00:00:49.140 Week in review.
00:00:50.400 Ben Ferguson with you.
00:00:51.600 And these are the stories that you may have missed that we talked about this week.
00:00:54.820 First up, there was big news this week when it comes to Venezuela, oil, and what it could
00:01:00.200 mean for America.
00:01:01.420 So how good is the deal?
00:01:02.780 And are there concerns about what actually this means moving forward?
00:01:06.660 Senator Cruz and I break that down for you.
00:01:09.080 Up next, there's a major Senate race in Texas.
00:01:12.320 James Tallarico is wanting you to believe that he's normal, but his words from the past,
00:01:17.820 especially the ones he's deleted, well, they're coming back to haunt him and we have the receipts.
00:01:22.860 And finally, as we're getting very close to the anniversary of 9-11, we're now learning exactly what El Saeed is going to be doing, and it is going to shock you.
00:01:32.840 It's the Week in Review, and it starts right now.
00:01:36.020 I want to move, Senator, to another issue real quick, which has had a lot of big breaking news over the weekend.
00:01:40.860 And that was the President United States of America announcing a historic deal with a massive amount of oil on True Social.
00:01:47.880 The President saying, we've got this deal now with Venezuela.
00:01:50.480 It is going to be huge for not just America, but the world.
00:01:54.140 And the price of gas could go down significantly for Americans.
00:01:57.080 Talk about what this is and what it means.
00:01:59.100 Well, this week, President Trump announced a new deal with Venezuela, a deal for 65 billion barrels of oil.
00:02:07.220 That is a massive amount of oil.
00:02:09.960 Venezuela has the largest proven reserves of any country on Earth.
00:02:12.920 and this is a deal that will be funded by a private company, but with the U.S. government
00:02:19.920 as a major investor in the company and under the terms that was announced, that company will have
00:02:25.280 access to the oil at cost and the U.S. government is taking an equity position and will get the
00:02:32.180 upsides in terms of the profits from that oil. I will say, as we're talking about this right now,
00:02:38.780 the full details of the deal are still somewhat opaque. It is difficult to know exactly what's
00:02:44.560 going on. My reactions initially, number one, 65 billion barrels of oil is a big deal. That is a
00:02:50.460 lot of oil, a massive amount, and the United States getting access to that, that's good for
00:02:58.780 American jobs, it's good for the economy, and it's also good in the long term for gasoline prices.
00:03:04.280 although to be fair, do not expect this to have an immediate impact on gasoline prices. It will
00:03:09.840 still take years or even decades to build up the infrastructure to produce all of that oil,
00:03:14.660 so that will not happen overnight. That being said, there are also significant concerns being
00:03:22.300 raised. Number one, this is a deal that was cut with Delce Rodriguez, who is the interim president
00:03:27.540 of Venezuela. She was Nicolas Maduro's vice president. She is a communist. She is a Marxist.
00:03:33.020 She has a long history of being viciously anti-American. Maduro was illegitimate and
00:03:38.660 Delcey Rodriguez is illegitimate. Neither one of them were elected by the people.
00:03:44.460 And the Trump administration has kept Delcey in for a period of time during transition.
00:03:50.240 What I've been saying consistently is there need to be free and fair elections. Let the people of
00:03:54.380 Venezuela choose who their leadership is rather than maintaining someone illegitimate. I still
00:03:59.720 think that's the right decision. I certainly don't want this oil deal to somehow push off
00:04:07.140 the notion that the people of Venezuela get to elect their own leaders. I don't think we should
00:04:11.640 be maintaining anti-American communists in power against the wishes of the people who elected them.
00:04:18.260 I'll say secondly, we are hearing concerns from some, particularly in the oil and gas business,
00:04:24.060 so Chevron is anticipating putting, and is contemplating at least, putting billions of
00:04:29.180 of investment into Venezuela. They already have significant investments in Venezuela.
