Bill 1, the Alberta Taxpayer Protection Amendment Act 2023. This legislation fulfills a promise

that we made to Albertans to keep taxes low for individuals, families and businesses and to

protect Albertans from increases to personal and corporate income taxes by requiring an approval

through a referendum. Mr. Speaker, Alberta's low-tax environment is attracting newcomers by

the thousands and driving further growth and diversification of our province's economy.

Pro-growth policies like the job creation tax cut has made us one of the most business-friendly

jurisdictions in all of North America and this legislation will further cement our position
