You can smell pizza cooking from the second floor windows of Without Papers Pizza today, even though they have been shut down by the city of Calgary. The day after the city implemented the new bylaw mandating Calgary businesses to require vaccination passports on September 22nd, Without Papers Pizzeria posted on their Facebook page saying they will accept everyone, vaccinated or unvaccinated, and don t plan to discriminate against anyone. The following Monday, Alberta Health Services suspended their food handling permit, but the Inglewood Pizzaria kept serving their customers. Then on Thursday, the city put out a statement saying they had received many complaints and inquiries about Without Papers. The statement said the restaurant had racked up 27 tickets for refusal to check for proof of vaccination or a valid alternative, failure to display signage, and operating whilst the business license is suspended, and it confirmed it has removed its business liquor licenses as well as their permits.