00:04:33.920 And I got to say, if you're an American company, the prospect of competing against
00:04:39.060 another company that is business partners with the federal government, the U.S. government,
00:04:44.820 and that has a special deal with the Venezuelan government, that's going to make you as a private
00:04:50.440 company pause and say, wait, is this a fair playing field? Can I compete here? And so
00:04:56.720 how that's worked out, it's unclear at this point, but those are a concern a number in the energy
00:05:02.120 world are raising, and I think those are reasonable concerns to ask. There is also the longer-term
00:05:08.260 concern that this deal is being done through the Office of Strategic Capital at the Department of
00:05:13.820 War, and it is being done in exchange for equity ownership in the company. We've talked before on
00:05:21.320 this podcast how I am very uncomfortable with this administration's taking equity positions
00:05:28.700 in lots and lots of companies. I think that is a very bad precedent. I think it puts us on a
00:05:33.000 slippery slope. They started it with Intel taking a big equity position in Intel. I think, look,
00:05:39.920 if you look at the definition of socialism, socialism is government ownership of the means
00:05:44.820 of production or distribution in an economy. If the federal government starts taking a major
00:05:50.320 equity position and just can you say that again because that is the warning that is the warning
00:05:54.500 that people need to hear and why you're saying when the u.s government starts getting into these
00:05:59.440 businesses these private businesses and ownership positions at first it can sound great but this
00:06:04.320 goes back to when we had the big fall in 08 and lehman brothers and should america take equity
00:06:09.140 positions these companies and it was a grand economic debate but say that statement again
00:06:13.960 because this is what you mean when you say the slippery slope that if we start this what does it
00:06:19.020 end with? Does it end with government ownership in the biggest sectors and then we as Americans
00:06:23.580 are dependent on the government, not the private sector anymore? So the textbook definition of
00:06:27.640 socialism is government ownership or control of the means of production or distribution in an
00:06:35.900 economy. At the end of the day, if we end up with the federal government having equity shares,
00:06:42.080 ownership stakes in the biggest companies of America, that is socialism. It is the definition
00:06:48.280 of socialism. And there's a combination of, number one, you look at what China does,
00:06:53.180 where the Chinese government and every company in China has what's called the golden share.
00:06:57.420 And the golden share gives them the ability to control the companies. It makes every company
00:07:01.460 an arm of the government. That ain't good. I don't want every company in America to be an arm of the
00:07:07.500 federal government. And you may think it's great when it's Donald Trump, but you know what? Donald
00:07:12.040 Trump is not going to be the last president. And it ain't nearly that great if it's President
00:07:16.540 Elizabeth Warren or President AOC or whatever communist comes next. And so I think it is a
00:07:23.980 very, very dangerous proposition. And I'll tell you, President Trump and I have discussed this
00:07:29.020 multiple times. What I am urging him to do is to take these equity positions that they have taken
00:07:36.300 and before he leaves office, put them directly into the Trump accounts of 70 million kids,
00:07:43.020 transfer them out of the federal government and send them to the children of America instead so
00:07:48.160 that that way you have America with a widespread investment in the companies of America but you
00:07:53.420 don't have the government having the ability to control those companies having the ability to
00:07:58.580 dictate and by the way think about how a left-wing president would use that equity shake is share
00:08:04.480 share you know think how bad woke was now imagine a president Elizabeth Warren telling every company
00:08:11.300 We own 10% of your company. Let me tell you right now, you've got to hire 20% transgender left-handed witches.
00:08:19.820 Non-binary, blah, blah, blah.
00:08:21.280 Like that's giving government power over the private sector is a really dangerous road to be on.
00:08:31.720 And so I am encouraged that we have a deal to access a massive amount of oil.
00:08:39.580 That for energy and jobs is good, but there are also some dangerous aspects here that
00:08:44.520 we need to be cautious about and we need to think carefully through where this goes going
00:08:48.920 forward.
