00:00:55.040 That makes for good headlines. It just turns out it was a complete and total lie.

00:01:02.000 And finally, Hunter Biden. You know, Hunter Biden had a lot of bravado
00:01:04.800 when the House wanted him to come in, wanted him to come in for a private deposition.
00:01:08.540 And he said publicly, I will not come in in a private deposition.

00:03:14.860 I would like to say that I'm shocked by this story, this article.
00:03:19.160 The New York Post has put it out.
00:03:20.640 Well, talking about this illegal immigrant from Lebanon, he was caught at the border admitting,
00:03:27.560 number one, he's a Hezbollah terrorist.
00:03:29.740 Number two, he's a Hezbollah terrorist hoping to make a bomb.
00:03:32.900 And number three, he says he was headed to New York City.
00:03:37.400 Well, that's exactly right.
00:03:38.860 And I want to credit the New York Post for breaking this story.
00:03:41.440 It's a very important story.
00:03:43.280 This was an illegal immigrant from Lebanon.
00:03:45.460 He was caught sneaking over the border, and he admitted that he trained as a member of Hezbollah,
00:03:51.740 that his destination was New York City, and he hoped to make a bomb.
00:03:54.920 His name was Basil Basil Ebadi.
00:03:59.000 He was 22 years old.
00:04:00.860 He was caught by Border Patrol on March 9th near El Paso, Texas.
00:04:05.980 While he was in custody, he was asked what he was doing in the U.S., to which he replied,
00:04:10.900 quote, I'm going to try to make a bomb.
00:04:14.180 Uh, Abadi said in a sworn interview that he had trained with Hezbollah for seven years,
00:04:22.520 and it served as an active member guarding weapons locations for another four years.
00:04:28.680 Abadi's training focused on jihad and on killing people, quote, that was not Muslim.
00:04:36.920 So listen, this individual was clearly a threat.
00:04:39.820 He said he was headed to New York City.
00:04:41.240 And we ought to, number one, be thankful that this Hezbollah terrorist was caught.
00:04:46.540 He admitted who he was.
00:04:47.900 He admitted what he came to do.
00:04:50.080 But understand, the numbers keep growing and growing and growing.
00:04:56.160 In fiscal year 2022, 98 individuals on the terror watch list were encountered at our southern and northern borders.
00:05:04.000 And in fiscal year 2023, that number doubled to 172.
00:05:13.220 So far, in the first four months of 2024, 59 more people have been apprehended, according to the federal numbers.
00:05:23.060 And understand, for the entirety of the Trump presidency for 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, a total of 30 people on the terror watch list were apprehended crossing illegally.
00:05:36.160 So we've gone from 30 over four years to 172 in a single year.
00:05:42.240 That is what happens when Joe Biden and the Democrats open up our southern border.
00:05:47.380 And it is inviting the inevitable, which is what just happened, Hezbollah terrorists crossing our border with the intention of carrying out acts of terror in the United States.
00:05:58.460 If it wasn't for this incredible reporting, and I want to make sure we give a lot of credit to this reporter who did this, the New York Post, Jenny Taylor, she put this out there.

00:06:15.000 This is the first time we've heard about this because the media reporting it.
00:06:19.580 How many times has this happened where there is someone that is saying the exact same things as this individual, this terrorist, that we don't know about because the government hasn't told us?

00:06:38.360 We have jurisdiction over immigration, over the border.
00:06:42.620 And yet when we ask how many Hezbollah terrorists have you encountered, how many Hamas terrorists have you encountered, they won't answer that.

00:07:19.940 So that idea is thrown out the window and they're still stonewalling.

