Verdict with Ted Cruz - Trump on Deportations, Can Daniel Penny take on the People that went after him & Border Wall up for Grabs Week In Review

00:00:00.000 This is an iHeart Podcast.

00:00:02.700 Guaranteed human.

00:00:05.540 Welcome.

00:00:06.140 It is Verdict with Ted Cruz and The Week in Review.

00:00:08.560 Ben Ferguson with you.

00:00:09.480 And man, was it a crazy week when it comes to big breaking news.

00:00:13.480 And we covered it all.

00:00:14.500 And here are some of the highlights you may have missed.

00:00:16.740 First up, Donald Trump, not afraid of the media,

00:00:19.460 sitting down on Meet the Press for an exclusive one-on-one interview

00:00:22.620 talking about mass deportations and how he's going to do it.

00:00:26.840 The other question they said was,

00:00:28.080 well, it's impossible for you to deport all legal immigrants.

00:00:31.140 He says, my plan is to start with the worst and we're going to go from there.

00:00:35.400 We'll have that for you.

00:00:36.480 Also, Daniel Penny was found innocent, thank goodness,

00:00:39.760 by a jury of his peers in New York City for being a good Samaritan.

00:00:43.120 The question now is, can he sue New York for taking him to court for doing the right thing?

00:00:49.360 Was it an unjust prosecution of him?

00:00:51.920 We'll explain the legal aspect of that.

00:00:54.240 And finally, the border wall, many pieces of it that were taken down by the Biden administration

00:01:00.080 and others that were never put up.

00:01:02.760 The Biden administration now says we want to sell them for $5 a piece to stick it to the American voters.

00:01:08.700 Can we stop it?

00:01:10.160 Well, we're going to explain that for you as well.

00:01:12.240 It's the Week in Review and it starts right now.

00:01:14.860 Let's talk about the border.

00:01:16.980 And there was certainly a pretty intense conversation about what Donald Trump has said he wants to do.

00:01:24.460 And I think the American people actually know what his plan is.

00:01:28.000 The media just doesn't want to accept that he has a mandate to do it.

00:01:32.100 Here is part of that conversation.

00:01:34.380 Let's talk about mass deportation, one of your big agenda items.

00:01:37.840 You've talked about prioritizing people who have criminal histories.

00:01:41.520 Correct.

00:01:41.940 But is it your plan to deport everyone who is here illegally over the next four years?

00:01:47.340 Well, I think you have to do it.

00:01:49.220 And it's a very tough thing to do.

00:01:53.300 But you have to have, you know, you have rules, regulations, laws that came in illegally.

00:01:58.800 You know, the people that have been treated very unfairly are the people that have been online for 10 years to come into the country.

00:02:03.880 And we're going to make it very easy for people to come in in terms of they have to pass the test.

00:02:09.080 They have to be able to tell you what the Statue of Liberty is.

00:02:12.000 They have to tell you a little bit about our country.

00:02:14.480 They have to love our country.

00:02:15.600 They can't come out of prisons.

00:02:16.860 We don't want people that are in for murder.

00:02:19.080 So we had 11,000 and 13,000 different estimates, 13,099 murderers released into our country over the last three years.

00:02:29.540 They're walking down the streets.

00:02:30.980 They're walking next to you and your family, and they're very dangerous.

00:02:34.480 The 13,000 figure, I think, goes back about 40 years.

00:02:37.360 No, it doesn't.

00:02:38.240 No, it's within the three-year period.

00:02:40.000 It's during the Biden term.

00:02:41.060 No, that was a fiction that they put that out.

00:02:43.380 This was done by the Border Patrol.

00:02:45.380 It's 13,099.

00:02:47.160 It's during the Biden period of time.

00:02:49.180 And these are murderers, many of whom murdered more than one person.

00:02:53.480 You don't want those people in this country.

00:02:55.820 But you're saying something, sir, that's significant.

00:02:59.020 I just want to make sure I'm clear, which is that you're saying, yes, you're going to focus on the people with criminal histories, but everyone who's here illegally has to go. 1.00

00:03:06.640 I'm saying this.

00:03:08.140 We have to get the criminals out of our country.