00:08:49.740 Now, if you want to hear the rest of this conversation, you can go back and listen to

00:09:26.740 Now on to story number two.
00:09:28.640 All right, Senator, I want to pivot real quick and move to James Tallarico.
00:09:33.740 He'd be the perfect candidate for California for Senate.
00:09:37.000 He's running, though, in Texas.
00:09:38.660 and there's those Zoom meetings and they're coming out of what he actually believes and
00:09:44.420 what he's actually said. And it's a really bad look, especially in Texas.
00:09:49.500 Well, I got to say it is a sharp contrast to what we talked about in the first part of the pod was
00:09:54.280 the Trump accounts and capitalism and creating a whole new generation of capitalists. And that's,
00:09:59.040 I am a diehard unapologetic capitalist. I believe that if people are invested in the future of
00:10:04.840 America, that's good for everyone. Well, it turns out James Tallarico believes exactly the opposite
00:10:10.260 and he's running for Senate. It's a very close race in Texas. He's not going to win. Ken Paxton
00:10:14.680 is going to be the next senator from Texas because James Tallarico is a radical. He's extreme. Now
00:10:21.160 he's trying to hide that. He's trying to pretend that he's somehow middle of the road. This is a
00:10:25.640 guy who says God is non-binary. This is a guy who says there are six genders, whatever the hell
00:10:31.320 those six are. But this week, there's a video that was unearthed where a few years back,
00:10:37.760 James Tallarico was on a Zoom call with a bunch of Sierra Club activists. I want you to listen
00:10:44.260 to what Tallarico said. This is in his own words, him speaking to radical left-wing activists just
00:10:49.540 a few years ago in 2020. The multi-faceted threat of a climate crisis, an economic crisis,
00:10:57.600 AND A SOCIAL JUSTICE CRISIS, I THINK THAT KIND OF NEW DEAL EFFORT WOULD BE THE ONLY
00:11:04.700 APPROACH TO START TO ADDRESS ALL THREE IN A THOUGHTFUL AND MEANINGFUL WAY.
00:11:08.240 GOOD FOR YOU, JIM.
00:11:10.180 THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
00:11:11.840 THE SECOND QUESTION, COMMUNITIES OF COLOR RECEIVE THE MOST HARM FROM THE IMPACTS OF CLIMATE
00:11:17.380 CHANGE AND YET RECEIVE THE LEAST GOVERNMENT SUPPORT TO DEAL WITH IT.
00:11:22.780 Tell us about one of the committees you are on or hope to be on and the most important
00:11:28.020 actions that committee could take to fight for climate justice and mitigate the impacts
00:11:32.980 of climate change for all Texans.
00:11:35.460 Yeah, and I'm so thankful that you asked this question and also thankful that young
00:11:40.700 activists have really drawn the link between climate change and white supremacy and capitalism
00:11:46.660 in our country.
00:11:47.660 I think only in the ways that all three of those oppressive systems work together are
00:11:52.660 Are we going to be able to begin the process of dismantling them?
00:11:55.780 Dismantling that word.
00:11:57.140 If you didn't hear it, he just talked about dismantling what makes this country this country.
00:12:02.240 Well, what he specifically said is he said capitalism, climate change and white supremacy are all linked together.
00:12:11.740 They are all three systems of oppression.
00:12:15.600 And he wants to dismantle all three.
00:12:18.780 Now, again, you mentioned he'd be a great Senate candidate in California. Sadly, that that is probably the case. But he ain't a great candidate in Texas because there are very few Texans who want to dismantle capitalism. That's in his own words. That's not me speaking for him. That's what he's saying he wants to do.
00:12:36.780 And by the way, in that same conversation, he said the oil and gas industry is going to go away.
00:12:45.120 And he says that Texas's leadership of the oil and gas industry, he said, is like, quote, being a leader in cassette tapes in the 1980s.
00:12:55.720 That industry is not going to last.