00:07:26.960 And understand, all right, let's take fiscal year 2023.
00:07:30.000 172 people on the terror watch list.
00:07:33.940 Now that's troubling.
00:07:35.700 But what's much more troubling is the hundreds of thousands of gotaways.
00:07:41.100 Understand that 172 are the people they apprehended.
00:07:44.360 That gives you an indication that the volume coming across of terrorists or potential terrorists has exploded, has dramatically, has exponentially increased.
00:07:55.020 But the really serious terrorists are the ones that don't get apprehended, are the ones that are gotaways.
00:08:03.820 And so, all right, here's how this plays out at the border.
00:08:06.620 When you're at the southern border, groups come across illegally.
00:08:09.980 Many of them turn themselves in affirmatively.
00:08:13.080 That consumes a lot of the energy of border patrol.
00:08:17.180 It's just dealing with people that go find border patrol, turn themselves in.
00:08:20.660 And by the way, when they do so, suddenly the border patrol agents, let's say you've got two agents out in a truck.
00:08:25.920 And they've got 30 people who turn themselves in.
00:08:28.500 Those agents are now out of commission for several hours.
00:08:31.660 They have to watch those migrants.
00:08:34.440 They have to call for backup.
00:08:36.000 They have to get vehicles.
00:08:37.080 They have to transport them to the system.
00:08:39.020 They have to get them processed.
00:08:41.080 There are more than half the border patrol agents are back at the detention facility processing them or are sitting there filling out paperwork or giving them food or giving them clothing or giving them diapers.
00:08:51.960 You know what they're not doing if they're at the detention center?
00:08:55.300 They're not on the border patrolling.
00:08:58.000 They're not looking for drug dealers.
00:08:59.920 They're not looking for human traffickers.
00:09:02.020 They're not looking for terrorists.
00:09:03.520 And so the people that turn themselves in suck an enormous amount of resources away from patrolling the border.
00:09:09.940 And then the bad guys are the ones, the really bad guys, the really dangerous ones, are the ones that evade arrest.

00:09:17.780 And I will say we don't know of this individual how he was apprehended outside El Paso.
00:09:23.880 We don't know if he was dumb enough to turn himself in.
00:09:26.260 If he was, this guy is not going to be in the terrorist chapter of Mensa.

00:09:35.640 I don't know if he turned himself in or I don't know if he was attempting to be a gotaway and they caught him.

00:09:44.700 But I can tell you today, whatever day it is, there are thousands of gotaways.

00:10:00.060 About 10, 20, 50, 100 more Hezbollah and Hamas terrorists coming over and intending to do something worse than 9-11, intending to do something on the order of magnitude of October 7th or even worse.

00:10:19.580 And it is caused daily by Joe Biden and congressional Democrats leaving our border wide open.
00:10:26.300 It seems that the administration is more obsessed with the PR aspect of not telling you guys what's actually going on than they do about national security.
00:10:36.360 What have they actually told you guys in the Senate that you can tell us obviously publicly about the terrorists that are coming across the southern border?
00:10:45.960 Has there been any admission that they're concerned about it or they're worried about it?
00:10:49.880 I mean, I know the FBI director has changed his tune in the last three or four months, obviously, and is saying he's very concerned about those on known terrorists or those on the watch list coming across the southern border.
00:11:00.540 But the rest of the administration seems to be completely silent on that.
00:11:05.220 Well, the FBI, it's interesting, the administrator of the FBI has changed his tune.
00:11:09.480 He has been in the past few months repeatedly and loudly warning of the risk of a terror attack.
00:11:14.900 And I have to assume it's because what the FBI is seeing, that they are, number one, terrified.
00:11:20.760 But number two, I think they view it as almost inevitable.
00:11:23.120 We will see a terror attack.
00:11:24.640 And they want to get that on record.
00:11:26.180 But you know what?
00:11:27.060 Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, a single Democrat senator, a single Democrat House member, all of them are silent.

00:11:37.880 Look, what we need is we need is we need just an orderly process of the border, not to keep they're not vermin.

00:13:15.420 Final question, I want to get your response to the White House Press Secretary, Jean-Pierre, and what she said about the open border and him not using executive action to secure the southern border, which I know is a problem.

