00:00:00.000 This is an iHeart Podcast.
00:00:02.560 Guaranteed human.
00:00:05.180 Welcome, it is Verdict with Senator Ted Cruz, Ben Ferguson with you.
00:00:09.380 It's so nice to have you with us across the country.
00:00:12.220 And Senator, let's just start with obviously the most important story,
00:00:16.880 and that has been coming out of Texas.
00:00:19.400 You have spent a lot of time in Kerr County and Kerrville.
00:00:23.540 You're also coming back with President Trump from Washington, D.C.
00:00:27.060 to tour the devastation with him as well.
00:00:29.480 And our thoughts and prayers are still with so many people affected by this incredible, horrific flooding.
00:00:36.000 Well, we are one week out from these catastrophic floods.
00:00:39.320 And the damage in Texas, there are not words that can describe it.
00:00:43.760 I can tell you I've spent this entire week dealing with the devastation,
00:00:47.820 dealing with the little girls who were lost at Camp Mystic,
00:00:51.340 talking with parents who lost their daughters,
00:00:53.920 talking with families who are grieving, talking with first responders.
00:00:56.940 As you noted, on Friday I'm going to be flying on Air Force One with President Trump down to Texas
00:01:02.500 to see firsthand the flooding damage to visit with first responders on the ground.
00:01:10.560 We're going to break that down.
00:01:11.720 We're going to tell you what is happening, what is the latest on the Texas floods.
00:01:14.840 I will tell you it remains seeing firsthand what happened at Camp Mystic remains the most horrible thing I've ever seen.
00:01:22.960 We're going to talk about that.
00:01:24.320 We're also going to talk about President Biden's doctor testified on Capitol Hill
00:01:28.620 and did something really remarkable.
00:01:31.000 You would think about President's doctor, that'll be straightforward, that'll be easy.
00:01:34.800 Well, no, the doctor pled the fifth, refused to answer questions.
00:01:38.840 He said, if I give an answer, that will incriminate me in criminal conduct.
00:01:42.880 We're going to break that down for you.
00:01:44.400 We're also going to talk about the rising wave of terrorism directed at ICE.
00:01:50.760 Left-wing radicals who are firing weapons trying to kill ICE agents.
00:01:56.280 It is a phenomenon that is fueled by the radical rhetoric from the Democrats, from the media.
00:02:01.740 We're going to do a deep dive on that.
00:02:04.720 And finally, the FBI announced an investigation into John Brennan, the former head of the CIA.
00:02:12.000 We're going to talk about why the FBI is investigating him and what that means.
00:02:16.200 All of that in today's podcast.
00:02:18.340 Yeah, absolutely.
00:02:19.620 I want to tell you real quick about an amazing company that is having a real impact in this country.
00:02:24.820 When you are a customer with them, it is called Patriot Mobile.
00:02:28.420 Look, I realize there are many choices when it comes to who you choose for your cell phone service.
00:02:34.200 And there are new ones literally popping up all the time.
00:02:36.960 But here's the truth.
00:02:38.140 There's only one that boldly stands in the gap for every American patriot that believes in freedom
00:02:44.120 and believes it's worth fighting for.
00:02:46.400 And that company is Patriot Mobile.
00:02:48.460 For more than 12 years, Patriot Mobile has been on the front lines fighting for our God-given rights and freedoms
00:02:54.420 while providing you exceptional nationwide cell phone service with access to not one, not two,
00:03:01.960 but all three of the main networks that are used in America.
00:03:06.140 Now, you don't have to just take my word for it.
00:03:08.220 You can literally ask the hundreds of thousands of Americans who have made the switch
00:03:12.740 and are now supporting causes they believe in simply by joining Patriot Mobile.
00:03:17.560 And every call they make, every text they send, and every bill they pay, guess what?
00:03:22.800 They give back at Patriot Mobile.
00:03:25.000 They give back to organizations that fight for our first and our second amendment rights.
00:03:29.800 They give back to organizations that fight for unborn children.
00:03:33.100 And they give to our first responders and our wounded warriors.
00:03:36.520 Now, making the switch is easier than ever.
00:03:39.040 You can activate in minutes from the comfort of your home or your office.
00:03:42.600 You get to keep your same number you've got now, keep your same phone you've got right now,
00:03:46.540 or upgrade to a new one.
00:03:48.300 So why not make a difference and stand with a company that loves what you believe in?
00:03:52.820 Patriot Mobile's all-U.S.-based support team is standing by to take care of you.
00:03:58.060 972-PATRIOT is the number.
00:04:00.200 That's 972-PATRIOT.
00:04:03.180 Or go to PatriotMobile.com slash verdict.
00:04:05.640 That's PatriotMobile.com slash verdict.
00:04:08.480 And if you use the promo code VERDICT, you're going to get a free month of service.
00:04:11.800 That's PatriotMobile.com slash verdict or 972-PATRIOT.
00:04:16.240 All right, Senator, so let's go back to the earlier this week.
00:04:20.120 You were at Camp Mystic, and you're going to be heading back there in just a few hours
00:04:27.040 with the President of the United States of America.
00:04:30.300 And I've got to say, it is so tragic.
