00:00:00.000 This is an iHeart Podcast.
00:00:02.680 Guaranteed human.
00:00:04.460 Welcome.
00:00:05.100 It is the Verdict with Senator Ted Cruz, Ben Ferguson with you.
00:00:08.240 And this may be one of the most complicated shows we've ever done.
00:00:11.120 If you're joining us on the radio, it's so nice to have you as well.
00:00:14.640 We had done the show and now we are doing a new update to the show.
00:00:19.260 I just got off a plane from Israel and we're going to talk about that in next week's episodes
00:00:23.700 because we have so much breaking news to talk about right now.
00:00:26.220 So, and Senator, this is all going to be about the shutdown, but also the elections that took place in New York City and around the country as well.
00:00:34.880 Where are we and what are we going to be covering with the shutdown today?
00:00:38.320 Well, that's exactly right.
00:00:39.720 We're going to let you know exactly where we are on the government reopening on negotiations.
00:00:44.000 The shutdown continues.
00:00:45.180 We're going to tell you where things stand.
00:00:46.660 That's why we're doing this episode at 11.50 a.m. on Friday just to get the latest breaking news.
00:00:53.100 We're also going to talk in particular about flight delays and what's going on at the FAA and how that impacts you if you or your family are traveling.
00:01:00.660 And then we're going to do a deep dive into the election, in particular in New York City, Comrade Mondami,
00:01:07.160 and what it means, what it says, who voted for him, what the numbers show.
00:01:13.040 And it actually reveals a lot about what's happening in New York and what's happening all across the country.
00:01:17.380 All of that on today's pod.
00:01:19.400 Yeah, it's really incredible.
00:01:20.420 I want to talk to you real quick about our amazing sponsor, and it is Patriot Mobile.
00:01:25.460 I just went to Israel, and people ask me all the time, how good is the coverage because you want to stay with the big mobile companies?
00:01:31.860 I've been saying now for years, and they've been in business for well over a decade, that it is amazing coverage.
00:01:37.860 If you've got coverage right now you love, you're going to love your coverage of Patriot Mobile even more,
00:01:42.060 but you get rid of the woke left agenda.
00:01:43.980 I am proud to report to you that my phone worked in Israel.
00:01:47.740 I traveled internationally and had zero issues with my cell service.
00:01:53.720 Whether I was in Bethlehem or literally calling from Gaza at the Gaza Strip, this is not a joke,
00:01:59.600 I had amazing coverage everywhere that I went.
00:02:03.400 I flew back to the U.S.
00:02:04.620 My phone worked perfectly.
00:02:05.960 My emails, all the data.
00:02:07.740 I was posting on social media from my phone.
00:02:10.520 Tel Aviv last night.
00:02:11.780 It was phenomenal.
00:02:12.820 So if you're worried about coverage, don't be.
00:02:16.360 Now, why should you switch to Patriot Mobile?
00:02:18.000 Not only are you probably going to save real money every month, but then the magic happens.
00:02:22.160 A portion of your bill every month goes back to support conservative causes, candidates, organizations,
00:02:28.460 that fight for our First and our Second Amendment rights, the rights of unborn children.
00:02:32.600 And they do something that's really special.
00:02:34.520 They stand with our men and women in uniform.
00:02:36.180 Whether it's police officers or law enforcement in general or our men and women that fight for this country overseas.
00:02:44.080 They stand with our wounded warriors and our fallen families who have lost a loved one
00:02:48.000 so that there is the financial need and aid that is needed.
00:02:51.180 So that's why I want you to switch to Patriot Mobile.
00:02:53.820 Because every time you pay that bill, you're making a real difference.
00:02:57.060 Now, I also want to give you a free month of service.
00:02:59.480 Go to patriotmobile.com slash verdict.
00:03:01.600 That's patriotmobile.com slash verdict.
00:03:05.160 Or call them 972-PATRIOT.
00:03:08.200 That's 972-PATRIOT.
00:03:09.700 For a free month of service, switch today, make a difference.
00:03:13.560 patriotmobile.com slash verdict or 972-PATRIOT.
00:03:17.000 And get a free month of service with a promo code VERDICT.
00:03:20.260 All right, Senators.
00:03:21.020 So we're sitting here Friday, mid-morning.
00:03:23.980 Where are we with this government shutdown?
00:03:25.980 Because it's just insane.
00:03:27.520 This is the longest shutdown ever.
00:03:28.660 And there's Democrats that are celebrating this right now.
00:03:31.640 Let's be clear about that as well.
00:03:33.340 Yeah, unfortunately, there's been a whole lot of hurry up and wait.
00:03:37.180 We are expected sometime today, sometime on Friday,
00:03:40.900 to vote yet again on another bill to reopen the government.
00:03:44.620 The plan is to have a vote that has three appropriations bills,
00:03:49.940 has the ag appropriation bills.
