00:00:00.000 This is an iHeart Podcast.
00:00:02.660 Guaranteed human.
00:00:04.700 Welcome.
00:00:05.320 It is Verdict with Ben Ferguson and Senator Ted Cruz.
00:00:08.860 Senator, we're sitting on a bus.
00:00:10.400 This is weird.
00:00:11.200 It's not your bus.
00:00:12.420 That's where we've usually been.
00:00:14.400 This is the bus with a name on the side of it, Herschel Walker, who is our guest with us today.
00:00:20.280 You got 30 more days.
00:00:21.700 They didn't tell you when you signed up for this.
00:00:23.340 You were going to get another 30 days, right?
00:00:24.800 They didn't tell me that, but I'm ready for it.
00:00:26.860 I tell everyone I was built for this here.
00:00:29.180 Not that I'm excited about it because I wanted to win outright, but if they want to fight 30 more days, I'm ready to go.
00:00:37.700 Senator, you've done a lot of bus time.
00:00:40.140 You've been out here with Herschel.
00:00:42.420 For so many people that don't know what makes him so dynamic, what was it that drew you to him as a candidate,
00:00:49.440 drew you to come to Georgia, and immediately when you found out this was going to run off, you said, I'm going.
00:00:55.200 Well, look, we're sitting here right now.
00:00:57.240 It is Thursday night.
00:00:58.080 So the election was two days ago.
00:01:00.400 We're on the ground here in Georgia, outside Atlanta.
00:01:03.600 We're getting ready to do a big rally here, and it is the beginning of overtime.
00:01:09.360 And, you know, you're pissed off when you go to overtime, but you've got one objective, which is win the damn thing.
00:01:14.840 And we've got right now a sprint from now to December 6th.
00:01:20.760 And I've got to say, look, I've campaigned with Herschel on the ground in Georgia now multiple times.
00:01:28.020 I think we're incredibly fortunate to have a candidate like Herschel.
00:01:32.440 He is someone who has led an extraordinary life.
00:01:36.820 He's someone who grew up with very little but has the heart of a champion, has a fire to compete.
00:01:47.660 And I'll tell you when that really was driven home to me.
00:01:54.700 So when we started, I came out early.
00:01:56.620 We did a rally before, and Herschel was just getting started.
00:01:58.920 You can kind of tell this politics thing.
00:02:00.540 He was sort of feeling around a lot.
00:02:02.040 He had some good stories, had a story about, you know, a bull that looks for some cows and ends up getting stuck with some other bulls.
00:02:08.660 And it was pretty good.
00:02:09.400 It was funny.
00:02:10.220 It was real.
00:02:12.080 But it was interesting.
00:02:13.200 Last time I was here, Herschel was very different.
00:02:16.700 And it's interesting how a campaign changes someone.
00:02:19.580 And what had changed is Warnock had punched him in the face, metaphorically speaking, because Warnock's not a fool and he wouldn't actually do it in reality.
00:02:30.200 Otherwise, this race wouldn't be over.
00:02:34.560 But it was interesting because I could say Herschel was pissed off and he was on fire on the stump.
00:02:40.640 It was a very different, the competitiveness.
00:02:45.460 Look, campaigns are not easy.
00:02:46.980 They come at you hard.
00:02:48.460 They drag you through the mud.
00:02:49.880 They get nasty.
00:02:51.380 I mean, this is ugly stuff.
00:02:54.060 And this guy's a fighter.
00:02:55.360 And we've got a fight right now where the stakes, the whole country, our eyes are on Georgia.
00:03:03.700 And the stakes for every state, for Texas, for every other state, the stakes for the Senate depend on Georgia.
00:03:10.720 Herschel, I think you're going to win this race.
00:03:12.740 But it's going to take every person in Georgia rising up and saying, we're going to fight this fight.
00:03:18.800 And it's going to take folks all over the country.
00:03:21.340 If you care about whether Chuck Schumer is majority leader, go to TeamHerschel.com.
00:03:28.720 Is that right?
00:03:29.220 That's exactly right.
00:03:30.420 Go to TeamHerschel.com.
00:03:31.840 And not just if Chuck Schumer, but if you care and not want Kamala Harris to have your vote to decide your life,
00:03:39.140 you've got to go to TeamHerschel.com because they want to try to buy the seat.
00:03:42.760 And I can tell them they're not going to buy the seat because one thing about it is when you take me into overtime,
00:03:48.580 that means you're getting ready to get beat because I'm going to beat you in overtime.
00:03:52.240 No one is going to outwork me.
00:03:53.780 And I'm not going to just give this seat to Senator Warnock because he's proven that this seat do not belong to him the way he has voted.
00:04:01.200 This seat belong to the great people of Georgia, but he's given it away to the Washington elite.
00:04:06.320 He's given it away to the people from California or New York.
00:04:09.800 Well, it's time for me to take this seat back.
00:04:11.580 I said this this morning on my show, and I said, and I rarely ask people to give money to political campaigns, like directly.
00:04:17.560 And I said, Democrats are really good at raising money.
00:04:20.500 And all of their email lists have been activated against you.
00:04:23.560 They're raising money against you.
00:04:25.080 If you are listening right now to Verdict, you need to give money because if you woke up to go vote on Election Day,
00:04:32.060 then you need to understand that basically there's another vote that's going to take place.
00:04:36.040 And if you're a conservative, if you're a Christian, if you believe in traditional values,
00:04:39.920 you need to check out Patriot Mobile.
00:04:41.880 99% of you have a cell phone.
00:04:44.340 How would you like to know that you're actually fighting for the causes you believe in every time you make a phone call?
00:04:50.460 That's what happens when you're with Patriot Mobile.
00:04:53.240 They are America's only Christian conservative mobile phone provider.
00:04:57.880 And they are a force for conservative values.
00:05:01.460 Now, I've been telling you about them for years and been using them for years.
00:05:05.540 Why?
00:05:05.920 Because they take a portion of my bill every month, and they fund conservative causes in Canada to believe in the sanctity of life,
00:05:12.840 freedom of speech, the Second Amendment, and that is why I recommend them.
00:05:17.880 Patriot Mobile has affordable plans that can save you money.
