00:00:00.000 This is an iHeart Podcast.
00:00:02.500 Guaranteed human.
00:00:04.700 Welcome.
00:00:05.520 It is Verdict with Ted Cruz.
00:00:07.760 Ben Ferguson with you as well today.
00:00:09.700 So nice to have you with us.
00:00:11.260 Senator, I know you're really excited about this idea that was put out there a couple
00:00:16.900 days ago.
00:00:18.540 Entitled in the Atlantic, let's declare a pandemic amnesty and let's focus on the future
00:00:25.540 and fix the problems that we still need to solve.
00:00:28.260 I'm not buying it.
00:00:30.220 I'm not going forward.
00:00:31.920 Maybe you want to do this, but I say, uh-uh.
00:00:35.860 I have two words in response.
00:00:38.420 Hell no.
00:00:40.700 Look, this is, you know, a leftist writing this article saying, let's just forgive and
00:00:45.680 forget everything that happened on COVID.
00:00:47.860 It's all okay now.
00:00:49.160 And it actually, that article in turn was then tweeted out by Randy Weingarten, who is the,
00:00:55.780 you know, the head of one of the big teachers unions.
00:00:58.600 And she said, I agree.
00:01:00.640 We ought to have a COVID amnesty.
00:01:03.680 And basically what she's saying is, okay, look, my policies were an absolute disaster.
00:01:09.940 They hurt tens of millions of kids because I was a shameless partisan hack.
00:01:14.440 I got Democrats and the Biden White House to support school closures for over a year.
00:01:21.120 We now have national reading scores.
00:01:25.080 We now have national writing score or math scores that our kids' scores have plummeted because
00:01:32.500 Democrats shut down schools, because the teachers union and Randy Weingarten in particular pushed
00:01:39.660 it, we also know that the racial gap, the gap on test scores between black kids and white kids, grew by the largest amount in the last year of any time in history.
00:01:51.840 All of that was predictable.
00:01:55.860 And it wasn't just predictable.
00:01:57.600 It was predicted.
00:01:59.060 Many of us, myself included, were screaming from the mountaintops when this was happening.
00:02:05.660 Last year, in the middle of the school shutdowns, I forced vote after vote after vote to try to stop it.
00:02:13.300 I forced a vote on the Senate floor to cut off new funds to schools if they were still shut down.
00:02:19.020 Every single Democrat voted no.
00:02:22.280 Just a couple of months ago, I forced a vote on the Senate floor to stop the District of Columbia schools from enforcing a COVID vaccine mandate,
00:02:33.360 which would result in throwing out of school 20 percent of the kids and 40 percent of the African-American kids.
00:02:40.880 Once again, every Democrat voted no.
00:02:43.940 After two years of unbelievably abusive policies and abusive policies running the gamut from shutdowns that destroyed stores and small businesses and jobs to people being fired for making their own choices about whether or not to take the COVID vaccine to shutting down schools and damaging kids in all likelihood for the rest
00:03:10.260 of their lives with the educational loss that was inflicted, these Democrats now want everyone just forgive and forget, never mind, they ignored welfare.
00:03:19.740 I don't think anyone's willing to do so.
00:03:21.740 And we've talked about why this election is going to be such a big red wave.
00:03:26.900 This is a big part of it.
00:03:28.200 People are furious.
00:03:30.080 People who are not engaged in politics are furious about the policies these petty tyrants put in place that hurt them.
00:03:36.880 And the idea that there should there should be no accountability, that is absolutely wrong.
00:03:41.720 When we take the majority, there needs to be real accountability.
00:03:45.180 I don't want a COVID amnesty.
00:03:47.020 I want everyone who hurt people and did so because of politics.
00:03:51.520 I want them to be held accountable for those decisions.
00:03:54.660 You know, there's some decisions, Senator, that obviously we should learn from right mistakes that were that were genuine mistakes early on in the pandemic that we would learn from.
00:04:03.260 But as you mentioned, many of the mistakes that were made were 100 percent a political decision where people got drunk on power.
00:04:12.780 People decided that their lives and their livelihoods, they should get paid from working from home.
00:04:18.380 They didn't want to educate kids.
00:04:20.400 They didn't look at the harm they were doing to children.
00:04:22.700 And that's the part we should never say, you know, let's just hit pause and move on from.
00:04:28.680 We need to make sure that there's accountability so that never happens again, because even right now we have seen Democratic candidates running in different parts of the country over the last week who have said they would even remask children.