00:03:53.060 That also includes food stamps, a bill that is the military construction appropriation bill
00:04:01.220 and the Veterans Administration and the ledge branch appropriation bills.
00:04:06.740 Those are three appropriation bills that passed with big bipartisan majorities
00:04:10.840 out of the appropriations committee.
00:04:13.260 The plan is to put that on the floor of the Senate today,
00:04:16.900 along with a continuing resolution that would extend the rest of government and vote on it.
00:04:23.280 And the amazing thing is, this was the Democrats' their ask.
00:04:28.360 They wanted to do this.
00:04:29.660 Now, I think there's a very real possibility the Democrats will vote it down later today.
00:04:33.980 We don't know.
00:04:35.280 The Democrats are having a vigorous battle within their conference.
00:04:39.500 At lunch yesterday, they were apparently going at it.
00:04:43.620 And there's a chunk of Democrats who recognize that this is really hurting a lot of people.
00:04:49.080 This is hurting.
00:04:50.160 It's now been over a month.
00:04:52.620 You've got federal workers who are not getting paid.
00:04:55.020 You've got Border Patrol agents who are not getting paid.
00:04:57.260 You've got ICE agents who are not getting paid.
00:04:59.320 You've got FBI agents who are not getting paid.
00:05:01.740 You have TSA agents who are not getting paid.
00:05:04.020 You have air traffic controllers who are not getting paid.
00:05:06.240 And this keeps going and going and going.
00:05:09.580 And so there are about a dozen Democrats who keep talking to the Republicans and saying,
00:05:15.460 OK, we're getting ready to be ready to open the government.
00:05:19.780 Here's the problem.
00:05:21.480 Tuesday was a horrible election for America.
00:05:26.080 But if you're a left-wing radical, it was a great election for you.
00:05:31.160 And the left-wing radicals are now energized.
00:05:34.040 So you've got the crazies in the Democrat Party who are standing up to their colleagues saying,
00:05:39.160 this shutdown is fantastic.
00:05:41.760 Let's keep the government shut down more because the crazies are winning.
00:05:46.260 And so that battle, I don't know how that battle will shake out.
00:05:49.920 But there are...
00:05:50.500 And that's a battle, by the way, the Democrats are having right now.
00:05:53.040 That's why we had to update this show.
00:05:54.700 They're fighting right now.
00:05:55.860 There's a significant group of donors, supporters, political operatives that are calling and saying,
00:06:02.200 do not open this government, guys.
00:06:03.960 We believe this is good for us in hurting Donald Trump and the White House.
00:06:07.440 And be damned who hurts the American people.
00:06:10.880 Look, and in hearings, I mean, I had multiple Democrats yesterday who would say their talking point.
00:06:16.900 They say, well, Republicans have the White House.
00:06:19.880 Republicans control the Senate.
00:06:21.120 Republicans control the House.
00:06:22.420 This is your fault.
00:06:23.420 That's their talking point.
00:06:25.480 And as I responded to Ben Ray Lujan, Democrat from New Mexico, who said that,
00:06:30.180 I said, you know, every witness, when they go and testify in a court of law,
00:06:33.320 they're required to take an oath and an oath to testify to the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.
00:06:39.100 And what Mr. Lujan said, each of the pieces was accurate.
00:06:42.600 He told the truth.
00:06:44.360 But he failed in the second of those, the whole truth, because he omitted the central issue.
00:06:50.260 And the central issue is this, in order to pass a government funding bill under the Senate rules, you need 60 votes.
00:06:57.580 Now, Senator Lujan and every Democrat knows that.
00:07:00.820 We only have 53 Republicans.
00:07:03.300 That means we need at least seven Democrats to open the government.
00:07:07.660 Again, they know that.
00:07:08.680 The reason the government is shut down, 14 different times the Republicans, we have voted to open the government, 14 separate times the Democrats have voted to keep it shut down.
00:07:19.280 They are filibustering right now funding the government.
00:07:22.440 They know that, and they just omit the facts.
00:07:24.360 They say, well, Republicans are in charge and there's a shutdown, so it's your fault.
00:07:27.580 Ha ha.
00:07:27.880 And it is profoundly dishonest.
00:07:31.940 And understand, they know they're being dishonest, but you know who also knows they're being dishonest?
00:07:37.400 ABC News, NBC News, CBS News, CNN, MSNBC.
00:07:41.620 And none of them are covering it.
00:07:43.640 Yeah.
00:07:44.100 They're pushing the propaganda.
00:07:44.880 They're all like, well, the Republicans shut the government down.
00:07:46.640 And they just, they know they're lying.
00:07:48.060 And they're doing it nonetheless because they think it gives political benefits to the Democrats.
00:07:56.100 Yeah.
00:07:56.640 And it's facts be damned.
00:07:58.140 Let me ask you this question as well.
