00:00:00.000 I mean, I remember seeing one video where they were up at a car dealership and there's this these two old guys that were the like, I guess they're the security for the car dealership.
00:00:08.060 And they told them, hey, go open up the back.
00:00:10.200 We want to search the back or something along those lines.
00:00:12.360 And as these old guys left the building and went walking across the line, one dude just comes by, looks at him and just shoots him.
00:00:19.420 No, no reasoning.
00:00:20.280 He's just a soldier who's just walking by and just decided to shoot these two guys and just went out, checked their pockets and walked away.
00:00:25.640 and it's like that's that's not what being a professional soldier is you're supposed to
00:00:30.340 protect the civilians the whole point of being a soldier is to protect the people that can't
00:00:34.800 protect themselves that's why that's why we do stuff like this and if you're preying on those
00:00:39.420 individuals even if they're from another country you're not a soldier you're not a real real person
00:00:43.640 like that's why now we just refer to them as peters we call them orcs because that's how they
00:00:48.100 act they act like savages act like monsters act like demons and they they they're not real soldiers
00:00:53.200 We came here, foreigners come here to protect the people that can't defend themselves.
00:00:57.820 You know, you defend those that are defenseless.
00:00:59.860 You don't attack them.
00:01:23.200 I just got back from a press tour of Ukraine with people from other media organizations from Canada.
00:01:34.200 And, you know, I got to see a lot of interesting things.
00:01:37.700 They didn't get us very close to any active war zones.
00:01:41.180 I was around for a few air raid sirens, for missiles very distant from where I was in Kiev.
00:01:49.360 but I did get to meet some men who do spend a lot of time on the front lines fighting in the war
00:01:59.000 between Ukraine and Russia not just Ukrainian fighters though but foreign fighters two very
00:02:07.580 interesting gentlemen I had the pleasure of meeting while I was in Kiev was a Canadian
00:02:14.340 fighter by the name of Wayne Hallett, uh, although goes by, uh, his comrades call him, uh, Dirty Pete,
00:02:22.140 uh, and, uh, and his, uh, his comrade, uh, Kieran Von Breen, uh, his friends call him Monkey,
00:02:29.640 and he's from, uh, Birmingham, England. Uh, the two of them are joining me right now from, uh,
00:02:35.680 I'm not going to say where they are, but somewhere in Ukraine, uh, joining me now.
00:02:40.420 gentlemen it's really good to see you again uh about uh actually yeah about a week uh after we
00:02:46.580 met in ukraine thanks for joining me yeah not a problem great to be here there um i i've uh i don't
00:02:54.840 think i told uh too many stories out of school but uh some things i think i was free to share i uh
00:02:59.700 you know i've been telling some interesting uh war stories that uh the two of you have uh shared
00:03:04.500 with me with your experience uh as fighters in ukraine in this war um what do i just maybe just
00:03:13.100 a little bit about you guys first uh i know uh wayne uh i know wayne how did you get called
00:03:19.880 dirty pete well it's actually dirty p so not pete the p is in patricia and uh oh dirty p
00:03:27.260 yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah and that got broken down to from dirty patricia to dirty p and then
00:03:37.500 now everybody just calls me p okay well that makes sense uh yeah so uh dirty p uh wayne is a veteran
00:03:46.620 of the canadian armed forces for nearly 15 years um he's served as a forward fighter in ukraine
00:03:54.120 since uh early 2023 does close protection operations now that is uh essentially uh
00:04:01.680 security i think i think in layman's terms security for high value vips in ukraine i think
00:04:07.800 i got all that right yeah uh and uh monkey i know you're uh i don't think you didn't serve
00:04:14.520 in the uk forces before but you uh you went to ukraine and i did you you did your training as
00:04:20.480 soldier in ukraine there i did my training before in the british army and both in ukraine too yeah
00:04:26.400 okay okay um and how long uh have you been in ukraine uh i first came here october 2022
00:04:34.000 so this is my fourth year here okay wow wow and uh are you uh what is it you're doing now are you
00:04:42.640 in close protection or are you still uh in the army no i'm still serving the regular army here
00:04:48.640 Yeah. Okay. And you're serving in a unit that's made up of foreign volunteers, right?
00:04:55.480 Correct.
00:04:57.140 All right. Well, maybe I'll start with Dirty Pete first, but I'll have the same question for you, Monkey.
00:05:06.220 Pete, why did you decide to up and leave to fight in Ukraine? That's not something a normal person does.
00:05:15.240 wow so with me i mean obviously i follow a lot of military media and uh this this conflict has a lot
00:05:24.940 of videos coming out with gopros with drones uh cell phone footage is probably uh the main thing
00:05:32.720 right at the beginning and uh i started seeing a lot of the videos coming out about the about the
00:05:39.540 what russia is what the russian soldiers are doing and as a soldier like soldiers we have a
00:05:43.760 like a professionalism amongst us that you're supposed to go after soldiers you go after
00:05:47.860 combatants you don't go intentionally targeting target civilians like civilian casualties do
00:05:53.900 happen but it's as a professional soldier it's not our intent to go after civilians to go and
00:06:00.840 target civilians if you're doing that you're you know you're trash you're you're part of the people
00:06:05.620 that need to be need to be put down because you're you're not doing anything to actually uh
00:06:11.440 you want to have a positive representation if you're if you're slaughtering civilians
00:06:15.960 how can you turn around and even think you're the good guys in any kind of conflict
00:06:20.240 so i started seeing a lot of those videos and it wasn't like it was one-off it was
00:06:25.140 it was constant especially coming out of bucha and out of urban where you'd see soldiers going
00:06:29.900 up and just rounding up civilians and they would take them into like the basement of a church
00:06:34.400 lock the doors and then set the church on fire or they would take them out to the woods have them
00:06:39.000 dig like a big pit and then they would just line them up and hose them toss their bodies in the pit
00:06:43.120 and this was like it was just a constant reoccurring thing uh i mean i remember seeing
00:06:47.020 one video where they were up at a car dealership and there's this uh these two old guys that were
00:06:51.660 the uh like i guess they're the security for the car dealership and they told them hey go open up
00:06:56.140 the back we want to search the back or something along those lines and as these old guys left the
00:07:00.180 building and went walking across the line one dude just comes by looks at him and just shoots him
00:07:04.960 no no reasoning he's just a soldier was just walking by and just decided to shoot these two
00:07:09.380 guys and just went out check their pockets and walked away and it's like that's that's not what
00:07:14.960 being a professional soldier is you're supposed to protect the civilians the whole point of being a
00:07:18.500 soldier is to protect the people that can't protect themselves that's why that's why we do stuff like
00:07:23.940 this and if you're preying on those individuals even if they're from another country you're not
00:07:28.400 a soldier you're not a real real person like that's why now we just refer to them as peters