00:05:21.080 They can save you money on your personal bill, your family's bill, and even your business.
00:05:27.340 They offer the same nationwide coverage as the major carriers because they use the same towers in the same networks that you're using right now.
00:05:36.400 Plus, every time you pay your bill and every time you use your phone,
00:05:39.920 you're supporting conservative values that you believe in with every call.
00:05:44.360 You want to save even more?
00:05:46.600 Go online to patriotmobile.com slash verdict.
00:05:52.540 Patriotmobile.com slash verdict, and you'll get free activation.
00:05:57.840 You can also call them.
00:05:59.720 Switching is easy, and many times you can keep the same cell phone that's in your hand right now.
00:06:05.400 972-PATRIOT.
00:06:06.920 That's 972-PATRIOT.
00:06:09.980 Use the promo code VERDICT.
00:06:12.620 You'll get free activation and other amazing deals.
00:06:16.380 Patriotmobile.com slash verdict or 972-PATRIOT.
00:06:20.380 You need to get on your website, and I want you to say it again because this is going to be an unbelievable amount of money raised by the left,
00:06:28.420 and you've got to counter that, and big donors and the sources of the world are going to be all in on this race to make sure that you lose.
00:06:34.440 That's their goal, their agenda.
00:06:35.900 We need to understand that.
00:06:37.200 We're at war here, and people are going to have to give money to your campaign.
00:06:41.380 They're going to have to, and that was one thing I said I don't want to do is raise money.
00:06:46.560 That's the most embarrassing thing because you start calling people up, and your friends don't want to answer the phone anymore because you're always asking for money.
00:06:53.460 But I said you've got to ask for money because they want to buy this seat.
00:06:57.460 They have no policy.
00:06:58.500 They can't talk about the policy.
00:07:00.000 They want to talk about money.
00:07:01.300 They want to talk about raising money.
00:07:02.840 I said, guys, right now they've proven what they've done in this country in less than two short years.
00:07:07.980 Senator Warnock proven who he was, and in the debate I saw that he was a one-trick pony, and what I mean by that is he's not going to change his direction.
00:07:16.020 And I think everyone heard our president say yesterday with everything falling down around him, I'm not going to change the direction, which means he doesn't care about the people.
00:07:25.640 Well, I do, and people ask me why I'm in it, and I'm in it because I care.
00:07:29.920 I care about the crime.
00:07:31.820 I care about this open border.
00:07:33.140 I care about this economy.
00:07:35.160 I care what they're doing to the greatest country in the world is the United States of America, and I'm not going to let them do it to this country here.
00:07:41.860 There was something interesting that happened in the governor's race here, and I want to get your take on that, and that's the issue of crime I think was a big issue.
00:07:47.720 And I think Stacey Abrams was somebody that obviously was very clear about defund the police and activist DAs and going against things that make for safe communities.
00:07:56.160 I think that helped in that governor's race there.
00:07:59.220 That's going to be an issue I think even more so this time around, and people need to understand where you stand on that issue.
00:08:04.620 You are 100% backing police.
00:08:07.200 You're 100% for law and order, and you're 100% for getting rid of things like cashless bail and activist DAs.
00:08:11.860 Well, you know, I have more sheriffs that have endorsed me than anyone that was in the race, and one of the things about it, I'm always, always going to back out men and women in blue.
00:08:20.440 I believe that we got to have checks and balances of what's going on in this country, and I always say in the great garden of Adam and Eve, God told them they have total freedom, but they also were held to a responsibility.
00:08:32.800 We got to hold people to a responsibility, and I'm running against a pastor who's a senator that believes in no cash bail.
00:08:42.040 A senator, a pastor that believes in having open prison and letting people out of prisoners that are going to make us prisoners in our own home.
00:08:49.480 And I said, I cannot let that happen.
00:08:51.320 Right now, we are good people.
00:08:53.280 There's no doubt you want to show compassion, but you also want to hold people accountable.
00:08:58.020 And you have put the morale down.
00:08:59.920 He's put the recruitment down because he's called all men and women in blue, thugs and bullies.
00:09:05.340 How in the world do you have someone in office in Washington that do not believe in all men and women in blue?
00:09:10.360 Well, I will always have their back.
00:09:11.880 They've always had my back, and I'm always going to fight for them, and I'm going to fight as hard as I can right now to make sure that they get the respect that they deserve.
00:09:19.660 And let me say something on this.
00:09:22.420 Look, in the Senate, the dynamic we've seen the last two years is everyone in the Senate has galloped to the left.
00:09:28.680 There are no moderates left.
00:09:29.860 But even so, Raphael Warnock is on the bleeding left wing of the Senate Democrats.
00:09:37.000 He is a fellow traveler with Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren.
00:09:41.140 He is a true believer.
00:09:42.700 And without exaggeration, I don't think there's a state in the country where there's a greater disconnect between the senator representing it and the values of the people of Georgia.
00:09:54.380 The people of Georgia are not socialists.
00:09:56.320 When you have the sitting senator call police officers thugs and bullies, I mean, this is a lot of Democrats in Washington at least pretend they don't support defunding the police.
00:10:08.300 Raphael Warnock is a true believer except at one period of time.
00:10:12.160 And I remember when I was last here, you and I were sitting down for lunch at a barbecue place, and we were talking about how Democrats win when they effectively lie, and Republicans win when we effectively tell the truth.
00:10:26.320 Because people share our values, particularly in Georgia.
00:10:30.360 Raphael Warnock is literally running ads in Georgia bragging about a bill he passed with me.
00:10:36.380 Yes.
00:10:36.620 Now, let's be clear.
00:10:37.420 He's not running, you know, go for the defund the police socialist.
00:10:40.340 He's saying, I passed me a bill with Ted Cruz.
00:10:43.480 Well, it is true.
00:10:44.940 We did pass a bill, a freeway that goes from Texas all the way to Georgia.
00:10:48.580 It was the Cruz-Warnock bill.
00:10:50.300 We teamed up together.
00:10:51.880 But it says something that that's what he wants to tell the people of Georgia.
00:10:55.260 He wants to pretend that he agrees with regular people.
00:11:00.800 Well, I tell you what, he doesn't agree with regular people when he votes in favor of open borders.