00:04:32.820 I know family members tomorrow, they're going to be going to funerals in Houston
00:04:37.200 of some of the girls that lost their lives at Camp Mystic.
00:04:40.720 And we were sitting tonight and talking about just how hard this is for families.
00:04:46.360 But there has been an unbelievable amount of outpouring of support and love from around
00:04:50.460 the country, helping those in Texas.
00:04:53.140 And that is one of the miracles that has come out of this.
00:04:57.000 Well, we are one week out now from these catastrophic floods.
00:05:00.940 It was a week ago on July 4th, in the early hours of the morning, that the floodwaters rose.
00:05:07.200 And the Guadalupe River, who is ordinarily a calm, peaceful, beautiful river, a river that
00:05:12.880 people love to vacation on, to canoe, to swim, 1.8 trillion gallons of rainwater fell on that river.
00:05:20.500 And in less than an hour, the river rose 30 feet.
00:05:25.080 And it carried out utter devastation.
00:05:27.760 As we are sitting here one week into it, 119 people are confirmed dead.
00:05:33.740 And there are roughly 200 people that are missing, that they're still searching for.
00:05:39.080 And one of the challenges, if you look at Kerr County in central Texas, it is a vacation spot.
00:05:45.880 It is, I think, and this is widely agreed, the most beautiful part of Texas, the hill country.
00:05:51.320 There's the reason it's called the hill country.
00:05:53.120 It's beautiful rolling hills.
00:05:54.540 It's canyons.
00:05:55.480 It is beautiful, gorgeous rivers.
00:05:58.760 And so people come there.
00:05:59.860 And on the 4th of July weekend, you had thousands and thousands of people who came from all over
00:06:04.820 Texas to vacation.
00:06:06.720 They were in RVs.
00:06:07.760 They were in vacation homes right along the river.
00:06:12.060 One of the challenges is the local authorities don't know everyone that was there.
00:06:15.660 Many of them were from out of town.
00:06:17.520 They were from across Texas, across the country.
00:06:20.160 The RV camps, we saw RV after RV swept into the water.
00:06:26.280 The vacation cabins, many of the cabins are right on the river.
00:06:29.280 The 30-foot wall of water ripped cabins off of their foundations and took them into the water.
00:06:37.900 And so we don't know everyone who is missing.
00:06:40.380 But the story that has captured the heart of really the country and the world is Camp Mystic.
00:06:49.080 Camp Mystic is a Texas institution.
00:06:51.620 It is 100 years old.
00:06:54.040 It was founded in 1926.
00:06:56.920 And for a century, Texas girls have gone to Camp Mystic.
00:07:01.420 And they make the best friends of their lifetimes.
00:07:05.700 When you go to a closing ceremony at Camp Mystic and the other summer camps that are in the Hill Country,
00:07:11.620 the closing ceremonies are typically one to two days.
00:07:14.080 And you see literally, you see grandmothers and moms and little girls, three generations of women and girls who have been to these camps.
00:07:24.080 And it is a beautiful, wonderful tradition.
00:07:27.140 And right now, the extent of the agony, I really cannot overstate it.
00:07:32.700 Every city in Houston, in Dallas, in Fort Worth, in Austin, in San Antonio, all across the state in West Texas, in the Rio Grande Valley, in East Texas.
00:07:46.560 Texans, their little girls go there. 1.00
00:07:48.500 As you know, my daughters have gone to camp in the Hill Country for a decade.
00:07:54.040 My wife, Heidi, picked up Catherine a week before these floods from her summer camp just a couple of miles away from Camp Mystic.
00:08:03.520 And so the agony, look, if you go to my home in Houston, in my front yard, the tree, we have a green ribbon around the tree, mourning the girls lost in Mystic.
00:08:13.300 Just about every single home on my street has a green ribbon around the trees, mourning the girls lost in Camp Mystic.
00:08:21.020 Texas is suffering, but we will come through this.
00:08:24.240 And we'll come through this because we're coming together.
00:08:26.040 And it is inspirational to see Texans coming together.
00:08:29.340 And we will overcome this.
00:08:31.200 This is one of those stories that I'm so glad we get to shine light on it.
00:08:35.760 Joe Biden's former doctor, when he was the president, refused, Senator, to answer questions in the House oversight probe into basically like, who was running the country?
00:08:47.140 Who was in charge of the auto pen?
00:08:49.520 Joe Biden may not have known what he was even doing.
00:08:52.060 Well, this was really astonishing this week.
00:08:54.760 You know, ordinarily, if the president's doctor is testifying, the president's doctor is speaking at a press conference, it's kind of a nothing murder.
00:09:03.020 The president's doctor lays out, here's what happened when we engaged in an investigation.
00:09:07.160 And by the way, there's no notion that presidents have a right to privacy to have if the president has cancer, if the president has dementia.
00:09:14.680 The president's doctor is supposed to tell the American people.
00:09:17.980 The American people have a right to know if there's a serious health condition affecting the president.
00:09:21.760 Well, instead of answering reasonable questions, the president's doctor, Dr. Kevin O'Connor, sat in front of the House of Representatives and he pleaded the fifth.
00:09:32.120 He said, I'm not answering anything.
00:09:33.800 I'm not going to answer if I lied to the American people.
