00:00:37.540 After 14 months of active war between Israel and Hezbollah, that war is going to come to

00:00:45.940 The Biden White House is taking credit for it, is celebrating it as a major victory.
00:00:50.160 And there's no doubt this is a serious defeat for Hezbollah.
00:00:53.480 In many respects, this is a victory for the people of Israel.
00:00:57.060 At the same time, we're going to break down what exactly it means because there's more
00:01:01.100 to this than meets the eyes.
00:01:03.080 And we're going to explain that.
00:01:04.560 We're going to talk about why this ceasefire was signed right now, why it was signed in
00:01:11.020 the transition between Biden and Trump, and what are the consequences going forward.

00:04:18.720 It was very clear that Joe Biden wanted this.
00:04:22.100 This very well may be his last big moment as president in the Rose Garden.
00:04:26.840 He was wanting to take major credit for this deal getting done and saying, well, now it's
00:04:32.100 time for Israel to kind of move on past killing terrorists.
00:04:35.820 Well, this war, this active and hot war between Israel and Hezbollah has been waging for 14
00:04:42.780 months now.
00:04:43.740 And it happened on October 7th, a year ago, when Hamas attacked Israel, murdered over
00:04:49.780 1,200 Israelis and in the greatest mass murder of Jews in a single day since the Holocaust.
00:04:56.740 Immediately after that, Hezbollah.
00:04:58.800 So Gaza, Hamas attacks southern Israel.
00:05:04.360 Gaza is in the southern part of Israel.
00:05:06.880 Lebanon is to the north and Hamas and Hezbollah are two separate terrorist groups, but they're
00:05:13.360 both proxies of the nation of Iran.
00:05:15.300 They're both funded by Iran.
00:05:16.700 Both Hamas and Hezbollah receive over 90% of their funds from Iran.
00:05:21.520 And so once Hamas carried out October 7th in southern Israel, Hezbollah responded by launching
00:05:28.480 thousands and thousands of missiles into northern Israel.
00:05:31.360 And as a consequence, northern Israel has evacuated.
00:05:35.020 Tens of thousands of Israeli citizens have evacuated from northern Israel, have been evacuated
00:05:40.160 for many, many months, unable to go to their homes because Hezbollah has been raining rockets
00:05:45.160 onto them.
00:05:46.460 And so Israel responded with overwhelming force, taking out Hezbollah's leadership, taking out
00:05:52.140 many, many of their terrorists, devastating their infrastructure.
00:05:56.120 And today they announced a ceasefire.
00:06:00.700 Now, Joe Biden announced the ceasefire from the Rose Garden.
00:06:06.820 And Biden said, let me quote, quote, let's be clear.
00:06:10.820 Israel did not launch this war.
00:06:14.080 The Lebanese people did not seek that war either, nor did the United States.
00:06:19.460 Security for the people of Israel and Lebanon cannot be achieved only on the battlefield.
00:06:23.140 And that's why I directed my team to work with the governments of Israel and Lebanon to forge
00:06:28.320 a ceasefire to bring a conflict between Israel and Hezbollah to a close.
00:06:33.180 Now, I got to say, that's an infuriating statement.
00:06:35.320 We're going to play more of it in just a second.
00:06:36.700 But it's an infuriating statement because it continues the Biden administration's practice
00:06:41.380 of drawing an equivalence between, gosh, you know, Hezbollah's in the wrong, Israel's
00:06:46.540 in the wrong.
00:06:47.120 They're just all in the wrong and wise old me is going to tell them to put down their
00:06:52.960 arms.
00:06:53.520 Let's be clear.
00:06:54.340 It wasn't Israel that invaded Gaza.
00:06:56.360 It was Hamas that invaded southern Israel and murdered 1,200 civilians, raped women and
00:07:02.180 little girls.
00:07:03.240 Let's be clear.
00:07:04.120 It wasn't Israel that invaded Lebanon.
00:07:06.420 Rather, it was Hezbollah that launched thousands and thousands of rockets, murdering civilians into
00:07:13.180 northern Israel.
00:07:14.020 In terms of who launched this war, it was not Israel.
00:07:18.640 And well, OK, look, you've heard me say that.
00:07:21.700 Listen to Joe Biden talking in the Rose Garden.
00:07:24.500 Getting all this done will require making some hard choices.
00:07:27.880 Israel has been told, has been bold on the battlefield.
00:07:31.880 Iran and its proxies have paid a very heavy price.
00:07:35.380 Now Israel must be bold in turning tactical gains against Iran and its proxies into a coherent
00:07:41.120 strategy that secure Israel's long term, its long term safety and advances a broader peace
00:07:48.540 and prosperity in the region.
00:07:50.180 Today's announcement is a critical step in advancing that vision.
00:07:54.520 And so I applaud the crazy decision made by the leaders of Lebanon and Israel to end the
00:07:59.280 violence.

