00:00:36.060 I said, look, if you don't adhere to the agreement, I don't want to do that. 0.96
00:00:40.280 But we're going to bomb the hell out of you.
00:00:42.460 And I don't think that they're going to veer from the agreement.
00:00:45.380 What else am I going to do?
00:00:46.340 Am I going to say I'm going to take you to court?

00:00:55.260 I want them to honor the agreement.
00:00:57.700 You're listening to the 47 Morning Update with Ben Ferguson.
00:01:01.660 Good Thursday morning. Nice to have you with us on the 47 Morning Update.
00:01:05.020 And we've got two big stories for you.
00:01:06.980 First up, President Trump explaining the Iranian deal.
00:01:10.580 This is there's a lot of fighting within the conservative community over this deal and what actually happened.
00:01:15.880 So what did the president say? I'll have that for you in just a moment.
00:01:19.060 Also, a story that's been underreported on.
00:01:23.040 Gavin Newsom in serious legal trouble right now in California.
00:01:27.700 A full investigation going on into him and a plea deal with his former chief of staff
00:01:34.100 that apparently has rolled.
00:01:35.860 But before we get to that, I want to talk to you real quick about the work that's being
00:01:39.720 done with Compassion International and how you can get involved.
00:01:44.080 Love, generosity, and compassion.
00:01:46.480 We say those words all the time and they sound good.
00:01:49.680 They feel good.
00:01:50.660 But here's the truth.
00:01:51.900 Those words don't mean anything unless they turn into action.
00:01:56.120 And right now, not later today, not tomorrow, there's a child in the world who doesn't know
00:02:02.600 if they'll eat, if they'll have a chance to learn, or if there's any hope at all.
00:02:08.820 And while we're all busy, life keeps moving forward, but that child is waiting.
00:02:14.660 This is where you come in.
00:02:16.780 With Compassion International, you have the chance to change a child's future, not just
00:02:21.840 with words not with promises but with real help that provides food education and hope through
00:02:28.880 local churches and people already in their community put your words into action and join me
00:02:36.200 introduce a child to a loving heavenly father today at compassion.com that's compassion.com
00:02:44.840 it's the 47 morning update and it starts right now story number one it is pretty clear that
00:02:51.280 But there is a real war happening right now in the Republican Party.
00:02:55.680 This over the Iran deal.
00:02:57.740 Many conservatives coming out saying that this deal is not what they want
00:03:01.980 and talking about why they believe there are flaws in the deal.
00:03:06.180 And it's obvious that Donald Trump is going to have to do some serious convincing
00:03:09.920 when he gets back to Washington, D.C. from the G7,
00:03:13.260 sitting down with key Republicans in the Senate,
00:03:15.420 explaining to him why this deal is something that they should be excited about.
00:03:20.320 Now, the president, speaking at the G7 about the deal, laid out his points for why he says this deal is, in fact, a good deal.
00:03:30.020 Take a listen.
00:03:31.800 On Sunday, we reached an agreement with Iran that achieves everything we set out to accomplish, everything and much more.
00:03:39.680 Ending the current conflict, reopening the Strait of Hormuz and preventing Iran from ever obtaining a nuclear weapon.
00:03:48.340 And that's what it was all about. 0.92
00:03:50.060 That was about 99 percent.
00:03:52.660 Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon. 0.99
00:03:54.740 They can't develop it, buy it.
00:03:57.540 They can never have a nuclear weapon.