00:13:30.360 But also the second part I want to ask you, Senator, is if there was, God forbid, a terrorist attack, do you think this administration would not move immediately to secure the border through executive action?
00:13:40.300 And I say that in reference to this from the White House Press Secretary.
00:13:43.340 Take a listen.
00:13:44.240 The president said yesterday that he was hoping executive action on the border would happen by itself, that Congress would legislate it.
00:13:51.720 Can you just confirm for us that this indicates that he's no longer considering executive action on the border?
00:13:58.560 Well, the president has been very clear, and I've been very clear.
00:14:01.180 Anytime I've asked about executive actions here, the bottom line, the bottom line is in order to have actually have change, extensive change, real change, comprehensive change, that Senate bill that was negotiated between Republicans and obviously Democrats in the Senate would have been the best way to go.
00:14:21.180 It would have been the toughest, fairest piece of legislation, law, if you will, if it had been moved and the president was able to sign it into law.
00:14:29.200 And that's what's important.
00:14:30.740 The president is trying to make it very clear no executive action would have that effect, the effect that this bipartisan negotiation would have had.
00:14:38.840 I mean, Senator, you hear that, and then it's like, OK, what if there is something that, heaven forbid, happens?
00:14:44.300 Are they going to stick to that same line, or would they pivot quickly?
00:14:48.180 Well, unfortunately, I don't think they would pivot quickly.
00:14:50.700 I think they would immediately look to put the blame anywhere else but themselves, because we've seen that pattern over and over and over again.
00:14:57.280 Listen, when I listened to that press conference with Corrine Jean-Pierre, it saddens me to say, but how do you know when Corrine Jean-Pierre is lying?

00:15:08.780 Everything that woman says from the podium at the White House on behalf of the president of the United States is a lie and a deliberate lie.

00:17:51.440 But instead, Joe Biden decided, I'm going to let this guy go.

00:28:48.500 I guarantee you there will be people, millions of people who believe, well, Trump threatened a bloodbath if he doesn't win.

00:29:49.900 And, you know, it's funny how the media will go and lie to you over claiming there's this bloodbath if Trump wins and taking it out of taking out of context.
00:29:58.940 But then you look at another story, which you would think they would have reported on over the weekend.
00:30:05.040 And there was complete, I would call it malfeasance by not talking about this.
00:30:11.680 Joe Biden, they had no they had no problem talking about his son, Hunter Biden, when he went to Washington, D.C., when he had that press conference, when he said, I will not testify behind closed doors because Republicans are going to lie about what I say.
00:30:24.320 And I will only do it in a public hearing.
00:30:26.700 I demand a public hearing.
00:30:28.240 And there was a big charade.
00:30:29.380 It was in front of the Capitol where you serve, Senator.
00:30:32.460 And now we found out that there is a public hearing that's coming.
00:30:37.800 And Hunter Biden has rejected the GOP invitation for the public hearing after demanding that the same GOP give him a damn public hearing and demanded it in Washington in front of the Capitol.
00:30:52.560 Well, this was all theatrics and it was all dishonest theatrics by Hunter Biden and his legal team and by Joe Biden and the White House.
00:31:00.460 But but as you noted, Hunter Biden said from the beginning that he only wanted to testify in public.

00:31:09.420 So the House has taken him up on it and invited him, said, come testify on March 20th.

00:31:38.920 And in fact, let me read what what what what Abby Lowell, who's Hunter Biden's lawyer, wrote, quote, your blatant plan for media event is not a proper proceeding, but an obvious attempt to throw a Hail Mary pass after the game has ended.

00:31:56.580 Biden could satisfy your prior requests at your press conference after the January 10th, 2024 committee hearing to hold Mr.
00:32:05.820 Biden in contempt.
00:32:06.780 You stated, quote, all we need are people to come in for the depositions and then we'll be finished.
00:32:12.540 We just need people to show up to the depositions and we'll wrap this up.

00:32:20.340 Biden did just as you asked and as you as you did when you announced that witnesses could choose depositions.