00:08:00.000 Do you believe that the American people are now at the point where they're so frustrated that this becomes a political liability for the presidency because of what the media is doing?
00:08:11.160 And we'll explain more about that after the break, but I want your initial thoughts on that.
00:08:14.520 Look, I think people are very frustrated and it's about to get much, much worse because flight delays are about to step, get dramatically worse.
00:08:25.100 And in just a moment, I'm going to tell you about a conversation I had with the administrator of the FAA as to why flight delays are going to get so much worse and how it's going to impact you or your family.
00:08:36.220 If you're flying anywhere, if you're flying for vacation, if you're flying for work, this is going to impact you in a big, big way.
00:08:42.800 And I hope that will finally pressure the Democrats to do the right thing and let us reopen the government.
00:08:48.640 Democrats have clearly orchestrated this to inflict pain.
00:08:53.240 Now, I was flying Thursday night into Friday internationally coming into two major airports, one from Tel Aviv into Newark and then Newark to IAH Houston.
00:09:06.420 Listen, the problems you could see as soon as we landed in Newark, we landed there about 3 a.m.
00:09:13.300 And the lines were outside and there were people that were crying when we were changing your bags.
00:09:18.320 You grab your bags internationally, you go back and recheck them in for domestic.
00:09:21.500 People that had been there overnight, people were sleeping in a lot of the corridors of the airport.
00:09:27.100 It was very clear there was a breakdown.
00:09:29.620 There was starting to be a breakdown.
00:09:30.680 The lines were insanely long as well when you're going through security.
00:09:35.900 And you can see Democrats are cheering this, thinking this will be a breaking point for the American people.
00:09:41.720 When I arrived in Houston, it was also turning into what I refer to as that holiday S type chaos.
00:09:48.880 You've ever flown at Thanksgiving or Christmas, New Year's, you know what I'm talking about.
00:09:54.440 That is the feel that you're starting to get in the airports, I think, in a lot of places nationwide.
00:09:59.200 This is all by design by the Democrats, hoping you'll just throw your hands up and say, enough, make a deal, Republicans, and just give in to whatever they want so I can go back to my normal life.
00:10:10.000 So let me give you some facts and hard data behind that.
00:10:14.080 There are roughly 50,000 TSA agents.
00:10:16.800 Many of them are going into work every day.
00:10:19.060 They're not being paid.
00:10:20.040 They missed their last paycheck.
00:10:21.300 They're not being paid.
00:10:22.080 That means that they're trying to figure out how to pay their mortgage, how to pay their rent, how to feed their kids, how to pay their basic bills.
00:10:28.480 There are roughly 14,000 air traffic controllers across the country.
00:10:32.580 Many of them are going into work as well.
00:10:34.480 They're not being paid.
00:10:35.520 They missed their last paycheck.
00:10:37.420 The consequence, we've seen thousands upon thousands of flights canceled.
00:10:41.380 We've seen many more flights delayed.
00:10:44.300 Just this week, the FAA announced a mandatory 10% reduction on air traffic in the 40 largest airports in America.
00:10:54.640 Now, yesterday, I did a call with the administrator of the FAA, and he gave some more details.
00:10:59.560 So the 40 airports in Texas, that includes Bush Airport in Houston, it includes Hobby Airport in Houston, it includes DFW Airport in Dallas, and it includes Dallas Love Field.
00:11:10.900 So those are the four Texas airports, but it's the 40 biggest airports in the country.
00:11:15.540 Now, here's what the FAA told us, and this was a call with me, with Maria Cantwell, who's the ranking member of the Senate Commerce Committee, the senior Democrat, and then the same two, the top Republican and Democrat in the House Committee that has jurisdiction over the FAA.
00:11:31.540 Administrator Bedford said the safety data started to get worse last week.
00:11:36.540 Last Friday, which was Halloween, half of the busiest 30 air traffic control facilities were short-staffed.
00:11:45.320 That included New York, Austin, Newark, Phoenix, Washington, Nashville, Dallas, and Denver.
00:11:52.280 Listen to this statistic.
00:11:54.760 Nearly 80%, 8-0% of the air traffic controllers in New York City called out.
00:12:02.580 In other words, they didn't show up to work.
00:12:04.260 This is Chuck Schumer's home jurisdiction.
00:12:07.800 Nearly 80% of the controllers did not come in to work.
00:12:12.680 Delays were dramatic as a result.
00:12:16.160 Here's the aggregate data.
00:12:17.440 This is the whole national airspace system.
00:12:20.300 The aggregate data looked okay, but de-aggregated data, so when they broke it down at the top 40 airports, painted a different picture.
00:12:29.040 Here's a stat that is very concerning.
00:12:31.040 Pilots filed more than 500 voluntary safety reports about air traffic control problems they were encountering.
00:12:42.200 500?
00:12:43.480 500.