00:04:41.140 This happened in Florida recently where one of the Democrats said, hey, I will listen to the scientists.
00:04:46.800 They tell me to remask the kids in the schools.
00:04:48.760 I'll do it.
00:04:50.720 Well, one of the things we learned is that is that many of our institutions have become hopelessly politicized and rendered corrupt.
00:04:59.040 You know, you look at someone like Anthony Fauci, who has described himself, says, I am science.
00:05:07.140 I embody science.
00:05:09.440 When people are criticizing me, they are criticizing science.
00:05:14.000 That, number one, delusional grandeur is really bizarre.
00:05:20.960 But number two, I don't know of an individual in modern times who has done more to lessen the credibility of scientists and doctors and the medical institutions than Anthony Fauci, because he deliberately said things he knew were lies.
00:05:39.260 And he's admitted he knew they were lies.
00:05:40.900 He said at first, masks don't work.
00:05:43.440 Then he said, you got to use them.
00:05:44.620 He went back and forth and back and forth.
00:05:46.420 He insisted, no, the COVID virus was not, did not escape from the Wuhan Institute of Virology.
00:05:53.400 It did not escape from the lab.
00:05:54.800 It was not man-made.
00:05:56.020 Then, oh, well, maybe it did.
00:05:58.180 No, the U.S. government did not fund gain-of-function research that may well have created the COVID virus in that Chinese lab.
00:06:07.680 Then the NIH puts out, well, yes, we actually did fund that research.
00:06:12.460 The repeated lies and also the correspondence that has come out between the Biden administration and the teachers' unions, where the teachers' unions were the ones who drove the school shutdown.
00:06:24.220 It wasn't based on studies about infection in kids.
00:06:29.560 It wasn't based on fatality rates, which we know that the COVID virus was much, much, much less serious among kids than it was with the very elderly or people with severe additional health issues.
00:06:44.700 It wasn't science at all.
00:06:46.940 It was a political decision.
00:06:49.740 And I got to say, going forward, we're going to need to talk about, you know, we will have some other health crisis at some point in our lifetimes.
00:06:58.500 And it could be, you know, last time it was COVID.
00:07:01.720 Maybe next time it's, you know, God forbid, something like Ebola or something, something that, you know, is really horrific.
00:07:06.780 Our institutions now, I don't know what the answer is, how you actually get an institution to focus on science once it's been politicized.
00:07:21.420 And I think the damage that was done, it may be permanent.
00:07:24.600 I worry that it's permanent, Senator, because there's so many people now that if there is something that happens in the future that maybe is less complicated, maybe much more straightforward, are just not going to trust the health officials, the United States government.
00:07:39.280 And the reason why is because the way that they tried to divide this nation to two groups of people.
00:07:44.920 And I want to play a clip of Fauci for you in a moment.
00:07:48.120 Before I do that, I want to remind you about our good friends over at Patriot Mobile.
00:07:51.400 If you've got a cell phone, this is one of the coolest companies I'm ever going to tell you about.
00:07:56.160 It is a conservative Christian mobile phone provider that has become a force in the conservative movement.
00:08:03.560 Because every time that you pay your bill, a portion of your bill goes to fund conservative causes and candidates that believe in the sanctity of life, freedom of speech, the Second Amendment.
00:08:14.940 And this is where you can have an impact literally every time you use your cell phone.
00:08:19.700 They can also save you money over what you're spending right now.
00:08:24.420 Patriot Mobile, use the same cell towers that your phone's using at this exact moment.
00:08:28.980 So you don't have to worry about a coverage issue, nationwide coverage.
00:08:32.740 And every time you make a phone call, you're standing up for what you believe in.
00:08:37.000 Check them out.

00:09:01.500 That's 972-PATRIOT.
00:09:04.040 Promo code verdict.
00:09:05.600 Senator, I want you to listen to, and this is just a reminder, of how Fauci wanted to divide this country into two groups of people.
00:09:13.620 This was last Christmas.
00:09:15.040 He said this.
00:09:15.820 If someone in your family isn't vaccinated, should you ask them not to show up?
00:09:20.600 Yes, I would do that.
00:09:22.460 I mean, I think we're dealing with a serious enough situation right now that if there's an unvaccinated person, I would say I'm very sorry, but not this time.
00:09:31.780 Maybe another time when this is all over.
00:09:33.900 Senator, that wasn't based in science.
00:09:35.560 That was based in dividing this country into two groups of people.
00:09:38.380 You're either with us in a vaccinated individual that is indoctrinated by the government or you're an outcast and an outlier in society where you're not welcome.