00:09:36.980 I'm not going to answer if I lied to Congress.
00:09:38.960 I'm not going to answer anything.
00:09:40.840 Now, typically, when people plead the fifth, they're doing it to avoid incriminating themselves in criminal conduct.
00:09:48.800 That is an astonishing thing.
00:09:51.480 It would be one thing if he said, I'm not going to give the precise diagnosis that I gave to Joe Biden about particular health maladies he had.
00:09:59.920 That's that is that's not an unreasonable thing to say.
00:10:03.720 I don't think you should say that because I actually think the president's doctor has an obligation to the American people to be candid.
00:10:09.120 But if he wanted to say that, that would be one thing he's saying he refused to answer where you asked to lie to the American people.
00:10:18.420 I want you to listen to some of the cross-examination because his answers are astonishing.
00:10:24.240 And you mentioned the question, who was running the country?
00:10:26.920 I have heard literally over the last four years, hundreds of times people have asked me who was running the country.
00:10:33.340 And I got to tell you, if if the president's doctor has to plead the fifth to avoid saying, were you lying to the American people?
00:10:41.760 That really raises incredible questions about the degree of duplicity, the degree of lying to the American people that occurred for the last four years here.
00:10:51.340 Give a listen to this exchange with Joe Biden's doctor.
00:10:54.440 Dr. O'Connor, were you ever told to lie about the president's health?
00:11:00.860 On the advice of counsel, I must respectfully decline to answer based upon physician patient privilege and in reliance on my right under the Fifth Amendment of the Constitution.
00:11:09.700 I am not a lawyer. I must follow my lawyer's advice in this matter.
00:11:13.680 Simple 18 seconds, right?
00:11:15.540 Hey, I can't even answer the question if I was told to lie about the president's condition.
00:11:19.320 That is shocking coming from a doctor.
00:11:21.080 It's shocking and it's lawless.
00:11:24.740 The Fifth Amendment does not protect.
00:11:27.080 There's nothing in the patient doctor privilege that protects, that bars you from answering the question, were you ever told to lie?
00:11:34.760 That has nothing to do with the president's condition.
00:11:38.140 Were you ever told to lie?
00:11:39.780 By the way, I think virtually every president's doctor, that would be an easy question because a president's doctor, Ronnie Jackson, who is now a member of Congress from Texas.
00:11:49.640 He was the president's doctor, he was President Bush's doctor, he was President Obama's doctor, he was President Trump's doctor.
00:11:55.520 He has gone on TV and said, hey, were you ever asked to lie?
00:11:59.000 No, I was the president's doctor.
00:12:00.920 So I gave, I told the truth to the American people.
00:12:04.300 The degree to which that is a confession of deliberate dishonesty.
00:12:10.520 And it's not just on the part of the doctor.
00:12:12.160 Look, the doctor was complicit.
00:12:14.680 The obvious reason he's pleading the fifth is because the answer is yes, he was lying.
00:12:19.580 He was lying to the American people.
00:12:21.360 But it wasn't just the doctor that knew that.
00:12:24.040 It was the White House staff.
00:12:25.640 It was the chief of staff.
00:12:26.700 It was the senior staff.
00:12:27.860 It was Jill Biden.
00:12:28.640 It was everyone around Joe Biden. 0.98
00:12:32.020 His mental diminishment was massive.
00:12:34.380 And so when the doctor was trundled out to the American people to say he's sharp as a tack, he was lying and everyone knew he was lying.
00:12:42.940 And yet he's right now refusing to admit this.
00:12:46.060 I want you to listen to this other exchange from the hearing this week.
00:12:49.340 Dr. O'Connor, before we begin, I would like to go over the ground rules for this deposition.
00:12:53.320 The committee will conduct today's deposition in accordance with the House of Representatives regulations for the use of deposition authority, which were furnished to your counsel.
00:13:01.940 This regulation is incorporated into the rules of the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform at Rule 15, which was also furnished to your counsel.
00:13:10.100 The questioning will proceed in rounds.
00:13:12.160 The majority will ask questions for an hour, and then the minority will have an opportunity to ask questions for an hour if they choose.
00:13:17.500 There will be one staff counsel per side asking the questions during each round.
00:13:23.040 To the extent members have questions for the witness, they will be propounded during their side's respective rounds.
00:13:27.920 Do you understand?
00:13:29.320 On the advice of counsel, I must respectfully decline to answer based on the physician-patient privilege and reliance on my right under the Fifth Amendment of the Constitution.
00:13:38.960 I am not a lawyer, and I must follow my lawyer's advice in this matter.
00:13:42.420 So, gentlemen, we intend to assert both privileges with regard to any questions that would be asked at this deposition, and Dr. O'Connor will not answer any questions.
00:13:56.000 Can we go off the record for one second?
00:13:58.120 I mean, you hear that, and then they go off the record.
00:14:00.580 This is just a doctor that clearly can't answer a single question, I guess, truthfully, because it puts him in such a bad light as a doctor.
00:14:08.520 Why wouldn't you want to clear your own name as a doctor?
00:14:10.880 Say, no, I didn't lie and make up things.
00:14:12.980 I didn't lie to the American people.
