Summary

Summaries generated with gmurro/bart-large-finetuned-filtered-spotify-podcast-summ .

There's no such thing as a zero risk world. Every day, every person on the planet begins doing a risk-benefit analysis for themselves with every action and choice they make during the waking hours, even if we do it unconsciously. We can eliminate the risk of death from each of those actions to nearly zero. Yet, despite this, we're barraged with experts insisting we have to apply masks to children, and infringe on the rights of citizens who choose not to get vaccinated. They just won't quit.

00:00:00.000 There's no such thing as a zero-risk world.
00:00:02.680 I mean, every day, every person on the planet begins doing a risk-benefit analysis for themselves
00:00:07.720 with every action and choice they make during the waking hours, even if we do it unconsciously.
00:00:12.140 I mean, we know that a number of people are killed or injured every year just by slipping in the shower,
00:00:16.720 but we still choose to shower anyways, thankfully.
00:00:19.440 We eat breakfast without fear, even though we know that choking is the fourth leading cause of unintentional injury and death in North America.
00:00:26.460 We drive to work daily despite automobile accidents killing thousands.
00:00:30.000 We take part in sports like skiing and mountain biking, despite being people killed every year doing those things.
00:00:35.280 And we can eliminate the risk of death from each one of those actions to nearly zero.
00:00:39.720 We could all stop showering.
00:00:41.540 We could put all our food into a blender before we eat it.
00:00:43.840 We could participate in only yoga and other risk-free methods of exercise.
00:00:47.380 And we could walk everywhere we go while avoiding roadways.
00:00:50.900 So why haven't we taken action to reduce the death risk down to zero through these activities?
00:00:56.060 We accept there's a degree of avoidable risk, and we're willing to take with everything we do.
00:01:02.080 COVID zero adherence, though, and that's who I want to get on to.
00:01:05.100 That's these people who seem to think we could create this zero-risk world.
00:01:08.720 And, I mean, they're cult-like in their fervor.
00:01:10.780 And they should be dismissed as the extremists they are.
00:01:12.780 But, again, legacy media and politicians continue to take these zealots seriously.
00:01:16.640 We can't pretend the numbers aren't in anymore.
00:01:20.180 COVID-19 clearly doesn't present the threat to the health of society at large, warning further lockdowns and mandates.
00:01:26.960 If you're a healthy person under 70 years of age, COVID-19 is way down the list of things that might kill you in the course of a year.
00:01:33.520 So if you're under 18, you have a better chance of dying from a lightning strike than from COVID-19.
00:01:38.900 Yet, despite this, we're barraged with experts insisting we have to apply masks to children and infringe on the rights of citizens who choose not to get vaccinated.
00:01:45.640 They just won't quit.
00:01:47.800 Now, Justin Trudeau, we probably saw that video clip recently, is already using threatening language as fall approaches.
00:01:53.720 In a recent interview, he implied if we don't get 80% to 90% of the population boosted, we might see a return to restrictions.
00:01:59.940 Yeah, he wants to go back.
00:02:03.700 It says my mic's been muted.
00:02:05.720 So I'll, okay, it's all good.
00:02:08.060 Oh, wait, there's multiple mics.
00:02:09.300 So we're debugging a few things as we're back, and it's good to see you all back.
00:02:13.120 The government now is on the hook for billions in vaccine purchases.
00:02:17.500 So that does explain some of the fervor in trying to compel Canadians to undergo constant vaccinations, but it doesn't justify it.
00:02:24.260 Now, the National Advisory Committee on Immunization in Canada suggesting Canadians are going to have to get boosters every 90 days.
00:02:30.760 I guess we could presume we'd need these boosters for life, as we know the vaccination doesn't prevent transmission.
00:02:36.420 That was an outrageous suggestion, yet we heard very little about it. 0.98
00:02:39.060 The committee should have been condemned and called out for suggesting such an idiotic policy, yet we've heard next to nothing about it. 0.95
00:02:45.020 The world has endured two and a half years of misery, and not so much due to COVID-19, but due to the efforts of governments to control the outbreak. 0.99
00:02:53.920 Our economies are in shambles and our societies are divided.
00:02:56.840 We're finally starting to approach fiscal and social recovery, yet we have people like Trudeau and legacy media outlets trying to convince us that we have to remain in fear, and that our rights might be violated again in a feudal battle against a virus that just isn't that damn dangerous.
00:03:11.040 There are a few statements more vacuous and dangerous than those that begin with, if it saves just one life.
00:03:18.760 The COVID-0 cult won't stop on their own. 0.97
00:03:21.360 They're fanatics.
00:03:21.940 So until and unless Canadians start pushing back harder, we're going to be returning to government-restricted life by the end of the year in this pursuit of an impossible zero-risk goal.