00:12:58.900 So he wants oil and gas to go away, which would destroy millions of jobs in the state of Texas.
00:13:05.000 And by the way, would massively benefit communist China. And Tallarico has also voted to allow communist China to buy hundreds of thousands of acres of Texas land, including land next to military bases in Texas.
00:13:19.440 so he wants to end oil and gas in texas and dismantle capitalism well listen comrade talarico
00:13:29.000 i get in in the woke circles you run in where when you say uh god is non-binary people clap
00:13:37.160 and go oh yes oh yes so nice remember talarico is the also the guy who who declared his campaign
00:13:43.360 was going to be vegan because meat is destroying the world. This is a woke radical, and the media
00:13:51.620 is deeply invested in making sure you don't know that. So this portion of the podcast, look, I'm
00:13:58.260 going to ask everyone, share this podcast, but especially the video. Watch Tallarico in his
00:14:03.700 own words, and he thinks he's just talking to left-wing radicals. So on the campaign trail
00:14:09.840 today he's not admitting he wants to dismantle capitalism that's just what he tells the radicals
00:14:15.660 the dsa nuts who elected mandami who are supporting el saeed that is james tallarico's base and it's
00:14:22.740 why he's going to lose this senate race in texas because we don't want a nutcase who wants to
00:14:27.800 dismantle capitalism we want capitalism to grow we want free enterprise and we want every american
00:14:33.900 to be an investor invested in capitalism invested in the future of our country as before if you want
00:14:39.220 to hear the rest of this conversation on this topic, you can go back and download the podcast
00:14:43.980 from early this week to hear the entire thing. There's no shortcut for saving time, but saving
00:14:49.940 money is simple. Just combine your car and home insurance with Bel Air Direct and save.
00:14:54.880 Get a quote at BelAirDirect.com. I want to get back to the big story number three of the week
00:15:02.880 you may have missed. All right, Senator, let's get into Abdul El Saeed. He is going to join a
00:15:08.740 panel uh and the anniversary a important anniversary the 25th anniversary of 9-11 is
00:15:15.020 coming up he is going to join a panel with 9-11 conspiracy theorists at an islamic convention
00:15:22.860 now this convention clearly is being done just days before the 9-11 anniversary obviously they
00:15:29.360 chose that on purpose uh but i cannot believe that more are not talking about the democratic
00:15:36.680 michigan senate nominee and and what he is scheduled to speak at and who's around him
00:15:41.820 well i gotta say it say it the democrats running for senate across the country seem to be competing
00:15:46.920 with each other in terms of who can be more radical more extreme more out of the mainstream
00:15:51.020 on on wednesday's podcast we cover james tallarico uh the extreme left-wing democrat running for
00:15:57.300 senate in texas and in particular we we uncovered uh the the zoom call he did six years ago with
00:16:04.060 left-wing activists from the Sierra Club, where he pledged to, quote, dismantle capitalism.
00:16:11.560 These guys are radicals and extreme. Well, Abdul Al-Sayed basically said to tell Rico,
00:16:17.560 hold my beer, I can be more extreme than you can. And the story you just noted, so this coming week
00:16:25.720 is the 25th anniversary of September 11th. That was the most horrific terror attack on the homeland
00:16:31.700 in American history. And instead of honoring that attack, instead of honoring the nearly 3,000
00:16:41.480 lives that were taken that day, Abdul El-Sayed is speaking at an Islamic conference that is
00:16:47.620 essentially defending the attackers. Here, I'm going to read to you a story from the Washington
00:16:52.680 Free Beacon. Democratic Senator, Michigan Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed is scheduled to speak at
00:16:57.900 Islamic convention this weekend, six days before the 25th anniversary of 9-11, on a panel alongside
00:17:05.380 a quote 9-11 truther and a Muslim cleric conspiracy theorist who has called for an examination of the
00:17:14.440 official narrative surrounding the terrorist attacks. El-Sayed is headlining the Islamic
00:17:19.760 Society of North America's annual convention in Detroit on Saturday. There El-Sayed will speak
00:17:25.540 on a panel to examine a, quote,
00:17:27.680 Turmoiled America, alongside left-wing pundits
00:17:30.820 sent Uyghur and Zaid Shakir,
00:17:35.600 an outspoken New Jersey-based cleric.
