00:00:06.440 Bill 1, the Alberta Taxpayer Protection Amendment Act 2023. This legislation fulfills a promise
00:00:13.140 that we made to Albertans to keep taxes low for individuals, families and businesses and to
00:00:17.840 protect Albertans from increases to personal and corporate income taxes by requiring an approval
00:00:22.940 through a referendum. Mr. Speaker, Alberta's low-tax environment is attracting newcomers by
00:00:28.320 the thousands and driving further growth and diversification of our province's economy.
00:00:33.660 Pro-growth policies like the job creation tax cut has made us one of the most business-friendly
00:00:38.220 jurisdictions in all of North America and this legislation will further cement our position
00:00:43.140 as the best place to live and do business. With that, Mr. Speaker, I hereby move first reading
