Transcript

00:00:00.000 So we're here in the Standing Committee on Access to Information, Privacy and Ethics.
00:00:07.000 We literally have the Commissioner for the RCMP in the room.
00:00:11.000 We have a Staff Sergeant from the RCMP in the room.
00:00:14.000 And we have these Liberals right there.
00:00:17.000 The Liberal Vice-Chair, Mona Forche, just moved to adjourn the committee.
00:00:20.000 These Liberals voted to shut it down.
00:00:23.000 Mike Calloway, Parne Baines, hands him off, Hickor Callad, Mona Forche.
00:00:28.000 That's absolutely unacceptable.
00:00:31.000 Look at them.
00:00:32.000 They're very proud to cover up the corruption of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
00:00:39.000 And so when we have the Commissioner of the RCMP here to answer questions,
00:00:45.000 and we have the cover-up coalition do what they do,
00:00:48.000 and they adjourn the meeting before the Commissioner even read his statement.
00:00:52.000 And so I can tell you that we came here to work.
00:00:55.000 A meeting notice was given, and they are walking out of the room.
00:01:00.000 They're running with their tail between their legs because they're trying to protect a Prime Minister who refused to release information that the RCMP had requested,
00:01:16.000 hiding behind Cabinet Confidence.
00:01:18.000 Now the purpose of Cabinet Confidence, of course, is so that ministers are free to discuss decisions,
00:01:26.000 and the details of the discussions aren't released to the media.
00:01:29.000 But what they've used the Cabinet Confidence provisions for in this case is to conceal information from the RCMP to prevent them from being able to fully investigate the obstruction of justice charges that they were looking at at the time.
00:01:53.000 And so it's shocking to find ourselves in a room where, just moments ago, these Liberals shut down the hearing.
00:02:04.000 And so we had the Commissioner of the RCMP, he was right there just a moment ago.
00:02:10.000 And that's what transparency and accountability looks like after eight years of Justin Trudeau.
00:02:19.000 I can tell you, for our democratic institutions, this Prime Minister is just not worth the cost, and we're going to have more to say about this.
00:02:26.000 Thank you very much.