00:17:38.920 Both men have promoted conspiracy theories
00:17:41.300 surrounding 9-11, in which Al-Qaeda operatives
00:17:43.640 killed 2,977 Americans.
00:17:48.320 Quote, I no longer believe the official 9-11 story,
00:17:53.640 Uyghur declared in a social media rant in February.
00:17:57.400 Uyghur, who hosts the Young Turks YouTube show,
00:18:00.660 is now pushing debunked claims about Israeli involvement,
00:18:03.800 because, of course, Israel is the one that committed 9-11.
00:18:05.940 Don't you know that?
00:18:06.780 I mean, look, these guys are radicals and kooks.
00:18:10.480 Including the, quote, dancing Israelis myth,
00:18:13.260 an anti-Semitic conspiracy theory that posits that five Israeli spies
00:18:16.880 filmed and celebrated the terrorist attack.
00:18:19.560 Quote, I didn't know we arrested Israeli spies who were here to document the event,
00:18:24.660 wrote Uyghur, who is the uncle of Hassan Piker,
00:18:28.720 a close Al-Sayed ally who has said that America deserved 9-11.
00:18:32.380 Boy, I didn't know that.
00:18:33.140 Did you know that Uyghur is the uncle of Hassan Piker?
00:18:37.700 You know what?
00:18:38.500 I did know that only because I've had to deal with him so many times.
00:18:41.940 You know, he had to go on Piers Morgan's show and do a mea culpa after losing it
00:18:46.920 when he was debating me recently over the issue of Israel, oddly enough,
00:18:51.140 because he's absolutely obsessed with Israel and anyone that supports Israel.
00:18:55.380 And this is where the hate comes from within the Democratic Party.
00:18:58.640 You can, by the way, that clip when it went completely viral,
00:19:01.620 Piers brought him back to try to rehabilitate himself,
00:19:03.860 and then he doubled down on it, which was even funnier.
00:19:06.720 Well, Hassan Piker, who's campaigned alongside Abdul Al-Sayed,
00:19:10.620 said America deserved 9-11.
00:19:12.980 and he's the nephew of Sankh Uyghur, who now Abdul Syed is sitting on the panel with,
00:19:18.720 Uyghur was widely mocked, as one outlet described it, for going full 9-11 truther.
00:19:24.340 Similarly, Shakir has called for a, quote,
00:19:27.520 examination of what he describes as glaring weaknesses and inconsistencies in the official 9-11 narrative.
00:19:33.800 He has argued that the U.S. government used the attacks to, quote, launch a war on Islam,
00:19:38.200 and he directed followers to the writing of David Ray Giffen, a leading 9-11 conspiracy theorist,
00:19:42.980 who has argued that the United States orchestrated the attacks.
00:19:46.680 Look, these people are kooks.
00:19:47.720 This guy is standing there going,
00:19:48.780 oh yeah, the American government is the one
00:19:50.360 that knocked down the World Trade Center.
00:19:51.840 The American government's the one that attacked the Pentagon.
00:19:54.600 But they're not just kooks.
00:19:56.100 It's not just crazy.
00:19:57.500 It's not just thinking you see little green men.
00:20:00.620 It is anti-American conspiracy theories
00:20:03.340 that always, always, always blame America
00:20:05.780 and always, always, always apologize
00:20:08.080 for radical Islamic terrorists who are murdering Americans.
00:20:11.440 It is conspiracy theory with an ideological bite to it.