00:36:23.460 But look, there's an aspect of Hunter Biden that could offer, in my opinion, a huge opportunity for conservatives to capitalize on just how corrupt Joe Biden is.
00:36:36.800 Because you never know what he's going to say or how angry he's going to get or how self-righteous he's going to be.
00:36:43.400 And part of having a public hearing is getting to ask him those uncomfortable questions that need to be answered.
00:36:49.140 But you don't know what he's going to do.

00:37:48.380 And we saw big tech silence and censor it.
00:37:51.700 We saw Facebook and Twitter block anyone sharing it.
00:37:54.840 We saw big tech threaten to deplatform any media outlets that reported on it.
00:37:59.880 And media outlets like Politico happily obeyed big tech and simply kept it secret.
00:38:06.180 What was in the Hunter Biden laptop.
00:38:07.760 Mind you, the Hunter Biden laptop was real.
00:38:10.100 It was accurate.
00:38:11.020 It had evidence of multiple felonies.
00:38:13.060 And mind you, also, the Department of Justice and the FBI knew that it was real and accurate
00:38:17.220 because they had the laptop in their possessions and they had had it for over a year.
00:38:22.860 But particularly as you get closer to an election, their objective is do not let the American people
00:38:28.660 see things that demonstrate Joe Biden's criminal culpability.

00:38:35.100 The reason to have Hunter Biden testify is so the American people can look him in the eye.

00:39:11.760 But I think Hunter Biden ought to be alone at that table.

00:39:16.040 And you can use the answers from the other witnesses to cross-examine him.
00:39:20.460 I also hope, if and when Hunter testifies, that there's a degree of coordination.
00:39:26.800 One of the problems when you have a hearing is if you've got lots of individual members, lots of House members,
00:39:31.920 each of whom has five minutes, you will often have people go on marches in one direction or another,
00:39:38.780 and they don't follow up on anything, and it's kind of whatever any individual member wants to do.
00:39:42.980 They just ask that, and some of them are not very good cross-examiners, so they can't follow up.
00:39:47.480 And it doesn't present a coherent storyline.
00:39:51.580 It doesn't systematically dismantle the lies.
00:39:55.440 What I hope is that James Comer and or Jim Jordan, the chairman, sit down with their Republican members,
00:40:02.740 that they plan out a strategy for the hearing, a strategy for the cross-examination,
00:40:08.440 that they assign each member of the committee, okay, you've got this point.
00:40:13.280 This point, here are the questions that will be helpful to ask, and you drive a systematic message.
00:40:19.320 That's something in the Commerce Committee.
00:40:21.420 I'm the ranking member on the Senate Committee of Commerce, Science, and Transportation.
00:40:24.920 On major hearings, that's exactly what I try to do.
00:40:27.600 In the Senate Judiciary Committee, we have done that on multiple hearings.
00:40:31.320 For example, the Brett Kavanaugh hearing.
00:40:33.640 That was a major fight.
00:40:35.320 We sat and we strategized exactly how we were going to handle the cross-examination, the messaging.
00:40:41.280 I hope the House does that.
00:40:43.140 But none of that matters unless you get Hunter at the witness stand, sworn in, and on national television.
00:40:52.500 Because, listen, if Hunter's testifying, as much as the media wants to hide it from the American people,
00:40:57.780 they cannot completely do so.
00:41:00.400 And it gives the American people the chance to decide, is the President of the United States corrupt?
00:41:06.100 Has he taken bribes from Chinese communists, from Russians, from Ukrainians, from foreign oligarchs?
00:41:12.500 It lets the American people decide when Hunter sent a WhatsApp text to a Chinese communist threatening his father's punishment
00:41:24.040 if the Chinese communists didn't send him millions of dollars.
00:41:28.460 Was Dad complicit in that shakedown?

00:41:34.100 But seeing Hunter being forced to answer those questions goes a long way to letting the American people decide based on the facts.