00:07:32.500 we call them orcs because that's how they act they act like savages act like monsters act like
00:07:36.680 demons and they they they're not real soldiers we came here foreigners come here to protect the
00:07:42.100 people that can't defend themselves you know you defend those that are defenseless you don't attack
00:07:46.900 them even if we were pushing into russian lands we wouldn't be and even when you ukraine did that
00:07:52.020 when they did when they pushed into kursk they weren't going after the civilians they were
00:07:56.200 bringing first aid they're bringing medical supplies they're bringing uh food they're trying
00:08:00.060 to help them out they're even offering if you needed to go to a hospital in ukraine we could
00:08:04.000 send you and people like that's that's the difference between the ukraine military and with
00:08:09.120 with more of a realistic view on how to be a soldier and how to be a country and how to help
00:08:14.640 people as opposed to russia where they're claiming you know they're liberating ukraine from from you
00:08:20.600 know western influence and it's like okay well your liberation involves slaughter rape and murder
00:08:25.480 and destruction of entire towns and cities like how can you how can you sit there and say you're
00:08:31.000 liberating ukrainians when they're openly flying uh quant coppers fpvs inside of ukrainian cities
00:08:37.240 and targeting uh civilians and not only are they doing this regularly they call it a human safari
00:08:43.080 they're even crowded it to the point where they're posting the videos online themselves
00:08:47.320 to brag that this is what they're doing it's like they're advertising hey we'll keep doing this
00:08:51.380 you know who knows maybe it's going to come out like when uh when the russians were in bosnia
00:08:55.820 and they had people paying them to go to bosnia to kill civilians i'm willing to bet you give us
00:09:02.060 a few years you're going to hear about that happening here where you're going to see you're
00:09:04.760 going to hear about russian civilians paying the military to send them videos about them killing
00:09:08.840 civilians or they even got bring they get bring brought close to the front line to go kill
00:09:12.280 civilians themselves and it's like this is like some savage culture and it's like it's it's
00:09:16.860 it's yeah yeah seeing a lot i just couldn't uh i couldn't keep myself where i was where i was
00:09:24.100 just sitting there knowing that this is happening somewhere and i could do something with it and
00:09:28.640 when i know how war is when it comes down to to a large scale war like this people are going to
00:09:35.200 get picked up and they're going to be doing one job so like you know say uh you know a bartender
00:09:41.300 he gets picked up and he's got to go fight he's going to get 30 to 50 days of training
00:09:45.520 and then he's going to go into combat well i have 14 and a half years of experience that i can rely
00:09:51.180 on and even though this war is completely different than previous war it still gives
00:09:56.160 me a lot of experience to fall back on and a lot of different options and it might my how i look
00:10:01.020 at situations that my brain has developed differently than someone who is doing something
00:10:04.660 completely different and unrelated so it gives me a higher chance of survival i mean and you look at
00:10:09.740 a lot of foreigners where we've been here for years and we keep doing mission after mission
00:10:13.360 after mission and it's because we have that past experience because how we see and how we experience
00:10:19.560 these situations is different we have a lot of we have a lot of events and a lot of experience
00:10:23.480 that we can fall back on that will let us get ourselves into situations to get ourselves out
00:10:29.240 of situations so monkey it's um or kieran it's uh you know i understand what uh what wayne said
00:10:38.500 but bad things happen across the world all the time uh there's never been a period uh you know
00:10:46.720 even even in the 90s the most tranquil period without major wars in human history uh or
00:10:52.340 modern human history uh there's always some conflict going on somewhere where civilians
00:10:58.200 are uh you know where the rules of war are not being respected and bad things are happening
00:11:05.900 but generally you don't see a significant number of foreign volunteers jump in and go
00:11:11.440 what compelled you to leave your home in Birmingham to go and fight in Ukraine so it's
00:11:20.780 pretty much the same as P here I was back in England at home working a civilian job I was
00:11:26.880 watching television and the whole butcher situation and it was told how the Russians
00:11:32.720 and raped a woman well multiple women and then uh stuck them on a stack of like tires and burnt
00:11:38.620 them alive there was no amendment to defend them because the men will wound up in the basement or
00:11:42.900 killed um i grew up in a family of just all women and no father just all women uh so naturally i
00:11:50.020 understand that this is it's evil and this is something that we should be fighting about
00:11:54.400 uh also i'm european i'm english i love my continent and i think it's important for people
00:12:02.520 to do as much as they can to defend their homeland against this invasion because this is what it is
00:12:08.380 it's an invasion so i want to just elaborate on that last bit a little bit is it you see yourself
00:12:16.240 as kind of a pan-european or pan-western nationalist uh for lack of a better term i would
00:12:23.000 I would say so, yeah. I'm a European nationalist. I'm proud of my continent. I'm proud of my country. I'm a proud Englishman. And I think that's a good thing.
00:12:31.180 So, one reason I was brought to Ukraine and was interested in going to Ukraine is that somehow the conflict has become left-coded.
00:12:46.740 That, you know, Russia and Putin have over time been painted as right wing and defenders of Christianity, perhaps Orthodox Eastern Christianity, but Christendom and traditional values.
00:13:07.160 And Ukraine wants to be kind of a European Union, softy, liberal, and I don't mean liberal in the old classical sense, I mean liberal in the more modern derogatory sense, at least as I would use it, country.
00:13:27.840 And it became painted as, you know, you'd see someone fly the Ukraine flag besides the transgenderism flag.
00:13:40.960 And, you know, and it would become, it would become, you know, if you support Ukraine, means you're supporting Western liberalism, but in the sense that I would find it to be a negative thing.
00:13:55.740 and you know and if you're really
00:13:58.140 right wing and you're really based
00:14:00.000 you support Russia
00:14:01.960 you know people
00:14:04.240 watching or listening to this
00:14:05.500 they don't know you guys but I'll
00:14:08.100 vouch you guys
00:14:10.020 are not
00:14:10.560 you know
00:14:13.320 Wayne's not voting for Justin Trudeau
00:14:16.100 yeah it's not for Justin Trudeau
00:14:17.620 yeah and Monkey's not voting for Keir Starmer
00:14:20.300 absolutely not
00:14:21.680 absolutely not
00:14:22.560 yeah yeah uh so i i could vouch for our viewers who don't know anything about you
00:14:27.460 you're not you're not those kinds of guys um no and generally generally soldiers are not
00:14:32.860 left-wing by any means uh maybe nowadays in the canadian army where the canadian armies just become
00:14:38.660 incredibly soft and disappointing uh again they pushed a lot of these west of these a lot of these
00:14:44.120 like leftist values where it just it just completely diluted any kind of mentality of
00:14:49.680 Strength and superiority.