00:14:14.440 I didn't lie on behalf of the President of the United States of America.
00:14:17.040 Wouldn't you want to clear your good name if you're a doctor?
00:14:20.120 Of course. 0.99
00:14:20.960 The reason he didn't say that is because he's a liar. 0.90
00:14:24.160 The only reason you plead the Fifth when you're asked were you asked to lie to the American people.
00:14:31.140 That should not be a complicated question.
00:14:33.600 Any doctor, by the way, any public official ought to be able to answer that, no, that I'm not lying to the American people.
00:14:42.200 I did not lie to the American people.
00:14:44.080 The fact that he's refusing to answer any question, and by the way, I think the House of Representatives is going to seriously consider granting this doctor immunity.
00:14:52.960 Now, why is that important?
00:14:54.120 Because if they grant the doctor immunity, it means they can force him to testify.
00:14:58.220 You don't have a right to a Fifth Amendment privilege if you have immunity.
00:15:01.380 That Fifth Amendment privilege only protects you from testifying if you face the jeopardy of criminal prosecution.
00:15:08.280 Does he have to accept that immunity, though?
00:15:10.140 Like, does he have to agree to that?
00:15:11.820 No, he does not.
00:15:13.200 They can grant him immunity.
00:15:13.940 So you just say, you've got immunity, now you've got to talk.
00:15:16.080 They can grant him immunity.
00:15:17.420 They can drag him in front.
00:15:18.520 And if he refuses to testify, they can hold him in contempt and put him in jail.
00:15:23.940 Wow.
00:15:24.340 Once you are no longer facing criminal prosecution, the Fifth Amendment does not give you the right to refuse to answer questions.
00:15:30.740 I think there's a very real possibility that's what the House is going to do.
00:15:34.720 Allô, Nissan?
00:15:35.500 Hey, grosse tempête, hein? 0.96
00:16:04.820 Senator, I want to move to another big story, and that is the rising threat that has just become oh so real with federal law enforcement.
00:16:13.680 And there was a shooter that ambushed Texas Border Patrol agents.
00:16:19.760 Words from elected officials, in my opinion, have major influence, but also consequence.
00:16:27.140 We have seen time and time again right now Democrats coming out and saying that ICE are evil, stand up to ICE, fight ICE.
00:16:37.600 These are words coming from so many Democrats that are actually elected to office.
00:16:42.000 Well, listen, as you noted, words have consequence, and we have seen an awful lot of Democrats, we have seen the corporate media denounce ICE, call them Nazis, call them goose-stepping fascists.
00:16:54.140 And unfortunately, that rhetoric fuels a rage.
00:16:58.040 It fuels a rage that we have seen manifesting in violence over and over again, leftists engaging in active violence against ICE agents.
00:17:08.400 So, just a few days ago, an active shooter opened fire on ICE agents in McAllen, Texas.
00:17:18.080 And here's the story from Fox News.
00:17:20.840 Active shooter killed in an attempt to ambush Border Patrol agents in Texas.
00:17:25.680 One McAllen police officer wounded, but in stable condition, following apparent planned ambush at Rio Grande Valley facility.
00:17:32.920 And here's what the article says.
00:17:34.480 An active shooter, armed with tactical gear and a rifle, opened fire upon Border Patrol agents as they arrived at a Border Patrol annex facility in McAllen, Texas, in the Rio Grande Valley on Monday, law enforcement sources say.
00:17:46.720 Agents and local police returned fire and killed the gunman.
00:17:51.880 No federal agents were hit, but one McAllen police officer was struck.
00:17:57.080 Law enforcement sources say the officer is in stable condition.
00:18:00.720 Quote,
00:18:01.000 This morning, an individual opened fire at the entrance of the United States Border Patrol sector annex in McAllen, Texas.
00:18:08.060 Both Border Patrol agents and local police helped neutralize the shooter, the Department of Homeland Security said in a statement of Fox News.
00:18:14.800 This is an ongoing investigation led by the FBI.
00:18:18.040 More information will be shared as it becomes available.
00:18:20.860 Now, I'll tell you, I have walked into and out of that Border Patrol facility in McAllen, Texas, multiple times.
00:18:28.920 The fact that you have violent criminals, and this is a criminal who lost his life because he showed up and wanted to shoot at law enforcement officials.
00:18:37.920 He was doing so.
00:18:39.360 We don't know this conclusively, but we can certainly infer that he was doing so because he's been listening to the extreme rhetoric that these are Nazis. 0.99
00:18:48.020 And so he was like, you know what, if you've got Nazis, let's kill the Nazis. 0.97
00:18:52.540 That is the consequence of the unhinged and deranged rhetoric on the left right now. 0.99
00:18:58.780 You talk about that rhetoric.
00:19:00.620 Let's give actual quotes.
00:19:02.260 House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries of New York said employed people to, quote, fight the Trump administration in the streets, quote unquote.
00:19:09.820 He also declared ICE agents, quote, will be unsuccessful in protecting their identities no matter what it takes.
00:19:17.320 Advocating for doxing and putting their families at risk, ICE agents.
00:19:21.700 Representative Jayapala of Washington called ICE agents, quote, unquote, deranged and said it is, quote, inspiring to obstruct immigration enforcement.
