00:00:02.640 Guaranteed human.
00:00:04.840 Our coal areas are going to be opened up for clean, beautiful coal.
00:00:08.740 They tried wind, which is a disaster.
00:00:10.720 It's dangerous in the oceans in terms of navigation.
00:00:13.560 And if you look at what's happening with whales, you know, in one area,
00:00:16.560 two whales like in 20 years washed ashore.
00:00:19.540 And this year they had 17 washed ashore.
00:00:22.160 So there's something happened out there.
00:00:23.740 There's something driving the whales, a little bit loco.
00:00:26.180 You're listening to the 47 Morning Update with Ben Ferguson.
00:00:30.200 Good Thursday morning, Ben Ferguson with you.
00:00:32.140 It's so nice to have you on the 47 Morning Update.
00:00:34.620 And these are the big three stories that you need to know about.
00:00:37.900 First up, Pete Hedseth is responding to the liberal media attacks to their face
00:00:43.380 over what they've designated as signal gate.
00:00:46.340 And you do not want to miss what he has to say.
00:00:48.520 Also, ICE agents detained 600-plus criminal illegals in a single week in Houston, Texas.
00:00:57.800 Yet liberal cities are still defying the law and Donald Trump will have the latest on that.
00:01:03.720 And finally, Donald Trump says,
00:01:05.620 I'm not messing around yet again,
00:01:07.300 announcing 25% tariff on cars not made in the U.S.
00:01:12.060 This is the beginning, he says, of Liberation Day in America.
00:01:15.760 It's the 47 Morning Update, and it starts right now.
00:01:19.420 Story number one.
00:01:20.500 It is a media firestorm as the organizing of the Democratic Party
00:01:24.420 and state-sponsored media are coming together for what is now being dubbed a signal gate.
00:01:29.880 Yes, there was, in fact, a journalist who was inadvertently put on a text message group
00:01:35.540 with many members of the Trump team.
00:01:38.300 But what they're saying about what was said on those texts is still a big lie.
00:01:43.020 And that is exactly why Pete Hedgeseth came out and made it very clear to the media,
00:01:48.540 to their faces, that no units, no locations were shared on the signal chat.
00:01:54.900 The defense secretary insisting that he did not share classified plans through a signal group.
00:02:00.500 And the Trump administration officials did nothing wrong.
00:02:04.080 Yes, there was the Atlantic's Jeffrey Goldberg who was inadvertently added to that chat,
00:02:08.420 and he has done nothing more than release details and go on TV.
00:02:13.020 And say there's a big scandal.
00:02:14.600 But the reality is, they were not, in fact, war plans.
00:02:18.240 Here is Pete, in his own words, talking directly to these reporters and the American people.
00:02:23.220 Beautiful day when we're on the road, talking to the troops.
00:02:27.080 And actually, in real time, reestablishing deterrence.
00:02:30.940 You see, that's what President Trump has charged the Defense Department with doing.
00:02:35.160 Reviving the warrior ethos, rebuilding the military, which we're doing in real time, and reestablishing deterrence.
00:02:42.660 And that's why we're heading out into the Indo-Pacific to talk to our allies and partners and meet with the troops.
00:02:47.960 You see, under the Biden administration, we let our troops and our ships and both warships and commercial ships get shot at to no consequence.
00:02:55.580 What does that look like?
00:02:57.880 That looks like weakness.
00:03:00.020 And what President Trump has said is, peace through strength is back.
00:03:04.400 We will reestablish deterrence.
00:03:06.700 That's not acceptable.
00:03:08.220 And our ongoing campaign against the Houthis has been devastatingly effective.
00:03:13.680 Now, as I said to this group a couple of times on this trip, now, as we move to the Indo-Pacific to do our job, which is what we're here to do, nobody's texting war plans.
00:03:25.000 Well, I noticed this morning, out came something that doesn't look like war plans.
00:03:30.620 And as a matter of fact, they even changed the title to attack plans, because they know it's not war plans.
00:03:36.560 There's no units, no locations, no routes, no flight paths, no sources, no methods, no classified information.
00:03:48.160 You know who sees war plans?
00:03:50.080 I see them.
00:03:51.300 Every single day.
00:03:53.440 I looked at them this morning.
00:03:54.800 I looked at attack plans this morning.