00:03:10.440 We have to get people that were taken out of mental institutions and put them back into their mental institution, no matter what country it is.

00:03:17.260 Do you know that Venezuela, their prisons are at the lowest point in terms of emptiness that they've ever been?

00:03:25.580 They're taking their people out of those prisons by the thousands, and they're drunk.

00:03:30.600 And just to get back, because I know exactly what you're getting at, number one, we're doing criminals, and we're going to do them really rapidly.

00:03:37.660 We're getting the worst gang, probably with MS-13, and the Venezuelan gangs are the worst in the world. 1.00

00:03:44.460 They're vicious, violent people. 0.93

00:03:46.420 And you see what they've done in Colorado and other places.

00:03:49.000 They're taking over, literally taking over apartment complexes and doing it with impunity.

00:03:54.380 They don't care.

00:03:55.140 They couldn't.

00:03:56.100 They just are.

00:03:56.960 They're in the real estate.

00:03:58.040 You know, the local police say that is not the case in Colorado.

00:04:01.360 Oh, it's totally the case.

00:04:02.480 You don't believe the local police.

00:04:04.580 I used to play it at my rallies every single night.

00:04:08.060 No, they're breaking into doors.

00:04:09.800 They're taking over the building.

00:04:11.000 But, sir, you raised the point.

00:04:12.420 And, by the way, the police are afraid to do anything.

00:04:15.040 You raised the point that the logistics are complicated.

00:04:18.500 You said it yourself.

00:04:19.180 Sure they are, but everything's complicated.

00:04:20.440 Yeah, I mean, you need 24 times more ICE detention capacity just to deport 1 million people per year, not to mention more agents, more judges, more planes.

00:04:29.480 Is it realistic to deport everyone who's here in the police?

00:04:31.880 There's no choice.

00:04:32.920 First of all, they're costing us a fortune.

00:04:35.460 But we're starting with the criminals, and we've got to do it.

00:04:38.780 And then we're starting with others, and we're going to see how it goes.

00:04:42.260 Who are the others?

00:04:43.200 Others are other people outside of criminals.

00:04:45.580 We have convicted murders.

00:04:47.240 We don't mean people that are even on trial.

00:04:50.140 We have people that have murdered.

00:04:52.560 Numerous people are on our streets and in our farms, and we have to get them out of our country. 1.00

00:04:58.140 You know what's amazing to me, Senators, the fact that Christian Welker there was just like,

00:05:01.600 well, this is impossible.

00:05:03.300 You can't do this.

00:05:04.260 So why even act like you can deport or round up a bunch of heinous criminals?

00:05:09.880 There's no way you can do this.

00:05:11.560 So let's just admit defeat and say we can't do it, and we can't afford it.

00:05:16.020 I mean, the Biden administration just sent, what, another billion dollars in funding to Ukraine?

00:05:22.100 Why don't we spend some money here and actually get what we need to get rid of these heinous criminals?

00:05:26.460 I think that's the point he's trying to make.

00:05:28.660 Well, and we're going to see that happen.

00:05:30.220 We are going to see on January 20th, we're going to see the new administration come in.

00:05:34.680 We're going to see them reverse catch and release immediately.

00:05:39.060 We're going to see them return to building the wall.

00:05:41.200 We're going to see them reinstate the Remain in Mexico agreement.

00:05:45.380 What it is going to mean is that on January 20th, if you come here illegally and you're apprehended,

00:05:50.420 you will be deported, and we will see the numbers plummet.

00:05:54.480 They'll plummet immediately.

00:05:56.080 The first priority Trump is going to focus on is securing the border itself,

00:05:59.620 and very closely connected to that, is going after illegal immigrants,

00:06:03.620 and in particular, as he said repeatedly, starting with the criminal aliens, 0.97

00:06:07.620 starting with the convicted murderers, the rapists, the child molesters, 1.00

00:06:11.100 starting with the Venezuelan gangs, starting with the most dangerous illegal immigrants. 0.99

00:06:17.120 And, you know, Welker was saying, well, gosh, this is going to be expensive.

00:06:19.480 It's going to take a lot of resources.

00:06:21.240 I'm going to hold on to that clip.

00:06:22.960 That's going to be valuable, because you know what?