00:19:32.500 Representative McIver of New Jersey, who was arrested and charged with forcibly impeding and interfering with federal officers outside an ICE detention facility,
00:19:41.380 incited her supporters to, quote, shut down the city because we are at war, quote, unquote.
00:19:48.260 And even the former vice presidential candidate, the Minnesota governor, Tim Waltz, getting in on the action, called ICE agents the modern day Gestapo, Chicago's mayor this past week.
00:19:59.800 Johnson accused the ICE agents of being, quote, unquote, the secret police and, quote, terrorizing our communities.
00:20:06.720 And you add in Eric Swalwell of California, he said it was, quote, his priority to ensure ICE agents, quote, are no longer faceless, comparing them to some 1800s bank robbers or some KGB officers in Russia.
00:20:25.300 Words have consequences.
00:20:27.440 And this is the rhetoric coming from some of your colleagues in D.C.
00:20:31.160 Well, and not only do they have consequences with the armed shooter who was killed in McAllen, Texas, but in North Texas, 11 people were arrested for plotting to ambush to kill ICE correction officers.
00:20:45.560 And I want to read from this story from the Daily Wire, quote, 11 people have been arrested in what law enforcement officers described as a, quote,
00:20:53.560 quote, planned ambush of corrections officers at an ICE detention facility in Alvarado, Texas, on July 4th.
00:21:01.520 One Alvarado police officer was shot in the neck during the attack and is expected to survive.
00:21:07.900 Quote, early reports indicate that more than a dozen masked individuals dressed in black arrived at the Prairieland ICE detention facility late Friday night and vandalized vehicles and security cameras in the parking lot, CBS News reported.
00:21:23.560 The individuals launched fireworks in an apparent effort to lure law enforcement.
00:21:28.680 On July 5th, Deputy Attorney General Tom Blanche posted on X, quote,
00:21:32.640 We are closely monitoring the attacks on DHS facilities in Prairieland, Texas, and Portland, Oregon,
00:21:38.840 and are coordinating with USAOs and our law enforcement partners.
00:21:42.940 The department has zero tolerance for assaults on federal officers or property
00:21:48.160 and will bring the full weight of the law against those responsible.
00:21:54.340 On Monday, Acting U.S. Attorney Nancy Larson stated, quote,
00:21:57.460 We're here to tell you that late at night on July 4th, Friday night at approximately 10.37 p.m.
00:22:03.140 at Prairieland ICE detention center in Alvarado, Texas,
00:22:06.600 10 to 12 individuals dressed in black, military-style clothing,
00:22:12.700 began shooting fireworks and engaging in acts of vandalism at the facility that was part of an organized attack.
00:22:19.100 Today, my office is charged 10 individuals with three counts of attempted murder of a federal officer.
00:22:25.340 Wow.
00:22:26.160 Each of the 10 are also charged with three counts of discharging a firearm in relation to a crime of violence.
00:22:33.920 Each of these defendants faces a mandatory prison term of 10 years and up to life in prison.
00:22:40.460 An additional co-conspirator was charged with obstruction of justice and conspiracy
00:22:45.120 for attempting to conceal and destroy evidence in relation to the attack and faces up to 10 years in prison.
00:22:52.120 And she continued, quote,
00:22:54.400 Let's discuss the incident. 0.67
00:22:56.580 It was a planned ambush with the intent to kill ICE corrections officers.
00:23:04.080 Make no mistake.
00:23:05.740 This was not a so-called peaceful protest.
00:23:09.320 It was indeed an ambush.
00:23:12.800 This is the violence we are seeing.
00:23:15.080 And it turns out when you call law enforcement officers,
00:23:18.500 federal law enforcement officers that are keeping us safe,
00:23:20.780 when you call them Nazis, when you call them Gestapo, 0.96
00:23:24.560 lunatics on the left hear that. 0.99
00:23:27.500 And sadly, we are seeing over and over again,
00:23:29.640 they are acting and they're acting with violence.
00:23:31.600 You look at even on Tuesday,
00:23:33.800 you had Democratic Senator Padilla of California and Cory Booker, New Jersey.
00:23:37.800 They introduced that legislation to require ICE officers to, quote,
00:23:42.240 display clearly visible IDs and not wear masks, no matter what,
00:23:46.260 during their enforcement operations, accusing, quote,
00:23:49.100 the Trump administration of alarming immigration enforcement tactics
00:23:52.460 that have terrorized communities across California and the nation.
00:23:56.100 And we know what the left has done here.
00:23:58.240 They want to dox these ICE agents, their family members.
00:24:02.540 They've been putting their kids even online and posting,
00:24:06.460 people have been posting their home addresses,
00:24:08.800 hoping that basically people go after the ICE agents who are just doing their jobs. 0.52
00:24:13.240 That's how sick these people are. 0.95
00:24:14.820 Well, listen, there's a simple choice. 0.84
00:24:16.840 There's a choice for Americans all across the country.
00:24:19.580 Who do you stand with?
00:24:20.760 Do you stand with cops?
00:24:22.600 Do you stand with law enforcement agents?
00:24:24.620 Do you stand with the men and women who risk their lives to keep us safe?