00:20:21.420 And look, in a September 11, 2012 essay for CNN that called Muslims, quote, another victim of 9-11,
00:20:32.260 El-Sayed cited a study conducted in California that found a dramatic increase in premature births for Muslim women after 9-11
00:20:39.920 compared to before the attacks.
00:20:42.660 El-Sayed admitted from his essay
00:20:44.220 the findings of his own study
00:20:45.700 comparing birth outcomes from Muslim women
00:20:47.640 before and after 9-11,
00:20:49.300 which found no difference in premature births.
00:20:53.380 Shakir, in addition to propagating 9-11 conspiracy theories,
00:20:57.140 has blamed Israel for other terrorist attacks
00:20:59.560 and called for Muslims to, quote,
00:21:01.760 use guerrilla warfare
00:21:04.160 to achieve their desired political outcomes.
00:21:07.300 In a 1992 treatise, Shakir argued for Muslims to embrace, quote,
00:21:13.800 extra-systemic political action, ranging from, quote, non-cooperative tactics to guerrilla war,
00:21:21.520 in order to influence government policies or eradicate the system altogether.
00:21:27.220 Shakir asserted that every major Muslim political gain in modern history was brought about through such action,
00:21:32.780 and cited the creation of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the, quote, armed struggle that led to
00:21:39.680 the Taliban control of Afghanistan. So understand this. Abdul al-Sayed is sitting next to a guy
00:21:44.740 who thinks it's great that the Ayatollah carried out a revolution in Iran and took Americans
00:21:51.620 hostage for 444 days and waged war against America for 47 years. He thinks it's great
00:21:56.300 that the Taliban took control of Afghanistan and oppressed women and enforced Sharia law on
00:22:00.680 everyone, and by the way, coddled and nurtured Al-Qaeda, which launched 9-11. These are the
00:22:06.520 radicals, and this is who El-Sayed is associating with on the anniversary of 9-11. This is who the
00:22:16.580 man is. When he tells you who he is, believe him. Who is putting on this conference where El-Sayed
00:22:22.700 is going to be hanging out with these conspiracy theorists on the, basically on the 25th anniversary
00:22:27.340 of 9-11? Well, it's a group that's called the Islamic Society of North America, and it was
00:22:33.720 founded. Do you know who one of the founders was? Who is it? Abdul El-Sayed's father-in-law. So
00:22:39.940 his father-in-law was one of the founders of this organization. By the way, his father-in-law is
00:22:44.520 also the single largest donor to Abdul El-Sayed's super PAC. So this is a man who's funding his
00:22:51.320 campaign. And what is the Islamic Society of North America? Well, it is a group with extensive ties
00:22:58.340 to the Muslim Brotherhood, which is a terrorist organization, has been designated by the U.S.
00:23:02.760 government as a terrorist organization, has been designated by Egypt and Saudi Arabia and the UAE
00:23:07.120 as a terrorist organization. And the Islamic Society of North America is closely affiliated
00:23:11.580 with the Muslim Brotherhood so closely that the Islamic Society of North America was named
00:23:17.040 an unindicted co-conspirator in a 2008 hamas fundraising case the holy land case
00:23:25.400 this is and by the way that was a case where millions of dollars had been funneled from
00:23:31.520 americans to fund hamas and to fund terror attacks the group who's an unindicted co-conspirator in
00:23:39.280 that is who is hosting abdul al-sayed by the way another speaker at the conference
00:23:43.760 is a texas-based cleric named yasir khadi who has called the holocaust a hoax these are not
00:23:52.260 mainstream these are not normal people these are radicals and i want to note also do you know who
00:23:56.900 used to be on the agenda he's not going to be on the agenda but he was originally who was that
00:24:01.100 a pakistani cleric named tarik masood he was scheduled to appear at the event and he admitted
00:24:10.820 to forcing his 13 year old niece into marriage. Wow. In compliance with what he believed was