00:12:44.080 500.
00:12:45.020 More than 500.
00:12:45.940 The FAA continually tracks data, and they did the right thing by identifying a trend, and the controllers, they are overworked, they are fatigued.
00:12:57.600 You have many fewer controllers who are responsible for keeping people safe.
00:13:03.160 There's already an incredibly high-stress job, and the way the reductions are going to work, airlines will incrementally reduce flights.
00:13:12.080 So they're reducing flights by 4% today, by 6% on Tuesday, by 8% on Thursday, and then 10% reductions on Friday.
00:13:23.300 So what does that mean math-wise?
00:13:26.440 There are roughly 45,000 commercial flights a day, and that means nearly 5,000 flights are going to be canceled every single day if the shutdown extends.
00:13:39.800 Now, the Department of Transportation is requiring the airlines to give full refunds, but 5,000 flights a day, that's going to impact if you assume 100 people on each flight.
00:13:53.220 Many flights have more than 100 people, but if you assume 100 people on each flight, that is 500,000 people a day.
00:14:01.020 I think that's probably a low number.
00:14:03.040 I'm sure it's a low number, but it's easy math.
00:14:06.960 I'm a lawyer, not a mathematician.
00:14:08.960 500,000 people a day are going to have their flights canceled because Chuck Schumer and the Democrats refuse to pay the salaries of the air traffic controllers.
00:14:19.640 And listen, a senior Democrat aide told Politico that the Democrats will keep the government shut down until, quote, until planes start falling from the sky.
00:14:33.040 Wow.
00:14:33.680 This shutdown is dangerous.
00:14:35.360 That's not funny.
00:14:36.480 That's not a good thing to joke about.
00:14:38.440 We did see one plane crash already of a UPS plane, and God forbid that Democrat staffer's projection comes true, but the Democrats are playing with fire.
00:14:52.320 They are gambling with people's lives, and we need to pay the damn air traffic controllers, and the American people are paying the price of this petulant political stuff.
00:15:01.900 Well, to be clear, you guys have had the ability, if Democrats would have said yes, to pay them and keep them working, correct?
00:15:08.600 Yeah.
00:15:09.140 We actually had a separate vote.
00:15:11.800 So Ron Johnson had a bill that said pay essential workers.
00:15:16.340 It was very simple.
00:15:17.440 It said everyone who has to come in to work, and that includes air traffic controllers, they should get paid.
00:15:22.880 We should not freeze their paycheck.
00:15:24.720 And you know what happened?
00:15:25.400 When the Democrats' party line voted against it, said, nope, we're not going to pay the federal workers that we're making come in to work.
00:15:33.000 We're not going to pay the air traffic controllers.
00:15:35.540 And the reason they do that is because they know the press will lie for them and just blame it all on Trump.
00:15:41.020 It's a straight-up vote.
00:15:42.300 The Republicans are voting to open the government.
00:15:44.820 The Democrats are voting to shut it down.
00:15:46.600 And yet they're lying with the media's happy complicity.
00:15:49.920 Canadian women are looking for more, more out of themselves, their businesses, their elected leaders, and the world around them.
00:15:57.220 And that's why we're thrilled to introduce the Honest Talk podcast.
00:16:00.960 I'm Jennifer Stewart.
00:16:02.120 And I'm Catherine Clark.
00:16:03.340 And in this podcast, we interview Canada's most inspiring women.
00:16:07.100 Entrepreneurs, artists, athletes, politicians, and newsmakers, all at different stages of their journey.
00:16:12.840 So if you're looking to connect, then we hope you'll join us.
00:16:15.820 Listen to the Honest Talk podcast on iHeartRadio or wherever you listen to your podcasts.
00:16:22.260 All right, so let's break down the election.
00:16:24.900 It was a, quote, disaster.
00:16:27.380 The media was just thrilled of what happened on election night.
00:16:31.780 Mandani is the one, though, that I want to really focus on for a second.
00:16:35.220 He is a communist.
00:16:36.560 He's a proud communist.
00:16:37.760 He went back to his core beliefs in his victory speech, basically yelling at Donald Trump and saying,
00:16:42.960 we are a communist city.
00:16:44.120 The red apple literally now is red apple of communism.
00:16:49.400 Breaking this down, this seems to be a point where Democrats are actually almost doubling down on this type of extremism in their party.
00:16:57.220 I think this is actually going to grow between now and the midterms.
00:17:00.240 And I want your reaction to what we learned.
00:17:03.200 Well, Comrade Mandami is the face of the Democrat Party now.
00:17:07.820 And I've got to say, the election results this week, they were a disaster.
00:17:13.100 They were an absolute blowout.
00:17:15.340 What is striking is several things.
00:17:17.200 Number one, turnout was exceptionally high among the left-wing base.
00:17:21.020 And that's a real warning sign for next year, for the midterms.