00:24:28.340 You and I both stand with them.
00:24:30.380 Or as the Democrats have chosen,
00:24:32.720 do you stand with illegal immigrants? 0.90
00:24:34.380 Do you stand with murderers? 0.93
00:24:35.520 Do you stand with rapists?
00:24:36.520 Do you stand with child molesters?
00:24:38.240 Do you stand with Venezuelan gang members who are engaged in human trafficking?
00:24:42.220 Sadly, the Democrats, and inexplicably,
00:24:45.400 they've decided to stand with the criminals and not law enforcement,
00:24:48.520 and we're seeing the consequences.
00:24:50.180 Senator, I want to get into this and get your reaction to the FBI
00:24:53.860 launching an investigation into John Brennan,
00:24:58.040 into James Comey, over the Trump-Russia probe.
00:25:01.860 I think we need to go back and just remind people
00:25:04.060 of what they were peddling that they knew was false.
00:25:08.260 Basically, in my opinion, it was a coup attempt
00:25:11.280 against the American people who chose Donald Trump in 2016
00:25:13.920 to be their president.
00:25:14.860 They didn't like it.
00:25:15.880 And they're like, no worries.
00:25:16.800 Well, you know, we'll do what the Lisa Page,
00:25:19.460 Peter Strzok's were doing, right?
00:25:20.780 We'll fix it.
00:25:21.800 We'll take care of it after the fact,
00:25:23.620 after he gets sworn in.
00:25:25.020 And we're going to go after him,
00:25:26.120 and we're going to undermine him.
00:25:27.160 We're going to get him impeached,
00:25:28.080 and that'll be all fine.
00:25:30.100 Well, I've got to say, this is an astonishing story.
00:25:33.140 John Brennan was the head of the CIA.
00:25:34.780 James Comey was the head of the FBI.
00:25:38.260 Both of them are right now
00:25:40.120 under active criminal investigations.
00:25:42.940 Here's what Fox News has reported.
00:25:44.740 Quote,
00:25:45.740 Former CIA Director John Brennan
00:25:47.340 and former FBI Director James Comey
00:25:49.100 are under criminal investigation
00:25:50.620 for potential wrongdoing
00:25:52.660 related to the Trump-Russia probe,
00:25:55.600 including allegedly making false statements to Congress,
00:25:59.600 Justice Department sources told Fox News Digital.
00:26:02.520 CIA Director John Ratcliffe
00:26:04.500 referred evidence of wrongdoing by Brennan
00:26:06.580 to FBI Director Cash Patel
00:26:08.580 for potential prosecution,
00:26:10.820 DOJ sources told Fox News Digital.
00:26:13.020 The sources said the referral was received
00:26:14.920 and told Fox News Digital
00:26:16.240 that a criminal investigation into Brennan
00:26:19.140 was opened and is underway.
00:26:21.760 DOJ sources declined to provide further details.
00:26:24.280 It is unclear at this point
00:26:25.600 if the investigation spans beyond
00:26:28.520 his alleged false statements to Congress.
00:26:31.040 As for Comey, 0.88
00:26:32.700 DOJ sources told Fox News Digital
00:26:34.740 that an investigation into the former director
00:26:37.360 is underway
00:26:37.840 but could not share details
00:26:39.260 of what specifically is being probed.
00:26:41.660 The full scope of the criminal investigations
00:26:43.640 into Brennan and Comey is unclear,
00:26:46.200 but two sources
00:26:47.240 describe the FBI's view
00:26:49.520 of the duo's interactions
00:26:50.680 as a, quote,
00:26:51.600 conspiracy,
00:26:52.760 which could open up a wide range
00:26:55.420 of potential prosecutorial options.
00:26:57.280 The FBI and the CIA declined comment.
00:27:01.120 I mean, this is massive
00:27:03.420 on so many different levels
00:27:04.940 and John Brennan, by the way,
00:27:07.100 he went on TV on MSNBC
00:27:09.680 and it was pretty funny 0.99
00:27:11.880 because it was like he was just playing dumb 0.97
00:27:14.180 and it was like, 0.96
00:27:15.640 I don't even know why
00:27:16.900 they would be investigating me.
00:27:18.060 I don't know what they would be looking at.
00:27:19.860 I don't understand
00:27:20.760 how this is even a thing
00:27:23.440 in his own words
00:27:25.160 and in fact,
00:27:26.280 I'm going to play it
00:27:27.040 because I want you to hear it.
00:27:28.080 I'm going to get your reaction.
00:27:29.180 Here's John Brennan, MSNBC,
00:27:30.940 after finding out
00:27:32.080 that he's the target
00:27:32.980 of an investigation.
00:27:34.880 If there is an investigation
00:27:36.020 that people will be questioned,
00:27:37.620 I would be questioned about it.
00:27:38.860 But again,
00:27:39.580 I've had no contact from them.
00:27:41.540 But again,
00:27:42.100 I testified in front of many,
00:27:44.580 many congressional committees
00:27:45.680 in the House
00:27:46.220 and the Senate over the years.