00:09:46.120 Yeah, look, these people got drunk on power, and Fauci was the drunkest of all, and it was whatever he decreed.
00:09:56.260 Now, mind you, we also saw the videos of him going to the Nationals game and happily taking his mask off right when he was ordering everyone else.
00:10:03.340 You must wear your mask at all times, listen, the hypocrisy.
00:10:08.720 Senate Democrats routinely behind closed doors when they were insisting everyone must be masked to show their virtue would take their masks off and they would yuck it up.
00:10:17.880 But it was no big deal.
00:10:18.880 You know, I remember I remember going to Bob Dole's funeral and Bob Dole's funeral was in the National Cathedral in D.C.
00:10:27.600 And I went and I was sitting with other senators and I didn't wear my mask because I was idiotic.
00:10:33.020 It was stupid.
00:10:34.960 And I was one of very, very few people who didn't wear their masks.
00:10:40.080 All the other senators, all the D's were ostentatiously wearing their masks.
00:10:44.500 And sadly, most of the Republicans were wearing masks as well.
00:10:47.920 And the corporate media had a field day saying, you know, Cruz is endangering the lives of his fellow senators.
00:10:56.520 How dare he do this?
00:10:58.920 Now, here's the ridiculous part, Ben.
00:11:01.740 The senators all rode to that funeral in a bus together.
00:11:05.520 We rode back in a bus together.
00:11:08.540 In the bus, everyone took their masks off.
00:11:11.780 A hundred percent.
00:11:12.800 Every Democrat, every Republican, nobody, not a person had their mask on in the bus.
00:11:19.240 When the bus arrives and their TV cameras, suddenly the senators all dutifully put on their mask.
00:11:25.500 And I'm like, I'm sorry, there is no science that justifies that it is more dangerous in a cathedral where the roof is 70 feet high than it is in a closed in bus where I'm sitting next to senators, Democrats with no mask.
00:11:40.080 But once a TV camera is there, then the virtue is strong.
00:11:43.800 This was always about power.
00:11:47.360 There's a question that I get asked a lot on the road, and I'm sure you've gotten asked this question a lot.
00:11:53.480 How is it that Dr. Fauci, and I believe, based in facts, that he has clearly lied under oath before Congress on going to function research, on Wuhan lab, on different issues like you just mentioned with masking?
00:12:07.140 Some of your colleagues have gone after him, Senator Paul, really hard and believe that he flat out lied to them.
00:12:15.740 Number one, do you believe that he lied?
00:12:17.660 And number two, why is it if he did lie, there's no accountability for lying, especially when you're highest paid member of the United States government?
00:12:25.840 He makes more than the president of the United States of America does.
00:12:28.160 There is no accountability because this Biden administration is fundamentally corrupt and partisan and political.
00:12:36.900 I have repeatedly called on the Department of Justice to appoint a special prosecutor to investigate Anthony Fauci for lying under oath to Congress.
00:12:46.100 He came in and he testified flat out that the federal government did not fund gain-of-function research in the Wuhan Institute for Virology.
00:12:53.300 And subsequently, the NIH admitted in writing, yes, it did fund gain-of-function research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology.
00:13:01.780 The two statements are 180 degrees contradictory, and it is a felony, a federal offense to lie under oath.
00:13:11.820 I will say, much to my great frustration, I've never had the opportunity to question Dr. Fauci because none of the committees I sit on, chaired by Democrats, have ever called him in.
00:13:20.980 They don't want him in. So you're right, Rand has had some great back and forth because he's on the health committee, and that's the only committee he testifies before.
00:13:28.820 I very much hope when we have majorities, I hope that he comes before the Judiciary Committee, I hope he comes before the Commerce Committee, and he needs to testify under oath, and I believe he should be investigated.
00:13:39.960 And unless there is an explanation that is not evident on the face of the words, he should be prosecuted for lying under oath to Congress and to the American people vicariously.
00:13:52.720 And I want to be clear, this is one of the things that I think we need to be very, very clear about.
00:13:58.660 We're not asking for political revenge. We're asking for accountability for actually breaking the law.
00:14:04.920 And that's the difference between Republicans and Democrats, especially when they're in power, is Democrats abuse their power and want to lock up anybody that was connected to Donald Trump on lies of Russian collusion.
00:14:14.780 All we're saying is, there are laws, when you raise your right hand, you know that you're under oath, you say you're going to tell the truth, and when you deliberately lie to the United States government and to Congress, there should be accountability for that.