00:11:05.020 He doesn't agree with regular people when he votes in favor of confirming advocates for abolishing the police, which he did.
00:11:11.900 And he was the deciding vote.
00:11:13.720 He doesn't agree with regular people of Georgia when he votes in favor of George Soros DAs to let violent criminals go.
00:11:19.520 And he doesn't agree with regular people when he votes over and over and over again for trillions in spending that is driving your prices up, your food up, your gasoline up.
00:11:29.420 This guy is a radical.
00:11:32.580 And it says something.
00:11:34.400 You know, look, they're not attacking Herschel on what he believes.
00:11:37.920 You know why?
00:11:38.900 Because the people of Georgia agree with what you believe.
00:11:41.680 Yes.
00:11:42.260 You know, when it comes to the police, you support the cops.
00:11:44.820 When it comes to the military, you support the military.
00:11:46.920 When it comes to defending our constitutional rights, the Second Amendment, you support the Second Amendment.
00:11:52.640 That's what Georgia believes.
00:11:54.580 Warnock doesn't.
00:11:55.640 And so to win this race, you've just got to tell people the truth.
00:12:00.680 And for him to win this race, he's got to tell people lies and just go after and smear you.
00:12:06.880 And sadly, that's what they're trying to do.
00:12:08.400 And I understood that when I got into this race.
00:12:11.240 And I was prepared for it.
00:12:12.620 I said I was prepared for it.
00:12:14.060 So that's the reason I said I'm the right one for this job because they prepared me for a moment like this.
00:12:19.700 My Heavenly Father prepared me for it.
00:12:21.800 It has happened to me when I was a little kid growing up.
00:12:24.640 And I've gone.
00:12:26.060 I've done so many great things because of that.
00:12:28.880 But right now, this is much, much bigger than Herschel Walker.
00:12:31.920 You mentioned your faith twice now, and I want people that maybe have not heard about your faith for you to tell them a little bit about you as a person and your faith.
00:12:42.080 I love the fact that you, as many people should admit, you make mistakes in life.
00:12:47.740 You're a sinner.
00:12:48.840 God forgives.
00:12:49.780 You believe in the Lord.
00:12:52.180 And I want people that maybe haven't heard that part of your story to hear it real quick.
00:12:56.200 Well, you know, I grew up in a church.
00:12:57.840 I'm from a praying family.
00:12:59.020 My mom is a minister.
00:13:00.480 I have two sisters as ministers.
00:13:01.920 I have two brother-in-laws as ministers.
00:13:03.900 So I grew up in a church.
00:13:05.340 And, you know, I grew up, as my mom said, I was overweight.
00:13:07.820 I had a speech impediment.
00:13:09.020 But because of the grace of God, you know, I got a chance to go to college.
00:13:12.340 I got a chance to do a lot of great things.
00:13:14.300 And I've been knocked down.
00:13:15.780 I've gotten knocked down some tough, tough times.
00:13:18.340 But because of my faith, God has always picked me back up.
00:13:21.840 And he kept me going forward.
00:13:23.300 But right now, at this moment here, God has put me in this time here because he prepared me for this moment.
00:13:29.380 Because he knew I can take it.
00:13:30.800 Because he knew that they were going to come after me like this.
00:13:33.580 And he knew what they were going to try to do to our kids when they try to indoctrinate our kids with CRT.
00:13:38.820 When they try to indoctrinate our kids by telling our kids if you're white, you're an oppressor.
00:13:44.020 By telling our kids if you're black, you're a victim.
00:13:46.300 And he knew that I would say, no, everyone can be victorious.
00:13:49.980 And by telling our military, you can't serve God and the military at the same time.
00:13:53.900 This is what our senator, a sitting senator, is doing.
00:13:56.860 But, yeah, I visited over 400 bases telling our young men and women that are in service that you are the greatest things that ever happened to this country.
00:14:04.720 That's the reason we're this country.
00:14:06.200 And it doesn't matter what they call me.
00:14:07.820 They can call me any name they want to call me.
00:14:10.300 I know who I am.
00:14:11.340 I belong to my Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, so I don't worry about name calling.
00:14:15.600 What I do worry about is what they're doing to my family.
00:14:18.500 And Georgia people, no matter what the color of your skin, you're my family.
00:14:22.180 I'm going to fight for you because I know right now, and I said it, we are going up against a Marxist.
00:14:27.660 When you want to abolish the police, you want to abolish the court system, you want to abolish the family unit, that is a Marxist.
00:14:33.880 That's what he's continuing to do.
00:14:35.440 And he has no, he doesn't believe in redemption.
00:14:37.620 He said it even during the resurrection.
00:14:40.860 He said that you can get into heaven through good deeds.
00:14:43.320 This is a sitting senator.
00:14:45.100 It is a minister that's on the pulpit, and he does things that I said I disagree with.
00:14:49.960 And this is what's so great about the United States of America.
00:14:53.280 We can agree to disagree, but he don't even believe in that.
00:14:55.840 He don't believe in you having your right to speak.
00:14:58.320 He's taking your First Amendment away, and then you want to take your religion freedom away.
00:15:01.780 That's what a sitting senator want to do, and it's not going to happen on my watch.
00:15:05.480 Well, and let me tell you something, Ben, that I really admire about Herschel.
00:15:09.460 You're talking about his faith and also his love for the country.
00:15:13.480 Listen, Herschel is one of the most famous athletes to have ever lived.
00:15:18.180 I mean, it is, and he's real famous.
00:15:20.860 This is a point to understand.
00:15:22.860 Like, I sort of joke there's political famous that is fake famous.
00:15:26.440 And there are all sorts of politicians that there's an old line that politics is Hollywood for ugly people.
00:15:35.140 And I've got to tell you, there's a lot of truth to that.
00:15:37.460 Heidi says I resemble that remark.
00:15:39.580 But look, Herschel is arguably the greatest college football player to have ever lived.
00:15:46.440 And the fact that he would go, listen, to be a god of the gridiron, I'm guessing, is a pretty damn good life.
00:15:57.080 I'm guessing that for a long time people have been, you know, and I've been out on the campaign trail and see how people react to Herschel.