00:27:47.840 And I continue to explain exactly
00:27:49.940 what we did during this process,
00:27:52.100 why we tried to make sure
00:27:53.180 we stayed true
00:27:53.980 to our intelligence responsibilities
00:27:56.480 and that we were not going
00:27:58.140 to do anything at all
00:27:59.120 to try to interfere
00:27:59.920 in that election.
00:28:01.080 And again,
00:28:01.600 it was a challenging time,
00:28:03.180 but also one,
00:28:04.000 I think that the people
00:28:05.980 who actually worked this,
00:28:07.520 both in terms of
00:28:08.400 trying to collect intelligence
00:28:09.840 prior to the election
00:28:10.780 and then the ones
00:28:11.560 who put together
00:28:12.160 the intelligence community assessment,
00:28:13.440 they really, I think,
00:28:14.400 showed the best
00:28:15.180 of what the intelligence community
00:28:16.640 and what CIA is made of.
00:28:18.100 So again,
00:28:19.380 I am clueless
00:28:20.780 about what it is exactly
00:28:22.540 that they may be
00:28:23.700 investigating me for.
00:28:24.660 That may be the fastest
00:28:26.340 Senator I've ever heard
00:28:27.740 John Brennan speak on TV ever.
00:28:29.840 And I've watched him
00:28:30.500 a lot over the years.
00:28:31.560 That seemed like
00:28:32.160 a very nervous man to me.
00:28:33.860 Well, and let me give
00:28:34.700 a little more background
00:28:35.620 on who John Brennan is.
00:28:37.080 He was the director of the CIA
00:28:38.580 from 2013 to 2017
00:28:41.380 under Barack Obama.
00:28:43.340 Now, in 1976,
00:28:45.760 John Brennan was a young man.
00:28:47.740 1976, you were not alive.
00:28:49.220 Is that right, Ben?
00:28:50.380 I was not, no.
00:28:52.340 Now, you're enough
00:28:53.420 of a political student
00:28:55.100 and scholar.
00:28:56.360 Let me ask you,
00:28:57.300 who were the presidential
00:28:58.260 candidates in 1976?
00:29:00.500 Jimmy Carter?
00:29:02.040 Yeah.
00:29:02.940 All right.
00:29:03.460 And on the Republican side,
00:29:05.780 I love when you play
00:29:06.500 these games with me.
00:29:08.980 Did Reagan,
00:29:09.860 was Reagan 76 as well?
00:29:11.300 No, no.
00:29:12.040 So Reagan ran,
00:29:14.180 but he lost.
00:29:15.380 It was Ford.
00:29:16.360 It was Ford.
00:29:17.140 Ford was the incumbent president.
00:29:18.420 So remember,
00:29:18.680 Richard Nixon had been president.
00:29:20.080 He resigned.
00:29:21.280 So Ford was
00:29:21.880 the incumbent president.
00:29:22.800 Reagan primaried Ford,
00:29:23.900 but he lost in that primary.
00:29:25.420 So the general election
00:29:26.640 was Gerald Ford
00:29:28.180 versus Jimmy Carter.
00:29:29.640 Now, let me ask you,
00:29:30.640 all right,
00:29:30.840 in that election,
00:29:31.740 who would you vote for?
00:29:32.940 I'm going to probably
00:29:34.140 go with the Republican there,
00:29:35.320 not Jimmy Carter.
00:29:36.820 Yeah, look,
00:29:37.420 although I will say,
00:29:38.660 and by the way,
00:29:39.480 do you know,
00:29:39.760 this is my first
00:29:40.480 political memory.
00:29:41.240 I'm about 10 years
00:29:41.940 older than you are.
00:29:43.180 My first political memory
00:29:44.560 is when I was five years old,
00:29:47.420 1976,
00:29:47.980 and my mother
00:29:49.920 voted for Jimmy Carter.
00:29:51.500 My mother's a strong conservative. 0.90
00:29:52.860 She just thought 1.00
00:29:53.440 Gerald Ford was an idiot. 1.00
00:29:55.040 And I remember my father, 1.00
00:29:56.320 my father,
00:29:56.960 who's an immigrant from Cuba,
00:29:57.880 he was not yet a U.S. citizen.
00:29:59.440 He is today,
00:30:00.100 but he was not in 76.
00:30:01.820 And my father was furious
00:30:03.500 because he felt like
00:30:04.400 my mom had the family's vote.
00:30:07.020 And she voted for Jimmy Carter.
00:30:09.240 It's funny,
00:30:09.580 my mom is 90 now,
00:30:10.680 and she's incredible
00:30:11.980 and a wonderful conservative
00:30:13.280 and an incredible person.
00:30:14.620 But when I bring this up,
00:30:15.720 she's like,
00:30:15.980 I'm sorry,
00:30:16.920 I'm sorry,
00:30:17.560 I didn't know.
00:30:19.540 Jimmy Carter 0.62
00:30:20.460 was an absolute disaster. 0.99
00:30:23.000 He was a left-wing wacko. 0.99
00:30:24.900 He was the worst president 0.98
00:30:26.180 this country had ever seen
00:30:27.340 until Joe Biden.
00:30:28.440 Joe Biden managed
00:30:29.420 to be worse
00:30:30.980 than Jimmy Carter.
00:30:32.700 Now,
00:30:32.980 how is this relevant
00:30:33.900 to John Brennan?