00:14:29.040 Well, and there's a reason that it is a felony, a federal criminal offense, to lie under oath to Congress, because when Congress is having a hearing, it's not just senators asking questions because we're kind of curious about some stuff.
00:14:42.020 We are doing so in our constitutional capacity of representing our constituents and asking on behalf of our constituents.
00:14:50.840 And particularly, look, it's one thing if someone says something by mistake.
00:14:56.740 If you say something by mistake, that's not a crime. Making an error is not a felony.
00:15:02.460 And it's even another thing if someone says something that is wrong, but it's a matter that is not of terribly high consequence.
00:15:12.020 In this instance, the matter on which it appears that Fauci lied is incredibly consequential.
00:15:20.900 I hope and believe when we have Republican majorities, I want multiple hearings on the origins of the COVID virus, where this came from, what the culpability of the Chinese communist government was.
00:15:31.780 Because I'll tell you, this podcast, the verdict podcast, early on, right at the beginning of this pandemic, back in like March and April, when things got started, we did multiple podcasts laying out the evidence that this had escaped, this virus had escaped from the COVID Institute of Virology.
00:15:50.460 It was at a time when social media was banning anyone who dared say such a thing.
00:15:57.680 I don't know how this podcast ended up escaping that censorship, but this was one of the very few places where you could get that information.
00:16:05.720 Now, subsequently, we learned that not only was that research going on, but that the U.S. government was actively funding it and gain-of-function research where you take a dangerous virus and you go in and you genetically manipulate it to make it more infectious, to make it more deadly, to alter it, to make it a hell of a lot more dangerous.
00:16:29.640 Well, that research is, by its nature, and if Fauci chose to deliberately lie, he was concealing it from the American people, the culpability that he personally might have had in the creation of COVID-19.
00:16:50.980 Now, in discussing this, I've several times said potentially and maybe because for it to be a criminal offense, he has a chance to explain himself.
00:17:01.480 I'm not a scientist, so maybe there is some explanation he can marshal, but on the face of it, the statements are blatantly contradictory, and the ridiculous thing is Merrick Garland and this Department of Justice simply won't enforce the law.
00:17:17.380 They don't care at all. And by the way, I will say, Fauci did enormous damage under Biden, but let's be clear, Fauci should have been fired in the Trump administration, and it was a mistake of the Trump administration not to fire Fauci early on because he very quickly began abusing his power and the media elevated him.
00:17:39.460 I understand why they didn't, because the pandemic was crucified him, right?
00:17:45.360 I mean, the real reason why Trump didn't fire him is because his advisors saw that the media would absolutely destroy Donald Trump, and it would ruin his chances of a reelect, to be honest, because they would say, this is how psycho he is.
00:17:59.540 He fires the guy that's been there for as long, you know, as long as anybody's been in Washington, and he's so trusted by the world.
00:18:06.400 How on earth could you possibly get rid of him?
00:18:09.300 Well, and I'm sure that was the reasoning, and there's some force to that.
00:18:13.080 The media would have done that.
00:18:14.480 Now, I would say they're doing that anyway, and removing him from having the power to inflict harm on millions of Americans would have been the right thing to do.
00:18:23.880 But I think there needs to be accountability, whether accountability for Fauci, whether accountability for the teachers unions, whether accountability for the military that fired soldiers and sailors and airmen and Marines who declined to get the COVID vaccine, accountability for the Biden administration.
00:18:44.660 These Democrats want to escape accountability for the decisions they made that were knowingly inflicting harm and that they did so for purely political and partisan reasons.
00:18:59.240 Canadian women are looking for more, more out of themselves, their businesses, their elected leaders, and the world around them.
00:19:05.440 And that's why we're thrilled to introduce the Honest Talk Podcast.
00:19:09.280 I'm Jennifer Stewart.
00:19:10.540 And I'm Catherine Clark.
00:19:11.780 And in this podcast, we interview Canada's most inspiring women, entrepreneurs, artists, athletes, politicians, and newsmakers, all at different stages of their journey.
00:19:21.260 So if you're looking to connect, then we hope you'll join us.
00:19:24.500 Listen to the Honest Talk Podcast on iHeartRadio or wherever you listen to your podcasts.
00:19:28.560 You mentioned a moment ago about you talking about the Wuhan lab and how did it not get silenced or censored by big tech.
00:19:36.260 There's been a bombshell story, and I want everybody that's listening right now to verdict.
00:19:40.380 Please share this podcast with your family and friends.