00:14:51.260 Not superiority, but strength and being a natural soldier.
00:14:57.420 I want to go to the cause here, but I'll say,
00:15:01.160 Ukrainians are not putting tampons in the men's room.
00:15:06.460 I'll put it that way.
00:15:08.140 They're a very nationalistic people.
00:15:11.460 They are very proud of themselves as an ethnos, as a nation, as a people.
00:15:16.980 they're not
00:15:19.320 a post-nation state as Canada
00:15:21.860 aspires
00:15:24.060 to be or has become
00:15:25.480 depending on how you view it
00:15:26.600 why is it that you think
00:15:28.840 that the conflict
00:15:31.220 and either of you can pick this up first
00:15:33.080 why in your view has the conflict
00:15:35.600 become
00:15:36.120 the pro-Ukrainian side at least of the conflict
00:15:39.260 become kind of left coated that it is a
00:15:41.620 liberal cause
00:15:43.080 to support
00:15:44.180 and Russia is the more right-wing cause to support
00:15:48.780 in your guise as you see it.
00:15:50.740 I think the whole thing of why the left adopted this conflict
00:15:57.240 is just based on timing.
00:16:00.740 And it comes down to, I mean, look at the political party
00:16:04.420 that's pretty much running the EU when this all stepped off.
00:16:07.840 It was the left.
00:16:08.900 And you look at the political party that was running the US
00:16:12.820 I mean, Canada, we've been getting completely destroyed by the left for like 15 years now.
00:16:19.880 But it was the Democrats that ran in the U.S.
00:16:23.060 So the political party that was pretty much in the Western world that was running everything was the left.
00:16:28.480 And you can't let Russia take over the largest nation, I mean, second largest nation in Europe.
00:16:33.820 That's a huge land grab.
00:16:35.440 And something needed to be done about that.
00:16:37.280 so then they they adopted it they're like yeah we're gonna this is a leftist issue and because
00:16:43.740 of how politics and how people are now where it's like okay if the left adopts something i mean they
00:16:49.060 could be like the sky is purple and every democratic and every liberal and every left-wing
00:16:53.920 person's gonna be up sky is purple even though you can look at the sky and see it's blue and the
00:16:57.500 right is gonna be like yeah sky is blue and then it's gonna be a constant clash and cognitive
00:17:01.760 dissonance doesn't matter how much you show someone that this is doesn't make sense and it's
00:17:06.260 like rationally it just it's just not doesn't like it doesn't line up it doesn't make sense
00:17:10.360 the political views and everything that we're doing here in ukraine everything ukraine's fighting for
00:17:14.200 is a right is a rightest view i mean even here you talk to soldiers here we're all right wing
00:17:19.840 you might come across someone every now and then that's like yeah i'm a left wing and it's like
00:17:23.560 okay you're a bag of shit and there's probably a reason why nobody wants you around because
00:17:27.300 the left does not make good soldiers like how can you be every soldier should be nationalistic
00:17:33.780 Every soldier should be right wing.
00:17:35.400 Every soldier should be willing to make a sacrifice and caring about the men around them.
00:17:38.720 You're not thinking about yourself.
00:17:40.040 You're not thinking about, hey, guns are bad.
00:17:42.220 Hey, I want to destroy my own country.
00:17:44.220 Borders are bad.
00:17:45.240 No, Ukraine's literally trying to fight to secure their borders.
00:17:47.700 They're trying to fight for their own people's freedom.
00:17:49.200 They're trying to fight for their country to exist as a country.
00:17:52.840 They're trying to fight for their own culture, to maintain their culture.
00:17:55.660 They don't want it to be watered down.
00:17:56.860 They don't want to be washed away.
00:17:58.380 They don't want to have Ukraine be an unknown country where it's just a bunch of random nonsense.
00:18:02.760 like you know look at look at canada canada is being watered down like you even try and say
00:18:08.000 you're pro-canadian that's like hate speech it's ridiculous well ukraine is proud to be ukraine
00:18:13.000 ukraine has a huge has a long uh history they have it they have a lot of culture here they have
00:18:17.880 like there's there's churches here that are older than than the canadian than canada as a country
00:18:22.100 it's insane and it's they're fighting for their own people they're fighting to exist and they want
00:18:28.060 to maintain that they want to be able to defend themselves they want to maintain their border
00:18:30.800 they want to maintain their land they want to maintain being a proud people they don't want to
00:18:35.920 be forced to to you know wash all that away just that way some you know purple haired lady comes
00:18:43.340 in and can scream at them like it's it's insanity and everything that everything that like a right
00:18:49.000 a right-wing person stands for everything that all my friends back home all we stood for everything
00:18:53.740 we fought for everything we wanted to hold up in canada back when i was in the canadian army
00:18:58.040 is what we're doing here and i can guarantee you everybody i know with when i was in the
00:19:03.480 canadian army we're all right when those values are not different we're still doing it here
00:19:07.700 like just now that the liberals are like we're taking it and it's like you see like the the
00:19:13.400 ideology that we have here that we're that we're fighting for here and the ideology that they're
00:19:18.080 trying to enforce back home is literally night and day and it's mind-boggling that just because
00:19:24.000 someone that was in power was like oh we're gonna help and now everybody on the opposite
00:19:28.900 side of the political spectrum is like no now we have to hate it and it's like
00:19:31.900 well that makes no sense you know uh kieran um
00:19:37.960 you know people put this in a in a european context you know kirk starmer and uh what's
00:19:46.380 not to succeed at him here you know he was outspoken yeah for the ukrainian cause in uh
00:19:53.840 but you've got you know reform uk is more skeptical about britain's involvement uh in
00:20:00.280 germany you have you have olaf schultz of the spd and then replaced by friedrich meritz of the cdu
00:20:08.040 you know so both of them you could put on the left or center left they've been outspoken in
00:20:13.220 favor of it but the afd on the right is more skeptical towards european and german involvement
00:20:19.320 same with france uh you've got um what's his nuts uh the president in favor but yeah but marie
00:20:29.300 le pen uh of national front again more skeptical i think it's been unfair to paint marie le pen
00:20:36.560 Nigel Farage or Alice Vidal as pro-Russian, I think that's been an unfair characterization,
00:20:44.560 but at the very least, they're more hesitant towards involvement or even hostile towards
00:20:49.960 involvement and backing Ukraine. So there is a correlation across the continent of, you know,
00:20:58.580 So the left and the center left and center right being supportive of the cause, but more nationalistic parties in Europe, UK, France, Germany, right across the continent, have been significantly more skeptical towards backing it.
