aliens in this country, including those deemed high risk to our national security.
00:03:33.100We now know how they did it and exactly how many of those people may be in the U.S. right now.
00:03:38.600Now, before I give you all of those details, I want to take a moment and say this.
00:03:43.400Where you spend your money, it matters.
00:03:46.100Why give your money to wireless companies that don't share or advocate or actually fight against your values?
00:03:52.280Well, Patriot Mobile is a company I use, and they're America's only Christian conservative wireless provider.
00:03:59.040Now, you get premium nationwide coverage on all three major networks.
00:04:02.520And your money helps defend faith, family, freedom, and our God-given rights every time you pay your bill.
00:04:09.300So stop funding companies that work against our values.
00:04:13.000Stand with a company that stands with you.
00:04:15.700Every year, they give millions of dollars to organizations that fight for our First and Our Second Amendment rights,
00:05:25.940And when you talk about is it $10 million across the southern border or $15 million, it doesn't even make sense in your head.
00:05:32.300Now, this is a report that's a lot different than that, and that's why I want to bring it up to you.
00:05:37.340It's about people who enter the United States of America legally, then they have a date they're supposed to leave by, they don't leave,
00:05:45.440And now, according to DHS Inspector General, ICE took limited action on millions and millions of those overstay leads between the fiscal years 2021 and 2024.
00:05:59.460It means under Biden's direction, it was clear that the Department of Homeland Security and ICE looked the other way when people were overstaying their welcome.
00:06:09.600Now, the report released September the 29th, and its title says a lot.
00:06:14.220In the fiscal year 2021 through fiscal year 2024, ICE took limited action on non-immigrant overstays,
00:06:21.460including those deemed, quote, high risk to national security.
00:06:25.880Now, this is where the story becomes an important one.
00:06:29.340This report says that even those that were deemed high risk to our national security,
00:06:33.720to the way of life that we have, to people's lives.
00:07:51.100That is what the Biden administration was doing.
00:07:53.660And there's another layer to the data that we're finding out about as well.
00:07:56.700The inspector general also examined what happened after then Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas issued new immigration enforcement guidelines in September of 2021.
00:08:08.780Now, those guidelines directed ICE's limited enforcement resources towards people considered threats to national security, public safety or border security.
00:08:20.060The inspector general concluded that the policy was one reason.
00:08:25.080ICE conducted few investigations initiated by overstay leads and arrested even fewer foreign nationals for overstaying or violating the terms of their admission.
00:08:34.960The report also points to another major problem, resources and basic tracking, which were in essence turned off because of Mayorkas' direction.
00:08:47.220This was deliberately done by the Biden administration to make sure that illegal immigrants that were in this country, people that came in legally but were overstaying their welcome, even those that were a threat to this country, we did nothing to stop them.0.98
00:09:03.560We did nothing to get them out of this country.0.99
00:09:06.680We did nothing to check up on them.1.00
00:09:44.820Let them run around among us, and we're going to roll the dice.
00:09:48.360I can tell you an answer to that question.1.00
00:09:50.340The only reason why you put that directive out there if you're Mayorkas is you want to say to the rest of the world that if you're an illegal immigrant, come to America now.0.97
00:09:58.880We're not deporting anyone, including the bad guys.1.00
00:10:02.920If you are a threat to our national security, and we know about you, we're not actually trying to find you right now.
00:12:02.200and refusing to work with them to give them the information they needed to go out there
00:12:06.920and arrest the people that were deemed national security threats to the United States of America.
00:12:14.340ICE also told the inspector general that it did not have sufficient resources to pursue all of the overstay leads.
00:12:21.340Why? Because the Biden administration cut the resources needed to do so.
00:12:25.720And ICE said when they did attempt to pursue some of these cases,
00:12:29.460They said investigators encountered difficulty verifying any government help locating any of the foreign nationals.
00:12:38.080I go back to what I said a moment ago.
00:12:40.000This is why I said this is all about a president of the United States of America and an administration that said we do not want to deport anyone.0.97
00:12:49.480We want people to stay in America.1.00
00:12:52.140We don't care if they are illegal immigrants that are here that are a threat to our national security.1.00
00:12:57.400We're willing to roll the dice for the broader and bigger messaging about the future, which1.00
00:13:04.220is that we want anyone who is around the world to come into the United States of America
00:13:23.700Policy choices about whom ICE would pursue, they said, was a problem.
00:13:27.200Resource limitations was another part of it.
00:13:29.620Serious problems locating people after they entered the United States of America.
00:13:32.540And then if you get to the highest priority cases, reporting on the inspector general's findings say there were 1,769 viable priority one leads in the highest risk category.
00:14:47.680Instead, the audit describes a system in which ICE frequently could not do that.
00:14:54.080And remember the broader context here.
00:14:56.560Visa overstays are fundamentally different from illegal border crossings.
00:15:00.960These are generally individuals who came through the legal ports of entry system.
00:15:05.140The government knew who they were when they entered.
00:15:07.340There was supposed to be a record of their admission and the period during which they were authorized to remain inside of the U.S.
00:15:15.520Now, the problem came when they didn't leave or readily violate the terms of their admission.
00:15:20.280And that is when enforcement agencies had to determine what happens next.
00:15:23.520Well, the inspector general has a story of what actually happened next.
00:15:27.860They found that of 3,041,000 and change, roughly 3.1 million over say leads, 96.7% were classified as what the government said under the Biden administration was non-priority.
00:15:42.400Now, according to DHS's summary of these findings, they said more than 2.8 million non-priority
00:15:47.480leads were sent to ICE enforcement and removal operations.
00:15:51.460They said just five, they sent 2.8 non-priority leads, just five were investigated after being
00:15:59.120identified as possible public safety threats, and then those five only actually resulted
00:21:10.700This is the Department of Homeland Security's own office of Inspector General that is examining
00:21:15.880ICE's own records during those fiscal years 21 through 24 and concluding formally that the
00:21:22.920agency took deliberate limited action on non-immigrant overstays, including cases deemed
00:21:29.960high risk to national security. High risk to national security. This should be a debate.
00:21:37.020This should be a debate about why this was allowed to happen. This should be a debate about
00:21:41.620policies it should be a debate about resources it should be a debate about bad address information
00:21:47.420it should be a debate about investigative capabilities and enforcement priorities
00:21:51.440because all of these played a role according to the watchdog saying the prior administration said
00:21:59.780we don't care who gets hurt we want to protect the 3.1 million overstays no matter what and we
00:22:07.880We want to protect the more than 104,000 potential national security or public safety concerns within that 3.1 million.
00:22:14.180And we only are going to arrest eight people from that group of leads because we don't want word to get out that we're actually doing enforcement.
00:22:21.520We want word to get out that come to America and no one's going to kick you out.