00:06:24.760 Congress is going to—we are going to take up and pass a reconciliation bill.

00:06:29.200 We're going to do it early in this next year that is going to provide funding

00:06:34.060 to enable us to secure the border.

00:06:36.320 We're going to get it done, and I think Trump was very matter-of-fact laying out

00:06:39.620 this is a mandate from the American people.

00:06:41.940 He intends to do it, and I intend to work hand-in-hand with him to make sure it gets done.

00:06:46.660 And finally, Senator, Donald Trump went to France.

00:06:50.580 It was a very interesting trip.

00:06:52.560 He was meeting with world leaders, and one of the things that I thought was really interesting

00:06:57.840 about this trip was social media reacted to Trump's just dominating force

00:07:04.060 and the clear contrast between how world leaders were interacting with him

00:07:08.900 compared to Joe Biden and this administration.

00:07:12.260 There was an interesting handshake when there was a meeting in France as well.

00:07:17.700 I'm sure you saw some of this on social media and on the news.

00:07:21.340 I want to get your reaction to even Macron and their handshake.

00:07:25.220 It was like a fist, like, hey, we're back, bros.

00:07:28.540 Good to see you.

00:07:29.440 Yeah, look, I mean, Donald Trump shakes hands like a man, and when it came to Macron,

00:07:36.420 he shook hands in a way that was a dominating way to shake hands.

00:07:41.540 Macron was nervous.

00:07:42.740 He was uneasy.

00:07:43.660 He wasn't sure what to do.

00:07:45.080 Now, Macron's own political situation in France is incredibly tenuous.

00:07:49.260 And listen, the contrast.

00:07:50.840 Macron has been kissing up to Biden like crazy.

00:07:54.220 Biden, when he interacts with Macron and every other world leader, interacts from a position of weakness.

00:07:59.780 None of them are afraid of him.

00:08:01.040 None of them are worried about what he might do.

00:08:04.500 You know, you look at our southern border.

00:08:06.740 I'm reminded we did a podcast, I don't know, about a year, year and a half ago,

00:08:11.180 where we played AMLO, then the president of Mexico, standing next to Joe Biden

00:08:16.540 and just crowing how he's the only president in our lifetimes who has not built even one meter of wall or fence.

00:08:25.400 Ni un metro! 0.99

00:08:26.680 And he's saying, and Biden's just grinning like a goofy fool, 0.99

00:08:30.900 while AMLO is saying, well, look, this guy, we can just run all over him. 0.98

00:08:33.920 Well, we have seen that Trump is not someone that foreign leaders are going to run all over.

00:08:40.600 And so that is a powerful demonstration of the simple fact that America's back.

00:08:48.160 Now, if you want to hear the rest of this conversation,

00:08:50.900 you can go back and listen to the full podcast from earlier this week.

00:08:55.400 Canadian women are looking for more. 1.00

00:08:57.580 More to themselves, their businesses, their elected leaders, and the world around them.

00:09:01.740 And that's why we're thrilled to introduce the Honest Talk podcast.

00:09:05.460 I'm Jennifer Stewart.

00:09:06.600 And I'm Catherine Clark.

00:09:07.620 And in this podcast, we interview Canada's most inspiring women.

00:09:11.680 Entrepreneurs, artists, athletes, politicians, and newsmakers.

00:09:15.220 All at different stages of their journey.

00:09:17.400 So if you're looking to connect, then we hope you'll join us.

00:09:20.640 Listen to the Honest Talk podcast on iHeartRadio or wherever you listen to your podcasts.

00:09:26.400 Now on to story number two.

00:09:29.180 This is one of those stories where I hope that people will stand up and say,

00:09:33.400 this is a hero and be proud to say he is a hero.

00:09:38.020 Because that's exactly what he is.

00:09:40.520 And we should celebrate heroes.

00:09:42.440 And we should not have to worry that when men need to stand up and act to protect and defend people,

00:09:47.940 that they're going to do it.

00:09:49.520 And not have to worry about thinking twice because of what just happened to this individual.

00:09:53.480 It's also a really sad commentary about New York and New York City.

00:09:57.200 And the activist prosecutors there.