00:21:20.500 So that would seem to probably put you at odds, probably with the general orientation of others on the right in England. Am I right?
00:21:28.580 Yeah, no, I understand completely.
00:21:31.680 So I don't, do you want to just elaborate on why you feel that is
00:21:35.900 and why you feel that, you know, say Reform UK...
00:21:38.800 I think it's very similar to what he was saying.
00:21:40.860 I think it's because the left has now been known to kind of hijack
00:21:44.200 this fight for freedom, this Ukrainian cause,
00:21:47.700 where in a sense that the guys that are fighting this war
00:21:50.260 don't believe in the values that the lefties do,
00:21:53.760 the patriotic, the right-wing guys.
00:21:55.800 so it's as a right-wing guy myself it's it's somewhat hard to see that you know like a reform
00:22:01.160 for instance a restore don't support ukraine as much as i wish they would or as as much as like
00:22:06.940 labor or maybe even the green party would but again i just think it's it's that lefty propaganda
00:22:12.480 i think they've just hijacked it in the sense that hey look at us we're doing this amazing
00:22:16.980 thing by supporting these guys when in reality i'm not really seeing that here you know and it's
00:22:24.040 also kind of uh interesting that the left doesn't want to have borders they want to have like
00:22:28.360 yeah one unified government that tells everybody what to do they don't even want to have elections
00:22:33.060 they just want to have control i mean look at what they did in canada where they the liberals
00:22:37.840 keep they just keep uh bribing and hijacking other politicians join their parties and they
00:22:42.940 can have a majority well that's not what the elections were for people didn't want the liberals
00:22:46.720 to be in charge they vote for a conservative now the conservatives switched over well you just
00:22:51.600 betrayed your constituents like you did the exact opposite of what your people the people that
00:22:56.240 trusted you to stand up for their beliefs but you're doing it so the left is literally trying
00:23:00.820 to they're trying to amalgamate all the power they're trying to take all the power and control
00:23:04.540 everything politically while the Russians are just trying to do it with military force they're going
00:23:09.860 in other countries and taking land because they're like well we want to control that now so we're
00:23:13.620 just going to take it it's the same mentality just two different ways of doing it while the right is
00:23:17.800 like no we want to do what our people we want to look out for people we want to maintain our
00:23:21.780 borders we want to maintain our identity we want to maintain our culture the russians are like we're
00:23:26.480 just going to take it i mean the left that's what the left is doing i mean the left runs the eu
00:23:30.680 they're driving that into the into the ground they're wiping away all the all the every individual
00:23:35.980 country's uh identities by by importing people that don't care for their country that won't fight
00:23:41.620 for their country if russia decides to push into the eu the only people that are going to stand up
00:23:46.160 are the people that are right-wing, that nationalists,
00:23:48.200 people that care about their country are going to be people that fight for it.
00:23:50.780 The people that want to destroy their country
00:23:52.140 aren't going to sign up to defend it.
00:23:53.760 And then the people that are brought in that don't care about the country
00:23:56.400 because they just want the benefits of being in the country
00:23:58.260 aren't going to fight for it.
00:24:00.340 And it's like, it's mind-boggling.
00:24:03.560 So the, one of the arguments advanced for the,
00:24:08.160 if not pro-Russian, sometimes pro-Russian,
00:24:11.940 But at the very least, anti-Western intervention argument used by folks on the right is that, well, Russia's kind of based.
00:24:23.160 It's, you know, it's trying to return to its Orthodox Christian roots after, you know, a long period of Soviet atheism imposed on it.
00:24:35.180 It's, you know, it's more traditionalist.
00:24:39.760 It rejects degenerate liberalism that is infecting the West.
00:24:46.340 You know, it's charting this alternative course.
00:24:49.420 And then on the other side that, you know, they're arguing not anti-Ukrainian per se,
00:24:56.380 but that the West is using Ukraine as a puppet,
00:25:01.600 that it's sending its men into the meat grinder of the Russian army.
00:25:07.860 and they're just being killed in huge numbers.
00:25:12.000 It's depopulating Ukraine of its very best stock of men
00:25:16.020 and it's just being used as a Western puppet here.
00:25:21.320 And Ukraine's just being used as a playground.
00:25:24.820 How would you guys respond to that critique
00:25:27.400 coming from some on the right in the United States
00:25:31.680 and continental Europe?
00:25:34.440 I don't think that's highly correct.
00:25:36.040 i don't think ukraine is pushing their guys into me grinder i feel like ukraine understands that
00:25:41.440 this is a very dire situation and a very excuse my language shitty war where men must go and fight
00:25:49.780 and i couldn't agree more men must go and defend their homeland men must go and defend their
00:25:54.080 families you know someone derrick someone walked into your house and told you hey derrick this is
00:25:58.720 my house your wife is now my wife uh everything you own is yours i know for a damn well fact that
00:26:05.160 you'd stand up and fight that man so this this whole rhetoric this i'm not sure i'm not sure we
00:26:09.740 would in the west we're doing it every day yeah i'm not sure we would stand and fight but i take
00:26:16.240 your point yeah no i definitely definitely and it's unfortunate but no i think that's just a lot
00:26:21.780 of russian propaganda and a lot of propaganda that people don't that don't really understand
00:26:25.920 the situation here people that have never been to ukraine people that watch a few videos online
00:26:30.380 and decide that oh they know everything about it where you know it's russia that's throwing their
00:26:35.980 guys into a megrinder i'd see this i've seen this for nearly four years now um and all i've seen is
00:26:41.720 ukrainians uh you know they have a mobilization here they had a conscription here but that's
00:26:46.920 because ukraine is this very very small country in comparison to russia and the men have to fight
00:26:52.880 it's also ukraine's out of war yeah it's like yeah you're gonna have it's it's it's a draft
00:26:57.920 you know you get called up to go fight you got to go fight you know they're at war they need
00:27:02.440 the manpower i mean how can people sit there and be like hey we don't like draft dodgers
00:27:07.160 but then they're also against people being conscripted like that's you can't have it
00:27:12.700 both ways you know you have a war you need manpower i mean if if you dudes have if dudes
00:27:19.240 are smart and if they're brave enough they volunteer because then you have more options
00:27:22.260 you know you also go into it with a better mentality if you got to wait until someone
00:27:27.580 sends you a piece of paper and calls you up and then you want to dodge that uh dodge that calling
00:27:32.400 and then you get caught on the street i mean that's that's all you know i i guess um
00:27:39.260 you know i i i have you know i've got very strong views on say the iran war
00:27:46.000 um and they perhaps spill over informing my views on the ukraine war and i and i haven't
00:27:51.520 i'm not sure yet if it's correct for it to do that but you know uh at least uh you know wayne
00:27:56.920 we're similar age we you know we came of age with wars where we were lied to um you know i grew up
00:28:03.960 in military towns and uh my family wasn't military but i remember you know 9-11 bunch of my buddies
00:28:09.300 dads went off to fight in afghanistan and then we were lied to about iraq with weapons of mass
00:28:14.780 destruction uh western interventions in syria and libya have all had very catastrophic effects for
00:28:22.080 both the people on the ground and western security i don't think it's actually made the
00:28:25.980 world safer for us um and then that we've had two wars in iran that uh i know some of our my viewers
00:28:33.520 will not share my views on it but i think they've been catastrophically terrible i think we've been
00:28:38.260 lied to uh to get into those wars and so i i'm naturally very hesitant about western foreign
00:28:46.960 interventions uh now this one is not yet another middle east war so it's it's a bit different and
00:28:53.100 It's obviously at the near abroad of Europe.