00:17:25.360 The left showed up in massive numbers.
00:17:28.720 They're pissed.
00:17:29.940 They hate Donald Trump.
00:17:31.460 And that anger is dangerous.
00:17:34.320 That anger is motivating.
00:17:37.040 And too many folks on the right, too many kind of in the common sense middle, stayed home.
00:17:42.480 And I will tell you, if you look historically, all right, let's go back to 2008.
00:17:47.800 2008, Barack Obama's elected.
00:17:50.060 As a result, a lot of folks on the right, you and me included, were really unhappy.
00:17:53.920 We didn't like Barack Obama's policies.
00:17:55.820 We were pissed off.
00:17:57.220 2010 was a massive tidal wave year.
00:18:00.700 It was the Tea Party wave.
00:18:02.160 And it was in large part because those on the right were particularly energized and angry.
00:18:08.400 Fast forward to 2012.
00:18:09.840 2012, Barack Obama is reelected president.
00:18:12.480 And the reaction, again, 2014 was another wave election, a huge election.
00:18:17.340 We won nine Senate seats.
00:18:19.140 We retired Harry Reid as majority leader.
00:18:21.240 We won the biggest majority in the House since 1928.
00:18:24.800 And it was because, again, those on the right were angry.
00:18:28.320 They were energized.
00:18:29.280 They were contributing money.
00:18:30.300 They volunteered.
00:18:30.940 And those on the left were complacent.
00:18:32.440 By the way, fast forward to 2018.
00:18:35.520 Donald Trump had just been elected in 2016.
00:18:37.940 2018 was a very good Democrat year.
00:18:40.440 We lost a bunch of seats.
00:18:42.320 Why?
00:18:42.660 Because the left was really energized.
00:18:44.760 And folks on the right were a little bit complacent.
00:18:47.500 This week's election day suggests that we're in real danger of that happening again in 2026.
00:18:53.480 That the left, I'll tell you on fundraising, the left is outraising the right anywhere between three to one and four to one.
00:19:00.200 And that is really, really dangerous.
00:19:02.420 And the turnout, the turnout in Virginia, the left showed up in much bigger numbers.
00:19:06.480 The turnout in New Jersey, the left showed up in much bigger numbers.
00:19:08.800 The turnout in New York City, the left turned out in much bigger numbers.
00:19:12.040 Now, Ben, I'll tell you one of the most interesting.
00:19:14.680 Do you know what demographic was dominated by the radical left wing on Election Day?
00:19:20.180 This is shocking because you and I, we geek out on the political stuff and data after elections.
00:19:27.840 Young people in the Democratic Party were really ready to go vote.
00:19:32.360 Yeah, but let me be more precise.
00:19:34.300 Young women.
00:19:36.160 And let me give you some stats.
00:19:37.300 In New York City, among young women, 18 to 29, 81 percent, 81 percent voted for Comrade Mamdani.
00:19:48.680 In New Jersey.
00:19:50.080 18 to 29.
00:19:51.700 Wow.
00:19:52.780 In New Jersey, among young women, 80 percent voted for Mikey Sherrill, the Democrat in New Jersey, of young women.
00:20:00.420 In Virginia, 78 percent of young women voted for Abigail Spanberger.
00:20:08.280 It was dominant.
00:20:09.920 And by the way, to give you a comparison, because, yes, young people went left, but there was a big gender gap.
00:20:15.880 So, young women in New York, 81 percent for Mondami.
00:20:20.820 Young men, 64 percent for Mondami.
00:20:23.580 So, almost a 20-point gender gap.
00:20:26.320 How about New Jersey?
00:20:28.040 Young women, 80 percent for Mikey Sherrill.
00:20:32.300 54 percent of young men.
00:20:34.800 So, a 25, 26 percent gender gap in New Jersey.
00:20:39.720 How about Virginia?
00:20:41.300 78 percent for Spanberger of young women.
00:20:45.320 Just 56 percent of young men in Virginia.
00:20:49.280 So, we saw that this was a race where the single most overwhelming demographic was young women, which was so overwhelmingly lopsided that it helped drive the results on Election Day.
00:21:02.080 When you think about this, and then it goes back to, okay, what was the messaging that was connecting with young women to have them come out in these numbers?
00:21:11.140 Or was it not so much of a message?
00:21:13.420 And this is part of the breakdown of trying to figure out what you learned from an election to make sure before the midterms we can either, we can course correct it.
00:21:20.160 Or was it just that the left and women in the Democratic Party were so motivated compared to conservative women?
00:21:27.400 I call it the Trump slump.
00:21:29.080 You feel like your party's in power.
00:21:31.120 You feel like they're doing the things that you asked them to do.
00:21:33.620 Complacency.
00:21:33.920 Donald Trump is putting in complacency.
00:21:36.160 But you feel comfortable because you're like, we just won an election.