00:19:43.700 Hit that subscribe or auto download button so you get our show three days a week.
00:19:49.440 This is going to be huge.
00:19:50.980 This bombshell report that came out, Senator, is showing that Twitter and Facebook, not only did they have regular meetings with the Department of Homeland Security to discuss censorship,
00:20:02.760 but The Intercept is now reporting that according to a draft copy of the Department of Homeland Security's review,
00:20:10.960 the DHS's capstone report outlining the department's strategy and priorities in the coming years had this listed.
00:20:20.660 The department plans to target, quote, inaccurate information on a wide range of topics,
00:20:28.500 including the origins of the COVID-19 pandemic and the efficiency of the COVID-19 vaccines.
00:20:37.940 Also racial justice, the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan and the nature of the U.S. support to Ukraine.
00:20:48.080 Translation, the Department of Homeland Security basically said,
00:20:53.000 what are the biggest weaknesses of the Democratic Party going into the midterm elections or in the next presidential election?
00:20:59.300 We will go out there to Facebook and to any other big tech company and we'll tell them to silence these stories that make the Democrats look bad.
00:21:09.460 And our tax dollars apparently have been used to do this now for years, dating all the way back to 2016.
00:21:16.240 This office needs to be shuttered.
00:21:21.120 The people in charge of it need to be fired.
00:21:24.800 The Department of Homeland Security is badly, badly off the rails if they believe their job is censoring Americans to prevent them from criticizing the government.
00:21:36.220 The last I checked, we haven't stepped into George Orwell's 1984 yet, but if these guys have any say in it, that's where they want us to go.
00:21:45.280 It is not a thought crime to disagree with the Biden White House.
00:21:51.100 You know, Biden was going to nominate this loony woman.
00:21:55.900 I don't remember her name anymore.
00:21:57.060 The one who was like sang all the time and was this hardcore partisan was going to be in charge of this office of disinformation and empowered to silence you and me and anyone else that she disagreed with.
00:22:08.240 She was such a loon that they actually backed off and decided not to appoint her.
00:22:13.980 But the fact that this was institutionalized, that this was set up as a regular portal for government officials to go to big tech and say, silence this, silence this, silence this, silence this, is incredibly dangerous.
00:22:30.680 This is nowhere in DHS's actual job function of protecting our safety and security from terror attacks.
00:22:39.460 And interestingly enough, Ben, this also intersects with a topic we discussed over a year ago on this podcast as well, which is, as you know, Donald Trump filed a lawsuit against big tech, alleging that its censorship violates the First Amendment.
00:23:02.240 Now, the challenge with that lawsuit is the First Amendment does not apply to non-governmental entity.
00:23:10.080 So the First Amendment begins with Congress shall make no law and the First Amendment applies to censorship by the federal government or through a doctrine called incorporation by the state or local government.
00:23:22.920 But a private company is not the government.
00:23:25.520 There is, however, a Supreme Court doctrine that has extended that, that says a private entity can be liable for a violation of the First Amendment if it is acting as an instrumentality of the government.
00:23:38.900 In other words, if it is acting at the behest of the government, if it is acting, if it is the means by which the government is exercising its censorship powers.
00:23:48.680 And what we talked about in the podcast well over a year ago was the email exchanges that came out between Dr. Fauci and Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO and owner of Facebook at the time, where Fauci was asking Zuckerberg to take things down from Facebook and to block them.
00:24:08.940 And it actually, it's the same topics we're talking about.
00:24:11.540 One of the things that he was asking Facebook to take down was discussions about the origins of COVID-19.
00:24:17.220 So not only was he not furthering the interest of science of knowing where, in fact, this disease came from, he was actively stifling science, fighting science, saying, no, we don't want any discussions of that.
00:24:31.300 And Zuckerberg saluted and said, sir, yes, sir, happy to help.
00:24:35.220 And I noted on this podcast over a year ago that that email exchange made Trump's lawsuit much, much stronger and would feed centrally into the argument that Facebook was acting as an instrumentality of the government.
00:24:52.840 We subsequently learned that the FBI requested of Facebook and Twitter that they block stories about Hunter Biden's laptop right before the election, again, that that was done at the behest of the government, government censorship.
00:25:08.600 We now know those stories were true.
00:25:10.380 So you literally had big tech censoring and silencing true stories that were politically harmful and inconvenient to the Democrats at the behest of the deep state.