00:03:56.640 You know who does attack plans and war plans?
00:03:59.580 Men like that admiral right there, Paparo, for the Indo-Pacific.
00:04:03.060 Or Eric Carilla, our general in CENTCOM.
00:04:05.640 They do attack plans and war plans.
00:04:09.660 And thank God we have those leaders who do it and do it well, and our enemies know it.
00:04:15.440 My job, as it's set atop of that, everybody's seen it now, team update is to provide updates in real time.
00:04:24.320 General updates in real time.
00:04:26.320 Keep everybody informed.
00:04:27.700 That's what I did.
00:04:29.240 That's my job.
00:04:30.580 The war fighters will take the fight to the enemy, and I love what they do.
00:04:34.580 And with President Trump's leadership, our enemies are on notice.
00:04:38.300 We will have peace through strength, and we'll keep putting our troops first.
00:04:41.600 Now, if you listen to what he actually said, and you look at what he's telling you, in his words, as a matter of fact, they even changed the title to, quote, attack plans.
00:04:49.820 There's no units.
00:04:51.280 There's no locations.
00:04:52.640 There's no routes.
00:04:53.700 There's no flight paths.
00:04:54.820 There's no sources.
00:04:56.180 There's no methods.
00:04:57.220 There's no classified information.
00:04:59.900 And what the defense secretary was making it clear is that, yes, they took text messages, and then they made them bigger than they actually are.
00:05:07.840 As he described it, yeah, I see war plans every single day.
00:05:11.560 But he is not the person who devises them either, yet again showing that the media is lying to the American people.
00:05:18.300 And let's not forget why they were having to actually do this attack.
00:05:22.440 It is actually because of the inaction of the Biden administration, who refused to protect American ships and the shipping channel.
00:05:30.460 And that is exactly why the Trump administration was forced to act in the first place.
00:05:34.860 Now, to be clear, Democrats are going to try to turn this into the biggest story they can, because it's their job, with the Democratic Party, obviously, to try to lie to the American people and deceive them instead of giving them the actual facts, just like you heard there from the defense secretary.
00:05:50.320 Next, story number two.
00:05:51.520 There are two Americas right now, and depending on where you're listening to me right now, you know that you're either in a city that is cooperating with ICE, or you're in a sanctuary city that is refusing to hand over hardened criminals.
00:06:05.240 They're a threat to society, to ICE agents.
00:06:08.020 By the way, also in violation of the law.
00:06:11.120 Tom Homan went on Fox News Channel to explain exactly how bad it is in many of the Democratic cities.
00:06:17.360 So, Tom, just to get into some of the specifics here.
00:06:19.900 So, you've got these folks that had already been charged with this.
00:06:22.720 What your agents were asking, keep these guys behind bars, and we'll go pick them up.
00:06:27.260 But many of these criminals got charged, and they were released back on the street, right?
00:06:32.560 Yeah, absolutely right.
00:06:33.300 In one case, I looked at Lawrence, one case, it was a child rape.
00:06:37.220 He was released two years ago without honoring our detainer.
00:06:40.040 It took us two years to find this person.
00:06:41.960 So, how many children did he attack in the last two years?
00:06:44.800 All we're asking for is to let our agents in the jail where you lock somebody up.
00:06:49.460 And let us arrest them there when you're done with them, rather than releasing them back in the public and making a public safety issue out of it.
00:06:54.800 You listen to Tom Homan there.
00:06:56.560 All we're asking for is to let our ICE agents into the jail and arrest these criminals when they're done with them.
00:07:03.380 Referring to local authorities.
00:07:04.940 Many liberal cities and states are still refusing to comply with the federal laws and refusing to work with ICE agents.
00:07:12.440 So, what is happening in cities right now where the city is choosing to work with the federal government?
00:07:19.180 And just how many illegal immigrant criminals are they getting off the streets that are violent?
00:07:23.100 Let me give you an example of Houston, Texas.
00:07:25.700 ICE agents have now released that they detained more than 600 criminal illegals in a single week.
00:07:33.220 Yes, the agents recently detained the more than 300 criminal illegals in Greater Houston in a seven-day period.
00:07:39.360 ICE arrested 646 non-citizens during an operation from February the 23rd to March the 2nd, including 543 aliens with criminal charges and seven alleged to be gang members.