00:21:40.340 Yeah.
00:21:40.560 Things are great.
00:21:41.380 Donald Trump's doing what he said he was going to do.
00:21:42.980 So when you look at it, was it issue-based, based on data that we've seen, or was it more just the other side was so angry that Donald Trump won and they wanted to win so badly to send a middle finger to the president that they showed up in these record numbers and they voted for their candidate?
00:21:58.980 Yeah.
00:21:59.420 We don't have that data yet.
00:22:01.300 There will be time to break that out, but we don't have it right now.
00:22:04.080 But I'll give you another aspect in New York City.
00:22:06.300 So there was a massive difference based on whether you were a longtime New Yorker or you were new to the city.
00:22:14.860 So if you're a New York voter and you had been in New York City, you'd lived in New York City less than five years, what percent of the people who lived in New York City less than five years do you think voted for Comrade Bandhani?
00:22:27.620 Got to be overwhelmingly high.
00:22:31.320 83%.
00:22:31.640 All right.
00:22:33.000 How about five to ten years?
00:22:34.100 What do you think five to ten years?
00:22:36.300 I would say it's probably still fairly high, but not as high as that first group.
00:22:42.260 76%.
00:22:42.660 Wow.
00:22:44.020 Okay, let's go ten years or more, but not born in New York City.
00:22:48.140 What do you think the percentage is?
00:22:50.660 About 50%.
00:22:51.920 54%.
00:22:52.300 54%.
00:22:53.300 So it drops from 76, five to ten years, to 54.
00:22:57.720 How about I was born in New York City, which, by the way, is 47% of the voters were born in New York City.
00:23:02.760 What do you think, what percent of the vote do you think Bandhani got of people born in New York City?
00:23:08.040 I'm going to guess below 50%.
00:23:10.280 34%.
00:23:13.120 Cuomo got 45%.
00:23:14.820 So Cuomo beat Bandhani by 11 points among people born in New York.
00:23:19.940 But among people who lived in New York less than five years, Bandhani beat him 83% to 15%.
00:23:27.720 So it is overwhelmingly...
00:23:29.900 There was a clear...
00:23:30.280 Yeah.
00:23:32.080 Clear what?
00:23:32.540 There was a clear rowing cry from Bandhani, and he did this in his campaigning.
00:23:36.900 He did it, by the way, in his victory speech.
00:23:39.600 He said that New York City is a city of immigrants.
00:23:43.720 In other words, if you came here recently, I'm your guy, the establishment, the old school, the American citizen, you're not a priority in New York City anymore.
00:23:52.520 This reminds me an awful lot of what we were talking about 10 years ago in major cities in the U.K.
00:23:59.340 We are seeing a lot of those same type of results now in New York City.
00:24:03.600 Yeah.
00:24:04.200 And by the way, there's also a significant educational differential.
00:24:08.900 All right.
00:24:09.500 So if you're in New York and you had an advanced degree, what percent of the vote do you think Bandhani got?
00:24:15.100 Advanced degree.
00:24:16.180 I would say maybe around 50% or below.
00:24:20.980 57%.
00:24:21.500 Advanced degree, 57%.
00:24:23.840 How about bachelor's degree?
00:24:26.360 Oh, gosh.
00:24:27.080 I'm going to go maybe even lower.
00:24:29.640 57%.
00:24:30.120 So advanced and bachelor's, both tied at 57%.
00:24:32.860 How about associate's degree?
00:24:35.600 I would say higher.
00:24:37.340 48%, 45%.
00:24:40.120 By the way, Cuomo got 48%.
00:24:41.780 So if you had an associate's degree, Bandhani lost.
00:24:44.900 How about some college so you don't have an associate's degree?
00:24:48.820 Bandhani, I would, my gut is it would go even higher.
00:24:52.560 But you're saying I'm wrong.
00:24:54.100 You're wrong.
00:24:54.900 Some college, Bandhani 40%, Cuomo 48%.
00:24:58.380 How about high school graduate?
00:25:00.220 See, I would have thought high school graduate would be 70-plus percent for Bandhani.
00:25:04.800 Nope.
00:25:05.080 You're telling me that's wrong.
00:25:06.200 This is breaking the normal model.
00:25:09.000 Of high school graduates, Bandhani got 39%.
00:25:12.560 Cuomo got 47%.
00:25:14.580 And finally, no high school degree.
00:25:16.260 So didn't even graduate high school.
00:25:18.480 I mean, clearly, based on the trend now, the majority vote against Bandhani that didn't have a high school degree.
00:25:23.460 So no high school degree, 40% voted for Bandhani, 49% for Cuomo.
00:25:29.660 So Cuomo beat Bandhani by nine points.
00:25:32.780 So who elected Comrade Bandhani?
00:25:35.880 It is the smarty-pants, college-educated, advanced degrees.
00:25:40.180 It is the rich who elected Bandhani.