00:03:59.800 At the same time, with this announcement or close to it, as people started to think it was going to happen when Iran was making some very positive statements,
00:04:11.040 the stock market has surged to record highs picking up thousands of points over the last
00:04:17.500 short period of time thousands of points and oil is dropping like it has never dropped before
00:04:25.480 at levels that went in in numbers down seven dollars down eight dollars they've never seen
00:04:35.480 anything like that but if we didn't do this deal we could have dropped more bombs for another three
00:04:42.260 weeks two weeks four weeks two years you would never have the harmless straight open you would
00:04:50.560 never have success your market would have instead of going up at levels that nobody's ever seen
00:04:56.500 before would go down at levels that nobody ever saw before maybe except for 1929 or whatever
00:05:02.840 then you know all the tough guys tough guys don't realize that this wasn't a three-month deal this
00:05:09.200 was years in the making you know why because I was the one that killed General Soleimani
00:05:15.300 and if I didn't kill General Soleimani we probably wouldn't be talking right now about
00:05:20.180 this deal because he was a mad genius they never were able to replace him
00:05:27.060 but a lot of people forget that the tough guys you know the tough guys that would drive the
00:05:33.280 country right down the tubes the past two days have provided a chance to discuss the details 0.99
00:05:39.380 of this historic agreement with many of our closest friends and allies including the g7
00:05:44.760 nations and many presidents and prime ministers as you saw prime minister modi was here we had
00:05:50.660 a long talk he's a great guy they are thrilled that we made a deal every one of them there's
00:05:56.580 not one nation that came to us and said please sir keep dropping bombs on them please keep 0.99
00:06:03.020 dropping bombs the stupid people say that but i'm thrilled to report and by the way those last two 1.00
00:06:09.920 days were brutal 200 million dollars worth of bombs and you know it is expensive too by the way 1.00
00:06:18.860 aside from everything else and they knew i was coming for a third night we informed them we're
00:06:23.900 coming for a third night they they didn't have their navy it sunk they didn't have their air
00:06:28.640 force it's gone not one plane they didn't have anti-aircraft equipment so we got free reign
00:06:35.280 they didn't have their leaders but they have a new group of leaders that i think is
00:06:40.560 uh actually i think they're smarter i think they're very smart i think they're far less
00:06:46.400 radicalized and i think they're uh i think they're really good they love their country
00:06:54.320 you know you talk about regime change nobody will say that but i guess that's look there one set of
00:07:01.000 leaders is all gone the second set of leaders is all gone their third set of leaders a little bit
00:07:07.700 gone but for the most part and frankly i think that's regime change i think they're going to
00:07:13.280 behave much differently. I think they see a different way of life that they were never
00:07:18.480 exposed to. Now, it's clear there that the president is making his case, not just to America,
00:07:25.160 but also the rest of the world of the G7, saying that this agreement is a major foreign policy
00:07:30.360 breakthrough. The president says it delivers on the core promise he made from the beginning.
00:07:36.400 Iran will not have a nuclear weapon. In fact, Trump said that point is written clearly into
00:07:41.760 the memorandum, and that it will be backed by what he described as strong inspection
00:07:46.660 and enforcement mechanism.
00:07:49.080 Now, to be clear, there are many conservatives that are very worried about this deal.
00:07:53.500 Many are criticizing the vice president for being the man in charge of getting this deal
00:07:57.640 together.
00:07:58.780 And the president is also pointing to what he says is a victory, the reopening of the
00:08:03.200 Strait of Hormuz as another victory. 0.98
00:08:05.800 There are many that are saying, yeah, but you let Iran be in charge of that strait moving 0.91
00:08:10.260 forward.
00:08:10.760 And that is concerning.
00:08:12.860 Now, that is one of the most important shipping lanes on Earth.
00:08:16.880 It carries a huge percentage of the world's energy supply.
00:08:20.160 And Trump says getting ships moving freely is incredibly important and it will reduce
00:08:24.980 the threat of global energy crisis and also help push oil and gas prices lower in the
00:08:30.780 short term.
00:08:31.920 Now, that's something American families can directly feel at the pump and the oil markets
00:08:36.420 have reacted positively as they are now saying that they believe the waterway will remain open.
00:08:43.260 Now, Trump is also emphasizing something else. He believes this is a perfect example of how peace
00:08:49.180 through strength works. He says that he was able to get them to the table and leverage the military
00:08:54.720 and economic conditions to his advantage. Now, Trump also warned that this is not a blank check.
00:09:01.260 If Iran violates the terms or fails to comply, he says America has the ability to return to military action.
00:09:09.120 At the G7, he put it very simply, if he doesn't like what Iran does, we will go back to shooting.
00:09:17.460 Now, the broader framework also lays out a 60-day period to negotiate a final settlement.
00:09:22.960 It includes a ceasefire, commitments related to Iran's nuclear activities under international monitoring,
00:09:29.020 the reopening of maritime traffic through the strait and discussions over sanctions relief and access to frozen Iranian funds
00:09:36.880 that are tied to the implementation of the agreement, something else that many are fighting over in Washington right now.
00:09:44.160 Now, it's important to understand that supporters see this as a historic opportunity,
00:09:49.240 a deal that could prevent a nuclear ran and stop a wider Middle Eastern war.
00:09:53.800 It also stabilized energy markets and bring down the costs for consumers.
00:09:59.020 But many critics in the Republican Party are arguing that some of these provisions involving sanctions relief
00:10:06.680 and Iran financial assets being reopened to them, as well as regional security commitments,
00:10:12.640 could actually give Tehran too much in return before all of its obligations are fulfilled.