00:25:21.260 And now this latest piece, Ben, that you just referred to, which is this process was institutionalized with a formal portal and a much broader ambit where where some of the stuff like now, you know, disagreeing with Joe Biden and the Democrats on Ukraine.
00:25:38.680 Now, that is subject to censorship at the request of the government disagreeing with the catastrophe of Biden's withdrawal from Afghanistan and surrender to the Taliban.
00:25:49.680 Now, apparently that is subject to censorship.
00:25:53.480 This is it.
00:25:55.020 You're right.
00:25:55.500 This is a big, big story.
00:25:57.160 It is.
00:25:58.100 It is a topic I can promise you when we have majorities next year will be front and center for congressional hearings.
00:26:05.120 And if there was one Democrat in Congress who gives a flip about free speech, he or she ought to be outraged at this.
00:26:17.820 And sadly, my prediction is that Democrat doesn't exist, at least doesn't exist in the United States Senate.
00:26:23.720 No Democrat anymore in the Senate cares one whit about the threat to free speech from government censorship.
00:26:31.240 You know, even getting rid of the senator, the lady who's supposed to be the, you know, the disinformation chief, right?
00:26:36.380 The the the the the the decider of of what is real and what is not in the U.S. government.
00:26:41.680 Obviously, we finally got rid of her.
00:26:44.760 But behind the scenes, this is clearly still going on.
00:26:48.000 And from this new report, it says, quote, there is a formalized process now.
00:26:52.260 And it's been there apparently for years for government officials to directly flag content on Facebook or Instagram and request that it be throttled or suppressed through a special Facebook portal portal that requires a government or law enforcement email to use.
00:27:10.480 At the time of writing, the content request system at Facebook was still live.
00:27:14.820 DHS and Meta, the new name of Facebook, did not respond to requests for comment.
00:27:21.900 And the FBI has also declined to comment on this because they're the ones that basically asked to be setting it up.
00:27:27.600 But what we do know is in a March meeting, an FBI official warned that the threat of subversive information on social media could undermine support for the U.S. government.
00:27:38.060 Therefore, they need to have this there.
00:27:39.840 Something else that's very weird, and I want to get your take on this, is at this meeting that happened in March with this FBI officials warning of this threat of this information, right?
00:27:49.780 This submersive information that could, quote, undermine support for the U.S. government in attendance were Senior Executives Center from not only Twitter, but also JPMorgan Chase.
00:28:02.340 Why would a financial institution like JPMorgan Chase be in on this type of meeting?
00:28:08.780 That scares the hell out of, I think, a lot of people that have bank accounts with JPMorgan Chase or financial accounts with them.
00:28:16.120 Well, we are unfortunately seeing corporate America more and more becoming the enforcers for the woke left.
00:28:22.360 And we're seeing that with the Fortune 100.
00:28:24.960 We're seeing that with big banks where they're trying to cut off customers that they disagree with their politics, whether they happen to be a gun store and supporting our Second Amendment rights or whether they happen to have political views that are out of favor with the current White House.
00:28:43.800 And I think the left is all about power and using power to extort, to force you to comply.
00:28:52.980 And I will say it is deeply concerning.
00:28:57.320 Look, when we talk about energy, Wall Street plays a big part in cutting off the cash for U.S. energy production.
00:29:06.460 And they do so at the active urging and at the behest of the Biden administration, whether it's the banking regulators or the SEC.
00:29:14.980 We're seeing these Green New Deal radicals trying to cut off all the debt they can and all the equity they can for new oil and gas production.
00:29:24.620 They're doing this on multiple fronts because if they can't get it through legislation, they're willing to use power and power over your livelihood, power over your ability to earn revenue.
00:29:37.540 If it's demonetizing a tech platform or power over your ability to to to to have banking services.
00:29:47.840 And all of that, I think, is a complete abuse of power is ever since you went on The View.
00:29:53.740 They seem to have really been unhinged by your appearance, Senator.
00:29:57.080 And now Sonny Hostin on The View has said something today that I think is racist.
00:30:04.940 I think it's disgusting.
00:30:07.660 She equated white suburban women Republican voters as roaches.
00:30:13.020 I want to play this for everybody.
00:30:15.040 This was a real conversation on The View.
00:30:18.100 Republicans.
00:30:18.860 But what's also surprising to me is the abortion issue.
00:30:22.680 I read a poll just yesterday that white Republican suburban women are now going to vote Republican.
00:30:30.600 Why?
00:30:30.980 It's almost like roaches voting for raid.
00:30:33.780 Right.
00:30:34.300 It's like they're voting.