00:09:59.000 And finally, I want to get your thought on that with the prosecutors that went after him.

00:10:02.780 Should there be any scenario where he can, in essence, say, hey, you guys didn't treat me the right way?

00:10:10.840 Look, look, I could easily see a lawsuit following from this.

00:10:15.260 I hope Alvin Bragg is thrown out of office.

00:10:17.820 I hope he is removed from office.

00:10:20.520 The governor has the authority to do that.

00:10:22.360 Of course, the governor, Kathy Hochul, is a leftist herself, a cultural Marxist herself.

00:10:27.640 She's someone who, by the way, said, if you're a Republican, get the hell out of my state, move to Florida. 1.00

00:10:32.240 You don't belong in New York.

00:10:33.880 That is their ideology.

00:10:35.580 If you are the enemy, they are opposed to you.

00:10:38.320 I got to say, I want you to listen to Daniel Penney and him talking about how he was trying to protect other people's lives.

00:10:45.360 He was acting as a good Samaritan, acting as a hero, intervening, risking his own life.

00:10:51.100 Look, encountering a mentally ill, potentially violent person, threatening violence is a dangerous thing to do.

00:10:58.660 Here's what Daniel Penney had to say.

00:11:00.620 The guilt I would have felt if someone did get hurt, if he did do what he was threatening to do, would never be able to live with myself.

00:11:11.060 And I'll take a million court appearances and people calling me names and people hating me just to keep one of those people from getting hurt or killed.

00:11:22.860 Look, that is.

00:11:25.340 Yes.

00:11:25.540 Look, and of course, how is the left reacting?

00:11:30.040 Well, I want you to listen to MSNBC just expressing misery that Daniel Penney was acquitted.

00:11:39.880 And understand, by the way, initially, so there were two charges that were brought.

00:11:45.640 So Alvin Bragg brought two charges.

00:11:48.280 One charge was for manslaughter, and the second charge was for criminally negligent homicide.

00:11:58.680 The jury deadlocked on the second-degree manslaughter claim, which was the more serious charge.

00:12:06.400 So that means they had a disagreement.

00:12:08.880 They could not come to agreement.

00:12:11.080 And so what did Alvin Bragg do?

00:12:13.400 Well, Alvin Bragg moved to dismiss the more serious charge, and he was trying to get a conviction on the less serious charge.

00:12:21.260 And I got to say, to the jury's credit, they came back very quickly with a not guilty.

00:12:27.280 So the jury has determined he is innocent.

00:12:29.700 But listen to MSNBC and just how upset they are that this innocent man was found not guilty.

00:12:36.440 Breaking news here.

00:12:37.320 Daniel Penney found not guilty.

00:12:39.100 But, Lisa, we also know that Jordan Neely's family had filed, I believe, a civil suit in this case as well.

00:12:45.060 Does the verdict in this case impact that?

00:12:48.300 Not necessarily.

00:12:49.300 I mean, the law is rife with examples of people who are acquitted in criminal cases and yet find justice with respect to civil accountability.

00:12:58.740 I think the best example of that is with respect to Fred Goldman's family, Fred Goldman.

00:13:03.600 I'm sorry, Ron Goldman being the man who was murdered alongside Nicole Brown Simpson, even though O.J. Simpson was never found criminally guilty for those two murders.

00:13:13.920 Fred Goldman, the father, along with his daughter, then sued O.J. Simpson civilly and won a fairly large verdict with respect to civil liability for O.J. Simpson.

00:13:24.140 There are many other examples of similar disjuncture between what happens in a criminal court and what happens with respect to a wrongful death action, for example, by a family.

00:13:33.640 It's sad, Senator, but there seems to be another trend, and that is if you are an innocent person and then you are found innocent of a crime, if the media doesn't like you, they're still going to act like you're a threat to society.

00:13:45.080 Well, you look at that's a reporter, Lisa Rubin on MSNBC, who is calling for the mentally ill homeless man who was high on drugs and threatening to murder people on the train, calling for him to find justice against the Marine who intervened to protect people and keep people safe.

00:14:06.980 And she analogizes it to the O.J. Simpson case, which is utterly absurd, because, look, O.J. Simpson was charged with, and the facts were pretty powerful, was guilty of murder.