00:10:19.840 And the debate, it's not over.
00:10:21.520 The debate, however, is over those provisions.
00:10:24.480 And it's going to dominate Washington in the coming days.
00:10:27.660 But from Trump's perspective at the G7, the message was crystal clear.
00:10:33.300 Trump believes this is a deal that ends a dangerous conflict.
00:10:38.120 It protects American interests.
00:10:40.100 It keeps Iran from getting the bomb.
00:10:42.800 And it delivers economic relief around the world.
00:10:46.160 Next, story number two.
00:10:47.540 There is a very good chance that the frontrunner for the Democratic Party for the presidency in 2028 may not even be on the ballot.
00:10:55.780 Why?
00:10:56.820 Well, Gavin Newsom and the investigation into him and his wife are a big story that the Democrats in the media aren't talking about, but we are.
00:11:06.120 What's even more shocking is the fact that there was a massive plea deal that involved his very close friend and former chief of staff.
00:11:14.980 Yeah, it is one of the biggest political stories that could have a massive impact on 2028.
00:11:19.740 And Newsom is now saying this is all, well, warfare.
00:11:25.260 It's just Donald Trump going after him and his wife because he doesn't like them.
00:11:30.260 There's just one problem with that narrative.
00:11:32.860 This investigation happened before the Trump administration was in.
00:11:37.560 And it was not from Washington, D.C.
00:11:39.780 It originated in liberal California.
00:11:43.140 Here's some more details from Fox News about this investigation.
00:11:47.120 It is familiar. Tell Fox News that the investigation will has actually been ongoing since 2025 and that the probe is based on whistleblower complaints related to Newsom and his wife's personal finances.
00:12:00.660 Now, the case is apparently being handled by the U.S. attorney's office in Sacramento.
00:12:04.480 And as you pointed out, the governor remains defiant, saying today that the president is, quote, coming after my wife, Jen.
00:12:13.480 In recent days, federal agents have knocked on the doors of family, friends and former employees, not because they found a crime, because they're simply trying to find one.
00:12:24.260 They're demanding records. They're abusing the grand jury process, digging through years and years of random documents.
00:12:31.320 So let me say it again. Mr. President, come after me. I'm not going anywhere. And the country is watching.
00:12:38.400 The governor also claims the investigation is intended to undermine any potential White House bid in the future.
00:12:46.200 Now, as for his wife, Jennifer, she's a documentary filmmaker who runs the Representation Project.
00:12:52.880 It's a nonprofit and it seeks to advance feminism through media production.
00:12:56.940 However, that charity has attracted pay for play allegations with critics claiming that what essentially is happening over in the Golden State 0.91
00:13:04.780 is corporations with business interests in California donate to the organization in an
00:13:10.580 effort to gain influence over Newsom. Now, you may be wondering, what about the DOJ? Well,
00:13:15.680 they did not respond to a request or comment with respect to any potential investigation. Well,
00:13:21.840 now to be clear, what you just heard there is this had nothing to do with Donald Trump.
00:13:25.920 This investigation started before Donald Trump was even back in office and it came from
00:13:31.560 whistleblowers within his own government. So Gavin Newsom can cry all he wants that Trump
00:13:37.540 is targeting me and my wife while conveniently forgetting one massive detail. The federal
00:13:42.400 investigation into his shady finances and Jennifer's non-profit pay-to-play scheme began
00:13:48.480 before Trump was in office. Yes, this all began the investigation under the Biden administration
00:13:56.260 and it was people around him whistleblowers from his own inner circle that blew the whistle
00:14:03.460 on the corruption that's right his own team saw the corruption and just couldn't take it anymore
00:14:10.000 couldn't stay silent now the sacramento u.s attorney's office is handling all this which
00:14:16.240 also points back to the point about his lie in his press conference no gavin newsom is not being
00:14:22.460 politically prosecuted this is actually accountability finally catching up to california's
00:14:28.760 most corrupt power couple the first lady and the governor of the state the walls clearly seem to be
00:14:35.480 closing in on gavin and it looks like there's a good chance now that not only is gavin newsom
00:14:41.000 exposed but maybe all the corruption around him and his wife and his former chief of staff has
00:14:47.920 even taken a plea deal pleading guilty to federal charges and that apparently may be his biggest
00:14:54.380 liability not donald trump but his own friends thank you for listening to the 47 morning update