00:16:04.440 And it's very different from, I've been with all sorts of famous politicians, and I've never seen anyone react to people the way they react to Herschel.
00:16:11.180 But the fact that he would take a life that you're rich and famous and successful and people are nice to you,
00:16:18.380 and you step into the garbage of politics where you know they're going to slander you, they're going to attack your family,
00:16:25.260 they're going to get nasty, they're going to get ugly, they're going to lie about you.
00:16:28.400 You don't have any good reason to do this.
00:16:31.240 For most people, getting elected to office is a step up in status, is a step up in fame.
00:16:35.840 For you, it's a step down in everything.
00:16:38.320 And the only reason you're doing this is you love this country.
00:16:43.020 And your sense of service is real.
00:16:46.940 And it's, look, you have someone like John Fetterman, and God bless, I'm going to serve with Fetterman, and you're going to too.
00:16:55.640 Look, for someone like him, that's a big step up.
00:16:58.000 For Herschel to do this, I think, demonstrates such an incredible love for this country,
00:17:06.140 that it is a demonstration of service that is remarkable.
00:17:13.080 Well, my faith talks about service.
00:17:15.140 That's what you're supposed to do.
00:17:16.140 You're supposed to serve.
00:17:17.520 And right now, it doesn't matter.
00:17:19.200 How could I do well if I see my brother hurting?
00:17:22.120 Right now, this country is hurting.
00:17:23.940 Right now, this country is hurting because of this economy.
00:17:26.220 It's hurting because of crime.
00:17:28.020 It's hurting because of open borders.
00:17:29.840 It's hurting because of everything that happened in our schools, in our military, in our police department.
00:17:35.220 But it's because we have people in Washington that have forgotten about the people that elected them to go to serve them.
00:17:42.120 Well, I said we can correct it.
00:17:43.800 And the way we correct it is by coming together.
00:17:46.060 Even in the Bible, it said a house divided cannot stand.
00:17:50.140 Right now, the people in Washington want to divide us.
00:17:52.820 They want to divide us because they can conquer if they divide us.
00:17:56.340 Well, I want to continue to bring us together.
00:17:57.900 I want to talk about traditional family values because before we started, you were talking about athletes.
00:18:04.680 And the obsession with transgendered athletes and trying to change the way that we do sports between just being men and women, there is a difference.
00:18:13.120 You obviously know that.
00:18:14.260 But as an athlete, you have a very unique perspective, especially at the highest level.
00:18:18.180 And I want to get into that.
00:18:20.260 But before I get to that, Senator, you and I, we said this on the plane right here.
00:18:24.580 We've got to make sure people that are listening today get in this fight.
00:18:27.400 Yes.
00:18:27.500 You went out and voted.
00:18:28.380 Yes.
00:18:28.980 I wanted you to understand we came here as fast as we could because we knew that money needed to be raised.
00:18:34.200 And people need to go to your website.
00:18:36.920 I want you to say it again.
00:18:38.160 TeamHerschel.com.
00:18:39.360 And donate.
00:18:40.400 TeamHerschel.com.
00:18:41.260 Because you understand this.
00:18:42.200 Democrats right now are raising money like crazy.
00:18:44.080 That's what they do.
00:18:45.120 They are printing cash.
00:18:46.360 So I want to speak to two groups of people.
00:18:49.980 Number one, if you are in Georgia, you have been given an opportunity to step up and defend this entire country.
00:18:56.840 I think we are in a good position in Nevada.
00:18:59.280 I think we've got a very good chance at winning in Nevada.
00:19:01.980 Adam Laxalt winning that seat.
00:19:04.340 We have a shot in Arizona as well.
00:19:07.240 But I think that the odds are significant that control of the Senate is going to hinge on the state of Georgia on December 6th.
00:19:17.000 Now, I get for a lot of folks, me included, it's a little bit deja vu from two years ago.
00:19:21.520 We did this before and it didn't end up good.
00:19:24.000 But, well, look, this is a very different time than two years ago.
00:19:27.580 Very different.
00:19:28.100 And I think the people of Georgia are in a position where they understand they have the opportunity.
00:19:34.320 Listen, if there's a Democrat senator and there's a vacancy on the Supreme Court, if a justice dies on the Supreme Court, if there's a Democrat senator, they will rubber stamp the most radical left-wing zealot who will take away your free speech.
00:19:47.880 You will take away your religious liberty, will take away the Second Amendment, who will undermine the rule of law.
00:19:54.320 You look at the radicals.
00:19:56.080 If you don't like the crazies in this administration, look, Joe Biden is nominating people who are extreme.
00:20:04.580 He's nominated three of the leading advocates of abolishing the police to senior positions at the Department of Justice.
00:20:10.300 If there's a Democrat Senate, every one of them gets rubber stamped.
00:20:14.220 Herschel wins and he's going to win.
00:20:16.280 And we can stop those radicals.
00:20:18.760 We can have oversight of the corruption, of the abuse.
00:20:22.660 And so I want to have two messages.
00:20:24.540 Number one, to everyone in Georgia, you need to get out and vote on December 6th.
00:20:28.800 You need to bring your friends.
00:20:29.960 You need to bring your family.
00:20:31.180 You literally have an opportunity where the entire country is counting on you on Georgia.
00:20:36.780 And I'll say if you don't live in Georgia, if you live in Texas, if you live in California, if you live in Guam, if you live in Australia.
00:20:44.380 And by the way, this podcast I was looking at today is, you know, among the podcasts listened to in Australia and in India and Australia.
00:20:52.180 It's listened to in China.
00:20:54.060 I was a little – I'm kind of worried the Chi-Coms are listening to us.
00:20:57.600 They're trying to get intel from us.
00:20:59.320 All right, if you're a Chi-Com, don't give money to Herschel.
00:21:01.900 Give money to Wardock.
00:21:03.880 But if you're not, go to TeamHerschel.com, TeamHerschel.com, TeamHerschel.com.
00:21:10.660 If we do this right, we'll say that more than Lindsey Graham sends LindseyGraham.com.
00:21:14.280 And I think he has that tattooed on his forehead.
00:21:16.900 That's very true.
00:21:17.660 But if you're in Georgia, vote and get everyone you know to vote.