00:14:20.460 Now, to be fair, O.J. Simpson was not found guilty of murder, but there was significant evidence that O.J. was guilty.

00:14:27.180 There was significant enough evidence that he ended up being hit with a large civil judgment.

00:14:33.900 This is not remotely, there's no argument, no rational, reasonable argument under the law that Daniel Penny is guilty of murder, self-defense is fully protected.

00:14:45.980 And by the way, if perchance you don't believe me, you should listen to my former criminal law professor, Alan Dershowitz.

00:14:54.860 Now, Alan Dershowitz is a liberal, he's been a liberal his whole life, but he has the courage to speak out and speak the truth and listen to what Alan Dershowitz said about this case and about the absolutely corrupt prosecutor, Alvin Bragg.

00:15:13.240 I'm going to start off with just the immediate reaction to the not guilty verdict in the Daniel Penny case.

00:15:17.620 I have to admit I was a little surprised. Having hung on the higher count, I was not expecting that they would so quickly acquit on the lower count.

00:15:26.460 It probably shows that there were only one or two people in the original high count that hung based on their desire to see a conviction.

00:15:36.520 So I think it's a good thing. Now, I think the next step has to be the removal of Alvin Bragg from the role of district attorney.

00:15:43.200 He is a disgrace to the office. The two cases he brought should never have been brought.

00:15:49.180 The case against Donald Trump, which was made up out of whole cloth, which, to my mind, involves unethical, unprofessional conduct by Bragg.

00:15:56.860 And also this case, which should never have been brought either.

00:16:00.460 He brought it only because of the racial component of the case and because of pressures from Black Lives Matter and other groups on the outside,

00:16:08.460 both white and black radicals who wanted these cases to be brought, wanted this case to be brought.

00:16:13.720 And we're going to continue to complain, even though there were obviously black members of the jury who voted to acquit as well.

00:16:20.780 Professor, what do you make of how quickly they came back with this verdict?

00:16:24.520 And also, too, there's the civil case that that he's also facing to Daniel Penny.

00:16:29.400 Does that given that he's not guilty on the criminal case, what happens to the civil case as well?

00:16:34.960 Well, it'll be thrown out. There's no case there.

00:16:38.620 Civilly, the only thing that will happen is that Penny will get an enormous amount of discovery 0.87

00:16:44.620 and will get much more information that we don't now have about the alleged victim in the case.

00:16:52.700 So my prediction is it will be withdrawn.

00:16:55.680 I don't think they'll go any further.

00:16:57.740 I don't think they'll get any kind of a verdict.

00:16:59.460 Now, you know, maybe the city will settle if they sue the city as well.

00:17:06.180 If I were the lawyers for the alleged victim, I'd probably think I'd have a better shot of getting some money from the city,

00:17:15.640 which was sympathetic, obviously, to the victim, than from a poor former Marine who probably doesn't have a lot of money.

00:17:24.420 So I don't think the civil case is going anywhere.

00:17:27.220 This is not O.J. Simpson, where the civil case won after the criminal case lost.

00:17:31.500 There was no case here to bring it all, either civil or criminal.

00:17:35.240 Alan Dershowitz there seems to be optimistic, and I'm glad he's saying,

00:17:39.960 hey, I don't think he's going to have to deal with what, for example, O.J. Simpson had to deal with.

00:17:44.220 This is very different.

00:17:45.420 I hope he's right.

00:17:47.360 Well, listen, Alan Dershowitz, he's a good friend.

00:17:49.900 As I said, he was my criminal law professor, and I actually took another class from him in law school as well.

00:17:55.940 He was a fantastic professor.

00:17:57.200 He was the best professor I had in law school, and he's a brilliant lawyer.

00:18:00.100 He's an incredibly talented lawyer.

00:18:02.780 And, you know, I remember my first year in law school when Dershowitz stood up and he said,

00:18:10.140 listen, he said, by any reasonable measure, I am in the most liberal 1% of Americans across this country.

00:18:18.480 And he said, at Harvard Law School, oddly enough, I'm considered something of a conservative.

00:18:23.840 This is not America.

00:18:27.420 I don't remember if he said this is not America, but this is not a typical place.