00:28:57.320 So, you know, if I'm to be supportive of Western intervention, even if it's semi-indirect, the way it is with Iran,
00:29:06.200 there's no uniformed Canadian troops on the ground, uniformed American troops on the ground.
00:29:11.280 There's obviously very heavy Western presence, both in expertise, advisors, and munitions.
00:29:18.600 um you know if i'm to be convinced that this is something we should be backing i have to see a
00:29:24.840 national security imperative um so you know when you're from canada like me uh even further away
00:29:34.640 uh it's obviously a bit more close to home for kieran from england but uh maybe both of you uh
00:29:42.260 briefly, if you want to explain why you believe it is necessary for the West to be intervening
00:29:50.220 the way it is, providing expertise and advisors, providing significant munitions to keep Ukraine
00:29:58.300 in the fight. Why is it in the West's and Europe's interest to be backing Ukraine in this war,
00:30:06.100 rather than just writing it off kind of as, yeah, it's unfortunate,
00:30:11.640 but this is a part of Russia's traditional sphere of influence,
00:30:14.800 and we've just got to kind of accept that.
00:30:19.040 So maybe briefly speak to that.
00:30:21.740 Yeah, I've got a couple of points on that.
00:30:23.740 The first being, one, you always want to fight your enemy on someone else's ground.
00:30:28.600 You know, like if the U.S. were to fight Russia,
00:30:31.440 it would probably be on Canadian's thought,
00:30:33.100 because we're the ground that's between the U.S. and Russia.
00:30:36.920 If you're going to fight Russia, you want to do it on some of this ground
00:30:39.320 because then it doesn't affect your people, right?
00:30:42.800 You maintain your own country's economy, maintain your own country's, you know,
00:30:47.300 infrastructure, your own people, your own morale.
00:30:50.740 You also want to take care of them the farthest distance possible, right?
00:30:54.560 So Ukraine, unfortunately, just happens to be the target that Russia's going after.
00:30:58.840 I mean, if Russia went after any other country, I imagine the response would be somewhat similar.
00:31:05.140 The benefit about being in Ukraine is that Ukraine is geographically large enough where it can last this long with still maintaining losing ground.
00:31:13.920 It can still survive.
00:31:15.280 Other countries that are fractionally the size of Ukraine probably wouldn't have been able to hold off as long as Ukraine has.
00:31:23.740 But this is also how war is nowadays.
00:31:25.800 It's like us coming here and fighting for what we believe in,
00:31:30.020 which I think morally and ethically is what we believe to be the right thing to do.
00:31:35.100 We also get to learn what war is now going to be, you know,
00:31:38.860 with other militaries not learning from this or not taking this war seriously
00:31:43.600 and not incorporating how war is.
00:31:46.920 It's not going to go back to, like, drones aren't going to disappear.
00:31:49.540 uh in asia right now there's uh drones being used in asia uh in africa drones are now being used in
00:31:56.940 africa western countries are starting to try and train with drones but they're still having a hard
00:32:01.400 time grasping how to use them tactically uh even to bring things closer to to uh to monkey
00:32:08.100 germany and the uh in the airport they found those fpbs are being used on uh on those uh
00:32:15.800 antoff aircraft and it's like well now you're seeing where these fpbs can be used even as
00:32:21.840 terrorist uh like terror factions inside europe and it's like this is this is something that's
00:32:26.900 here to stay people need to understand how to use them they need to understand like guys like us
00:32:31.660 we've been here we survived this long because we understand and we respect them sure guys might
00:32:36.320 guys like us might be like we hate drones i mean i like drones oh yeah okay but it's like you have
00:32:43.740 You have to learn from this and you have to
00:32:45.480 understand it and honestly
00:32:47.800 the opportunity to
00:32:49.880 take down Russia and destroy
00:32:50.980 the Russian military so that way
00:32:53.180 you know like Russia can't keep doing
00:32:55.840 this to other countries because
00:32:57.640 they're doing this to Ukraine but before Ukraine
00:33:00.020 there's Georgia, there's Armenia.
00:33:01.920 There's always been a pattern and I think
00:33:03.820 it's imperative for like Western intervention
00:33:05.860 because I honestly don't believe
00:33:08.040 that Russia will stop that Ukraine.
00:33:10.560 No. They said they just went
00:33:11.860 to the Donbass. Well, they took
00:33:13.920 most of that now, but they're still pushing other parts
00:33:16.060 of the country. They're still pushing into
00:33:17.780 Harkiv, they're still pushing to Zaporizhia.
00:33:20.640 You know, if they take Ukraine as a
00:33:21.940 whole, it won't just stop
00:33:23.980 there. I think it will be the Baltic states
00:33:25.920 next.
