00:00:00.000 After eight years, Justin Trudeau is not worth the cost.
00:00:03.800 He's not worth the inflation, which hit 40-year highs
00:00:07.120 after he doubled our national debt and printed $600 billion of cash.
00:00:11.720 That's caused interest rates to spike.
00:00:14.160 This all has very serious human consequences,
00:00:16.680 because after eight years of Trudeau,
00:00:18.700 a record-smashing 2 million Canadians are forced to food banks,
00:00:23.820 lined up around the block in ways we have not seen since the Great Depression.
00:00:28.940 If you put those images in black and white,
00:00:31.540 you would assume you were watching historical footage from the Great Depression.
00:00:37.720 People showing up at the Mississauga Food Bank asking for help with medical assistance and dying,
00:00:42.140 not because they're sick, but because after eight years of Trudeau,
00:00:46.100 life is so miserable and impoverished that they would rather die than live in a tent.
00:00:51.300 Speaking of tents, we now have these encampments,
00:00:53.580 homeless encampments in every center in the country.
00:00:56.600 Halifax, the home province of Trudeau's housing minister,
00:01:01.860 has 30 homeless encampments, 30 in one city.
00:01:08.260 This would have been unimaginable before Justin Trudeau
00:01:13.800 and his disastrous inflationary policies.
00:01:18.380 After eight years of Trudeau, work doesn't pay.
00:01:21.580 You make it, he takes it.
00:01:24.080 After eight years of Trudeau promising affordable housing
00:01:29.340 and spending billions of dollars on the bureaucracy to support that,
00:01:34.980 we have a doubling of housing costs.
00:01:37.540 Remember, tomorrow he will come out here and he will make billions of dollars of housing promises,
00:01:43.360 just like he did eight years ago.
00:01:45.460 And what will that do?
00:01:47.520 It will build bureaucracy and it will supply liberal ministers
00:01:50.940 with a steady stream of phony photo ops.
00:01:54.460 Now, how do we know they're phony?
00:01:55.900 Well, Sean Frazier has proven it.
00:01:58.980 Because while we have seen, I'd say, I'm going to estimate,
00:02:02.560 a 400 percent increase in housing photo ops
00:02:06.520 since Sean Frazier became minister,
00:02:09.420 we've seen a 14 percent reduction in real housing investment.
00:02:15.560 This is the money that goes into actually building homes.
00:02:18.860 Two years after their accelerator program was created,
00:02:22.120 with much fanfare and beautiful headlines,
00:02:25.000 it hasn't completed a single solitary house.
00:02:28.340 And now, it takes 25 years for the average Toronto family
00:02:33.220 to save up for a down payment on the average home.
00:02:36.560 You can buy a 20-bedroom castle in Scotland for cheaper
00:02:40.160 than a two-bedroom in Kitchener.
00:02:42.760 After eight years of Trudeau,
00:02:44.140 UBS says that Toronto is the worst housing bubble in the world.
00:02:49.760 Demographia says Vancouver is the third most expensive housing market on planet Earth,
00:02:54.520 comparing median incomes to median house prices.
00:02:58.340 And the IMF says that we have the worst likelihood of a mortgage meltdown
00:03:05.020 of all 40 OECD countries.
00:03:07.700 That is the reality.
00:03:09.460 After eight years of Trudeau promising new multi-billion dollar programs,
00:03:14.900 showing up in hard hats to hold photo ops,
00:03:17.780 but ultimately building nothing but bureaucracy.
00:03:22.880 And where is all the money going?
00:03:25.140 Well, there's $54 million for the Arrive Can app
00:03:27.740 that we didn't need, didn't work,
00:03:29.300 and is now under criminal investigation.
00:03:31.060 There's $1 billion for the Green Fund,
00:03:33.460 which its own bureaucrats were caught on tape saying,
00:03:36.300 reminds them of the sponsorship scandal.
00:03:38.800 The chair actually gave her own company $200,000.
00:03:41.940 And now we learn that the $15 billion grant to the Stellantis plant
00:03:49.420 will fund mostly jobs for non-Canadians, not immigrants.
00:03:55.740 We love jobs for immigrants.
00:03:58.120 Jobs for people who are not Canadian citizens
00:04:00.620 and will not be Canadian citizens.
00:04:02.780 They will come here, get a taxpayer-funded paycheck,
00:04:06.800 and take it back to their country. 0.91
00:04:10.920 I love South Korea.
00:04:12.620 Wonderful country.
00:04:13.880 But they don't fund jobs for Canadians,
00:04:16.040 and we shouldn't fund jobs for their workers.
00:04:18.840 Our money should fund our paychecks.
00:04:22.040 Bring it home.
00:04:24.240 And that's why common-sense conservatives
00:04:25.960 are demanding a full inquiry
00:04:27.740 into how many of these taxpayer-funded jobs
00:04:30.760 are going to temporary foreign workers.
00:04:36.640 We want a commitment that none of the money
00:04:38.680 should go to temporary foreign workers.
00:04:40.020 It should only come to Canadians. 1.00
00:04:41.220 This is a $15 billion grant to one company.
00:04:45.820 $15 billion works out to $1,000
00:04:48.320 for every single Canadian family.