00:18:30.460 I mean, this was 30 years ago, so I'm paraphrasing.

00:18:33.860 But his point was, so Dershowitz believes in free speech.

00:18:39.240 That is no longer where the left is.

00:18:41.180 The left is eager to censor someone who disagrees.

00:18:44.200 Dershowitz does not celebrate the murder of those he disagrees with.

00:18:48.440 Dershowitz is not a cultural Marxist.

00:18:50.080 He's an old-school liberal.

00:18:52.180 He's a civil libertarian.

00:18:53.580 He is, you know, has represented criminal defendants successfully.

00:18:58.840 He's gotten a lot of criminal defense off.

00:19:00.200 He believes in a vigorous protection of constitutional rights for criminal defendants.

00:19:05.900 And look, I respect his courage.

00:19:09.140 He's been demonized.

00:19:10.980 He also supports Israel and speaks out very powerfully and effective for Israel.

00:19:15.160 He's been demonized by the left for doing so because they brook no dissent.

00:19:19.400 Anyone who dares oppose them is the enemy.

00:19:22.220 And so even though he's been one of the most prominent liberals in the country for decades, he is rejected by today's left because he actually has the courage to speak out against them.

00:19:39.600 I hope he's right about the civil case.

00:19:41.720 In any sane and ordinary universe, that would be true.

00:19:44.960 I have to say I have a little bit less confidence about a New York jury and a New York judge, and maybe that's because we all saw the absolute kangaroo courts that were convened against Donald Trump.

00:19:58.020 And having seen the civil suits and the criminal case against Donald Trump in the New York justice system, he is right on what should happen.

00:20:09.820 Look, I am very grateful that Daniel Penny was acquitted, but it says something about how little confidence I have about the justice system in New York that I was not sure this would happen.

00:20:21.840 I thought there was a chance they would come back and follow through on what Alvin Bragg wanted them to do, which is punish him because he was deemed the bad guy.

00:20:33.720 And thankfully, the justice system worked in this case.

00:20:38.040 And you ought to ask yourself, have you seen even a single Democrat celebrate the Daniel Penny verdict?

00:20:46.940 Yeah, it's a great question.

00:20:48.820 And if not, why not?

00:20:50.640 As before, if you want to hear the rest of this conversation on this topic, you can go back and download the podcast from early this week to hear the entire thing.

00:21:30.120 I want to get back to the big story number three of the week you may have missed.

00:21:35.820 All right.

00:21:37.080 So let's go to the border. 0.99

00:21:38.780 And this might be one of the biggest just asinine middle fingers from this administration. 0.97

00:21:44.540 I don't know how you want to categorize this one. 0.96

00:21:47.120 But when I saw this report, it actually made me angry.

00:21:50.780 And that is that the Biden administration is saying, hey, we don't respect the voters.

00:21:55.000 We do not respect that the American people decided we want security at our southern border.

00:22:01.680 And what are they doing to stick it to you?

00:22:03.800 They're saying, all right, watch this.

00:22:05.360 We're going to sell pieces of the border wall that have not been erected yet just to say screw you to the American people.

00:22:12.460 You know, I wish what you were saying was hyperbole.

00:22:15.160 I wish it was an exaggeration, but it's not.

00:22:17.880 The Daily Wire broke this story.

00:22:19.680 And it's an exclusive story that is just it's stunning.

00:22:22.840 It's infuriating.

00:22:23.720 Here's the headline exclusive Biden races to sell off border wall parts before Trump takes office.

00:22:31.300 The goal is to move all of it, all of it off the border before Christmas.

00:22:35.800 An Arizona Border Patrol agent tells The Daily Wire.

00:22:38.940 Let me read from this story.

00:22:40.660 The Biden administration is using its final weeks to haul a massive amount of border wall materials away from the southern border to be sold off at a government auction.

00:22:49.560 An apparent effort to hinder President-elect Trump's efforts to secure the border, The Daily Wire has learned.

00:22:56.400 Videos obtained exclusively by The Daily Wire from a U.S. Customs and Border Patrol agent show unused sections of the wall being hauled away on the back of flatbed trucks from a section of the border just south of Tucson.