00:33:27.120 You know, that's what they're saying, is that they'll go after
00:33:29.260 there's been videos posted
00:33:31.180 from people
00:33:32.400 in
00:33:32.860 Estonia, and they're
00:33:37.760 posting videos from the riverbed, and they can see
00:33:39.800 on the Russian side where they're
00:33:41.800 already starting to you know push gravel and reinforce the edge of the river so we can put
00:33:46.820 a bridge a quick uh a quick uh river crossing and it's like well why would you why would you
00:33:52.280 prepare those if you don't intend to use them roof has been the enemy of my state from england
00:33:58.160 we've had numerous assassinations sabotage plots uh big security threats in my country
00:34:03.100 um and a bit of a piece of the same thing it's like i don't want to wait for them to be in my
00:34:09.820 home i don't want to wait them to be in my country i want to fight them at the edge of europe at the
00:34:15.000 edge of my continent um but obviously right now it's uh it's a bit push and shove you know there's
00:34:21.340 there's highs and lows definitely and i feel that with western intervention this could maybe
00:34:27.240 nick this um threat in the bud so i get to the point where hopefully where we can start pushing
00:34:33.060 russians back on their soil and then we start fighting russians and russian soil that's a lot
00:34:37.760 better than fighting russians than when they're in german soil they're fighting russians when
00:34:41.460 they're in french soil it's like at what point do people wake up and be like oh okay maybe now
00:34:46.680 we'll start to wake up and it's like no man like world's already going to shit you know russia's
00:34:52.980 got the support from iran they get china they got uh they got north korea ukraine ukraine's not
00:34:58.880 getting manpower like you don't see other other militaries like actually sending in troops you
00:35:03.020 don't see sure we get munitions and and uh but we have a lot of we have a lot of issues where
00:35:08.460 it's like it's not enough you know sure we might get a shipment of missiles but then they get
00:35:13.440 blown up they get uh they get destroyed because that's that's war and it's like okay well they
00:35:18.000 don't get they don't get to get uh get used and it's like other countries have have the ability
00:35:23.780 to help i get it other countries have to they have to uh have their own worst dock and prepare
00:35:28.980 themselves but instead of trying to think of what's best for like the financial of the you know the
00:35:35.000 war machine you know i started thinking about what's what's the best way to defend your country
00:35:39.940 best way to defend your country is to is to defeat the enemy before the enemy came and get to your
00:35:44.820 country yeah the enemy's here so the enemy's here in ukraine they're already doing it
00:35:48.980 wait so uh you were you guys were touching on drone warfare already uh i want to touch on that
00:35:55.260 a bit um before we go uh so actually maybe first uh wayne you could we have a little show and tell
00:36:03.060 you can uh bring uh the drone up uh you should be you should be pictures of it over over supper
00:36:08.360 uh when we were in kiev uh i wanted to buy it but then i uh i had two problems one is i didn't think
00:36:16.520 it quite fit in my bag so i'd have to take it outside my bag and also then i thought i might
00:36:20.640 have trouble at customs getting a captured russian military drone through the border uh even if it's
00:36:27.500 even if it's disarmed it probably would raise a number of eyebrows but uh here why don't you show
00:36:32.300 here this is a this is a russian drone that you captured uh in the field yeah yeah so uh i used to
00:36:39.060 do uh little things i mean we call them side quests uh that's what you used to call secondary
00:36:46.620 objectives, eh? Yeah, yeah.
00:36:48.980 So if I had the time and
00:36:50.540 I felt spicy, I'd go
00:36:52.740 out and I'd do what I could to try and lure
00:36:54.840 in a Russian drone.
00:36:56.860 And it wasn't because I'm stupid or suicidal.
00:36:58.900 It's because it's necessary
00:37:00.680 to try and capture them. Why don't you really briefly
00:37:02.880 tell me the story of that? Because it
00:37:04.800 does sound a bit stupid and suicidal.
00:37:08.480 Not to me. That makes sense to me.
00:37:10.720 You're nuts. You volunteered to
00:37:12.740 go fight the Russian army. You're
00:37:14.700 obviously crazy.
00:37:15.520 yeah but yeah i guess yeah did you want to just take 45 seconds tell us how you capture this drone
00:37:24.320 yeah so i would i would uh i would run around and i would uh get myself spotted by by a rough
00:37:30.360 in like eyes are drawn like a mavic or matrice or or whatever they're using and then they would
00:37:35.300 send in an fpv and then you would have to essentially you know play cat and mouse with
00:37:41.060 the fpb until you can get it to come into strike and you would have to based on the kind of fpb it
00:37:46.060 is you would have to maneuver yourself uh countering the munition type it had so if it's like a dropper
00:37:52.060 you don't let it get above you you want it to try and come down so you have to go underneath uh cover
00:37:56.460 so it makes it lower itself and you want to try and get a snagged and uh some kind of uh obstacle
00:38:02.820 like uh wires or if you can get a snagged in trees like trees is what i usually use or bushes
00:38:07.820 you'd get it to try and chase you where it'd have to come down and get into it the fcbs you want to
00:38:12.440 you don't want to get too close but you want them to come in because they like to strike on a 45 or
00:38:16.980 if they get low and then uh anything where you can force it to snag and once the propellers hit
00:38:22.960 something that generally flips and then it goes down and uh so then once it would do that i'd get
00:38:28.260 up to it and uh i had a hook line so i'd either hook my hook line and i'd pull back and i'd this
00:38:33.980 i'd pull the battery and then i'd give it five minutes sometimes 10 and then i'd go up and i
00:38:40.720 would get a get onto the munition and i'd disarm the munition i'd take the munition put it in my
00:38:45.020 pocket and i'd take the drone and i'd go running across the field with the drone
00:38:48.180 you know i i i i thought i did some crazy stuff uh you're you're leagues leagues out of mine um
00:38:59.500 yeah i used to have like like 15 of these where a lot of them blow up and those aren't as cool
00:39:06.820 because then they're blown up uh we can still get some information off them but i like to keep
00:39:10.500 the ones that were special were the ones that didn't get blown up the ones that were still
00:39:13.540 maintained fully intact because obviously they still have all the information they still have
00:39:17.240 a lot of chips nothing's burnt on them you can get a lot more information on them uh than when
00:39:22.200 they when they blow up and get fried but uh so like the ones i like you gotta put these things
00:39:27.080 on ebay i think there'd be a market uh you know you know i think people would pay for these
00:39:31.980 captured russian drones because it's just kind of a kind of a fun neat thing then when you capture
00:39:37.600 them also too when if you get them before they blow up uh the russians they'll write information
00:39:43.180 on so you can see like what drone team you're going up against and when i also would go out
00:39:48.000 and do that i wanted to see how good the pilots were so i can see what tactics they would use
00:39:51.420 and that would kind of give me more information on who we're going up against and then i could
00:39:56.140 pass that out to my guys hey this is how good these pilots are this is munitions that these
00:39:59.600 guys are using if they're using this kind of munition that's dropped if it's dropped and
00:40:03.100 it's a different kind uh you tell me what they're trying to do to us so then i could i could take
00:40:08.920 all this information because everything is information everything's an information war
00:40:12.140 the more i know the more i can use the benefit or guys so it's like i changed how i would change how
00:40:17.440 our positions will be held up give us more standoff uh lock their line of sight anything
00:40:21.960 and everything to try and give us more of an edge based on how they're evolving so based everything
00:40:27.160 from how they're changing their drones to even uh they'd write like the frequencies they're using
00:40:31.960 on the on the drone so each team is does it would be using the same frequency band so then once we
00:40:37.640 knew a frequency band that they would use we could pass that on and then the ew teams knew which
00:40:41.480 frequency to which frequency band to jam that would stop those drones so it's like everything
00:40:47.720 everything has a purpose so people people always told me they're like man p you got a death wish
00:40:52.220 and i'm like well i don't think it's a death wish i just think it's i've seen it differently i was
00:40:56.640 like this is something that needs to get done and somebody has to be willing to take the risk and
00:41:01.380 i was always i i just i was willing to take that risk and the information we got from it was uh
00:41:06.700 was a lot more beneficial than not having it yeah well i've seen video of you getting
00:41:14.840 kind of blown up by Russian
00:41:17.060 artillery shelling.