00:08:32.520 Joe Biden and Kamala Harris and every Democrat in the Senate and the House together worked together
00:08:39.180 to send over $100 billion to Iran, to the Ayatollah Khamenei.
00:08:44.600 Joe Biden and Kamala Harris and congressional Democrats have been the greatest friend Hezbollah
00:08:49.240 and Hamas have ever had.
00:08:50.440 Why is that?
00:08:51.140 Because they flooded $100 billion into Iran, and Iran put much of that money into Hamas,
00:08:56.760 into Hezbollah, funding their terror war against Israel.
00:09:00.420 And Joe Biden doesn't put any of the fault at the feet of the terrorists.
00:09:06.320 Instead, he lectures Israel.
00:09:08.480 And look, I got to say, today in response to this deal, I put out a lengthy statement.
00:09:13.720 And I just want to share my statement with you because there's quite a bit of substance in it.
00:09:19.300 And I want to read it, and then we'll talk about what it means.
00:09:21.320 Here's the statement I put out today.
00:09:23.920 Our Israeli allies have accomplished enormous military successes over the last year against
00:09:29.320 the Iranian-controlled terrorist group Hezbollah, killing thousands of Hezbollah terrorists,
00:09:35.620 eliminating Hezbollah's entire command, and dismantling its infrastructure across Lebanon.
00:09:41.200 These actions have directly contributed to vital American national security interests,
00:09:46.760 including directly by liquidating terrorist leaders who had the blood of hundreds of Americans on their hands.
00:09:54.620 Indeed, the U.S.-Israel relationship is at the core of U.S. interests in the Middle East,
00:09:58.780 and American policy should be to provide unequivocal military and diplomatic support
00:10:03.960 to our Israeli allies to fully ensure their security.
00:10:08.680 However, the Biden administration has spent the last four years
00:10:12.900 pathologically obsessed with undermining Israel and boosting Iran,
00:10:19.360 including by coercing our Israeli allies to cede maritime territory to Hezbollah.
00:10:24.760 They are now using the transition period to the Trump administration and a Republican Congress
00:10:29.940 to try to lock in these efforts and to constrain the incoming administration
00:10:35.520 by establishing what they believe to be irreversible diplomatic, legal, and military policies.
00:10:42.820 However, these and similar international policies are not irreversible.
00:10:49.360 This month, I led a letter co-signed by 10 other senators saying that the U.S.
00:10:53.980 will fundamentally reevaluate our relationship with the United Nations and the Palestinians
00:10:59.300 if Palestinian President Abbas fulfills the pledge he made to secure Israel's expulsion
00:11:06.280 from the U.N. General Assembly.
00:11:08.800 Last week, I joined my colleagues in vowing to act against the International Criminal Court
00:11:14.080 for undermining American and Israeli interests by issuing arrest warrants for Israeli leaders,
00:11:19.800 and said everyone involved in the decision should face American sanctions.
00:11:25.620 I am deeply disturbed both by reports that Obama-Biden officials exerted enormous pressure
00:11:32.000 on our Israeli allies to accept this ceasefire,
00:11:36.080 and by how those officials are characterizing Israel's obligations.
00:11:41.120 This pressure and these statements are further efforts to undermine Israel
00:11:46.140 and constrain the incoming Trump administration.
00:11:49.780 Obama-Biden officials pressured our Israeli allies into accepting the ceasefire
00:11:55.180 by withholding weapons they needed to defend themselves and counter Hezbollah,
00:12:00.920 and by threatening to facilitate a further, broader, binding international arms embargo
00:12:07.420 through the United Nations.
00:12:09.660 Obama-Biden officials are already trying to use Israel's acceptance of this ceasefire
00:12:14.040 to ensure that Hezbollah and other Iranian terrorist groups remain intact across Lebanon
00:12:21.180 and to limit Israel's future freedom of action and self-defense.
00:12:26.200 Administration officials, including Secretary of State Blinken,
00:12:29.740 today even downplayed Israel's right under the ceasefire
00:12:33.360 to strike terrorist groups in Lebanon when those groups pose imminent threats.
00:12:39.660 These constraints have been rejected by our Israeli allies.
00:12:43.580 Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said that under the ceasefire,
00:12:48.280 Israel retains full freedom of action to counter Hezbollah
00:12:52.360 if the group attacks Israel or tries to rebuild its terrorist infrastructure.
00:12:58.380 The United States should allow and assist Israel in doing so,
00:13:02.640 and I am committed to working closely with the Trump administration
00:13:05.420 and my colleagues in the incoming Congress to ensure that they are able to do so.

