00:00:00.000 My view is that we have too many politicians who tell you about their principles before the election.
00:00:11.680 As soon as they get elected, all those principles they embrace disappear.
00:00:20.540 Because what they want to do nowadays is to look at the next election and how they are going to get re-elected.
00:00:27.820 I mean, I'm not going to be talking about individuals, but every single level has shown that we have a problem.
00:00:39.040 Calgary's municipality, it has already started.
00:00:42.700 Gondek doesn't like somebody on council, so let's shut his mic off.
00:00:49.620 At the provincial level in Alberta, we have many problems.
00:00:53.840 Not all of Kenney's doing.
00:00:57.520 There are certain things that have happened in the economy and in the geopolitical arena that have affected his government.
00:01:06.200 However, he is in charge and the buck stops with him.
00:01:12.360 At the federal level, accountability has disappeared completely.
00:01:16.280 Now that we have the coalition between the NDP and the liberal, we have a one socialist government.
00:01:26.520 Accountability has disappeared in this country at every single level.
00:01:31.980 And younger people should be very, very worried about this.
00:01:36.120 Because unlike the United States, where they have a balance of power every two years, where they can have a midterm, where things can shift.
00:01:50.940 In Canada, we don't have this system.
00:01:53.900 We have somebody who's been elected in Ottawa now for years, and it just continues.
00:01:59.600 We can no longer accept accountability from the government if there is no transparency.
00:02:08.180 I mean, too often, we have fractured political parties at every level right now.