00:41:19.000 It seems to be dangerous no matter
00:41:21.080 where you are there.
00:41:23.200 Yeah, it gets spicy.
00:41:25.040 Yeah.
00:41:27.840 Let's put it up on the screen.
00:41:29.400 What's your Instagram? Everyone needs to
00:41:31.180 follow your Instagram. I think mine's
00:41:33.140 interesting. Yours is way more interesting.
00:41:35.180 What's your Instagram? It's
00:41:36.780 my dogs. I like
00:41:39.160 to post pictures of dogs.
00:41:43.100 Spell it out for us so people can
00:41:44.720 I think it's I-E-Z-M-A-H-D-O-G-S.
00:41:50.640 Okay.
00:41:51.220 Well, we're going to put it up on the screen here so people can see it.
00:41:55.120 Guys, if you're following any Instagram account, follow this one.
00:41:59.920 Crazy, crazy shit.
00:42:01.620 No matter what you think about the war, there's some interesting things to follow on this account.
00:42:05.800 I assure you.
00:42:06.680 um so before we wrap up i want to talk about the doctrine you know military doctrine around
00:42:14.640 drones and and doctrine generally implies uh you know it's been studied by a general staff
00:42:20.360 somewhere and they've you know kind of figured out uh you know what's the best way to apply
00:42:25.840 new technologies to the battlefield and and so maybe doctrine is the wrong word because it's
00:42:31.720 it's evolving so quickly you know the there's been two arguably three major phases of completely
00:42:38.760 different kinds of warfare since the ukraine war started um a lot of people back home know
00:42:45.700 that drones are really involved but i don't think they appreciate um beyond just the technology um
00:42:53.180 how they're being used tactically and strategically in the war i can tell you a little story that i
00:42:59.900 got myself caught into uh so me and me and uh me and one other guy uh joey he's this guy from
00:43:07.400 france really good kid we got sent out to go sight this uh this tree line for a 50 cal position
00:43:12.700 we got out there and uh we're in the position and the russians ended up spotting us with uh
00:43:17.660 with thermal drum so i had to take uh i had to take pictures so that way we could send it back
00:43:21.700 to hq and they could decide whether that was a good spot for a 50 cal it wasn't it was terrible
00:43:26.740 but you know anybody's been in the military knows that some officer that's 50 kilometers away doesn't
00:43:31.000 listen to the guy that's actually on the ground because you know what do we know but uh it was a
00:43:37.960 terrible position but they wanted pictures to prove it so i stepped out of the tree line i had
00:43:41.320 to step out of the tree line to take the pictures and uh when i did that i got picked up again by
00:43:46.840 it was it was by a russian drone that was like five kilometers away they see my thermal signature
00:43:50.140 so then they sent in a mavic to come check out our our uh our ao and uh when the mavic showed up
00:43:58.540 my radio starts going off and uh it's our ksp and they're talking to me they're like hey p are you
00:44:04.980 in that tree line i'm like yeah they're like is that you enjoy just sitting there i'm like yeah
00:44:07.760 we're having a conversation i'm thinking like okay that's a friendly drone and that's like you
00:44:11.780 know essentially my boss my platoon commander check in making sure we're in the right spot you
00:44:16.380 know uh and so we're just shooting shit waving at the drone and he's like oh yeah by the way uh
00:44:21.840 we're intercepting that drone feed uh that's a russian drone and i was just like man like this
00:44:28.140 drone's been sitting above me for like five minutes we've been shooting shit and now you're
00:44:31.900 telling me it's a russian drone he's like oh don't worry it's pulling off i was like i can hear it's
00:44:34.880 pulling off but i need to know which way it's facing and he's like don't worry about it don't
00:44:38.420 worry about it and i was like no tell me which way it's facing he's like oh it's looking at you
00:44:41.500 but it pulled back like 500 meters and i was like well my my concern is if it's pulling back it's
00:44:47.280 because it's what's calling mortars and once i said that we heard the mortar poof pops and we're
00:44:52.200 gonna hear it screaming in on us and that's asked because uh drones you can you can hear the drone
00:44:57.720 and you can you can you can track where the drone's coming so it gives you a bit more chance
00:45:01.920 to maneuver with a drone with a with a mortar or artillery it just screams the longer it screams
00:45:06.280 it means it's closer the closer it is to you until it hits and then it hits and you just don't know
00:45:09.860 you don't know where it's going to hit you don't know which way to dodge you just get you just get
00:45:13.280 small so i don't want to talk to joey i started like i was covering his right side when it hit
00:45:17.300 it just missed us by a few meters and launched me to his left side and then we had to keep running
00:45:21.760 from that and uh they just spent the next hour just chasing us with the drones and with the uh
00:45:26.620 with the mortars and then uh the only way we got out of that was we had to go back the way we came
00:45:33.000 and we had to cross this 500 meters of open field and when we were crossed in the field we're
00:45:37.360 sprinting and uh as we're sprinting through the field uh we literally run into a russian drone
00:45:44.360 that was just it was just searching the field and it was an fpb and it immediately shot up and
00:45:49.480 as we're running i'm telling my i'm telling joey just go just go just go and uh because uh i had
00:45:55.480 my rifle slung my back and i was holding the radio in my hand and that was pretty much the signal
00:45:59.820 like if anything was going to happen i'd rather an fpb chase me than chase joey so if you see
00:46:04.760 someone with a radio that's essentially a senior guy and so i had the radio and i was calling radio
00:46:09.300 fpv fp and i told joey just go and i was waiting for the drone i could track i could hear the drone
00:46:14.580 just following behind me on about a 45 and i was expecting to strike because it got us right to
00:46:19.620 right we're in the middle of the field there's nowhere for us to go and it just followed and
00:46:24.400 we got to the first house is this first blown out house and i had us keep moving so as the drone was
00:46:29.620 trying to reposition around the house i kept having us bounce from house to house to house
00:46:33.800 and eventually we we uh we got into this closet to this one blown out house and my guys so my team
00:46:40.840 that was uh on the ground with me they knew whenever i was going out i'd have them uh we
00:46:45.540 called it eyes and ears so i tell them hey get your eyes and ears out and we had set out guys
00:46:49.540 in hidden positions and their whole purpose was to stay hidden stay low and just tell tell us