00:13:52.660 well, we don't like it when you guys kill too many terrorists.

00:14:15.640 so let the rest of them live.
00:14:17.780 How is that possible for Israel to survive, Senator,
00:14:21.620 if this is the mentality that a large part of the American government believes is what success or failure looks like?
00:14:30.540 And understand, when Biden says Iran has paid a heavy price,
00:14:34.760 today, literally while he's saying that,
00:14:38.400 Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are refusing to enforce the oil sanctions,
00:14:42.500 and so they're flowing billions of dollars to Iran right now.
00:14:46.080 That is going to end on January 20th.
00:14:48.420 One of the most significant things the incoming Trump administration is going to do
00:14:52.000 is immediately and vigorously enforce the oil sanctions,
00:14:55.800 which will bring crushing economic pressure to Iran.
00:15:00.220 But anyone who thinks that Iran, you know, Kamala Harris said in the 60 Minutes interview
00:15:04.600 that the greatest national security threat was to Iran, to America was from Iran,
00:15:09.960 and of course 60 Minutes, because they were sycophants for the administration,
00:15:13.900 didn't ask the obvious question where if they're a greatest national security threat,
00:15:17.920 why are you giving them a hundred billion dollars?
00:15:19.780 I don't understand.
00:15:20.840 People don't generally pay to arm the people who want to murder them.

00:15:28.380 But even today, Joe Biden and the Democrats continue to fund Iran.

00:15:39.000 the Wall Street Journal had an op-ed today saying what a tremendous victory this was for Israel.
00:15:43.900 because Hezbollah is incredibly weakened, and that is unquestionably true.
00:15:48.680 And it is up to Israel to make a decision whether or not to enter this ceasefire.
00:15:53.700 They made the decision to do so.
00:15:56.000 But understand, a big, big part of the reason Israel made this decision
00:16:01.640 is because the Biden administration put enormous pressure on Israel
00:16:05.360 by cutting off weapons and threatening to cut off more weapons.
00:16:09.180 And in fact, at a press conference, here's what Prime Minister Netanyahu said
00:16:13.700 were the reasons to support the deal.
00:16:15.960 He laid out three reasons.
00:16:18.060 Number one, to focus on the Iranian threat.
00:16:22.060 Number two, to provide an opportunity to refresh the Israeli forces.
00:16:26.760 And number three, to separate Hamas from the Northern Front.
00:16:31.380 Now understand, number two is basically saying,
00:16:34.020 well, the Americans have cut off our weapons,
00:16:36.280 and so we've got to do this ceasefire so we can focus on Hamas.
00:16:39.820 That is the result of this White House and Democrats undermining Israel.

00:26:12.060 A, it was prompted by this White House for extended periods of time,
00:26:16.440 cutting off weapons to Israel.
00:26:17.760 But, B, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris and the Democrats are trying to tie Israel's hands,
00:26:24.100 and they're trying to do it before the Trump administration comes into office.
00:26:27.880 And so what I'm trying to make clear is nothing in this deal ties Israel's hands
00:26:32.540 to protect itself, to defeat and kill terrorists.

00:32:35.620 Tom, you heard this mayor out there in Colorado.
00:32:43.300 I want to get your reaction to it.
00:32:45.020 And I want you to be clear about who has jurisdiction, the federal government or state and local governments.
00:32:50.200 And if you're a sanctuary state or city, are you breaking the law?
00:32:53.860 You're absolutely breaking the law.
00:32:55.080 All you have to do is look at Arizona versus U.S.
00:32:57.180 You'll see this breaking law.
00:32:58.580 But look, me and the Denver mayor, we agree on one thing.

00:33:04.320 Well, because there is a statute, it's Title 8, United States Code 1324, Triple I.
00:33:10.220 And what it says is, it's a felony if you knowingly harbor and conceal illegal alien from immigration authorities.

00:33:19.240 So if we don't want to help, that's fine.

00:33:41.860 I mean, I don't know what the hell is going on in Denver, but we're going to go and we're going to fix it.

00:33:50.020 I love just how matter of fact, and I feel like there's a big change coming and they're not going to screw around with these mayors and let them continue to defy the law.