00:21:21.580 If you're not in Georgia, give what you can because this battle, it's not just for Georgia.
00:21:26.760 It's for the whole country.
00:21:27.480 Canadian women are looking for more.
00:21:30.300 More out of themselves, their businesses, their elected leaders, and the world around them.
00:21:34.400 And that's why we're thrilled to introduce the Honest Talk podcast.
00:21:38.100 I'm Jennifer Stewart.
00:21:39.280 And I'm Catherine Clark.
00:21:40.540 And in this podcast, we interview Canada's most inspiring women.
00:21:44.340 Entrepreneurs, artists, athletes, politicians, and newsmakers, all at different stages of their journey.
00:21:50.080 So if you're looking to connect, then we hope you'll join us.
00:21:53.300 Listen to the Honest Talk podcast on iHeartRadio or wherever you listen to your podcasts.
00:21:57.480 Hey, friends.

00:22:24.320 If you really want to protect your future, do what I did.

00:23:02.620 Call them now.
00:23:03.520 855-768-1883.
00:23:06.980 That's 855-768-1883.
00:23:10.780 Or text CACTUS to 65532.
00:23:13.240 Again, that's 855-768-1883.
00:23:18.460 Or text CACTUS to 65532.
00:23:21.660 And now back to Verdict with Ted Cruz and Ben Ferguson.
00:23:25.480 Herschel, this is going to be a family values, I think, fight really big this time around, these last 30 days.
00:23:31.720 Reminding mothers and fathers that you and the Republican Party are a party of traditional values.
00:23:39.500 You have a very unique perspective, as I mentioned a moment ago, as a former athlete.
00:23:42.520 One of these issues is trying to turn boys into girls and girls into boys.
00:23:46.640 I think this is something that a lot of moms and a lot of dads are very concerned about.
00:23:50.600 You have a unique perspective on it.
00:23:52.500 And I want to get your take because this forcing you to believe that women are the same as men and that women should play with men and men should be able to go back like women, it is total insanity.
00:24:01.960 And it needs to be treated that way.
00:24:03.220 Well, it has to be treated that way.
00:24:04.900 It's totally insanity.
00:24:05.840 And, you know, you have a sitting senator that voted to put men in women's sports.
00:24:11.580 And that's sort of like at my age now putting me to compete against your daughter.
00:24:15.700 And at my age right now, I can go to the Olympics and win a lot of gold medals against very, very good women.
00:24:22.380 But there is a total difference between a biological man and a biological woman.
00:24:29.160 And I'm not sure why we don't have more people standing up.
00:24:33.160 Why are we having people not standing up?
00:24:35.180 Because I do know the definition of a woman.
00:24:37.940 And I tell people this all the time.
00:24:39.260 It's man and woman.
00:24:40.980 The woman is made from a rib of a man.
00:24:43.340 They're totally different.
00:24:44.160 And we cannot continue to have and put little girls down so they cannot have their dream.
00:24:50.700 If we continue to do and go like we're going, we're totally destroying.
00:24:54.420 Where is the women livers out there?
00:24:56.120 Where are they at?
00:24:57.080 Where are they standing up?
00:24:58.140 Because they've come so far to have people voting in Washington to send them back.
00:25:02.920 And that's the same as what I said we're doing.
00:25:04.820 We're going backwards rather than going forward.
00:25:07.240 Most of the people that I grew up listening to, Dr. King, he handed off a baton.
00:25:12.040 Well, what did everyone do that got that baton?
00:25:14.520 They just sit it down and start talking about things going backwards.
00:25:17.980 Right now, we've got to go forward.
00:25:19.580 The way you go forward is by giving everyone an opportunity to go out and have success,
00:25:24.200 giving everyone an opportunity to have that America's dream.
00:25:26.960 But right now, we've forgotten about that America's dream because we put people in Washington
00:25:30.620 that want to give up our energy to our enemy.
00:25:33.380 They want to put men and women in sports.
00:25:35.220 They want to get this border wide open.
00:25:36.900 They want to have a lawless society, and it doesn't work.
00:25:39.740 Well, and Herschel, you've seen firsthand.
00:25:41.700 You know, I'm the father of two daughters, and my youngest daughter is an athlete.
00:25:45.460 She plays softball.
00:25:46.900 Your sister had a track scholarship.
00:25:49.260 Title IX has been incredible in terms of giving girls and giving young women the opportunity to compete
00:25:55.860 and compete at an elite level.
00:25:58.900 You know, what does it mean for girls and young women if suddenly biological males can come in and compete?
00:26:06.680 You've competed at the very highest levels.
00:26:09.620 Is that – explain to folks if that's fair.
00:26:13.980 Well, you know, one of the things that when Title IX first was introduced,
00:26:17.460 it was Title IX to make it an equal playing field in the amount of women athletes in the sports they would do.
00:26:24.180 It was scholarship.
00:26:24.760 But then we had people wanting now to bring, let's put biological men in Title IX.
00:26:29.780 That was not what it was designed for.
00:26:31.060 I've still got one-year eligibility left.
00:26:32.740 You've got one-year –
00:26:33.340 I could go back and get a master's, right?
00:26:37.140 Ben is a girl, and that's how I identify.
00:26:38.960 I'm not wearing a tennis skirt.
00:26:40.100 And I think that's what is so sad.
00:26:43.580 That gave women an opportunity to step up like the men would do it.
00:26:47.760 And the same as when you watch today, you watch the women's soccer players,
00:26:52.300 and we have a good soccer team.
00:26:53.840 Yeah.
00:26:53.960 If they wanted to get the same amount of money, the men would get it.
00:26:57.380 Well, now if you take some of the men and start putting them in the women's soccer team,
00:27:01.700 now you get rid of the women.
00:27:03.120 Well, that's not right.
00:27:04.480 And I think all women should stand up and say no,
00:27:07.200 and I'm going to be that champion to fight with them.
00:27:09.220 I'm going to fight for them because it wouldn't be right.
00:27:11.700 And I've said this many times.
00:27:12.980 If you look at a 16-year-old young man, put him in tennis, in professional tennis,
00:27:18.900 he'd have a very, very difficult time competing against the men.
