Why do you want to see an exemption created for natural gas?
00:00:05.120
You know, first of all, we heard a number of federal ministers from the Trudeau government
00:00:09.940
saying there will be no carve-outs on any of these policies for certain areas of the country.
00:00:14.340
And then we see them carve out the carbon tax on heating oil for Atlantic Canada.
00:00:20.440
We know that the cost of living is a top-of-mind issue for Canadians.
00:00:23.820
But, I mean, that is wildly disrespectful of Canadians in other areas of the country
00:00:29.900
to be told that, look, if you want exemptions, then you've got to vote Liberal.
00:00:38.380
and we'd love to see that carbon tax be eliminated right across the country.
00:00:42.700
The consumer carbon tax is not reducing emissions.
00:00:46.320
It is just driving up the cost of everyday life for Canadians across our country,
00:00:51.400
from fuel to groceries to utilities, and we'd like to see it gone.
00:00:55.060
And one solution to help produce emissions that various experts have proposed is small-altering nuclear reactors.
00:01:02.480
Where do you stand with small-altering nuclear reactors?
00:01:04.120
Yeah, you know, the Premier has been clear that we're going to look at what other provinces have done on that front
00:01:08.560
to see how we could do that as part of our energy mix here in Alberta.
00:01:12.400
So it's still early stages, but the Minister of Energy has also reached out to New Brunswick, to Ontario,
00:01:19.900
also Saskatchewan, to see how we might be able to do that here.