00:30:36.280 It's insulting to the voter.
00:30:38.120 They're voting against their own self-interest.
00:30:40.720 Do they want to live in Gilead?
00:30:42.360 Do they want to get it in the hands of the tail?
00:30:44.040 Do we love democracy or not?
00:30:45.600 Because just saying that it's insulting to the voter.
00:30:48.460 People make up decisions on what's right for their family and the idea that you should have a safe...
00:30:53.300 I mean, Senator, when you equate white Republican suburban women voters as roaches voting for raid, not only, I think, is that a bigot and racist statement, but the fact that it's still not been condemned by anybody on ABC or The View, this is even a new low for them.
00:31:12.440 Well, I guess it's the new war on women.
00:31:15.200 Look, The View, they are all rich.
00:31:21.180 They are all hard leftists, and they are utterly out of touch with people in this country.
00:31:30.140 Sonny, unfortunately, says nasty, offensive, insulting things on a daily basis.
00:31:35.840 But if you look at this comment, so she's saying, all right, if you're a woman, you're not allowed to be concerned about inflation, that you can't afford to put food on the table anymore, you can't afford to fill your car or your truck or your minivan, you can't afford to pay your bills, you're not allowed to be concerned about crime, even though you and your family are at greater risk and you're seeing outside your door, perhaps, crime rates going up and up and up.
00:32:03.420 You're not allowed to be worried about that.
00:32:04.720 You're not allowed to be worried about nearly 5 million illegal immigrants under Joe Biden coming in and over 100,000 fentanyl overdoses.
00:32:14.360 No, no, you're not a woman if you're worried about the people, your kids dying of a drug overdose.
00:32:19.580 Your woman card is revoked, according to Sonny and the elite leftists.
00:32:24.900 The only thing you are allowed to care about, if you're a woman, according to The View, is you must be an abortion maximalist.
00:32:32.840 You must believe that abortion should be legal in every instance, no matter what, up until the ninth month of pregnancy, anything else be damned.
00:32:42.980 And that has to be the only thing you care about.
00:32:45.360 Look, there's a reason why, across the country, we talked about on the last podcast, that suburban women have moved 26 points away from Democrats and towards Republicans,
00:33:01.820 because the policies coming from Democrats are hurting suburban women, they're hurting suburban men, they're hurting just about everybody.
00:33:10.660 And the approach of the Democrats is not, oh, yeah, I can see how not being able to pay your bills and provide for your family and keep your kids safe would be a problem.
00:33:22.640 Maybe we should do something about it.
00:33:24.140 No, what do they do?
00:33:24.900 They insult you.
00:33:25.920 You're a cockroach.
00:33:27.300 That's their answer.
00:33:28.740 You're a cockroach unless you obey us.
00:33:32.260 Now, look, personally, I think the Democratic National Committee ought to take Sonny's comments and pay to run them on every TV station in America,
00:33:42.060 because I think that's really a great political strategy.
00:33:45.200 Just call the voters you want to get, call them all cockroaches, and that they'll clearly understand that you have their best interest in mind and vote to keep you in power for that.
00:33:55.560 You know, it's amazing, I think, how bad the closing argument has been for Democrats.
00:34:00.600 Democrats, you saw the president give his speech in prime time.
00:34:05.460 This was something that obviously was very important to the president.
00:34:09.480 They said to come out and kind of give this closing argument.
00:34:13.600 There were a lot of lies in that closing argument.
00:34:17.560 Make no mistake about it.
00:34:18.860 Him claiming that the deficit's drastically down.
00:34:21.900 Him claiming that people are better off now than they ever were before.
00:34:24.820 But even Biden's chief of staff, Ron Klain, said that Biden's speech last night was, quote, a final warning.
00:34:34.240 Take a listen.
00:34:35.300 The president decided a few days ago that it was important to issue one final warning on this issue to make very clear, to leave no doubt,
00:34:43.740 that we have people out there still peddling the big lie.
00:34:46.800 People now raising the issue of election denial in this election.
00:34:51.280 I mean, he's still going back to January 6th, obviously, still going back to election denial and trying to make the entire election about something from several years ago.
00:35:03.680 This was a terrible closing argument for him, which is the reason why I think a massive red wave is coming.
00:35:09.860 New Herschel Walker numbers have just come out.
00:35:12.660 Walker is leading the Democrat Raphael Warnock now over the 50 percent threshold, which is needed.
00:35:17.660 You and I talked about not wanting to have a runoff there, which is very important.
00:35:22.560 And now look at where we are.