00:27:22.560 But if you take a 16-year-old young woman, put her at a professional level,
00:27:26.520 and she's a good tennis player, she can compete,
00:27:28.560 that just shows you the difference, the biological difference between a man and a woman.
00:27:33.420 That's a big difference.
00:27:34.480 And I think people need to realize that, that have played the sport.
00:27:36.880 We need to protect women's sports.
00:27:38.080 We need to protect women's sports.
00:27:39.620 We need to protect women's rights.
00:27:41.560 Because if you can put a biological man in women's sports, what else are you going to start doing?
00:27:46.220 Because they talked about a man can get pregnant.
00:27:48.840 Well, I'm here to tell you, no, they can't.
00:27:50.340 No, they can't.
00:27:51.040 We need to erase that out.
00:27:52.460 There's a reason why you can't.
00:27:53.300 I said this the other day.
00:27:54.360 I said, you know something's impossible when no one in Vegas will let you bet on it.
00:27:57.860 Yes.
00:27:58.640 You cannot bet on that in Vegas.
00:28:00.120 You just can't.
00:28:00.920 And look, I'll say, when you're dealing with biological men playing women's sports, this is not even an issue.
00:28:06.560 Sometimes people say, well, it's LGBT, trans, it's all this.
00:28:10.180 No, this is a basic question of fairness.
00:28:11.920 And let's be clear, the reason it's unfair is because you've got, on average, men have larger body mass and greater strength.
00:28:19.840 That's not true of every man.
00:28:20.860 That's not true of every woman.
00:28:21.740 But there are significant differences.
00:28:24.520 And by the way, if there's a woman who wants to compete in men's sports, that's fine.
00:28:31.060 If she's able to do so, and you see that a couple of times, you'll see some field goal kickers in football, that's fine because it's not unfair.
00:28:42.540 It's not exploiting an advantage.
00:28:44.180 I ask a very simple question.
00:28:46.400 Why is there a WNBA?
00:28:48.660 I mean, why have a WNBA?
00:28:50.300 You know, look, there's some great players in the WNBA, but if they had to play against LeBron James, they wouldn't stand a chance.
00:28:58.420 And it's a question of fairness.
00:29:00.260 I mean, look, in addition to being a football legend, you were also a track star.
00:29:04.040 You raced against Carl Lewis and Beaton.
00:29:05.760 Yes, yes, I have.
00:29:07.420 And that's how I said, as you look at the times, the times are so much different, whereas the women, Olympic women, times are still in the, they're not even, to call it men times,
00:29:17.520 they're even better than Olympic women times.
00:29:19.360 That shows a big difference in a biological man and a biological woman.
00:29:24.280 And if you, look, if a woman suddenly is able to run and beat the men, great, more power to her.
00:29:29.320 But it's not fair to say that if she's the best woman alive at the sport, well, tough, you're still going to have to go against men that have, you know, an additional hundred pounds of body mass and strength and try to compete with that.
00:29:44.580 Yes.
00:29:45.140 It's shocking.
00:29:45.820 I want to get to the border issue.
00:29:47.080 And, Senator, you need allies on the border issue.
00:29:49.700 Obviously, Georgia, not a border state.
00:29:52.100 You guys still deal with illegal immigration here.
00:29:54.640 You know how much of a disaster is.
00:29:56.520 I think it's very clear the policy of the Biden administration is to open, have an open border.
00:30:00.660 Nothing's being done down there by accident.
00:30:02.240 This is on purpose.
00:30:03.120 It's deliberate.
00:30:03.680 This is a very important vote that we need in the Senate.
00:30:07.480 But let me say this here.
00:30:08.460 This is important for you.
00:30:08.920 A lot of people don't know that 70 percent of the drugs coming from the border goes through Atlanta, Georgia.
00:30:15.180 And even though Georgia is not a border state, but 70 percent of the drugs are redistributed out of Atlanta because of the port and because of the airport.
00:30:23.880 So we're not a border state, but the border is so, so important to every state, not just to Georgia or border towns, but important.
00:30:31.720 But you've got to do.
00:30:32.680 There's laws on the book.
00:30:34.780 This is a great country.
00:30:36.000 And not to be mean, but you don't see anyone during these tough times now trying to cross over into China, trying to cross over into Russia,
00:30:42.480 because this is the greatest country in the world.
00:30:44.800 And if we don't have the laws on the books and keep our borders secured, we've got problems.
00:30:51.180 It's certainly an issue, too, fentanyl and the drugs, especially in the African-American community.
00:30:56.460 I was truly shocked when I was watching local news talking about your race,
00:31:02.560 and they were acting like there was only one African-American man in the race.
00:31:06.440 Does that offend you a little bit that they act like Warnock's the guy that's the true minority candidate?
00:31:11.620 They seem to overlook it with you, and you know the African-American community.
00:31:15.860 You live in the African-American.
00:31:17.100 You grew up.
00:31:17.800 You understand the problems and drugs are one of those issues that you talk about here in Georgia.
00:31:23.480 Well, the media is never going to be my friend, and I know that.
00:31:26.820 But like I said, that's what I knew when I got into this race.
00:31:29.320 That's the same as when they're talking about abortion.
00:31:31.900 And that's why I said if no one has ever seen the debate of Warnock Walker,
00:31:35.600 I wish they could see the debate because that was a question I asked him.
00:31:38.720 Because, you know, he's a sitting senator, but he also is a pastor,
00:31:42.940 and he believes in abortion with no exception.
00:31:45.740 He believes in abortion.
00:31:46.680 He believes that nine months a woman can abort a baby.
00:31:50.420 He even said, he voted that if your baby have a, I got to get it right, right, right,
00:31:59.280 that he voted also that if your baby survived an abortion,
00:32:04.320 that he would deny that baby medical care.
00:32:06.680 That is very, very extreme right there.
00:32:09.400 And he is a pastor.
00:32:10.700 But I asked a question to him because I said, you are a pastor.
00:32:14.680 Well, he said a doctor and a patient and a government can't be in the same room.
00:32:20.600 But he forgot that there's a baby in that room also.
00:32:23.160 And he forgot he's also trying to bring the government back in the room
00:32:25.680 because he wanted the government to pay for it.