00:46:54.860 anytime a drone was coming and uh you would get good enough and have so much experience with the
00:46:59.580 drones that you could tell if it was an fpd you could tell if it was a mavic you could tell it
00:47:02.520 if it was a fiber optic and these guys would tell me on the radio hey ppp you got a you got a mavic
00:47:07.340 coming you have a you have a bomber coming you have a fiber optic coming and they were telling
00:47:11.840 me which drones were coming and eventually joey and i were being chased by five different drones
00:47:15.880 and uh so what they did is they had two mavics that had different battery lengths right so they
00:47:21.980 would stay above you you would have a bomber with a nice big like two liter bomb like an anti-tank
00:47:26.100 uh it would be like literally like a two liter pop bottle full of tnt and they'd fill out with
00:47:31.200 oil and they'll drop that on you to make this huge explosion just catch everything on fire
00:47:34.720 uh and then they had two fpds that constantly circle and they fly nice and low and then they
00:47:41.140 have a fiber optic that uh it sounds like a weed whacker just flies so low to the grass the blades
00:47:45.940 are actually hitting the blades of grass and they'll use that to snake and actually clear
00:47:49.740 and the way that they'll cover they'll try to cover where the the fiber optic was was with the
00:47:54.500 fpds that just keep those revving high and circling and they use that to try and mask the
00:47:58.780 sound of the other the other drones and this was a team that now you have so i was six drones and
00:48:03.820 they had six drones and they're obviously talking to each other and they're obviously very coordinated
00:48:08.180 and they had this this is something that they drilled out that they've done this before
00:48:11.760 because they weren't just slapping in like you've i've seen teams where like when i got this it was
00:48:17.780 just one fpb coming out and that dude just did he just shot his shot and well now i got his drone
00:48:23.760 right i'm still here i have a drought this team uh they had six teams working in coordination
00:48:30.240 to hunt down two of us and they wanted to make sure so the reason why they brought in the mavics
00:48:34.840 is that way they could get 100 uh uh 100 confirmation that they killed us so they
00:48:41.540 they could do a live battle damage assessment and if they sent in one mavic they would have
00:48:45.480 the other mavic on standby to finish the job if they needed to use a bomber to open up a big hole
00:48:50.160 or to push us from one building out into the open.
00:48:52.580 That's what they had the bomber for, the fiber optic,
00:48:55.540 because it doesn't have that radio, like the signal phase.
00:48:59.520 That's what they used to start scoping through the building.
00:49:01.520 So they would snake it into the buildings, into the doorways,
00:49:03.980 and then use that to do like an internal search.
00:49:07.000 And then when they couldn't get us moved,
00:49:09.180 they pulled the drones back and then they call in 120 mortars.
00:49:12.600 And they just, with us, I think the big thing that kept us alive
00:49:16.720 is I got us into a good spot.
00:49:18.900 and i remember sitting there with joey and whenever he he would start to get worked up i
00:49:23.220 would do whatever i could to keep him calm because panic to make people make very big mistakes and
00:49:28.580 that's where you're gonna that's where guys can die and because i kept it i kept us calm and i
00:49:34.320 kept us still and i kept us in a good a good position the only thing i could have kept i
00:49:39.100 could have gotten us is if they just happen to hit us uh with a with a mortar or any time the
00:49:46.160 batteries on the drones would get low like on the fpbs they would just slam it into any any
00:49:50.060 any place where they suspected we would have been they'd send it into a window to blow up inside a
00:49:54.460 building and then they'd watch and wait to see if we scoot out and uh when they sent in the an fpb
00:50:00.660 to block near us i refused they'll have a move he'd want to he would run a run and i'd say no no
00:50:04.940 joy stay stay stay and we'd wait and that comes down to discipline and uh yeah i'm knowing what
00:50:11.500 you need to and that was that was crazy it was good that was probably most uh one of the most
00:50:17.240 intense moments because it's you and you have a whole team that's highly coordinated they have
00:50:22.420 this drilled in they have they have uh it's more than just the drones they have idf teams waiting
00:50:27.260 like they had ags systems waiting and that was a highly coordinated like a like attack like they
00:50:32.880 had us dead to rights we shouldn't have gotten out of there but if if that was another team that
00:50:37.820 just happened to you know at any moment if they would panic and one guy goes to move that would
00:50:43.060 have exposed everybody and you could get you could get a ton of casualties from that and that's that's
00:50:47.580 something like when i seen that that was something i was like this is what we need to start doing
00:50:51.420 we need to have drone teams are coordinating with multiple different drones multiple different
00:50:55.520 positions where they can communicate very quickly where they can coordinate battery lamps they can
00:51:00.100 coordinate munitions even pilot skills skill sets and it's like you can you can be an incredibly
00:51:05.600 effective and you can lock down like a whole platoon which is the which is the few guys and
00:51:10.640 these guys can be 20 kilometers away before they're even anywhere within uh an actual threat
00:51:14.920 of you and it's it's crazy like if this is how drones can be used and what they can be used for
00:51:21.160 this is going to be you know the evolution of this is going to be insane yeah well uh that's wild
00:51:31.440 I know you've told me some other wild stories, but I guess we're 50 minutes, so I want to be respectful of your time and our viewers and listeners here.
00:51:43.920 Guys, I really appreciate your time.
00:51:46.380 I know it's getting late over where you are in Ukraine as we record this right now.
00:51:53.360 I always feel very stupid when I say to you guys, stay safe.
00:51:58.100 I suppose it's a bit redundant, or it doesn't make very much sense, so just try not to die is the best I can wish you, but I appreciate what you're doing, and I appreciate the time you've given me and our viewers and listeners today with just a tiny little snippet of what's going on in Ukraine, and particularly from the point of view of foreign fighters from Canada and the UK.
00:52:26.080 so uh appreciate appreciate everything guys and try not to die thank you very much for having us
00:52:32.160 appreciate it yeah no problem thank you all right god bless