00:23:10.540 A hot spot for illegal crossings during the Biden administration.

00:23:15.080 The agent estimates that up to a half mile per day of unused border wall is being moved.

00:23:22.160 This is not a small amount.

00:23:23.140 This is a massive amount.

00:23:24.780 Continuing the quote.

00:23:26.120 Quote.

00:23:26.340 They are taking it from three stations, Nogales, Tucson, and Three Points, the Border Patrol agent who was granted anonymity to speak freely, told The Daily Wire.

00:23:35.420 The goal is to move it all off the border before Christmas.

00:23:39.400 And here's something.

00:23:41.060 If that doesn't make you furious, listen to this.

00:23:46.860 The auction website shows that sales occurred as recently as December 4th for precisely the types of materials being pulled off the border.

00:23:59.060 GovPlanet has online auctions set for December 11th and December 18th for more border wall material, which is listed on the company's website as, quote,

00:24:08.220 32.91 feet by 7.91 feet steel bollard wall sections with grout.

00:24:15.240 The bidding for each section of wall panels is set to begin at $5, according to the website.

00:24:26.640 And this article has multiple screenshots showing these being sold for $5 apiece.

00:24:34.480 I got to say, we talked in the first segment about the arrogance and unaccountability of the Biden Justice Department and the Biden FBI.

00:24:43.940 This is, at the end of the day, that identical arrogance, and it's an arrogance of Joe Biden, of Kamala Harris, of Alejandro Mayorkas, of Merrick Garland, and let's be clear, of Chuck Schumer and the Senate Democrats and Congressional Democrats.

00:24:58.180 Every person in America knows that the voters of America voted to secure the border.

00:25:03.400 They want that to happen.

00:25:05.020 And you know what the Democrats are saying on the way out? 0.96

00:25:07.620 Screw you. 0.99

00:25:08.600 We don't care. 1.00

00:25:09.820 We don't care about the voters.

00:25:11.720 And what we're going to do, if Trump's going to build the border wall, we're going to make it that much more expensive because we are so bitterly ideological that we will openly defy the will of the voters.

00:25:24.480 And let's just be honest about the logic, if you're just talking about the logical math that you do here.

00:25:33.520 There's no doubt that the Biden administration knows that this wall will be used.

00:25:38.580 And if they do sell it all off before Christmas at $5 a panel, that this is going to have to be repurchased at a much higher price because they just sold what we had purchased before that has not been used.

00:25:51.220 And it will be used and it will be done.

00:25:53.840 So this is just trying to make the American taxpayer suffer a little bit and to say, we can't stand you and what you guys just voted for.

00:26:04.580 This is a retribution for you voting them out of office and their way of sticking it to the American voter and taxpayer.

00:26:13.460 Well, that's right.

00:26:14.000 Now, I will say there's an aspect of this story that broke tonight.

00:26:17.340 You and I are recording this very late at night.

00:26:19.540 It's 1257 in the morning, Thursday night.

00:26:23.740 And and just this evening, the lieutenant governor of Texas, Dan Patrick, a good friend of mine, went on Laura Ingraham's show.

00:26:31.020 And he said the state of Texas is preparing to buy up the border wall segments from the Biden administration that they're selling for five bucks a piece and then donate them back to the Trump administration.

00:26:43.580 And Dan Patrick says he has up to a billion dollars of state funds to work with.

00:26:48.240 I want you to listen to Dan Patrick this evening on Laura Ingraham laying this out.

00:26:52.300 We mean business in Texas and Tom Homan means business and President Trump means business.

00:26:58.620 And I don't know if you heard the latest today, Laura, but Joe Biden is now hauling off the border wall that's been lying down for years.

00:27:06.320 And he wants to auction it off starting at five dollars a piece message to the White House right now.

00:27:12.360 I will bid on all of that wall and we will buy it in Texas and we will give it to Donald Trump.

00:27:18.840 So I'm going to find out first thing in the morning where are we going to take the bid?

00:27:23.180 I've got a billion dollars in my pocket to do it.

00:27:26.160 I write the budget with Senator Joan Huffman.

00:27:28.420 We have the money.

00:27:29.300 We're going to have about six billion in our budget for border security.

00:27:32.140 Don't drive up the cost.