00:32:27.500 But if he believes in what he talks about, because he's always talking about separation,
00:32:32.000 he's always talking about the color of your skin.
00:32:33.740 In Atlanta, Georgia, the majority of the baby aborted a black.
00:32:38.220 So does he believe in Black Lives Matter?
00:32:40.080 Does he believe in that?
00:32:41.360 So he has to stand behind things that he preaches about.
00:32:44.320 He has to stand behind things that he says.
00:32:46.360 But don't just say quotes from the Bible without saying the whole Bible verse.
00:32:50.880 And I think that is the problem.
00:32:52.240 That's the reason I say he's a one-trick pony.
00:32:54.260 But that's the reason I said people,
00:32:55.840 we have to vote for people that believe in what they're saying.
00:32:58.600 And the reason I got into this race, I believe in the people.
00:33:02.160 We should turn this back over to the people because the people are the one that should decide.
00:33:06.920 What the Supreme Court did was the correct thing.
00:33:09.400 Turn it back over to the states.
00:33:10.880 Put it back into the people's hand, which is the right thing that they did.
00:33:14.440 Well, you know, Herschel, one of the things I admire about you is it is really tough to be a black conservative
00:33:22.360 because the left hates you and hates you with a passion.
00:33:29.960 It is a loathing.
00:33:32.760 And the media and the Democrats, they hate you.
00:33:35.320 And they do that some to Hispanics.
00:33:37.060 I'm an Hispanic conservative.
00:33:38.680 And, you know, Jorge Ramos called me on air a traitor to my race.
00:33:41.640 But they have a particular loathing for an African-American who dares to be a conservative.
00:33:50.600 And they go after you in nasty racial terms.
00:33:55.520 Look, Clarence Thomas has endured this for decades on the Supreme Court where they despise him.
00:34:00.620 Antonin Scalia was every bit as conservative as Clarence Thomas,
00:34:04.360 but they never heaped the kind of scorn and abuse because their view is how dare a black man disagree.
00:34:10.020 But I got to say, look, the policies of the Democrats and listen,
00:34:16.220 the Democrats are playing a lot of racial politics here in Georgia.
00:34:19.540 The politics of the Democrats have done enormous damage to the African-American community here in Georgia.
00:34:26.360 Whether you're dealing with crime, when these lunatics let murderers go,
00:34:31.200 who do you think the murderers and gangbangers are killing?
00:34:34.320 And they're killing a lot more African-Americans and a lot more Hispanics than anybody else.
00:34:38.860 Those are the lives. Somehow those black lives don't matter to the Democrats.
00:34:42.600 When it comes to education, Raphael Warnock is passionately opposed to school choice.
00:34:48.000 He wants to trap kids in failing schools and give them no hope.
00:34:52.640 And as you know, if you talk to African-American parents,
00:34:56.400 60, 70 percent of African-Americans support school choice because they want their kids to get an education.
00:35:02.280 In the lockdowns, I was going to ask you about this because I think there was a lot of...
00:35:06.740 I grew up in Memphis, Tennessee, and my sister teaches in an inner-city school.
00:35:12.360 And she said it was heartbreaking to watch the kids fall behind.
00:35:16.060 They were already behind when you had in-class teaching,
00:35:18.640 but really fell behind when it went into the virtual learning.
00:35:22.180 And it opened up, I think, so many people's eyes to the idea of school choice.
00:35:26.080 This is an issue where Warnock is a guy that says the government is, you know,
00:35:30.820 your child is the property of the government, basically.
00:35:33.160 We decide what's best, not the parents.
00:35:35.260 And you want to empower parents.
00:35:36.960 Yeah, but that was an easy reason why he did it because the teacher's union is one of his big donors.
00:35:42.060 So the teacher's union is one of his big donors, whereas, you know,
00:35:45.760 the leader of the teacher's union makes over $500,000.
00:35:48.960 The average salary of a teacher here in Georgia is in the 50-something thousand.
00:35:53.100 So she's making it almost nine times as much, but yet he will have a young kid.
00:35:57.740 Instead of putting the money to this kid, he'd rather go along with the teacher's union.
00:36:01.820 So he talks about education, but he doesn't believe it.
00:36:04.340 And he's a hypocrite.
00:36:05.700 He's a hypocrite, and he knows it.
00:36:07.620 And I called him out on that on stage.
00:36:09.320 That's the reason he got upset because if he really believed in school choice,
00:36:13.460 if he believes in charter school, he would have said it.
00:36:16.020 But he didn't say it because he didn't want to offend the teacher's union
00:36:18.400 because they have no say in charter schools.
00:36:21.040 And to be clear, you are absolutely in favor of those things.
00:36:24.280 Oh, I am.
00:36:25.840 You're a hardcore proponent of those.
00:36:27.880 I am because every kid deserves the right to an average good education,
00:36:32.820 and that's the way you can get it by putting the money in the student rather than the institution.
00:36:37.020 And also I believe that teachers should make more money.
00:36:39.940 But I think the teacher's union shouldn't have a say.
00:36:42.780 And they've relished at closing down schools that kids didn't get the education they deserve,
00:36:48.000 but yet the private schools were open.
00:36:51.120 They were okay with that.
00:36:52.300 So Senator Warnock, do not practice what he preached.
00:36:55.160 Well, and every time that Raphael Warnock has voted on school choice, he's voted against it.
00:37:00.300 Every time he's had a vote on school shutdowns, he's voted in favor of school shutdowns.
00:37:05.020 We had a vote that I forced on the Senate floor because the D.C. public schools announced a policy
00:37:09.920 that they were going to mandate a COVID vaccine mandate to go to school.
00:37:14.140 And if the kids didn't get a COVID vaccine, they were going to throw them out of school.
00:37:18.080 Only 60% of the African-American students in the D.C. schools, public schools, have the COVID vaccine.
00:37:24.660 I forced a vote on the Senate floor and said,
00:37:26.540 guys, we shouldn't be throwing out of school 40% of the black kids in Washington, D.C.
00:37:32.420 And Raphael Warnock happily stood up with every other Democrat and voted yes,
00:37:37.480 throw 40% of the black kids out of school.