00:24:19.780 Islamic law. And he's been accused of pedophilic rhetoric and marriage with her own family. And he
00:24:26.220 argued that Muslims should marry their 13 year old nieces and nephews and their family and should
00:24:34.500 essentially rape children. So this Pakistani cleric was on the agenda, and actually Verdict
00:24:41.640 covered this. We covered this in a previous pod, and we said Abdul al-Sayed is speaking alongside
00:24:45.940 this person who quite openly bragged about pressuring his 13-year-old niece, forcing her
00:24:52.780 into marriage, and said this was a good thing. And Abdul al-Sayed's defense at the time was,
00:24:58.200 well, yeah, we're both speaking at the same conference, but we're on different panels. I'm
00:25:01.840 not speaking on the same panel with him he's on a different panel the public outcry was so great
00:25:06.660 that they canceled the cleric tarik masoud but you know what abdul al-sad is still speaking there
00:25:11.840 with every other conspiracy theorist and being an anti-american holocaust denying 9-11 truther
00:25:19.900 hamas and al-qaeda defending zealot and islamist well that that that is apparently a very popular
00:25:26.460 thing in the democrat party right now yeah it really really is and this again goes back to
00:25:32.220 the civil war that we're witnessing right now in the democratic party it's really funny by the way
00:25:36.720 and i want to get your reaction to this you had some democrats come out and say that hassan piker
00:25:43.440 and al-sayed basically need to get out of the democratic party that they're not stop using the
00:25:47.720 word democrat with socialists of america james carville came out and said that i kind of laughed
00:25:53.180 at his meltdown because it's only because they're afraid they're going to lose that they're now
00:25:57.660 saying this they did not keep any of these crazies in check and now he's like get out of my party
00:26:03.540 uh you don't you know get quit using the name democratic just be a socialist if you're going
00:26:08.500 to be a socialist and and my response would be well then why did you allow them to run in the
00:26:13.260 democratic primaries if you're now claiming that they are not democrats look they're taking over
00:26:19.180 the Democrat Party. And it's clear that not every Democrat in the Senate or House is a Marxist or
00:26:28.600 an Islamist, but every one of them is terrified of the Marxist and Islamist. And they're holding
00:26:34.700 the party hostage. They're winning primaries all over the country, from New York City to Michigan
00:26:39.660 to Colorado to Florida to Oklahoma. And all the Democrats are terrified. And by the way,
00:26:46.900 these radicals pretend they're not as radical as as as they are so for example i want to listen to
00:26:54.240 you i want you to listen to abdul al-sayed on cbs um talking about uh 9-11 and pretending that
00:27:02.940 he's much more reasonable on it give a listen we noticed that there were some resurfaced posts on
00:27:08.700 9-11 um and i was wondering if it's making it challenging to reach more republican or more
00:27:14.640 moderate voters in this race well i mean i think all of us look back and say 9-11 was an awful
00:27:19.400 thing that happened in this country and i think all of us also look back and say think about all
00:27:23.880 the wars that were fought and how much safer do we feel like they made us how many lives did they
00:27:29.600 ruin and my point is just to say that what happened on 9-11 is a disaster it was a terrible
00:27:36.740 attack on our country and our responsibility is also to think about how do we build an america
00:27:42.560 where we are protecting our servicemen and women
00:27:47.280 from being asked to fight wars we have no business fighting
00:27:50.740 that ultimately end up doing harm to people.
00:27:54.840 And we're seeing that right now.
00:27:56.620 You know, you look at the consequences of this war,
00:27:59.640 that we have no business fighting,
00:28:01.500 the billions of dollars that are being spent to raise our gas prices.
00:28:05.900 We're in a quagmire we don't know how to get out of.