00:27:33.500 Don't drive up the cost.

00:27:34.640 The first bid is only five bucks, five bucks a piece of the wall.

00:27:39.260 But I will go in and buy it all.

00:27:40.640 Yeah, I'm not going to drive up that tell you.

00:27:43.040 Yeah.

00:27:43.200 Well, what does this tell you about the Biden people?

00:27:45.580 It tells you they're now they're essentially greenlighting.

00:27:48.020 They want more people coming in.

00:27:49.560 Yeah, they're despicable what they're doing to the American people.

00:27:52.900 And the American people obviously aren't going to tolerate it.

00:27:55.400 That's why they were thrown out.

00:27:56.800 But the idea we've been trying to buy this wall for them from them for four years and they wouldn't sell it to us.

00:28:02.760 And you know what?

00:28:03.600 I'm going to check in with our Department of Public Safety.

00:28:05.980 Maybe we need to start pulling over these trucks to be sure they don't have too much weight on those trucks. 1.00

00:28:09.940 Maybe these trucks need to be slowed down. 0.50

00:28:12.400 We need to do everything we can in Texas to stop them.

00:28:16.260 The taxpayers paid for this and they want to stop President Trump in 38 or 39 days from rebuilding the wall.

00:28:23.920 I want to this.

00:28:25.020 The legacy of Joe Biden, he lets off his son.

00:28:28.700 He's letting off all these criminals.

00:28:30.260 He's doing everything he can with these blue state governors and mayors to destroy this country. 1.00

00:28:35.900 They are traitors to this country, leaving terrorists, leaving murderers, leaving rapists in this country. 0.96

00:28:41.800 And now he wants to sabotage this president before he takes off. 1.00

00:28:45.660 It is disgraceful and disgusting. 0.97

00:28:47.600 He will go down as the worst, most despicable president in the history of this country because no one has done more to damage this country and hurt American citizens. 0.97

00:28:55.880 I would agree with you on that.

00:28:58.160 I think the point he's making here is absolutely right.

00:29:00.780 But even if it's $5, you're double paying for something that we've already paid for and it's just solely out of spite.

00:29:08.020 Well, and let me say, number one, thank God for Texas.

00:29:12.100 Thank God for Texas stepping up and leading. 1.00

00:29:15.580 Dan, I'm glad you're doing that.

00:29:17.220 But I've got to say also, listen, I'm going to call on the incoming administration to investigate whoever made the decision to do this.

00:29:29.380 And let me be clear.

00:29:31.120 Let's say you're a government official, Ben, and you're pissed off at the people who are coming in after you.

00:29:38.700 You're mad at the voters because they elected someone different.

00:29:41.060 And let's say, for example, that you're running a police department.

00:29:46.840 Your dad's a cop.

00:29:47.600 You're running a police department.

00:29:48.900 And you've got a bunch of police cars that, let's say, were $40,000 apiece.

00:29:54.660 And you're mad because there's a new sheriff that's been elected.

00:29:57.560 And so you decide to take the $40,000 police cars.

00:30:00.500 Let's say you've got 10 of them.

00:30:02.160 And you go out and say, I'm going to auction the $40,000 police cars off for $5 apiece.

00:30:07.700 Because you want your successor not to have any police cars.

00:30:11.060 And so you sell $40,000 police cars for $5 apiece.

00:30:14.980 I'm going to tell you right now, that is theft from the taxpayers.

00:30:19.100 The idea, I guarantee you, those segments of the wall, they don't cost $5.

00:30:23.700 They don't cost $50.

00:30:24.840 They don't cost $500.

00:30:26.120 They don't cost $5,000.

00:30:27.600 And I've got to say, it is grotesque.

00:30:31.160 And I am calling right now for the incoming administration to investigate every person that made the decision to steal from the American taxpayers because they are such bitter partisans.

00:30:46.280 That they want to deprive the federal government of assets that the taxpayers paid for.

00:30:53.320 You don't have the right to do that.

00:30:54.660 It doesn't matter.

00:30:55.840 Nobody has the right to steal from the federal government.

00:30:58.660 If you're selling segments of this wall for $5 apiece, that, in my view, is absolute theft.