00:37:39.940 I've got to say, it is cruel and it's heartless.
00:37:43.560 And you're right, it is paid for by cash from the teachers' union because that's not looking out for the kids.
00:37:49.120 If you vote for throwing a 13-, 14-, 15-year-old African-American kid out of school,
00:37:54.600 turning him into a school dropout,
00:37:56.600 you know that he's much more likely going to go down the road to drugs, to crime.
00:38:00.800 You're destroying that kid's life, and yet the Democrats are perfectly happy to do it.
00:38:04.560 I'll tell you, the teacher union money is going to come into this race.
00:38:06.940 Yes.
00:38:07.200 And I will say this to everybody listening.
00:38:09.360 Please share this podcast so that people get to know Herschel more.
00:38:12.480 They understand what type of person he is and why it's so important to give.
00:38:16.340 Go to TeamHerschel.com and give money because we're up against, as you said, the teachers' unions.
00:38:22.620 And I think this is going to be a nationwide issue.
00:38:26.660 And I will remind conservatives because I want to put this so you understand.
00:38:29.540 If you think that Georgia isn't going to affect your life, you're wrong.
00:38:32.300 If you think this election isn't going to affect your life, you're wrong.
00:38:35.780 And if you went out and vote on Tuesday for conservative candidates, then this is what you need to do next.
00:38:40.440 This is overtime, and you need to buy a ticket to watch the rest of the game.
00:38:44.460 And that means investing in the race that is going to have a huge impact in this country.
00:38:49.200 Go to TeamHerschel.com.
00:38:50.480 I want to go to another issue real quick because I know we've got to get to the event, but this is an important one for so many Americans.
00:38:57.060 And that is the Second Amendment.
00:38:58.780 You know, I look at Abrams, and I look at your opponent, and they are one and the same.
00:39:05.000 They want to take away guns.
00:39:06.560 And it's very clear from what they have said they're no different than one another.
00:39:09.900 They want the government to have all the power.
00:39:11.640 They do not, I think, respect the Constitution, and they certainly don't respect the Second Amendment.
00:39:17.060 And I want people to understand where you stand on that issue.
00:39:18.980 Well, I'm for the Second Amendment.
00:39:20.900 And anything that's going to try to affect the Second Amendment, I'm going to be against because we've got to continue to have the Second Amendment.
00:39:27.340 And you want to have people that I do not want the government messing with anyone's guns.
00:39:32.000 And I just think that right now when you have people that want to take away this Constitution, that's exactly what they want to do.
00:39:37.540 They want to stack the court.
00:39:38.600 They want to do whatever they can that's going to hurt the fabric of this country, where this country has come so far, and yet you have people now that want to take it back.
00:39:47.020 And I'm not going to do that.
00:39:48.200 Well, and let me make a final point on this.
00:39:49.900 And you're right.
00:39:50.400 We should wrap up because we've got a rally we need to get to.
00:39:53.060 But here's one of the stakes.
00:39:55.440 One of the stakes in this race is control of the Senate.
00:39:58.060 But at this point, we don't know what's going to happen in Nevada.
00:40:00.940 We don't know what's going to happen in Arizona.
00:40:02.940 If it so happens that we don't win those races, and that's a possibility that we don't win those races, if we don't win Georgia either, it means that the Democrats' majority grows from 50 to 51.
00:40:17.960 What does that mean?
00:40:19.120 Well, in the last two years, the only thing that stopped the Democrats from ending the filibuster was you had two Democratic senators that stood up and said no, Joe Manchin in West Virginia and Kyrsten Sinema in Arizona.
00:40:31.020 Now, I've got to tell you, I've served with Manchin for 10 years.
00:40:35.800 And prior to the last two years, Manchin had never once stood up to Chuck Schumer on any issue that mattered.
00:40:41.860 We just saw him roll over and screw the coal miners in West Virginia and give in to the Green New Deal on their disastrous bill they just passed.
00:40:49.520 If the Democrats grow their majority from 50 to 51, I think the odds grow 80% that they end the filibuster, that they don't eat, that Sinema can't block it anymore, and that Manchin rolls over.
00:41:08.840 And I'll tell you right now, if the Democrats end the filibuster, they will pack the United States Supreme Court, they will put four left-wing justices immediately on the Supreme Court, and if you care about the Second Amendment, I'll tell you what they will do.
00:41:25.040 They will overrule Heller v. District of Columbia, the landmark decision that held that the Second Amendment is an individual right to keep and bear arms.
00:41:33.020 So quite literally, whether Herschel wins or not, could determine whether your Second Amendment right in whatever state you're in exists or is taken away by the Marxists that are leading the Democrat Party.
00:41:47.080 That's what the stakes are in this election.
00:41:49.400 It's important you get involved.
00:41:51.060 Everybody listening, I'll say it again, please share this podcast.
00:41:54.380 Put it up on social media, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter.
00:41:56.920 And most importantly, if you've never given a campaign before, this is a great time to start.
00:42:03.740 Go to TeamHerschel.com.
00:42:05.060 That's TeamHerschel.com and do it.
00:42:06.820 I'm proud of you.
00:42:07.940 I think it's, I think you, and my prayers are with you.
00:42:10.720 The Senator, I'm sure, says the same thing.
00:42:12.420 It's going to be a tough 30 days here.
00:42:14.440 But I have a gut feeling your whole life has prepared you for this moment.
00:42:18.520 It has, and you say you're proud of me, but you don't have to be.
00:42:21.640 This is something I should be doing.
00:42:23.080 And after the Lord has blessed me so much, I have to give back.
00:42:26.840 And I watch men and women in service that they went out and they've sacrificed so much.
00:42:31.160 And I watch all men and women in blue where the morale is down, recruitment is down, but they continue to fight on.
00:42:36.980 And this is just a small thing that you can ask from me.
00:42:39.980 It's just to go out and win the seat from a radical Marxist like Senator Warnock.
00:42:45.980 It's an honor to be on the bus with you, sir.
00:42:47.940 Thanks for having us.
00:42:49.060 Thanks for coming on and taking the time to talk to the country.
00:42:51.040 And we'll be watching, that's for darn sure, the next 30 days.
