So, we're seeing the consequences of letting the government take over nearly every aspect of our lives for two years now, ostensibly for our own health and good.
00:00:09.500
Meddling, busybody bureaucrats now feel empowered to start legislating and pushing Canadians into what they feel should be better eating habits.
00:00:17.360
Now, just how much do you want government to control our lives?
00:00:20.300
Health Canada, this is the latest one, it's on the Western Standard Story, is proposing that warning labels be forced onto the packaging of all ground beef and pork products.
00:00:28.340
They feel that Canadians don't know what's in a single ingredient package, and they want to push us away from buying it.
00:00:35.160
I want to begin with, ground meat and pork products aren't unhealthy.
00:00:38.660
The issue some people have is in consuming products in moderation.
00:00:41.860
Yeah, they eat too much, and that doesn't matter what it is.
00:00:45.520
Obesity is an issue, and it causes a lot of health-related problems.
00:00:49.200
Trying to push people away from ground beef and pork products won't do a damn thing to aid with that, though.
00:00:52.940
What this labeling could do is push people away from those good, cost-effective sources of protein,
00:01:00.060
and push people into processed foods where ingredients are more nebulous.
00:01:03.440
That sure as hell won't make people any healthier.
00:01:05.960
The other consequences, of course, is that we could be damaging our domestic pork and beef producers,
00:01:09.660
of which Canada, we have a lot of people reliant on those industries, and they're important ones to us.
00:01:13.720
That might not be, then, to these people, though, so much a consequence as an intention.
00:01:19.940
Remember, woke extremists, they're infiltrating every level of government.
00:01:23.540
If you think elected officials are bad, just look at the people who have been populating the bureaucracies,
00:01:29.880
In the world of the woke, they feel we need to force the world into becoming vegans
00:01:35.800
I believe there's a story coming up about some measurements of cow farts, even.
00:01:39.160
Yes, the cow farts are warming the world. We have to stop it.
00:01:41.840
And they've attacked all forms of meat production and feel the ends justify the means
00:01:46.280
in trying to push people away from all meat consumption.
00:01:49.420
Now, we see these kind of nuts in the news all the time as they glue themselves to counters
00:01:53.260
in fast food restaurants or break into farms and try to free the chickens and turkeys.
00:01:58.080
The people in government bureaucracies are no less crazy.
00:02:03.880
If we start labeling ground meat packages with warnings,
00:02:09.260
you can rest assured the zealots in Health Canada won't stop with a simple small warning label.
00:02:14.160
As with other products, they'll want to get more blatant and pushy.
00:02:18.260
Perhaps they'll force packages to display pictures of clogged arteries in people
00:02:23.500
Maybe they'll demand pictures of animals in a slaughterhouse be shown on the labels.
00:02:27.120
I wish I was exaggerating, but we can't underestimate
00:02:29.760
just how far the authoritarians in government want to go
00:02:35.780
Hell, they're even giving presentations to young children in schools
00:02:46.260
They don't want to warn consumers about health risks.
00:02:48.540
They want consumers to stop consuming these products altogether.
00:02:54.200
They've already expressed their intent to force labeling on foods
00:02:59.600
They're on a crusade to make us eat what they tell us,
00:03:03.340
They have no respect for the individual choices of others
00:03:06.180
and feel it's their mandate and role to make those choices on everybody's behalf.
00:03:10.700
This is going to put pressure on manufacturers and distributors as well.
00:03:13.980
Food's a narrow margin industry, and extra labeling requirements cost money.
00:03:18.040
We really don't need food prices rising more than they already have been right now.
00:03:22.820
As with liquor and cigarettes, the health crusaders will pressure for taxes
00:03:26.760
to be added to foods they deem unhealthy for people or the environment as well.
00:03:30.320
Many times they've already been calling for fat taxes to be applied
00:03:36.500
These extremists now have a government authoritarian enough
00:03:44.260
We're losing our rates incrementally, and this is yet another example of it.
00:03:47.780
What people are dismissing as no big deal today
00:03:49.880
will turn into deepening incursions upon our right to choose,
00:03:52.920
and there are few choices more personal than that of what we'll consume.
00:03:58.460
I'm sick of being hectored and scolded by an ideological regime
00:04:02.400
obsessed with controlling my actions under the guise of public health.
00:04:07.020
We need to start reading the writing on the wall
00:04:08.880
and start pushing back at this barrage of controls upon our life and commerce.
00:04:13.560
Canadians need to stand up and say it loud and clear.
