00:00:00.040 Canada is in crisis. Housing. Canada could be sitting on the biggest housing bubble of all
00:00:06.060 time. Once it bursts, Canada could be thrown into a deeper recession than any have forecasted.
00:00:12.320 Affordability. This is for anyone thinking of moving to Canada. Our food prices are outrageous.
00:00:17.940 Here we have a pack of drumsticks from Costco. $202 for this pack or $224 for this one.
00:00:26.720 Moral of the story, don't move here. A doctor shortage.
00:00:30.240 Canada is expected to be short 30,000 family doctors by 2028.
00:00:35.700 Do you know that 6 million Canadians don't have a family doctor?
00:00:40.040 Right now, we're seeing that our healthcare systems are strained, if not broken, right across the
00:00:45.520 country in many, many ways. And what has this NDP Liberal government come up with to solve that
00:00:51.500 problem? Today, I'm going to talk about taxes.
00:00:56.440 More taxes. They are now implementing a capital gains tax, which is going to affect 300,000 or more
00:01:06.700 businesses in Canada. Does that make any sense? It is economic vandalism. This all started about two
00:01:15.560 months ago. They made this big announcement that they were going to bring in this new tax. It took
00:01:21.260 them two months to actually show us what they had in mind. Now that we see it, this is a disaster for
00:01:28.700 Canada. It's a disaster for so many areas of our economy that need a hand up right now, not to be
00:01:36.380 further pushed down. The country's doctors, lawyers, and other professionals are furious with the
00:01:41.940 changes, saying that now, when they sell their practices at the end of their working lives,
00:01:46.520 the government will be taking a much bigger chunk of their retirement nest egg.
00:01:50.820 We really cannot introduce new reasons for physicians to scale back their practice,
00:01:56.240 particularly in a community family medicine practice. It's simply the wrong move.
00:02:00.400 When we don't have enough doctors and healthcare is deteriorating across the country, they've brought
00:02:07.460 in a measure, a high tax measure, that will drive doctors south of the border. If you're a hardware
00:02:14.620 store owner or you're a farmer trying to put seed in the ground right now, not in a position to advocate
00:02:22.280 politically, or you're an organization like the CMA who says it'll be devastating, this affects you.
00:02:30.460 And that is what is the case right now in Canada.
00:02:32.540 And you believe only multi-millionaires will be impacted by this? And I ask you that genuinely.
00:02:36.700 I host a radio show during the day. I have been inundated the past two days with people who have
00:02:41.440 called saying, I did not have a public sector job and I have paid taxes along the whole way. And now I'm
00:02:47.320 being told I'm among the ultra wealthy that has to fund the government's income redistribution plan
00:02:52.380 essentially. Like, how is that about fairness? According to our calculations, 0.13% of Canadians
00:03:00.600 will pay more every single year based on these measures. But the other thing, but the other thing.
00:03:06.380 Just a challenge. That's just an annual basis, right? That's not, some people will only pay capital
00:03:11.360 gains once over their entire lifetime. So the number of people who may be impacted could be far greater
00:03:16.680 than what your government has put for it. I know you want to characterize this as we're okay to go
00:03:20.180 after the wealthy and the conservatives are not. But there are a lot of people who do not feel
00:03:24.380 wealthy who feel you are going after them. So who does it benefit? That's a good question.
00:03:29.120 If you're bringing in something with devastating economic effect at a time when Canada is struggling,
00:03:36.480 who does it benefit? Well, it benefits the government that gets a big cash load coming in.
00:03:42.960 And it benefits large corporations. This is a tax that's punitive for the little guy.
00:03:50.660 And why do they need more money in government? Because of their inflationary spending, because
00:03:56.020 of their recklessness and their lack of accountability. Frankly, their incompetence when it comes to
00:04:02.820 governing. So they need money. And who do they look to? The hardworking, middle income, small business
00:04:09.820 owners in this country. We're looking at scandals day after day after day in this government.
00:04:16.300 Millions and millions, hundreds of millions of dollars spent on outside consultants.
00:04:21.500 Arrive scam, green slush fund. I mean, it goes on and on.
00:04:26.300 It's probably some of the worst records keeping I've seen in a long time.
00:04:32.060 Record keeping around the travel app was so bad, the Auditor General says, she still can't be sure
00:04:38.780 how much was spent on it.
00:04:40.380 And don't forget, this is a government that has spent more than any other government in Canada's
00:04:46.940 history combined. They need money. And now they're going to go after you for the money they're looking
00:04:53.900 for. If Trudeau was really proud of this legislation, he wouldn't have brought it in in the backdoor way
00:05:00.060 he's done it. They make an announcement two months ago. We don't see the writing what it really means.
00:05:06.300 And the way they brought it in means that we've had limited debate. You, your elected representatives,
00:05:12.540 have very little time to have looked at this bill, considered it, and then debated it in parliament.
00:05:18.460 And it's already going forward. The legislative end of this is going to happen in the future,
00:05:24.780 but the government will treat June 25th, the date they proclaimed, as the date when everything changes.
00:05:32.940 And then they'll let the legislation catch up later. That is not the way to do public policy,
00:05:38.540 and it's certainly not the way to bring in taxation of hard working people. The only way to stop this
00:05:46.700 is through an election, at the ballot box, and to bring in common sense conservative government
00:05:53.180 that believes in smaller government, more efficient government, and bigger citizens. That believes in
00:05:58.940 lowering your taxes, personal taxes, corporate taxes. And this is a tax that you don't need,
00:06:06.620 and the country doesn't need. Enough is enough. This has to stop. You're the ones who can vote for that.
00:06:15.020 I'm proud to be part of a party that is already committed to bring in a tax reform task force within 60 days
00:06:24.140 of forming government, who will look to those who have the expertise, like entrepreneurs, business people,
00:06:31.580 actually consult with Canadians about what our tax system should look like. We believe in people bringing
00:06:38.780 home more powerful paychecks. And the only way to do that is to reduce taxation, reduce bureaucracy,
00:06:46.700 cut red tape, and make sure that you bring home more of what you earn. There's a war on work in Canada
00:06:53.660 right now, and we will reverse that. And as always, thanks for watching.