00:07:54.340 The 543 detainees all entered the U.S. illegally and, quote,
00:07:58.960 have been charged or convicted of a criminal offense while they are illegally present in the country.
00:08:05.000 Those taken into custody included 140 charged or convicted for an aggravated felony or other violent offenses such as homicide, aggravated assault, or domestic violence.
00:08:16.080 In addition, 34 of those detained are criminal aliens charged or convicted of a sex offense or child sex offense such as aggravated sexual assault of a minor, possession of child pornography, or rape.
00:08:32.160 The director of ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations Field Office in Houston said the agency executed 71 criminal arrest warrants as part of the seven-day-long targeted operation.
00:08:45.720 ICE coordinated with other federal and state agencies to pull off the 646 detentions.
00:08:52.160 Among those involved were U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, the FBI, and the Drug Enforcement Administration.
00:09:02.760 In a press release, they said after illegally entering the country, many of these criminal aliens have gone on to commit violent crime and reign terror on law-abiding residents in the Houston area.
00:09:13.620 Fueled by our unwavering commitment to protect the public from harm and united in our determination to restore integrity to our nation's systems of laws.
00:09:21.760 ICE and our law enforcement partners in Southeast Texas have banned together to remove these dangerous criminal aliens from our local communities and put an end to the lawlessness that they spread.
00:09:33.220 So there are, in fact, two different Americas right now.
00:09:35.780 There are cities like Houston that are using every avenue of government and law enforcement to work together to get rid of these violent criminals and rapists.
00:09:44.560 And then there are liberal cities that are refusing to hand over these violent criminals to the federal government.
00:09:50.920 Now, the big question becomes, what is the president going to do to go after these cities that are obviously putting Americans in harm's way?
00:09:59.700 And lastly, story number three.
00:10:01.460 President Donald Trump has made good on a promise as he announced a 25% tariff on all automobiles not manufactured in the United States.
00:10:09.940 A move aimed to revitalize domestic car production and protect American jobs.
00:10:15.340 He is framing the decision as a key step towards economic independence and national strength.
00:10:20.640 Trump emphasizing the importance of bringing automotive manufacturing back to American soil.
00:10:25.920 Supporters of the tariff are making it clear this could lead to major resurgences in U.S. auto jobs, spur investment in American factories, and level the playing field with foreign competitors who have long benefited from low production costs and trade advantages.
00:10:43.020 Industry insiders are already reporting interest from automakers in expanding U.S.-based operations to avoid the new levy.
00:10:51.820 Quote, this is about putting America first, Trump said.
00:10:54.540 Here's more of the president in his own words.
00:10:58.080 Oh, this is the beginning of Liberation Day in America.
00:11:04.660 We're going to take back just some of the money that has been taken from us by people sitting behind this desk or another desk.
00:11:12.960 That's not quite as nice, but they have the choice of seven, as you know.
00:11:16.600 And we're going to charge countries for doing business in our country and taking our jobs, taking our wealth, taking a lot of things that they've been taking over the years.
00:11:30.520 They've taken so much out of our country, friend and foe.
00:11:34.140 And frankly, friend has been oftentimes much worse than foe.
00:11:36.980 And this is very modest.
00:11:39.320 And what we're going to be doing is a 25 percent tariff on all cars that are not made in the United States.
00:11:45.300 If they're made in the United States, there's absolutely no tariff.
00:11:48.520 We started off with a two and a half percent base, which is what we were at.
00:11:51.980 And we go to 25 percent.
00:11:54.860 And basically, as you know, and as you've been seeing, not reporting as accurately as it should be reported because it's a massive story.
00:12:01.620 Business is coming back to the United States so that they don't have to pay tariffs.
00:12:05.520 Now, economists are very excited about the president's new policy, suggesting, by the way, that tariffs could reduce the trade deficit and bolster related sectors such as steel, glass and electronics.
00:12:18.420 For many in manufacturing hubs, they also say like Michigan and Ohio, the move represents hope for the return to prosperity and industrial pride.
00:12:27.520 Now, the clear point the president is sending is that we are open for business and he is putting American workers ahead of foreign cheap labor.
00:12:36.300 And that's good for all Americans in this country.