00:25:42.540 By the way, working class, look, if you've got a GED, if you've got a high school degree, they're like, we don't want a socialist.
00:25:48.800 These people are nuts.
00:25:49.920 And it is the rich New Yorkers who, look, I'm not an armchair psychologist, but that is who elected.
00:26:01.200 So this is the elitist.
00:26:01.480 This is the Soros's.
00:26:03.200 It is the Soros's.
00:26:04.800 By the way, the same Comrade Bandhani who said we should have no billionaires also happily tweeted out a picture.
00:26:13.260 Actually, Alex Soros tweeted out a picture.
00:26:16.400 So proud to be a New Yorker.
00:26:18.100 For the American dream continues, congrats, mayor, with a picture of the two of them together.
00:26:23.120 This is the same guy who said no billionaires, well, except for the billionaires that funded the communist takeover of New York City.
00:26:31.880 One of the other things that we're looking at with this exit poll data and what we're witnessing is is that the demographics here made the difference in this election.
00:26:42.380 Dive into a couple more interesting points that you mentioned to me as well.
00:26:45.320 So, look, one of the interesting things is the breakdown by religion.
00:26:49.540 So among Protestants or other Christians, what percent do you think Bandhani got?
00:26:54.300 Among Protestants or Christians, I would say it would be well below 50 percent.
00:26:58.200 43 percent and 48 percent voted for Cuomo.
00:27:01.320 So Protestants or other Christians, Cuomo beat him.
00:27:03.880 How about among Catholics?
00:27:05.240 I would hope lower than 50.
00:27:06.680 It was, and it was actually lower than Protestants.
00:27:09.800 It was 33 percent of Catholics voted for Mandhani.
00:27:12.560 52 percent voted for Cuomo.
00:27:15.360 So Catholics, which is 27 percent of the vote in New York, went by 19 points for Cuomo.
00:27:21.820 How about Jewish voters?
00:27:23.040 This is a fascinating one.
00:27:24.160 So being in Israel all week long, and this was something that was talked about everywhere I went in Israel, they couldn't believe that anybody that's Jewish would vote for a jihadist advocate in Mandhani.
00:27:36.520 And yet the shocking polling data, I'm guessing, is going to show that there were a, quote, significant amount of Jewish people that voted for Mandhani.
00:27:45.140 And it has blown the minds of everybody in Israel this week.
00:27:48.600 32 percent of Jewish voters in New York City voted for an open jihadist who says globalize the infatah.
00:27:57.380 64 percent voted for Cuomo, but 32 percent of Jewish voters voted for Mandhani.
00:28:02.680 How about other?
00:28:03.660 And other, I suspect, is overwhelmingly Muslim, maybe some Hindu, but predominantly Muslim.
00:28:09.160 What percentage?
00:28:10.040 I'm assuming it's got to be very high voting for Mandhani.
00:28:12.820 71 percent, 24 percent voted for Cuomo.
00:28:16.160 Now, of the total New York voters, that's 14 percent of the electorate, but 71 percent of other voted for him.
00:28:21.480 And how about none?
00:28:22.200 So you don't have any religion.
00:28:23.640 I would say also very high then.
00:28:25.540 76 percent for Mandhani, 20 percent for Cuomo.
00:28:28.900 So it was the other, which is going to be predominantly Muslim, and the atheists and agnostics who elected him.
00:28:35.980 Now, family income, this is fascinating.
00:28:38.080 Under $30,000 a year, total family income.
00:28:41.060 What do you think the breakdown was?
00:28:42.140 See, I would have guessed that that would have been a very high number for Mandhani, but based on what you said earlier, I'm actually going to go the opposite direction and say they actually did not vote for this guy.
00:28:51.360 You are right.
00:28:52.080 People making under $30,000 family income, 42 percent voted for Mandhani, 48 percent voted for Cuomo.
00:28:58.360 So Mandhani lost the people under $30,000.
00:29:00.600 Let's just break that down for half a second.
00:29:02.860 Mandhani being, hey, everything's going to be free.
00:29:05.080 The government's going to fix all your problems.
00:29:06.820 The government's going to take care of you.
00:29:08.140 This is communism.
00:29:09.760 The youngest, hardest working in New York weren't buying that BS.
00:29:14.560 They were saying, we don't believe you.
00:29:16.160 And they voted against him because they said, we don't want that form of government.
00:29:19.900 That is a very interesting takeaway here.
00:29:22.080 It is.
00:29:22.780 Now, the next several income bans, $30,000 to $50,000, Mandhani got 53 percent.
00:29:29.600 $50,000 to $100,000, Mandhani got 56 percent.
00:29:32.840 $100,000 to $200,000, Mandhani got 55 percent.
00:29:36.500 $200,000 to $300,000, Mandhani got 49 percent.
00:29:39.640 And so he won every income group between $30,000 and $300,000.