00:35:24.420 Well, listen, I will say in defense of the Biden White House, they demonstrated that they are capable of learning,
00:35:30.520 that they did one thing right, which is from their previous speech.
00:35:35.160 This time they didn't bathe Biden in red light and have him do his impression of the Emperor Palpatine from from Star Wars.
00:35:42.740 So I guess that's an improvement that they, you know, avoided, you know, actually, the Palpatine lighting would have been better if they had Kamala Harris just laughing in the background.
00:35:54.060 I mean, her cackle would have made it really frightening.
00:35:57.200 But look, for a closing argument, nationally, if you look at the polling, the number one issue in the country is inflation.
00:36:10.040 What did Biden say about inflation? Not a damn word.
00:36:14.080 The number two issue in the country is crime.
00:36:16.600 What did Biden say about crime? Not a damn word.
00:36:19.240 The number three issue in the country is illegal immigration.
00:36:21.740 What did Biden say about illegal immigration? Not a damn word.
00:36:25.620 Instead, what did he do?
00:36:27.360 To use Ron Klain's language, he gave one final warning.
00:36:30.880 Look, this is Biden doing the same thing Sonny did, calling the voters cockroaches.
00:36:35.540 And it's a really troubling shift in political rhetoric.
00:36:41.360 It is not uncommon for politicians to attack each other.
00:36:45.420 Biden attacks me frequently.
00:36:47.860 It's not uncommon.
00:36:49.340 We shouldn't be surprised that Biden calls Trump an SOB and that Trump calls Biden an SOB.
00:36:55.780 That, as long as we've had elections, one candidate has said nasty things about the other candidate.
00:37:01.620 That that's to be expected. What is new is demonizing the voters.
00:37:08.880 You know, the Palpatine speech where Biden stood up and said half of America, anyone who voted for Donald Trump, anyone who voted Republican is a semi-fascist.
00:37:20.040 Normally, you don't go after the voters, you don't attack the voters, you may attack your opponent.
00:37:26.860 My opponent's a big jerk.
00:37:28.960 But but it is a strange new threshold where the voters are the bad guys.
00:37:34.700 And that's what Sonny was saying.
00:37:36.040 If you vote, you're a cockroach.
00:37:39.040 You're a semi-fascist cockroach.
00:37:41.340 You know, Kathy Hockel, the the Democrat governor of New York, her comment a couple of months ago where she said, if you vote Republican, if you vote for Trump, get out of the state.
00:37:54.740 You're not a New Yorker.
00:37:56.980 I mean, that's a bizarre statement.
00:38:00.320 I don't know of.
00:38:02.420 Look, I've been actively following politics pretty much my entire life.
00:38:08.060 I literally do not know of another analog of any elected official telling a big chunk of his or her voters, get the hell out.
00:38:19.120 You do not belong in my state.
00:38:22.220 Listen, I say this as a person who is elected to represent 30 million Texans.
00:38:27.500 There are a lot of liberal Texans.
00:38:31.060 There are a lot of Democrats.
00:38:32.060 There are millions of Democrats in the state of Texas.
00:38:34.860 Thankfully, there are more Republicans.
00:38:35.980 But I represent both.
00:38:39.920 The liberal Democrats in Texas, it's my job to represent them.
00:38:43.380 That doesn't mean that I agree with them on every issue.
00:38:45.620 That's why we have elections.
00:38:46.940 I lay out what I believe, and the voters can decide if they want a representative that follows through on those beliefs.
00:38:53.640 But it is my job every day, Ben, to fight for the rights of the Democrats in Texas, fight for their liberties, fight for their free speech, fight for their religious liberty, fight for their safety, fight for their security, fight for their ability to educate their kids, fight for their ability to be able to get a good job.
00:39:12.600 All of that, that is my job.
00:39:14.860 I cannot imagine saying what the Democrats are saying, which is you people are cockroaches.
00:39:21.500 Get out of the state.
00:39:22.520 If you don't agree with me, if you don't comply, you are otherized.
00:39:28.440 And, you know, this goes back to Dr. Fauci, and you're not welcome to come to Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner either.
00:39:35.600 Yeah, it is truly shocking that this was their closing argument, but it is their closing argument.
00:39:41.120 Senator, we'll have one more show before Election Day.
00:39:45.380 I want to let you know we're going to be doing a live show on election night.
00:39:49.160 So make sure you plan for that.
00:39:51.880 You'll be able to listen to that.
00:39:53.840 It's going to be really, really fun.