00:28:08.240 And you'd think that after the disasters in Afghanistan
00:28:12.000 and Iraq that we would have learned a lesson but apparently not and so I just think it's really
00:28:17.680 important for us to be learning the lessons of our history and I'm talking to Michiganders every
00:28:23.320 single day who wonder when the era of all these wars is going to end because that's what Donald
00:28:27.340 Trump said he was going to do he said America first I'm America first right there is not a day
00:28:31.980 that goes by that I don't think about uh the the destruction uh that 9-11 wrought and also think
00:28:38.800 about how do we build in America where we're not constantly fighting wars we have no business to
00:28:44.680 fight both of those things can be true all right so senator you you hear that and it is again he's
00:28:51.700 he's clearly saying all right I got to pivot from what I've been saying what I really believe
00:28:55.980 and I'm going to totally change it and you're like all right buddy sure I believe you so what's
00:29:00.840 interesting if you actually listen to the words he said he's not even entirely pivoting so like
00:29:04.940 what he says there at the end is, quote, there's not a day that goes by that I don't think about
00:29:10.360 the destruction that 9-11 wrought. What's interesting, when he's talking about destruction
00:29:15.220 that 9-11 wrought, he doesn't mean the 3,000 Americans murdered. He means the destruction
00:29:21.000 that America destroyed Al-Qaeda, that America destroyed the Taliban. He is mourning that it
00:29:27.120 costs the terrorists their lives. And by the way, if you think, well, no, no, no, surely that can't
00:29:34.400 be the case. As I mentioned, he had made a ton of tweets about 9-11, and when he launched a
00:29:44.320 Senate campaign, what did he do? He deleted all of them. So there were 11 tweets from 2020 to 2022
00:29:51.920 in which he trivialized 9-11, and you listen to some of them. So here's one he said.
00:29:58.540 The fact that the U.S. government continues to pit the Afghan people against 9-11 families is
00:30:03.000 appalling. All are victims. All deserve the full share of support they are owed. Here's another
00:30:10.040 one. The hypocrisy of the U.S. war on terror, withholding humanitarian aid from the Afghan
00:30:15.640 people who had nothing to do with 9-11 but endured 20 years of war for it and are now facing famine
00:30:21.200 while exporting weapons to Saudi government allies that exported the ideology that created
00:30:26.340 bin Laden. Here's another one. Defending America never should have meant responding to tribalistic
00:30:31.660 grievance with tribalistic grievance as so much of the post 9-11 era has been. Rather, it should
00:30:38.240 have meant embracing the ideals that transcend it. Here's another very revealing one that he sent
00:30:44.920 on September 11, 2021. Quote, today I mourn the 3,000 lives, 6,000 injuries, and infrastructural
00:30:54.960 devastation in new york perpetuated ignorantly in the name of my faith tomorrow i'll mourn the
00:31:02.760 one million lives millions of injuries and infrastructural devastation in three countries
00:31:08.840 perpetuated ignorantly in the name of my country so understand when he's saying he weeps the
00:31:14.760 devastation of 9-11 he doesn't mean the americans killed he means he's he's mourning that we killed
00:31:22.680 so many al-Qaeda terrorists and Taliban terrorists. That's who he's mourning. And here's another
00:31:30.120 tweet that he deleted. COVID-19 has taken over 3,000 American lives, more than 9-11. I hope that
00:31:36.040 means we'll spend the next 10 years fighting a war for public health and against climate change
00:31:39.740 and poverty, like we launched a global war on terror after 9-11. We could save lives rather
00:31:45.140 than than take them this is over and over and over again uh he he has sent tweet after tweet
00:31:55.240 after tweet and and the amazing thing is he deleted them all he thought no one would notice
00:32:02.240 and and this is someone this is someone who wants to represent the state of michigan
00:32:07.180 in the united states senate and and and he won the primary and and among radicals by the way
00:32:13.280 Bernie Sanders is supporting him. Elizabeth Warren is supporting him. AOC is supporting him.
00:32:17.700 Chuck Schumer is supporting the guy. The senator from New York is supporting the guy who is
00:32:24.180 mourning the terrorist who carried out the 9-11 attacks. It is astonishing. As always, thank you