00:30:34.700 Well,
00:30:34.880 John Brennan
00:30:35.340 was in college at the time.
00:30:37.020 He was faced
00:30:37.880 with a choice
00:30:38.800 between Gerald Ford
00:30:40.460 and ultra left-wing
00:30:42.280 crazy Jimmy Carter.
00:30:43.500 What do you think
00:30:43.860 John Brennan did?
00:30:44.580 I'm ready.
00:30:46.420 Give me the punchline here.
00:30:48.680 He cast his vote
00:30:50.040 for a guy named Gus Hall.
00:30:52.360 Do you know
00:30:52.600 who Gus Hall was?
00:30:53.520 I do not.
00:30:54.700 He was the presidential candidate
00:30:56.480 for the Communist Party USA.
00:31:00.220 And there's your sign.
00:31:01.780 So,
00:31:02.220 John Brennan
00:31:02.920 decided
00:31:04.380 Jimmy Carter
00:31:05.400 is too right-wing for him.
00:31:07.300 And he voted
00:31:08.260 for someone who,
00:31:09.240 I'm not calling him
00:31:10.140 a communist.
00:31:10.580 He was the nominee
00:31:12.520 of the Communist Party
00:31:13.940 and John Brennan said,
00:31:15.640 I want America
00:31:16.440 governed by a communist president.
00:31:19.000 That's who
00:31:19.800 Barack Obama
00:31:20.720 put in charge
00:31:21.360 of the CIA.
00:31:22.700 And that's who
00:31:23.940 was played
00:31:25.260 an integral role
00:31:26.460 in orchestrating
00:31:28.120 the whole
00:31:28.600 Russiagate fraud.
00:31:29.960 And it's just,
00:31:30.880 it's important
00:31:31.540 to understand
00:31:32.320 just how extreme
00:31:34.220 and radical
00:31:34.940 this guy is.
00:31:36.180 I gotta tell you,
00:31:37.600 I don't know,
00:31:38.920 to be honest,
00:31:39.580 I don't know
00:31:40.000 anybody else
00:31:41.060 in public life
00:31:41.900 who thought
00:31:43.440 Jimmy Carter
00:31:44.400 was too conservative.
00:31:46.160 John Brennan
00:31:46.900 is literally
00:31:47.660 to the left
00:31:48.500 of every Democrat
00:31:49.860 senator,
00:31:50.380 every Democrat
00:31:50.900 House member,
00:31:51.600 every single person
00:31:52.620 I've ever encountered
00:31:53.340 in public life.
00:31:54.540 The lefty loons
00:31:55.620 all voted for
00:31:56.260 Jimmy Carter
00:31:56.800 except for John Brennan
00:31:58.160 who said,
00:31:58.700 nope,
00:31:59.340 we need a full-on
00:32:00.720 communist.
00:32:01.560 That's who
00:32:01.900 this guy is.
00:32:02.880 Final question
00:32:03.760 on this.
00:32:04.500 How concerned
00:32:05.600 do you think
00:32:06.420 these two individuals
00:32:07.900 should be
00:32:08.500 about this investigation?
00:32:10.460 Or is this
00:32:11.340 one of those moments
00:32:12.180 where you say,
00:32:12.700 okay,
00:32:12.920 yeah,
00:32:13.080 there's investigation
00:32:13.740 but I don't have
00:32:14.840 to worry
00:32:15.220 because nothing
00:32:16.020 ever really happens
00:32:16.840 to us
00:32:17.260 when we're the elites?
00:32:19.300 Well,
00:32:19.480 listen,
00:32:19.780 the greatest exposure
00:32:20.700 they have
00:32:21.200 is for lying to Congress
00:32:22.180 because lying to Congress
00:32:23.240 you're under oath
00:32:23.960 and lying under oath
00:32:25.020 that carries a prison sentence
00:32:26.720 that carries up
00:32:27.360 to five years in prison.
00:32:29.120 James Clapper
00:32:30.040 who was the director
00:32:30.780 of national intelligence
00:32:31.740 under Barack Obama,
00:32:33.760 I think the evidence
00:32:34.660 is very clear
00:32:35.700 that he lied to Congress.
00:32:37.820 Whether John Brennan did,
00:32:39.440 whether James Comey did,
00:32:40.680 I think this investigation
00:32:41.800 will reveal.
00:32:42.820 It will depend upon,
00:32:44.300 there's no doubt
00:32:45.180 they were terrible heads
00:32:46.880 of the CIA
00:32:47.540 and the FBI.
00:32:49.080 Whether they committed
00:32:50.220 criminal conduct
00:32:51.180 or not,
00:32:51.660 I think that that is
00:32:53.000 the purpose
00:32:53.460 of this investigation
00:32:54.480 but I got to say 0.86
00:32:55.860 it is a big damn deal 0.62
00:32:58.680 that the former head 0.91
00:33:00.140 of the FBI
00:33:00.720 and the former head
00:33:01.380 of the CIA
00:33:01.940 are being criminally
00:33:03.780 investigated
00:33:04.520 for felony conduct.
00:33:05.720 That's what's happening
00:33:06.340 right now.
00:33:07.460 Don't forget