00:29:45.300 And then $300,000 or more, Mandhani got 33 percent and 62 percent voted no.
00:29:51.640 So the people who voted against Mandhani.
00:29:53.840 The people that are really rich are evil, right?
00:29:56.240 That's part of what he said here is that we're going to tax you more.
00:29:59.780 We're going to take more of your money.
00:30:00.960 So if you're making $300,000 or more in New York, and there's a fair amount of people
00:30:04.580 that make more than $300,000 in New York because New York's so expensive to live there.
00:30:07.860 He was basically saying, you are the enemy of me, of my government.
00:30:12.560 I'm coming for your money.
00:30:13.940 I'm coming for your housing.
00:30:15.320 I'm coming for your way of life.
00:30:17.280 He was unapologetic about that.
00:30:19.120 So they heard that warning and said, we're voting against you.
00:30:21.800 Look, the income bands that voted against Mandhani were below $30,000 and above $300,000.
00:30:28.580 So below $30,000, you voted against Mandhani.
00:30:30.780 Above $300,000, you voted against Mandhani.
00:30:32.820 And that entire wave in the biggest income group that voted for Mandhani was $50,000 to
00:30:37.700 $100,000.
00:30:38.720 And that overlaps with the young people.
00:30:40.500 These are young, college-educated.
00:30:42.380 They're disillusioned.
00:30:43.360 They're angry.
00:30:44.040 They're socialists.
00:30:44.860 They've been weaned on socialism.
00:30:46.800 All right, I want to give you one more stat, which is a fascinating one, which is, are you
00:30:51.120 gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender?
00:30:54.460 What percent of New York voters that are gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender do you think
00:30:59.080 voted for Mandhani?
00:31:00.340 Traditionally, I would have said very high.
00:31:02.560 However, knowing what he's been saying, I'm going to go with maybe it's lower than I thought,
00:31:06.700 so 30% to 40%?
00:31:08.640 81%.
00:31:10.240 Wow.
00:31:11.460 And 15% voted for Cuomo.
00:31:13.680 Didn't pay attention to the fact this guy supports people that throw gays, lesbians, and
00:31:19.520 transgenders off rooftops.
00:31:21.120 And that's part of the people he supports.
00:31:23.740 That's truly unbelievable.
00:31:25.400 It is truly unbelievable, given radical Islamists, and they literally want to execute people
00:31:31.880 who are homosexuals.
00:31:33.400 So of the voters in New York, how many do you think are gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender?
00:31:38.260 I honestly have no idea.
00:31:39.400 What is it?
00:31:40.460 14%.
00:31:40.940 So 14% of the voters, the gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender, voted 81-15 for Mandhani.
00:31:48.320 How about voters who are straight, which is 86% of the voters?
00:31:52.460 What do you think the breakdown was for Mandhani for voters who are straight?
00:31:56.060 I'm going to guess it was fairly high as well, based on what you're saying.
00:31:59.160 It was actually basically a tie.
00:32:02.620 46% of heterosexual voters voted for Mandhani and 45% for Cuomo.
00:32:08.640 So understand, who elected Mandhani?
00:32:11.520 Young women and gays, lesbians, and transgenders.
00:32:14.520 That's what the exit polling shows, which is amazing, given that as an Islamist, he believes
00:32:20.640 in very limited rights for women.
00:32:22.680 And he is supportive of views that oppress those who are gay and lesbian.
00:32:28.100 And it's an example of how ideology trumps anyone's self-interest and ignorance.
00:32:34.900 I think ignorance drove a lot of this election.
00:32:37.400 When you break this down and you do the takeaway, I'm going to dive into these numbers more.
00:32:41.800 A lot of people that run races around the country are going to look at these numbers as well.
00:32:45.740 And they're going to say, how much of this will apply outside of New York?
00:32:49.520 I think you could certainly apply this data to places like Chicago or Philadelphia or Boston, right?
00:32:56.100 More of these kind of liberal, elitist-type cities, I say, on the left.
00:33:01.340 But nationwide, I'll be very interested to see the breakdown.
00:33:04.860 And then this comes to the big question, the big takeaway.
00:33:08.160 Why hasn't a member of the media—I haven't seen this, Grant.
00:33:11.200 I've been in Israel all week, but I've been watching this very tightly.
00:33:14.060 Why has no one in the media asked Mandhani the big question, which I want to know is,
00:33:17.580 all right, well, are you running for president right now?
00:33:19.640 Because if this is the Democratic Party, he has to be on your shortlist right now.
00:33:23.800 Am I wrong?
00:33:24.580 Look, I think right now, Mandhani and AOC are the heart of the Democrat Party.
00:33:30.780 And by the way, we saw all of these Democrats that are supposedly mainstream Democrats,
00:33:35.800 although there are no mainstream Democrats left.