00:04:51.960 You've got 15 million families in Canada.
00:04:55.120 You've got $15 billion for this one company.
00:04:58.360 Every family in Canada will give $1,000 to this plant,
00:05:02.100 and now we know that the majority of the jobs
00:05:04.020 won't even go to Canadians.
00:05:06.440 Justin Trudeau is not worth the cost.
00:05:09.180 Tomorrow, we'll see more of the same.
00:05:11.680 Inflationary spending, housing photo ops and promises,
00:05:15.960 and glitzy deficits.
00:05:17.680 Our common-sense plan turns the country
00:05:21.280 in the opposite direction.
00:05:23.340 And so I have three demands.
00:05:25.260 One, cancel the planned quadrupling of the carbon tax.
00:05:31.060 Yes, Trudeau wants to quadruple the tax.
00:05:33.380 That will drive up heat, gas, and groceries. 0.69
00:05:36.440 Because when you tax the farmer who makes the food
00:05:38.320 and the trucker who ships the food,
00:05:39.580 you tax all who buy the food.
00:05:41.780 We will have a referendum on the carbon tax,
00:05:44.500 the forthcoming carbon tax election,
00:05:47.500 where Canadians will decide on that issue.
00:05:49.800 And we all agree that is the issue
00:05:51.900 on which we will vote in the next election.
00:05:54.860 Justin Trudeau has said so.
00:05:57.020 And so he and I agree
00:05:58.420 that there will be a carbon tax election.
00:06:00.900 In the meantime,
00:06:02.480 I asked Justin Trudeau to show some compassion
00:06:05.460 for families who can't eat, heat, or house themselves.
00:06:08.420 Cancel your plans to quadruple the tax.
00:06:11.220 Put it on hold.
00:06:11.980 And in the election, Canadians will decide.
00:06:15.480 I will win that election.
00:06:17.340 And I will axe the tax.
00:06:19.540 But for God's sake,
00:06:20.980 stop ripping off Canadians in the meantime. 0.88
00:06:24.420 Second, balance the budget
00:06:26.860 to bring home lower inflation and interest rates.
00:06:31.480 We know now that inflation is the result
00:06:33.740 of Trudeau's money printing deficits
00:06:35.360 and the resulting interest rate hikes.
00:06:37.700 Yes, we have $900 billion of mortgages
00:06:42.000 that are going to renew
00:06:43.040 in the next three years alone.
00:06:45.140 That's two-thirds of all mortgages.
00:06:46.960 There will be a massive mortgage crisis
00:06:48.980 if rates do not come down.
00:06:51.140 The only,
00:06:51.680 obviously the Bank of Canada sets the rates,
00:06:53.940 but they've been clear
00:06:54.680 that the deficits are pushing those rates higher.
00:06:58.040 Do the compassionate thing.
00:06:59.260 Let people keep their homes.
00:07:00.800 Balance their budgets.
00:07:02.040 Balance the budget
00:07:02.720 to bring down interest rates and inflation.
00:07:04.760 And three, let's build homes,
00:07:08.820 not photo ops and bureaucracy.
00:07:11.740 We don't need Justin Trudeau
00:07:14.380 and Sean Frazier going on a circus,
00:07:17.140 putting on hard hats,
00:07:18.700 and standing in front of construction sites
00:07:20.820 of projects that would have been built without them.
00:07:23.780 We need a direct formula
00:07:26.320 that incentivizes cities to get out of the way
00:07:28.740 and permit 15% more home building per year
00:07:31.960 or lose federal money.
00:07:33.600 Those that beat the target
00:07:35.120 should get a building bonus.
00:07:36.220 We should require
00:07:36.800 every federally funded transit station
00:07:39.020 be surrounded by housing.
00:07:40.600 We should require CMHC-approved housing projects
00:07:43.720 in 60 days, not in two years,
00:07:45.600 or the executives should be fired.
00:07:47.980 We should remove taxes on home building. 0.90
00:07:50.780 All of these things are common sense.
00:07:53.080 They don't,
00:07:53.560 one flaw with my bill though,
00:07:55.080 I'll be honest with it,
00:07:56.520 it doesn't provide for photo ops.
00:07:58.620 There won't be any photo ops.
00:08:00.540 There'll be lots of houses,
00:08:01.900 but no photo ops.
00:08:02.860 So this is a flaw.
00:08:05.320 I admit it.
00:08:06.120 I'm not perfect,
00:08:07.080 but I think it's worth the trade off.
00:08:09.880 The common sense plan
00:08:10.940 from the conservatives for tomorrow
00:08:12.680 is one,
00:08:14.160 cancel the carbon tax hikes.
00:08:16.180 Two,
00:08:16.760 balance the budget
00:08:17.420 to bring down inflation
00:08:18.380 and interest rates.
00:08:19.620 And three,
00:08:20.560 build homes,
00:08:21.460 not bureaucracy,
00:08:22.500 or photo ops.
00:08:23.480 This is common sense.
00:08:24.940 Now let's bring it home.
00:08:25.740 We'll be right there.
00:08:26.320 I'm 60 percent.
00:08:30.720 We'll be right there.
00:08:35.140 We'll be right there.
